Sword Oritoria, Chapter 10
Mapping expedition into Knossos.
The Hestia Familia was excluded from having to help map Knossos. Instead, we were given our first official expedition in the Dungeon.
Since we weren't going to be involved with Knossos for now. I decided to help the Loki Familia, the Ganasha Familia and the couple other Familia's that will be going into Knossos. To help them I nullified Penia's, Thanatos's and Dionysus's connection to arcanum. It is what I did with Ishtar. So, when they are damaged enough instead of their arcanum kicking in to save them and they are sent back to the upper world. Instead, nothing will happen, or they have a good chance of dying like a normal human would. This way when Dionysus kills Penia and when or if Thanatos kills himself. The alter will not react to the arcanum, although I also Nullified the alter just in case, thus the green flesh plant material will not be activated. Ruining Dionysus's plans.
I also Nullified Filvis's Einsel spell, preventing her from cloning herself and making another Filvis or Ein as well as preventing the two from rejoining.
Since the Hestia Familia will be in the Water World or Water City. That is about all I can do to help until we finish our expedition.
==========
Preparations for the Final Battle of Knossos
I ported to the 30th floor of Babel Tower, where the Denatos was usually held. Finn, Fels, Tsubaki and a few other people were gathered around the large round table. I hadn't been invited so I just gate crashed.
As I walked up to the table Finn and Tsubaki saw me. Finn was the first to say anything.
"What are you doing here Eilwyn Tengee? And how did you know we would be here?" Finn asked.
I grinned. "You keep asking me that question. You should know the answer to that by now. As for why I'm here. I'm her to impart some information to you. As I told Loki, Dionysus is Enyo not Demeter. Dionysus blackmailed Demeter to help him. That is why it looks like Demeter is Enyo. That also implies that Dionysus was not killed in Knossos when y'all were doing the mapping expedition. He's alive and well. The reason his followers lost their falna is because he was deceiving them. He concocted a way for Penia to be their patron instead of Dionysus himself. His only follower is Filvis." I explained to the group.
"How could Dionysus convince his followers to covert to Peina?" Finn asked.
"Alcohol, or rather divine wine. Dionysus was able to make divine wine that could get even the 'gods' drunk. He used it to get Penia and his 'followers' drunk and Penia converted his followers to herself. That is also how he convinced everyone to believe he was a nice guy. He was drunk almost all the time so he could hide his true demeanor and agenda. When he sobers up, he reverted to his real, evil self." I replied.
"Hmmm, I see. Then where is Demeter if she's not Enyo." Finn asked.
"She's hiding in her warehouse in the Beor Mountains. She's lost many of her Familia because of Dionysus and many more are being held hostage in Knossos. Plus, she knows she is expected to be the scapegoat, of being Enyo." I told him and the group.
"If Dionysus didn't die, who did and where is Dionysus?" Shakti asked.
"Dionysus killed Penia to make it look like he had been killed and gone back to the upper world. He is in hiding in Knossos right now. But his plan didn't work out quite the way he wanted it to. He believed Penia's arcanum would activate and cause the alter to make the spirits to create the green flesh and it would fill Knossos, hopefully killing many of those in Knossos while the green flesh would give the demi-spirits magical energy to help power their spell." I explained.
"But why didn't Penia's arcanum activate? What happened to her?" Shakti asked.
I grinned at Shakti. "I Nullified her connection to arcanum so when Dionysus killed her, her arcanum didn't activate to heal her. Thus, preventing the alter to activate. Although Dionysus did find a way to still activate the alter, although when it activated it was a lot weaker than planned. There is still the green flesh in Knossos although it is only on the tenth floor. Because of that the demi-spirit's spell is weaker. It will still destroy most of Orario just not all of it, now." I told them.
"Plus, you should let the groups going into Knossos know when they get to the green flesh, the green flesh is a trap. Anywhere the green flesh is the spirits can use magic on them. Destroy the green flesh and magic can't be used against them until the green flesh grows back." I explained.
"How do you know all of this? Are you involved with Enyo?" Tsubaki asked me.
"I have seen some of the future. I've seen what would happen so I have been changing what I can." I said to the group in general, then I turned to Tsubaki. "And no, I'm not involved with Enyo. I'm here to destroy him and help save the city." I told her.
"And in doing that. What I tell you now goes no farther than this room. I would like every group that is going to help with the attack on Knossos to see me before they go in. I am able to boost people's abilities or status. I'm willing to give everyone that goes in a giant boost to their status as well as magic immunity, for the duration of the battle. And as a bonus anyone that helps, I will let them keep half of the status boost after it is over with." I offered.
"That's not possible!" One of the people there I didn't know, exclaimed.
I chuckled and looked at Finn then Fels. "Would the two of you like to explain that I can do what I said I can do?" I asked Finn and Fels.
"I don't know who lord Eilwyn can do the things he can do. But if he says he can do something, he is quite capable of doing it." Fels told the group.
"I have seen Eilwyn Tengee do some amazing thing that no one else is able to do. How or why, he can do those things is beyond me. But as Fels said. If Eilwyn Tengee says he can do something, he can do it." Finn put in.
"Do you know anything about the demi-spirits we will run into?" Finn asked.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, I do. The crystal orbs were implanted into Grand Treants. They have their main head, which are casting the destructive spell. Then towards the bottom of the trunk there are three more heads. Thos other three heads will be casting spells to protect the demi-spirit. Although with everyone that is going in will have Magic Immunity. They really won't have to worry about most of that. But they will have to worry about aftereffects. That is if an ice spell is cast, the ice won't affect them, but, they will have to deal with the ground covered in ice." I said and shrugged.
"As I told Loki, there are seven demi-spirits. There are six that will be performing the chant for the spell to destroy Orario. But there is a seventh demi-spirit that is Dionysus is saving as a trump card. I'm sure a little white rabbit could take care of the seventh demi-spirit." I told Finn and turned to leave the chamber.
After I left Babel Tower. I went to the homes of every Familia that was going to be part of the attack on Knossos. I gave everyone Physical Enhancement Level 2 as well and Magic Immunity. If anyone that received the Physical enhancement had just leveled up, instead of their stats being I-0, there strength, durability, agility, dexterity stats should be "SS". The boost won't affect skills or magic, though. I informed the 'gods' of each Familia they needed to update everyone's status and why.
==========
After I had gone to all the other Familia's, I went to the Igashu Familia last to give them Physical Enhancement Level 2 and Magic Immunity. I left them for last so my Team and I could head into the Dungeon with them as soon as Igashu/Fels updated everyone's status.
I had Nullified Filvis's ability to clone herself. But, I want to be able to talk to Filvis and not Ein. Filvis when she clones herself leaves herself mainly as is but Eins if all of Filvis's dark parts from being a creature. And I want to get a clear answer from Filvis so I dropped the Nullification so she will be able to clone herself, for now.
I had already given Wiene, Sky and Fia Physical Enhancement Level 2 and Magic Immunity, before we left Hearthstone Manor. They had already Ranked up to Level 4 fighting Amphisbaena. My Team and I had ranked up to Level 5 and Rosni had ranked up to Level 4. All at the same time. We haven't been able to report our ranking up to The Guild yet because as soon as we killed Amphisbaena, we headed back home so Hestia could update all of our status and so I could update my Familia's status. Both my Familia's and my Team's status had to be updated twice. Once to see if we had ranked up. After I had found out that we all had Ranked up, I gave my Familia Physical Enhancement Level 2 and Magic Immunity. Then I dropped the Nullification on part of their status, so they naturally went up in most of their stats, like I had done every time we all ranked up. Then me Team went to Hestia again so she could update our status again and I updated my Familia's status as well.
