Rules: shuffle your “on repeat” playlist* from Spotify or the music service of your choice and post the first 10 tracks
tagged by @normalamber!
The issue here is I have 3 spotify accounts but only really use them at work and when making playlists. (i don’t think there’s a way to get youtube to tell you what you’ve watched most, which would be more accurate) So... the one would tell you right now basically what’s on my karaoke backups playlist plus a couple songs on my playlist for the reddie fic i’m kind of writing. (it’s a little wild because after 14 it goes to songs i’ve never heard of? but i guess maybe spotify autoplayed them at some point) and the one of my work account basically just tells you i’ve been listening to the velvet goldmine soundtrack but i’ll start with that one i guess:
fwiw I Wrote Mr. Tambourine Man by John Craigie is the only song on both, and it’s def. fic related.
1. When Doves Cry by Prince (not on the Velvet Goldmine sountrack)
2. Needles in the Camel’s Eye by Brian Eno
3. I Wrote Mr. Tambourine Man by John Craigie (not on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack)
4. Roll (Burbank Funk) by The Internet (not on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack)
5. Ladytron by Roxy Music
6. Fat Lady of Limbourg by Brian Eno
7. Tutti Frutti by Little Richard
8. Sebastian by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel
9. 2HB by Roxy Music
10. Coz I Luv You by Slade
should be pretty obvious which 3 i wasn’t considering as fun social karaoke songs
1. Raise Your Glass by Pink
2. Starships by Nicki Minaj
3. Truth Hurts by Lizzo
4. Twin Size Mattress by the Front Bottoms
5. I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston
6. Super Bass by Nicki Minaj
7. Die Young by Kesha
8. Good as Hell by Lizzo
9. I Wrote Mr. Tambourine Man by John Craigie
10. Guest Room by Future Teens
just out of curiosity i checked my iTunes, which was much more heavily used on previous computers. the highest play count is for Champs Elysees by Antje Duvekot, which is the unreleased song that gave me this fic, so like that was the only place i could loop it while writing. then over half as many plays for Running on Faith by Eric Clapton, no idea there, then Tour Song by Amory Sivertson is this fic, A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum, Rewind by the Paper Raincoat, Wild Awake by Tylan, Streets of Dublin by Eric William Morris, then I Don’t Get It from the musical adaptation of the Skin of Our Teeth (another only-here-in-my-itunes song). Finishing out the top 10, but we’re down to just 5 plays, Recoil by Ani Difranco and The Death of the Cog by The Cog is Dead.

New Universes 14
I Smell Something Fishy.
"My sword's all sticky! It's covered in slime!" Cerea demanded.
The slime was in the kitchen with several items she had put into herself. As in, coffee cups, a hanger, a couple writing pens and a couple cans of veggies.
I started pulling the things out of the slime. "These are not good for you. Well, they may not hurt you, but they are not good for you either." I turned to Cerea and handed her the cans of vegetables. "Would you open these for me?" I asked her.
"Yes Master." Cerea said and took the cans over to the can opener. She opened up the cans and brought them back to me. "Here you go Master."
"It's not Suu's fault." Papi stated.
Miia and Kim walked into our kitchen.
"Suu." I repeated.
"Ya, Suu. She's a slime and slime begins with "S". So, I named her Suu." Papi explained.
"Suu." Suu said.
"Yes, Suu." Papi replied.
"She talked." Miia stated.
She's good are imitating. So why not?" I said.
"Here you go Suu. Open your mouth." I told Suu and demonstrated what I wanted her to do. Suu imitated me and opened her mouth. I poured the cans of veggies into Suu's mouth. If it had been anyone else, I would have been worried of chocking them. But with Suu, she doesn't have a throat so she can't choak.
"I don't think she should run around naked." Miia said with a frown on her face.
"We'll need to find something that doesn't get wet while she's wearing it… How about a raincoat." I suggested.
Knowing this would happen on one of my trips to the store I had touched several different raincoats and boots. That way she would have different colors to pick from later on. Although today I created a yellow raincoat and a pair of yellow rain boots and handed them to Suu.
"A raincoat?" Cerea asked.
This way it won't get slimy, and it won't go see-through when it gets wet." I replied. "Although she does look sexier this way." I added as Suu modeled the raincoat.
"Isn't she smaller than before?" Cerea asked.
"I'm guessing this is her natural size. The more water or liquids she takes in the bigger she gets." I said.
While Cerea and I were talking, Papi was trying to teach Suu her, Papi's, name. "Papi, Pa… pi." She said while pointing at herself. "Papi… Papi."