Everyone's basic status was no less than "SS". But, like I had told the others, once the battle of Knossos was over, I would take away some of the boost and leave them with only Physical Enhancement Level 1, which would leave them with most of their basic status at "C". Then when they Rank up again, I would give them Physical Enhancement Level 2 so their stats would go up to around a "C" again.
When I was finished with the Igashu Familia. I went back to Hearthstone Manor to wait along with the rest of the Hestia Familia and the Eilwyn Familia to go into Knossos after everyone else had gone in.
Finn had to do some extra work because he had to find all of the first-tier adventurers from the disbanded Freya Familia. He was going to use them as a second wave attack on Knossos. It took time but Finn was able to find everyone he was looking for to have them wait to attack after the Loki Familia and the Ganasha Familia had gone in and opened the way for them.
The Hestia Familia would be going in close to the same time the ex-Freya members would be going in. The hard part was waiting to go into the labyrinth Knossos. The only members of the Familia that aren't going in is Horn and Mari. Everyone else is a Level three or higher.
We received our orders to head in over one of the oculas Fels had given us.
"Everyone grab your payload and head down." I called out.
Everyone in the Familia has a Companion, but most of them don't use shapeshifting very much. So, they're not used to flying. Because of that, My Team along with Wiene, Fia and Sky will be carrying the others down into Knossos. The person we are carrying is our payload.
Dragon wings and tails sprouted on our backs, and we took to the air. We each hovered over the person we were to carry, letting them put on a harness for them to ride in. Sky and Fia just took ahold of the person they were to carry in their talons after they shifted to their natural forms.
Since none of the 'gods' that died in Knossos went back to the upper world, they didn't create huge holes from the nineth floor to the surface. So, to make it easier for everyone to get into Knossos, I ported down to the nineth floor and used some of my Earth Controle to create a hole or shaft to the surface.
We glided down into the labyrinth to the nineth floor.
Because of how far down the nineth floor was, it took a several minutes to glide that far down.
On the ground on the ninth floor. We could hear the different battles through the oculus. Lili told Finn she would take two fronts to help him out. It took a few moments, but Finn agreed, giving him a lighter load to bear in the battle.
Before Lili could send anyone out as back up, I spoke up. "Lili. I'll go find Bete and his party that fell in the trap."
I turned to Sky. "Can you echo locate like Rei? I asked.
Sky nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, I can. why?" She replied.
"Take Kimmy, Iris and Fia and help Raul find the hostages. With your echo location it will be easier for you to find them." I told her.
"I will." Sky told me and she motioned for Iris, Kimmy and Fia to follow her. "Let's fly." She added as she ran to gain enough speed to take flight.
Fia, Kimmy and Iris followed after Sky and all of them were shortly in the air flying away from us.
Before they were out of sight. I gave Sky and Iris, Healing. That way they will be able to heal all of the hostages when they find them.
[Sky, Iris, I gave both of you, Healing so you can heal the hostages.] I sent to them so they would know.
[You did? Thank you. That will help a lot.] Sky replied.
[All right! I'm a doctor now!] Iris exclaimed.
"Can I go with you?" Wiene asked me.
I smiled at Wiene. "I'd like that." I told her and I looked at Cindy. "You can come with me as well. My Dragon Girls can keep me safe." I told Cindy.
"Tsk, like you need being kept safe." Cindy scoffed.
I looked at Lili. "We're off." I told her.
Lili had already used her magic and had turned into Finn. "I already knew you were off." Lili/Finn retorted.
I chuckled. then i did a quick mental search for Bete and Lefiya. Finding them I saw where they were. "Ok, girls, take ahold." I told them.
Wiene took a hold of one hand while Cindy took my other hand in her hand. I looked at our joined hand and then I looked at Wiene, who had a big smile on her face. Then to Cindy who was also smiling. I chuckled and lightly squeezed their hands, then I ported us to where Bete was.
I let go of Wiene's and Cindy's hands and stepped forward several steps. "Hello Filvis, Ein." I greeted Filvis and the masked creature known as Ein, who is also Filvis's clone.
I snapped my fingers. I don't have to do anything when I use most of my 'magic' but I sometimes say something or do something so others know something has happened. Plus, in this world when someone uses magic, they have to say something.
When I snapped my fingers, I Nullified Filvis's Einsel magic, or her cloning magic. By Nullifying Filvis's Einsel magic, she will not be able to rejoin with her other half so Filvis and Ein will have to stay separate entities.
"Miss Filvis!" Lafia exclaimed at seeing Filvis alive.
"Lefiya, why are you here?" Filvis asked Lefiya while Ein looked at me.
"How are you here? I say you killed by… That masked person." Lefiya asked pointing at Ein.
I explained what had happened during the nightmare on the 27th floor and how Filvis had survived because a magic stone had been place in her chest. As well as Filvis's anguish of becoming a creature and constantly hearing the demi-spirit in her head, causing Filvis to follow its bidding.
Everyone was looking at me as I told Filvis's story. "How did you know?" Filvis asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I know some of the future, so I know about you. That is one reason you can't join back with your other half. I've blocked your Einsel magic." I told them.
"That is not possible." Ein replied.
I chuckled. "It is quite possible for me to do." I assured Ein. Then I turned to Filvis. "Filvis, I have a question for you." I started.
"W-what question?"
"If you had met Lefiya earlier, would you have done things differently?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter. I met Lefiya to late."
"That is not what I asked you. I want to know if you had met Filvis shortly after you had become a creature if you would have done things differently? Would have meeting Filvis earlier caused you to be yourself instead of a pawn in someone's scheme? If you had a fresh start, would, you, take it?" I asked.
Filvis looked over at Ein and nodded her head.
"Tsk!" Ein made a noise of disgust.
Filvis looked over at Ein, then to Lefiya then finally she looked at me. "Yes, if I had met Lefiya earlier, I would have done things much differently. I wish none of this had ever happened. I'm corrupted." Filvis declared, with anguish.
I nodded my head in understanding. "That's what I wanted to know." I told Filvis.
"You're not…!" Cindy exclaimed.
I nodded my head, yes. "She won't have a magic stone anymore." I told Cindy.
"[Dawn, put the name Filvis Challia, on one of the gravestones, please.]" I said and sent to Dawn in the graveyard on Pern, and I spelled out Filvis's full name for Dawn.
"That was stupid. Talking to yourself like that. You idiot." Bete told me.
I chuckled. "I wasn't talking to myself. I was sending a mental message to Dawn, the spirit that takes care of my graveyard. Any name I have Dawn put on one of the gravestones. That person, if they die will appear in front of the gravestone with their name on it, whole and healthy. That means, if Filvis were to die right now." I started then turned to Filvis. "She would appear in the graveyard whole and health and without the magic stone in her chest. Dawn would great her and welcome her to her new home." I explained.
A black shadow started rising up from the floor around both Filvis and Ein. Before either of them noticed it was there the shadow had enveloped them up to their necks.
""At the end of illusion, the spirptreturns - forming an unbreakable bond"" Both Filvis and Ein spoke the spell at the same time. ""Einsel."" They both said the spell's name, but…
Nothing happened. They didn't rejoin and become one person. Shock, surprise and fear ran across both Filvis's and Ein's faces.
"What happened!? What went wrong!?" Ein screamed.
"I told you I canceled your magic, so you can't rejoin." I told Ein and Filvis. I'll be seeing you in a minute." I told them.
"AAAAAAHHHHHGGGG!" Both Ein and Filvis screamed. right before they both went up in a cloud of smoke and ash. The shadow receded into the floor leaving two piles of ash and two magic stones.
Everyone in the room was staring at what remained of Filvis and Ein.
I turned to Lefiya and used Mind restore on her to take her mental state back before she met Filvis. Lefiya would still remember Filvis but she won't have as much of a mental connection with Filvis. Lefiya will greave the loss of Filvis but it will me more as if she had just met Filvis instead of Lefiya having a close relationship with her.
"They're both dead?" Bete said more than asked.
"Yes, they are. Now you can go help with the demi-spirit." I replied.
"How?" Asfi asked.
I chuckled. "Does it matter?" I asked in return.
"I guess not." Asfi replied still confused.
I turned to Ryu and held out my hand to her.
"Is what you said, true?" Ryu asked me.
"Is what true? Is it true that she will revive at a graveyard whole and heathy? Yes, that is true. My name was the first name on the mausoleum. Cindy's name is on one of the gravestones as well as Wiene, here." I told Ryu and I put an arm around Wiene.
Wiene snuggled into my embrace and smiled. "My name is really on one of those gravestones, so if I die, I'll go to the graveyard and be all right?" Wiene asked me.
I hadn't told Wiene, Fia, Sky or Mari that I had their names put on the gravestones or what happened if their names were on the gravestones.
I nodded my head, yes. "Yes, your name, as well as Sky's name, Fia's names, Mari's name and all the names of the members of my Team are on the gravestones." I assured Wiene.
"If I die and go the graveyard, I won't be a monster anymore?"
"You're not a monster now. But no, if you died and go to the graveyard you won't have a magic stone in your chest anymore." I told Wiene.
Wiene smiled. "That is good to know." And Wiene hugged me. "I love you." She told me.
I kissed Wiene on the top if her head. "I love you too, Sweetheart."
Ryu stood with her hand out still. I reached out and took Ryu's hand in mine. I released Wiene so I could put my other hand on topo of Ryu's hand as well. "And your name is on one of those gravestones as well. I want to make sure those that are close to me, I won't lose." I told Ryu.
"Just don't use that knowledge as an excuse to go crazy when you fight monsters or people." I chided her as I pulled Ryu in and hugged her to me.
Ryu stiffened up for a moment, then she slowly put her arms around me and returned my hug. "I would not do that. I would not want to waste my life like that." Ryu told me.
"That's good to hear." I told her.
At that time, Aisha, Haruhime and the Barbera entered the chamber we were in.
I released Ryu and turned to the group. "Hello Haruhime, Aisha. I'm sorry but you're not needed here anymore." I told them.
"BETE LOOOOGA!" Lena, one of the Berbara or ex-Berbara yelled and ran over to Bete.
Bete covered has face with his hand. "Not her again." He growled.
I looked at Cindy. "Could you keep her busy for a little while?" I asked her.
Cindy rolled her eyes. "If you insist." She replied.
I nodded my head, yes. "I insist and thank you."
I walked over to Bete and Lena. "Lena, would you talk to Cindy for a minute or two? I need to talk to Bete." I told Lena and put my hand on her shoulders and pushed her towards Cindy and Wiene.
I turned back to Bete. "I can fix this for you… for a price. Lena will think of you as a big brother and nothing else." I offered.
"If I just kill her, I won't owe you anything." Bete growled.
I chuckled. "I know you talk big, but you really don't want to kill her. Even though she is a pain the butt, you still have some respect for her tenacity. Besides I won't ask for too much in return. Just think of her as an adopted sister. Someone you are willing to spend a little time with and to teach to fight and survive in the Dungeon. That's not too much trouble considering she could be chasing you to mate with her for years to come." I suggested.
"I don't need a little sister, you idiot."
"Having an adopted little sister would be a lot better than a lovesick young girl that constantly want's your attention and refuses to leave you alone." I told him.
"I hate this. All right. I'd rather have a little sister than some harlot chasing me all the time." Bete finally admitted.
I turned to Cindy, Wiene and Lena. I reached into Lena's mind and planted deep in her mind that she thinks of Bete as a big brother. She respects him as a big brother and only as a big brother and that she wants to learn how to fight from Bete, but she knows there are limits she has to accept.
I turned back to Bete. "Say hello to your little sister." I told Bete and walked over to Cindy, Wiene and Ryu. I put an arm around Cindy.
I looked at the Berbera and the others in the chamber. "You might want to see about getting back to your original group and help them out." I suggested.
Ryu turned to me. "You told me Hestia would let me join her Familia." She stated.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, I did."
"I would like to join the Hestia Familia if I can, then." Ryu told me.
I smiled at Ryu. "After this is over with. I'll tell Hestia you want to join our Familia." I told her.
"Thank you." Ryu told me.
"Welcome to the Familia, Ryu." Cindy told Ryu.
"I'm not a member yet." Ryu replied.
Cindy shrugged her shoulders. "You will be, so it's the same thing." Cindy assured Ryu.
"Thank you." Ryu told Cindy.
Shortly after that the battle of Knossos ended with Bell charging his Argonaut Skill for a full five minutes and killing the seventh demi-spirit, they named Nidhogg. You could hear the ringing of limit off from Bell charging his Skill for that long.
==========
As Cindy, Wiene and I were leaving Knossos, we ran into some of the Loki Familia that were set up as a medical sight.
Bell was fast asleep sitting against the wall. He had made it back to where the Loki Familia had the medical sight set up, with Raul and a few other lower-level Loki Familia members were helping out. Bell wasn't hurt but he was worn out. All he really needed was some sleep which was what he was getting.
Ais was walking along the same tunnel Bell was in. Raul had just ran off to get one of the magic users that knew a healing spell to help Ais out, because all of their healing potions had already been used. Ais had informed Raul that she didn't need any healing, but Raul being Raul, he had to try to help Ais anyway.
Ais stopped when she saw Bell leaning against the wall. She knelt down to look at Bell. Then she sat down beside him. Bell shifted in his sleep and laid his head on Ais's shoulder.
Ais leaned over and whispered into Bell's ear. "You saved me." She told Bell. Then she laid her head against the top of Bell's head.
I watched all of this transpire from a little ways away. As Ais laid her head on Bell's head, I walked over to them, and I squatted down in front of Bell and Ais and I smiled at Ais.
"Bell saved you?" I said looking Ais in the eye.
Ais looked at me with eyes that looked like a deer caught in head lights, and she took in a quick breath of air. "Uh!" Her cheeks started turning pink.
"Wouldn't that make Bell… your hero?" I asked Ais as I looked over at Bell with his head still laying on Ais's shoulder. "You should let Bell know that." I finished as I stood up, Cindy, Wiene and I walked away.