"Papi." Suu repeated.
"I don't think she is here legally. She was either smuggled in illegally or she came in by accident." Cerea stated.
"Should we call Ms. Smith then?' Kim asked.
I chuckled. "Why call her? She'll be here shortly to get something to eat. We can tell her then if we need to. But I don't think it will be necessary.
"But if she's here illegally, you could get in trouble, Master." Cerea said concerned.
"It's a possibility, but not likely. Besides, Smith can just write her up as an exchange student and let Suu live here with me." I told Cerea.
"I guess she could." Cerea admitted. "But what are we going to do with her?" Cerea asked me.
"She can live in our house. There's plenty of room and I'm sure I can waterproof at least one room for her and probably the whole house. And while she's here you and Papi can teach her what she needs to know. It seems like she is very new to the human and monster girl world and she doesn't know much of anything. Think of her as a child." I told Cerea.
Cerea's eyes glazes over. "A child, our daughter." She said to herself. "NO! I musn't think like that." She exclaimed. "She's not our daughter."
"But what are you going to tell Ms. Smith when she shows up?" Miia asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Not sure, but I'll think of something." I replied.
While I was thinking of it, I gave Suu Durability, mainly so she won't dilute in water. I also gave her Regeneration and Sustenance. That way she won't need water or to eat, and I also gave her Weather Protection, so she won't freeze when it gets cold. I'll explain all. of these to Suu when she knows enough words and has enough understanding to know what I'm telling her.
I pointed at Kim. "In a half hour or so you need to head to the park. You can take Miia with you if you like." I told Kim.
Kim looked confused. "Why do I need to go to the park in half an hour?" He asked.
"You need to be there so you can prevent someone from getting seriously hurt." I told Kim.
Oh, who?" He asked.
"That you'll find out once you're there. You will need to be on the end of the park with the hill on it. The person you help will be going down the hill." I instructed Kim.
"Is this more of your seeing the future?" Miia asked me.
I grinned and nodded my head in agreement.
Miia nodded her head. "I still don't understand how you do that." She admitted.
"Most of what I can do, I don't understand why or how I can do it, myself. I've just learned to accept that I 'can' do it." I informed her.
Miia grinned. "Can I go with Darling to the park?" She asked me.
I nodded my head in agreement. "I don't see why not. But… when you hear someone yelling for help. You," I pointed at Miia. "Stay out of the way and let Kim help the person." I told Miia.
"I'll stay out of the way." Miia told me.
The doorbell rang. Or I should say, Kim's doorbell rang. Since Kim wasn't home all the time, and times like now with Kim and Miia are at our house. I had set up a wireless doorbell so we could hear it in our house. That way one of us could answer the door if need be.
"I'll see who that is." Kim said and left our house. A short time later Kim returned with a surprised look on his face. "There is a crew here to modify the house some more." He stated.
"I wonder why?" Cerea asked.
"For Suu?" Kim questioned.
"Possibly, but since she lives here in my house, I don't see any reason for Smith to make a room for Suu in your house." I said. "Oh, you need to be heading to the park, and remember to stick by the side with the hill on it." I reminded Kim.
"Yes, sure. Would you keep an eye on the workers while I'm gone?" Kim asked me.
"Not a problem." I replied.
Kim and Miia walked out the door and through the portal to Kim's house.
I looked at Cerea and Papi. "Well, Kim wants me to keep an eye on his house. Do the two of you want to join me, or do you want to stay here?" I asked them.
Papi jumped up and chirped. "I want to go with you Master. Will you play with me?" Papi asked me.
"I don't see why not. We'll have plenty of time to play some games." I replied.
"I will stay by your side Master." Cerea told me.
I sighed. I have been trying to get Cerea to relax more, but it's been a long and difficult process. "Relax Cerea. I'm glad you want to be with me, but you need to relax more. There's nothing going to harm me around here. AND, there is nothing wrong with you telling me that you just want to spend some time with me." I told Cerea.
Cerea hung her head and blushed. "I'm sorry Master. I am trying, but my training is to always protect my Master." She told me.
I walked over to Cerea and put my hand under her chin and lifter up her head so I could see her face. "I understand that Dear heart, but like I said. I am not in any danger here, so you don't need to be on guard all the time." I told her. Then I started leading them to Kim's living room. "I have an idea. Why don't you play the winner of our first game." I suggested to Cerea.
"Those games are a waste of time." Cerea stated.