Before I could take two steps, I heard Ais. "I'll decide who or what is a monster and who is not a monster." She said.
Continuing on down the tunnel, I could feel Ais's eyes on my back as we walked away from her and Bell.
==========
After the Battle of Knossos was over and we had a little time to rest. I went to Hestia.
"Hestia, do you remember Ryu?" I asked her.
"The Elf that has helped up out a time or two?" Hestia answered my question with her own question.
"That's her." I told Hestia.
"Why? What about her?" She asked with some curiosity on her face.
"She would like to join the Hestia Familia. If you are willing to take her in, that is." I informed Hestia.
"Miss Elf wants to join my Familia!?" Hestia said excitedly, her twin ponytails were swishing back and forth in her excitement. "She won't want my Bell, will she?" She added going from excitement to concern in the blink of an eye.
I chuckled. "No, she doesn't want Bell." I assured her.
"Ok, I'll let her join my Familia, then. When does she want to join?"
"As soon as I let her know. Then we'll need to help her move her belongings to the manor. Right now, she's living behind the restaurant." I told Hestia.
"Go tell her, she can join my Familia." Hestia told me shooing me out to get Ryu.
"I'll go tell her, but she'll probably have to wait until after she gets off work tonight." I told Hestia as I headed out the door.
I went to the Benevolent Mistress to talk to Ryu. I informed her that lady Hestia would let her join the Familia and that she would give Ryu her blessing that evening after Ryu gets off of work. I also told Ryu that we would help her move into the Hearthstone Manor.
That evening, I waited for Ryu to get off of work. I escorted Ryu back to the Hearthstone Manor.
"You didn't have to come here to walk me to Hearthstone Manor." Ryu told me as we walked along the almost empty street.
"I wasn't going to let a lady walk alone in the dark." I told Ryu.
"Thank you, but I am quite capable of taking care of myself as you know."
I chuckled. "That is beside the point. I gentleman should escort a lady after dark." I told Ryu as I reached over and took her hand in mine.
Ryu flinched at feeling me take her hand. But she stopped herself from pulling her hand away. So, Ryu and I walked hand in hand the rest of the way to Hearthstone Manor. With Malita and Taima following behind us in their cat forms.
Once at the Hearthstone Manor, I quickly found Hestia.
"Lady Hestia, you know Ryu. She's here to join our Familia." I said as a greeting.
Hestia grinned from ear to ear. "So, you want to join my Familia, Miss Elf?" Hestia asked Ryu.
"Yes, goddess Hestia." Ryu replied.
Hearing Ryu's reply, I Nullified her falna from Astrea.
"I have a suggestion before Hestia gives you her falna." I started.
"What suggestion?" Hestia asked.
"According to the Guild, Gale Wind is dead. Technically that means Ryu Lion is dead. I would suggest Ryu come up with a different name to use. I'm sure she could stick with Ryu, but she needs to come up with a different surname or last name, before you give her your falna." I suggested.
Hestia nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, that makes since. What do you think Miss Elf?" Hestia asked Ryu.
I leaned closer to Ryu. "If you haven't figured it out yet. Hestia's name for you is, Miss Elf. It's not an insult, it's just what she does with some people. Like Lili, Bell's supporter. Hestia calls her Supporter or Miss Supporter.
Hestia giggled.
"I'm not sure what name I should take." Ryu stated.
"Ok, how about we go into the dining room, and we can go over some possible surnames for you." I suggested.
"Yes, please." Ryu replied.
"That sounds like a good idea." Hestia said.
I escorted Ryu to the dining room and offered her a seat. I sat down beside her and Hestia sat across the table.
I created a copy of my interdimensional lap top computer and pulled up names that mean elf or lion.
"What's that?" Hestia asked me, pointing to the laptop.
Since it would take too long to explain what it really was, I lied to Hestia and Ryu. "It's something I made using my Enigma Skill. I can put all kinds of information into it and pull up the information I want later." I explained.
"That's useful." Hestia told me.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, it is." I replied as I did a search for surnames that mean elf or would make a good elf surname and lion.
It took a few minutes for me to gather a short list.
"Okay, I've found four fairly good names. Algar, which means elf spear, Elric which means elf ruler. Although I don't think Ryu would want that as a last name, but I don't think anyone here would know what it means. Nightstar, it doesn't really have any specific meaning, but since she gets a boost with one or two of her skills at night, Nightstar kind of makes since. And last is Leon, (pronounced lee-on) and means lion." I told Ryu and Hestia what I had found that I thought would be the better names.
"I'm not royalty so you are correct that Elric would not be my choice of a name." Ryu admitted.
"That leaves Algar, Nightstar and Leon." I reiterated.
"You can always stay in your chianthrope form. That way the Guild wouldn't know who you are, and your name wouldn't make much of a difference. I'm just trying to stay close to your old name and also something that will be fairly easy to remember until you get used to using it." I told Ryu.
Ryu nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, I can stay in my chiethrope form. I could do that. I think that would leave out Algar since it means elf spear." Ryu put in.
"Okay, that leaves Nightstar and Leon." I listed the last two names.
"Because Leon means lion. Wouldn't that leave Leon out as well?" Hestia asked.
"Not necessarily. Lion can represent bravery, loyalty and ferocity as well as a few other things. So, it would still work." I replied.
After thinking about it for several minutes, Ryu made her decision. "I think I'll go with Nightstar. That way no one should connect it to Gale Wind, and I should be able to remember it fairly easily. And as lord Eilwyn said, if I stay in my chienthrope form no one should make the connection to me being Ryu Lion, Gale wind." Ryu stated.
"I guess that settles it then. We can go up to our apartment and Hestia can give you her falna up there. After you change form that is." I said.
Ryu nodded her head in agreement. "That would be fine." Ryu said.
I stood up from the table. "Lady Hestia, if you would." I said and motioned with my hand for her to lead the way. Then I looked at Ryu. "I'll show you where my Team's apartment is." I told her and held out my hand to help her out of her chair and to stand up.
Ryu looked at my hand for a moment. Then she reached out and took hold of my hand and stood up.
Hestia led the way to the third floor, then to my sitting room. Inside the room I pointed to the massage chair and explained how to sit on it.
Ryu shifted to her chienthrope form. She turned and looked at me.
"Oh, sorry, Ryu Nightstar. The members of my Team aren't bashful." I said and walked over to the door to the PD. I opened the door, walked through, then closed the door behind me and waited.
After waiting several minutes, Hestia opened the door to the PD. "Ryu's finished. She is now a full-fledged member of my Familia." She told me with a big grin on her face. "She ranked up to level five. She should rank up to level six pretty soon. I guess it's all those years without having her status updated that she ranked up and will be able to rank up again so quickly." Hestia told me, then she looked at me. "But then… with you and your Team I shouldn't be surprised that someone in my Familia can rank up so fast." She added.
I chuckled.
=====
Ryu Nightstar received a new Spell. The rest of us didn't learn about it until later:
Astraea Record: Astraea Record allows Ryuu to use magic from other people who have received Astraea's falna. When she says its name, hieroglyphs of light in the shape of Astrea Familia's emblem shine under her feet. As she recites the chant countless crystals of light float and surround her like stars.