I chuckled. "Not really. With the tennis game you work on hand eye coordination. That helps when you have to fight someone. Plus, you get exercise by moving around. That means it's good for you." I explained to Cerea.
"I didn't think of it that way Master. As you said, I'll play the winner of the first game." Cerea agreed.
Papi set up the game then handed me one of the controllers.
I haven't played tennis before so it will take me a little while for me to learn how to play. Although with Papi playing against me it will be fun learning how to play tennis.
"Take it easy on me for the first game, Papi. I've never played tennis before." I told her.
"Master has never played tennis before? Papi gets to teach Master how to play tennis. Whoo-hoo!" Papi exclaimed jumping up and down.
"I know the basics, and I've watched you and Suu play tennis, but I've just never played it before. So, we'll play one game so I can get used to playing. Then the next game we'll play for keeps." I told Papi.
"For keeps?" Suu said.
I grinned at Suu. "Yes, for keeps. In this situation it means, With determination to do or complete something. For example: This is it, girls, the last game of the season. So go out there and play for keeps. Although here it means the second game will be a real game, and the winner of that game will play Cerea." I told Suu. "But it also means, for a very long period of time, possibly forever. And as an example: I'm sorry, but you're stuck with me. As my spouse, you have me for keeps." I added.
Suu grabbed me, wrapping her arms around my arm and holding tight. "For keeps, Master." Suu said smiling up at me.
I reached around Suu with the free arm and rubbed her back and I smiled at her. "Yes Suu, you have me for keeps." I told her.
Suu made what I call, her contented sound, a sound between a giggle and a cooing sound.
I let Suu hold me for another minute. "Okay Suu, you need to let me go so I can play the game." I told her and leaned down and kissed her on the top of her head.
Suu let go of me and moved back out of the way. I picked up the control and waited for Papi to start the game.
Before we could start playing one of the workmen came into the living room. "I need you to sigh for the new wiring." He told me. I took the paper and gave it a quick look over. Then I used a stamp with Kimihito's name on it, and stamped the paper at the bottom and handed the paper back to the workman.
Papi easily beat me the first game. The second game Papi won as well, although it was harder for her to win.
Papi was dancing around the room. "I beat Master! I beat Master! I beat Master!" Papi cheered.
I laughed at Papi's antics. "Just give me a few more games and you won't beat me so easily, Papi." I told her. "Okay, it's Cerea's chance to beat you." I told Papi.
Papi stopped dancing around the room and walked back over to the TV. "Papi will win against horsey lady." Papi claimed.
Cerea walked up to the TV and picked up a game controller. "No way, you're going to beat me, chicken wing." Cerea countered.
Papi started the game then started moving back and forth in front of the TV. Centorea didn't move as much, but she does have a longer reach than Papi does, so she doesn't need to move her body around as much. To Centorea's disappointment, Papi won the game.
"Whoo-hoo! I won! Yay! I beat horsey lady! Whoo-hoo! I won!" Papi yelled, cheered and danced around the room again.
I laughed at Papi's antics. "You don't have to rub it in Papi." I told her. I turned to Cerea. "I believe we need to practice more." I told her.
Centorea had a disgusted look on her face. "Yes, Master, we need more practice. Imagen losing to chicken wing over there." Centorea complained.
The workman returned. "I have another paper for you to sign. It's for the waterproof room." He told me.
I took the paper and again looked it over then stamped it at the bottom where a signature would go. Then handed the paper back to the workman.
"Okay, now it's Papi vs Suu. To see who the champion of the day is." I stated. I cocked my head to the side for a moment. "We did that wrong. Papi and I should have played a game. Then Suu and Cerea should have played a game… THEN the winners of those games would play to see who the champion of the day would be. Oh well, we'll do that next time." I added.
Suu walked over and took the control from Cerea. Then she readied herself to play a game of tennis with Papi.
I tapped Cerea on the arm. "I suggest we move back some. You know how rambunctious they can get when they play together." I told Cerea.
Centorea nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, Master, they can get quite exuberant." She admitted as she took several steps back out of the way.
Papi and Suu were running and sliding back and forth in front of the TV. It took them quite a bit longer before there was a winner, and to Papi's delight she won the game.
"Whoo-hoo! I won, I won! Yay!" She cheered and jumped up and down.
Again, I laughed at Papi's excitement. "Okay, Papi that's enough. You don't have to go overboard." I told her. "Besides, give me time to play a few more games and I'll be beating you at tennis."