The crystals create a 5 meters radius area that protects her from any attack, which has received the name "star sanctuary". The barrier is strong enough to fend off the assault of multiple second-class adventurers. Once she finishes chanting the crystals are absorbed into Ryuu's body and she can cast the desired magic. Ryuu only needs to say the name of the magic she wants to use, skipping its chant.
Agaris Alvesynth: Alise's powerful fire enchant magic. It covers Ryuu's legs, hands, and sword with fire. It can also release a torrent of flames through a sword and generate explosions. However, due to her inexperience Ryuu still can't control its firepower as well as Alise.
Gokou: Kaguya's magic that creates blades of lights that move at the same time as Ryuu makes a slash with her real sword. When used together with the sword-drawing technique of the same name, it creates five god-speed magic slashes from different positions which surround the enemy.
Rea Vindemia: Maryuu's wide-area healing magic that can heal wounds and restore stamina.
Mūs Mine: Lyra's magic that creates a minefield.
Irivute: Ryana’s fire magic.
Other Magic: Apart from the magic already listed, Ryuu can also use: A speed increase magic from Noin, A magic that grants an impenetrable defense from Asta, A magic that releases wind claws from Neze, A magic which launches a two-fist attack from Iska, and A lightning magic from Celty.
=====
I went back to the sitting room where Ryu was. "You can pick out a bedroom now if you want to." I offered.
Ryu pointed to the door I had just walked through. "Where does that go? It looks like it opens into the air over the courtyard." She inquired.
"That's my Team's appartement. This room is what we call our sitting room." I told Ryu and opened the door to the PD. "This door opens onto a Pocket Dimension or PD for short." I told her.
"How can you get all of this land and a house in the manor?" Ryu asked.
I explained about my accident and receiving all kinds of abilities and powers and that one of those abilities I received, I could create these PD's. I reminded Ryu about me able to give her Malita.
"There are still a few bedrooms free in our appartement, if you would like to take one of those. Or you can take one of the bedrooms in the Manor. If you take a bedroom in the manor, you can still use the yard, pond, the beach and ocean in the PD all you want. And you are very welcome to visit us in the house in the PD." I told Ryu. "If the weather is bad, like when it's raining or cold. We usually get several of our friends in the PD so they can be out in the sun and where it's warm."
"May I see the bedrooms in both the manor and the… PD?" Ryu asked.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Sure, you can." I told Ryu and escorted her to the house. I gave Ryu a full tour of the house and yard. "In the PD, each bedroom has its own bathroom, plus there are boy's and girl's shared bath house in the hallway." I told her.
Then I took Ryu back out to the manor and showed her a couple of the empty bedrooms she could pick from. "Each floor has its own bathrooms, but there are large far eastern bath houses on the main floor you can use as well. When we first moved here, we had the place renovated and Hestia let Mikoto design those two bathrooms." I explained.
After seeing the different bedroom, Ryu chose a bedroom just down the hall from our sitting room in the manor. I can understand why Ryu didn't take one of the empty bedrooms in the PD. Being an elf it wouldn't look proper for her to be living in a smaller house while I'm living there as well. Living in a manor with males was expected if the Familia was made up of both males and females. Besides her room was close enough that she could use the big bath house in the PD if she wanted to.
With Ryu's bedroom picked out. "We'll help you move your belongings in the morning. If you want you can quit working at the Benevolent Mistress and just be an adventurer, or you can work at the Winged Manticore." I offered.
"The Winged Manticore? What is that?" Ryu asked.
"The Hestia Familia opened an armory, a home and hearth store and a restaurant just a few blocks from here. Anya is working part time at the Restaurant, the Winged Manticore. She also works part time Dungeon diving." I told Ryu. "And Miach moved the Blue Pharmacy into the building as well.
"May I work part time at the Winged Manticore and part time as an adventurer like Anya?" Ryu asked.
I nodded my head I agreement. "That would be fine. Just give Mama Mia a two week notice that you're quitting. After that you can either start working at the restaurant or you can spend a few days or even a few weeks in the Dungeon before you start working part time at both. I'm sure Anya would like to go into the Dungeon with you and I'm sure we could find you a supporter if you want one. I'm fairly sure Wiene, Sky and Fia would be happy to join you in the Dungeon as well. They are all level four. With them being level four, you will have to stay in the higher levels, but after we spent that time on the 37th floor. You might not want to go down too deep for a while anyway." I said.
"I will think about what I want to do while I'm working my last two weeks at Mama Mia's." Ryu Nightstar the chienthrope told me.

Sword Oritoria, Chapter 9
Getting ready to go into Knossos
While the Hestia Familia was in the Dungeon on our first expedition, the Loki Familia was preparing for their attack on Knossos. Or rather their first attack which will be a mapping of Knossos to prepare for the second full attack on Knossos.
Since the Freya Familia has been disbanded, Ais can't go to Ottar to learn to get stronger. Plus, Ais remembered what I told her That she was to come to me when and if she wanted to get stronger so I can train her. Ais visited, the Hestia home, the Hearthstone Manor and asked me if I would train her. I took Ais to the PD where she and I will live for the next several days while I train her. Ais is astonished by how strong I am even though I'm only a level 4.
==========
Right after my Team and I reported our rank up to the Guild. Ais came to Hearthstone Manor. Ais pounded on the door. "I'm coming for thee!" She called out.
Inside the manor, Haruhime ran into the dining room, where she found Hestia, Cindy, Wiene, Mari, Welf, Sky and I sitting around the table. "Someone is pounding on the door!" Haruhime declared with fear and concern on her face and in her voice. "They said 'I'm coming for thee,' while they were pounding on the door." She added.
Hestia started to get up. "Why would anyone be pounding on our door like that, and why the hell say, 'I'm coming for thee'?" she asked.
"I know who it is. It's Ais, and I believe she wants me to train her." I told Hestia and the others. "Loki told her that she should pound on the door and say, 'I'm coming for thee', when she is offering a challenge." I said as I stood up.
"I'll answer the door and make sure." I said and I turned and left the room.
"I'll join you if you don't mind." Cindy said when I reached the door to the hall.
"I want to go too." Wiene offered.
I Turned and looked at Cindy and Wiene and nodded my head in agreement. "If you want to come with me, that's fine." I told them and turned back to the door and walked out into the hall.
As I reached the front door, Wiene and Cindy were close behind be. Hestia had also followed me into the living room.
"Why would Wallen-whatever want you to train her? And why should I allow you to train her." Hestia asked me.
"Ais wants me to train her so she can get stronger. As for why you should allow me to train her. Orario's existence in on the line." I told Hestia.
I turned back to the door and opened it and looked out. "Hello Ais." I said as I looked at her. I opened the door wide enough that Hestia, Wiene and Cindy could see who was there.
Ais looked from me to Hestia then to Cindy and lasty to Wiene, then she looked back at me. "I want you to train me." She told me as she looked at the ground.
I looked over at Hestia. Hestia nodded her head, yes. I turned back to Ais. "I'll train you, but you owe me one." I told Ais.
Still looking at the ground. "As long as it is personal and does not involve my Familia." Ais replied.
"It is just between you and me." I assured her.
"Thank you." Ais replied.
"I'll give you two weeks of training." I said as I turned to Taima. "Please, tell my Team and Welf I'll be leaving for Pern in half an hour. If you see anyone else you can let them know as well, including Fia, Mari and Sky." I asked Taima.
"On it." Taima said with a grin and headed off to our apartment.
"Two weeks? I don't have that much time." Ais complained.
"Yes, you do. I could train you for a month and you would have more than enough time to help with the expedition. I'll be taking you to Pern, I'm sure you remember. I took you there while we were at Edas village" I assured Ais.
"Yes, I remember." Ais replied.
A half an hour later I opened a portal to Pern. Cindy, Iris, Kimmy, Rosni, Welf, Wiene, Sky, Fia, Ais and I, all walked through the portal. Once everyone was on Pern I closed the portal.
"All right!" Welf exclaimed as we walked into the Green House entry way. "I've got two weeks to make weapons and armor." He said excitedly.
"You know, if you use gravity dust in armor. It will make the armor lighter." I suggested.
"Wow, I didn't know that. That would make heavy armor much lighter to wear. I can make a lot of money adding gravity Dust to armor. I'm headed to the Lab." Welf replied and headed down the hall to The Lab.
I chuckled at Welf's enthusiasm.
I gave Ais another quick tour of the house so she would know where the Cafe, the Armory's Sparring room and the apartment she would be using to sleep in would be.
I led Ais back to the Sparring room. "I'm not going to be the only one training you. Because we really don't know Levis's fighting style, I thought it would be good for you to train with people with different fighting styles." I told Ais.
"I see. Who is going to train me?"
"Cindy, Kimmy, Iris and myself."
"But all of you are only level four. How are you going to train me?"
I grinned. "Back in Orario we are all level four, but we're not in Orario right now. Besides, I'm able to take you and anyone else to different universes. One of my Team members is supposed to be an angel that was cast out by her 'god' because she was going to use a device to help some people, but the device was way overpowered. Another Team member is a dragon that spends most of her time in human form. And the other member of my Team is a total bundle of energy that seems to never wear out or run down. I'm sure we will be able to train you and then some." I assured Ais.
With that said, I summoned Sasori, my naginata. "It begins." I said and took a fighting stance.
Ais drew Maelstrom from its scabbard and flicked it. You could hear the whoosh as it sliced through the air. Then she lunged at me. I moved Sasori and blacked her thrust. Ais gave me a blank look for a moment, then she came at me again. Again I blocked her attack.
"Put everything you have into it." I told Ais.
Ais looked shocked for a moment before her face went back to her blank expression. "Awaken Tempest." She said and I could feel the air flowing around her and in the room.
Again, Ais came at me brining Maelstrom up at a diagonal strike. I blocked the attack and moved Sasori's handle knocking Ais' feet out from under her causing her to fall to the floor.
It went on like that for the next four hours, when I called for a break. Ais was covered in bruises and cuts.
"Let's take a short break and get a drink." I said and healed Ais of her injuries.
"Okay." Ais replied softly.
I lead Ais to the Cafe and found a seat at one of the smaller tables and sat down. Ais took the seat across from me. As we took our seats a young girl walked out from the back and walked over to our table. She had a name tag on with the name Maddie on it. Maddie is the youngest daughter of the Cafe's owners.
"Hello lord Eilwyn, what may I get you today?" Maddie asked.
I smiled at Maddie. "Hi, Maddie. I'd like a sweet tea and get one for Ais as well." I gave Maddie the order. "Maddie, this is Ais, I'm training her in fighting. Ais, this is Maddie. Her parents own and run the Cafe." I made introductions.
"Hello Ais. It is nice to meet you." Maddie said.
"Yes, it is nice to meet you, Maddie." Ais replied.
"I'll get your order." Maddie said and headed back to the kitchen.
Ais watched Maddie walk to the kitchen then she looked at me. "Isn't she a little young to be working?" She asked.
"Maddie's parents own the Cafe so they can let her work if they want to. They have several other children that help them run the Cafe as well." I replied.
"Oh." Ais said.
Shortly Maddie brought our drinks out and sat them on the table. "Thank you, Maddie." I told her.
Maddie smiled and replied. "You're welcome." And walked back to the kitchen.
I took a drink and sat the glass back on the table. Ais stared at her drink, not picking it up.
"You're only a Level four but I wasn't able to land one strike against you. How did you get so strong?" Ais finally asked me.
"I get asked that a lot. I believe I already told you that, that information is a Familia secret… But I'll tell you if you promise to never reveal what I tell you to anyone." I offered.
"You have my word." Ais replied.
"I don't know." I honestly replied.
"What!?" Ais exclaimed.
I chuckled. "I don't really know how I got so strong. I come from a place where people fly through the air in machines, and we use cars to travel on the ground. Cars could be called horseless carriages." I started.
Ais gave me a blank stare.
"I was driving in the country when my car flipped, and I was thrown out. The accident should have killed me. But while I was flying through the air I blacked out. In the darkness I heard a voice and when I woke up, Taima was looking down at me in her human form. After that I was able to do a lot of different things. I received abilities and powers I never would have believed I would ever be able to do. Those abilities included great strength, dexterity, agility and durability." I finished. I picked up my glass and took another drink.
"Is that why you can come here?"
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, that is why I can come here and why I can go to Orario, and why I can go to several other universes."
Ais picked up her glass and took a drink with a thoughtful look on her face. "I see." She said as she put the glass back on the table.
"Drink up so we can get back to your training." I told Ais as I picked up my glass and drank down what remained in it. Placing the glass back on the table, I stood up.
Ais took another drink and stood up as well. She followed me back to the sparring room.
We spent the next three hours sparring. Ais spent most of the time getting knocked down, bruised, banged up and cut. I think Ais was beginning to see what Bell went through when she trained him.
We took another short break, then we went back to the sparring room, and I trained Ais for another three hours.
As we were leaving the sparing room I healed Ais. "There is a bath in the master bedroom. You can use it if you want to. It's a huge natural pool for bathing. Although you might not be the only one in there. Everyone in my household uses that bath house. Or you can go to the back yard and swim in the ocean." I offered.
"Thank you." Ais replied.
"Cindy will be here in the morning to train you." I informed Ais.
"Okay." Was all Ais said in reply.
Cindy spent the day training Ais the next day. Then Kimmy took the next day to training Ais, then it was Iris's turn to train Ais. After that we rotated again starting with me again.
The days my Team was training Ais. I would stop by to see how her training was going. The rest of the time I spent taking care of my Hold and spending time with Wiene, Fia, Mari, Sky and the other girls in the Hold. Wiene really liked swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand on the beach. Sky and Fia liked being able to fly in their natural forms.
The last two days I trained Ais. On Ais' thirteenth day of training. "You're not using all of your abilities and power." I told Ais.
Ais just looked at me.
"When you fight Levis what are you fighting?" I asked rhetorically. "Your fighting a human and you're not putting everything you have into the fight. Levis is a monster. It does not matter that she looks human. She is a monster, just like a harpy, a siren, a mermaid or a lamia are monsters. They look human but they are monsters. That is how you need to fight Levis, as a monster and give it everything you have. Use your black fire. Use it without letting it consume you. Use your black fire and let it become a part of you. You control the black fire, don't let it controle you." I instructed Ais.
At the end of the thirteenth day, I gave Ais a Companion.
"You might have noticed all the animals running around both here and in Orario." I said to Ais.
"Yes, I have." Ais replied.