Papi started her cheering again. "Yay! Master's going to play with Papi. Woohoo!" She said then jumped at me and threw her arms and wings around me and gave me a big hug.
Shortly after Papi played Suu, Kim and Miia returned. "We ran into a woman in a wheelchair on that hill."
"The woman ran into Darling. If he hadn't stopped her wheelchair she would have been hurt bad enough to have to go to the hospital." Miia told us.
"It was good that you were there to save her." Cerea said.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, it was. Way to go Kim." I told Kim.
"I can't really take all the credit for saving her. You were the one that told me to go to the park in the first place." Kim said.
"True, but you did go, and 'you' saved her." I reiterated, and let it drop.
About five hours later the foreman of the work crew walked up to Kim. "We're all finished installing your waterproof room." He told Kim then he handed Kim a huge stack of papers. "These will all need to be signed by tomorrow." He told Kim as he handed the papers to him. Then left the house with his work crew. At that time Smith walked into the house.
Kimihito took the papers and looked at Smith. "Could you warn me when you're going to do work on my house."
"You didn't have to build a room for Suu. She's going to live with us in Master's house." Papi told Smith.
"I handle a lot of work. Searching for host families… Monitoring situations to make sure the Interspecies Cultural Exchange Accord Laws aren't broken… Trying out new exercises in the field. Yet I don't get any more money. So, when you add in illegal immigrants and new species… I can't keep up with it. So, I haven't seen a slime monster girl. She's all yours!" Smith exclaimed.
"Is that legal?" Centorea asked.
"Then why rebuild my house for Suu?" Kim asked Smith.
"Excuse me." A girl in a wheelchair said at the door to the new room. "Hello everyone. How do you do?" She asked. A man in black was pushing the wheelchair.
Smith walked over to the girl. "Mero, you know you aren't allowed to go out on your own! Do you have any idea how hard it was to find you?" Smith scolded the girl.
"You have my deepest apologies, but I simply had to get a peek at the town." Mero started. "And while I was out, I discovered my host family… This must be what they call destiny."
"Host family?! You're an exchange student?! What's going on here?!" Kim asked excitedly and shocked.
"I think it's time you showed Darling." Smith told Mero.
"My name is Meroune Lorelei, and I'm a mermaid." Mero said as she pulled the hem of her dress up a little and let her tail flop out from under her dress. "I'll be staying there in exchange starting today. It's a pleasure to be here… Beloved!" She said with a big smile on her face.

PLAY-IN GAME #4
(10) #22 Minners (4-5-1*) @ (7) #12 Du-vowel Kitties (6-3)
Tbe Minners fell into the seed that nobody wanted…  Starting in the 14-seed spot they ran up the score to pass F-troop...the My Lil’ Ponies melted down on the field...and the Raincoats and Rubber Snakes decided they’d rather play Baseball…  Leaving the Lime green flecked finned-backs the only team still standing and the only team to qualify with a losing record…  Menacing they are not, on the offensive side of the ball as their 1960s playbook is more about ball control.  Only one team in the play-offs is worse ranked...and at a respectable 19.4ppg...they at least outscore one other play-off team in the North…  They should struggle mightily in this game, especially at the goal line, but should pick up a lone score on some off-script comedy.  There is definitely one Defensive end they should run at and not away from.   Out of the play-off teams they are still in the bottom five in the Defensive rankings...holding opponents to a 15.8 average (which is a large number in the North).  They lack size up front, relying on quickness and guessing right...  Their defensive backfield shouldn’t be tested that much this game...and that is probably a good thing.  Even if they were more competitive on both sides of the ball...their special teams could still cost them the game...
First half of the season it looked like the Kitties would be sitting out this week in preparation for a top seed show down…but falling short against the Comic-als cost them that chance…not that two games against the crosstown rival helped either...  In the Northern half of the Play-offs they have both the top ranked Offense (14th – scoring 20.5ppg) and Defense (8th – holding opponents to 14.3ppg) that are playing this week and an opponent that feeds into their strengths…  The nice thing about the offensive side of the ball, they don’t necessarily need to go out and “win the game”...they just need to play with-in themselves and take the opportunities when they arise.  Especially with shortfields and goal lines…  They have a weight advantage upfront, but their QB will need better ball security when he sees the blitz coming…and the Minners will probably start blitzing early and often.  Defensively up front is where the Kitties should win this game…  Against this opponent they should be able to dictate their will and if the Minners can’t score...they can’t win…  The Computer puts this score at 24-8 Duuu-Vowel...but it could get much worse...