"They are not animals. They are what I call Companions. They each have higher status than normal and some other abilities that they share with their partner. You have to get used to having yours in your mind most of the time because you and your Companion can talk to each other like we are right now and also telepathically or mind to mind." I started as a small snow leopard walked into the room and walked up to Ais. "She can also Blink. That means she can teleport up to three hundred feet in line of sight, and because she can Blink, that means you can blink as well. Because anything she can do, you can do. So, take the rest of the day to get to know Binu and I'll see you in the morning. Binu can tell you what all she and now you can do and you can ask anyone here about the Companions and they will be happy to answer any of your questions." I said and walked away.
Automaton/Manticore/F (Bird of Prey, Snow Leopard, Scorpion) Name: Binu/F (Created with Immense Power) Mythical Size L2 Regeneration L2 Sustenance L2 Intelligence L2 Strength L2 Agility L1 Durability L2 Flight Teleportation L1 Shapeshifting L1 (Forms: Scorpion, Hawk, Snow Leopard, Horse (Percheron), Red Fox) Elemental Blast L1 (Earth) Magical L1 (Dancing Lights, Mend, Ghost Sounds) Venom L1 (Tail stinger, Paralysis)
=====
The next morning, I walked into the Bakery. Ais was already in the Bakery with Binu. I walked over and sat down across the table from Ais.
"Are you ready for your last day of training?" I asked.
Ais looked at me. "Y-yes I'm ready." She replied.
I gave my order to Grandma and as I waited for my food. "Today we're going to work on, Blinking. That is, we will work on how you can use your new short range teleportation ability, Blink for defense and offence in fights." I told Ais.
"I see. Binu told me more about that last night. I want to learn how to use… Blink when fighting." Ais admitted.
After we had eaten breakfast, I lead Ais out the front door of the Hold. Since I was going to be teaching Ais how to Blink. I figured the more space we had the better.
"When you Blink, you have to be able to see where you want to Blink to. Your destination can be two feet in front of you or three hundred feet. But you have to be able to see where you want to go to. When you Blink you can also reorient yourself. That means you can be facing one direction before you Blink but when you arrive you can be facing a different direction. That way when you are fighting a person or a monster, you can Blink behind them, but still be facing them after you Blink." I explained to Ais.
We spent the first four hours just practicing how to Blink. We worked on finding a place to Blink to at different distances. Then we worked on reorienting our direction when we Blink. Not only did this teach Ais and give her some practice. It also helped me because I don't use Blink that often. So, this gave me a chance to practice using Blink as well.
We also worked on Ais's Air Creation and Control from her sword, Maelstrom, so Ais would be able to use air to attack with and not just use as armor.
By the end of the day, Iris, Cindy, Kimmy and I were all fighting Ais. Or rather Ais was using her Blink ability to fight us so she could learn to use Blink to fight more than one enemy at the same time.
"Take some time to relax and I'll take us all back to Orario in the morning." I told Ais.
"Thank you." Ais told me. "To all of you." She included my Team.
I explained about if Binu was to be killed that she would reappear in twenty-four hours healthy and whole. "I would suggest that when you go into Knossos that you leave Binu at home. I know she won't like that, but there is no telling what might happen in there. Besides, it prevents her from being used against you by Levis or anyone else. And if there is any reason, she really needs to get to you, she can port to you at any time." I added.
======
The next morning, I opened a portal to our apartment in Orario. Once everyone was back in Orario I closed the portal.
I explained to Ais that in Orario time we had been gone only one minute, and I explained the time distortion when going to different universes.
I turned to Ais. "Have Loki update your status. Then one minute later have her update your status again." I told Ais.
Ais looked at me confused. "Why would I need to have my status updated twice?" She asked.
"Because the first update will be what you received from your training. While the second update will be what you get from your training plus what you get from Binu." I informed Ais.
"Oh, I see." Ais replied.
"You should tell Loki to find out about how Nidhogg was killed. You should also tell her that there are seven demi-spirits in Knossos not just one. Six main demi-spirits and one back up demi-spirit that they call Nidhogg." I informed Ais.
"I will tell Loki. Thank you." Ais said. "And thank you again for training me." Ais thanked me again.
Right before Ais could walk away. "As for your payment to me." I started.
Ais turned back and looked at me with concern on her face. "Y-yes?" Ais stuttered.
"For my payment, I want you to consider me and my Team as good friends. We want you to feel welcome to come to Hearthstone Manor any time you want to talk to us, to go swimming or to just get away from your worries." I told Ais. "I would really like for you to consider us as… family."
"Oh! Yes! I would like that." Ais replied with excitement in her voice and on her face. "I very much would like to call all of you, friends and family."
"Now you have another sister." Iris said with a giggle.
I nodded my head in agreement. "I like that. Another sister."
With that Ais left to go back to Twilight Manor.
==========
Ouranus talked to Loki and Igashu/Fels. Telling Loki who the Igashu Familia really was and how they could help in the mapping expedition and later on in the actual attack on Knossos. Loki wasn't sure about using intelligent monsters, but she did admit they needed all the help they could get. So, she accepted the help of the Igashu Familia.

Sword Oritoria Chapter 8
Orario sewers in search of a way into the Dungeon
Iris, Kimmy, Cindy and I were in the sewers of Orario. I had 'heard' that Loki and some of her Familia were headed down into the sewers looking for a certain person named Barca although they don't know his name. Although they thought they had found an entrance to the Dungeon although it is really an entrance to Knossos. We are positioned a short ways from the entrance to Knossos waiting for Loki and company to arrive.
Our Companions were back at Hearthstone Manor. They didn't want to venture into the sewers with us and I didn't blame them. We wouldn't be down here if it wasn't for the Loki Familia searching the sewers in the first place.
We didn't have to wait very long before Loki, Riveria, Gareth, Finn and the others showed up.
"Who are you!" Gareth demanded when he was us.
I turned to look at Gareth. "You forgot about us so soon?" I asked grinning at him.
"You!" Finn said. "Why are you here?" He almost demanded.
"Is that how you treat people that saved your butts on the 50th floor and the 59th floor?" I replied to Finn.
"As for why we are here. We are here to give you a warning. Knossos, the area you are headed to, is a trap. The Ikalos Familia as well as Thanatos and his Familia are down there with Barca, a descendent of Daedalus. As well as Valletta and Levis and they have a large number of cursed weapons at their disposal." I informed them. "I have my own plans to deal with several members of the Ikalos Familia, so in a month or so over half of the Ikalos Familia will no longer be a problem. When I've done my part, I'll let you know so you can deal with Ikalos and the rest of his Familia. You should also know; they have a pedestal they can use to see everywhere in the Knossos labyrinth. Because of that they can open and close doors to trap you and to release monsters so they can attack you." I informed them.
Loki looked at me thoughtfully "You know an offal lot about what's goin' on in there." She stated suspiciously.
"If you're implying, I'm involved with Ikalos, Thanatos and Enyo. You would be one hundred and eighty degrees off. I'm just here to warn you that you're headed into a trap and if you go ahead and head on into it, you could lose several of your followers." I told Loki. "And you should also know, they have demi-spirits in there. Several of them infact." I added.
I created three Daedalus orbs and handed them to Loki. "These will help you out. They are Called Daedalus Orbs. They are keys that open and close the orichalcum doors. There are even a few of the doors set into the floor, they use as pit traps." I told Loki. "And for your information. If a 'god' dies in Knossos it will trigger an alter to release or create plant flesh to a degree it will fill all of Knossos in a matter of minutes, devouring everything organic in its way."
"How do you know all of this?" Finn asked me.
I grinned. Since I'm dealing with Loki the trickster… "I read it in a book." I replied.
I turned and looked towards the entrance of Knossos. "Isolation!" I said, putting Thanatos, Barca, Dax and Levis in isolation, which locks them in their own heads with no input of any kind. They do not hear, see, feel or taste anything and they cannot communicate in any way. "I just made it a little easier for you. I just put Thanatos, Barca, the creature Levis and Valletta out of commission for a few hours. Although I allowed them to hear what was going on, so they won't go insane." I told Loki as I motioned for my Team to follow me out of the sewers.
"W-what do you mean you made is easier for us? What are you talking about?" Loki called to my back as we walked away.
After walking a few feet, I stopped and turned around. "If any of your Familia happen to die in Knossos, which I hope does not happen, but if it does. They are mine." I told Loki, then I turned to the Loki party. "If you happen to find yourselves in a graveyard. Say hello to the caretaker for me. Her name is Dawn. And let her know I'll be seeing to her shortly." I said loud enough for everyone there to hear me. I turned back around and headed out of the sewers as I heard murmuring from those in the Loki battle party.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Loki called out from behind me.
I didn't reply, I just walked away.
==========
While we were in the sewers with the Loki Familia. I did a little searching of their minds. I wanted to find out all of the names of the people that would be going in with Leene. Once I had all the names in their party I went to Pern and gave the list to Dawn, the Spirit Grave tender so she could put their names on some of the tomb stones. That way if they are killed while in Knossos or anywhere else for that matter, they would find themselves healthy and whole in the graveyard in the front yard of my house on Pern. They will probably be confused, but that's better than being dead.
I also instructed Dawn to explain what happened to them if any of them did happen to show up, and where they can go to find any of the girls living in the house.
With what I had done by putting the leaders of the Evilus group in "Isolation". It would change what happens in Knossos, but I wanted to make sure any of the Loki Familia members that died in the Light Novels would be safe even with the changes I had made.
==========
Back on Pern
Things are starting to get interesting. After finding AVAIS everyone was wanting to go south to find out what was really happening at Landing or to help discover and rebuild the past.
My Hold was doing well. We had set up six minor holds for when people were ready to move south. They were all between Tel Aviv Hold and Billings Hold. It gave each Hold plenty of room and they were still fairly close to the main Hold, and within easy walking distance of each other.
Mercedes had finished putting together all the equipment for the radio station. I decided to set it up between Tel Aviv Hold and Billings Hold. That way it would be almost dead center of my holding. The main building for the radio station was set up and the equipment installed. While the radio tower was still waiting to be put up. We had all the parts, we just needed to install it, and it should be put up within the week.
We had finished setting up the shops at Landing in what I have named 'The Market'. The girls working at the restaurant and the shop aren't doing much business yet, although they were getting a few customers. I suggested they give out free samples of the food they're selling, so the people arriving at Landing and living there will know what they are making and selling and what it tastes like.
I've spent several weeks trying to decide who to give Companions to. I already knew I would give most of the Dragonriders Companions, to help them to not get Thread scored and to heal faster if they do happen to get Thread scored or hurt. But I needed to check out each person I wanted to give a Companion to, to make sure they wouldn't take advantage of the Companion's abilities and go rogue. Although I can give people Companions that do not have durability and/or regeneration. Or If I do give them durability and regeneration I can reduce their strength. Meaning the regeneration is 1/4th as fast and do the same for durability. I can also give Companions that don't have a breath weapon or magic and so on.
I want to be fair about who gets a Companion, but I also don't think everyone should get one. Or I could give Companions to people as gifts and for most of the dragonriders and Lord Holders I can give durability, Level 1 regeneration and Sustenance. That way Companions would be rare and only those that I believe deserve them would get one. That sounds like the best idea.
With AIVAS uncovered a lot was starting to happen. More people, as in Lord Holders and Craft Masters were showing up wanting to know what was going on and to hear the story of finding Pern.
It didn't take long before F'lar asked AIVAS how to eradicate Thread permanently. Right after that was when activity at Landing really picked up.
I suggested to Mercedes that she might like to help assemble the computer stations. With Mercedes helping with that project, they would have someone that knows what they are doing, other than AVAIS, that is.
==========
At the end of the week, I opened a portal so Welf, Cindy, Iris, Kimmy and I could go to Pern as usual. There was a difference this time when we arrived, because today there were two people standing in the graveyard talking to Dawn as we walked by.
"Hello Dawn. Who are your friends?" I asked, although I had an idea of who they might be.
The two people turned around to see who was talking. A male cat person glared at me and pointed a finger at me. "You! How did you bring us here. You said we would come here.!" He demanded.
"Hello Leena, Lloyd. How are y'all, and no I didn't say you would come here. I said if any of the Loki Familia going into Knossos that happened to die would come here. That means the two of you died in the Knossos dungeon." I started to explain.
"What do you mean we died!?" Leena demanded.
Welf gave his usual cheeky grin. "You can explain all of this to me later." Welf told me and headed to the front door of the house. My Team followed after Welf into the Hold.
"Ya, see you later." I replied to Welf and chuckled.
I turned back to Lloyd and Leena. "Just that. Y'all went into the Knossos dungeon and for some reason or another you were killed there. Am I correct?" I questioned Leena.
"Some crazy guy wearing goggles! He attacked Lloyd with a black spear. I tried to heal him but none of the cuts would close. Then he came at me…" Leena told me.
"That was Dax of the Ikalos Familia. He was using a cursed blade. Lloyd bled out, I'm guessing, and since you tried to heal him Dax went after you as well." I tried to explain. "I didn't think Dax would get involved. He tends to do his own thing going after intelligent monsters." The last I said more to myself than to Lloyd and Leena.
"Why are we here?" Lloyd asked. "Is this heaven?"
"What do you mean intelligent monsters?" Leena added.
"Well, that's kind of a difficult question to answer. You see, I had Dawn, here, put your names on two of the gravestones." I said and pointed to Dawn then to the gravestones with their names on them. "If your name is on one of these gravestones, when you die, you appear in front of your gravestone whole and healthy. It's not heaven from where you came from, but I think it's pretty close to heaven. It's called Pern and this is my home." I told them pointing to the house.
I turned to Leena. "Yes, intelligent monsters. For some unknown reason even to Ouranos, the Dungeon spawns' intelligent monsters from time to time. Right now, there are only thirty to forty intelligent monsters living in the Dungeon. They don't want to fight humans, but they do defend themselves if they are attacked by humans. Unfortunately for them, other monsters attack them as well. So, they have it twice as hard as normal monsters." I explained.
"That's not possible, there is no way there could be intelligent monsters!" Leena exclaimed.
I shrugged my shoulders. "As far as the two of you are concerned it doesn't matter any more." I told them.
"Speaking of which. I've neglected my duties." I said and turned to Dawn. "I've given everyone else in the Hold a Companion, but I didn't give you one." I apologized, and a small Titanium Dragon flew up to Dawn and landed on her shoulder.
Eabha/F (to live) Mythical - Titanium Dragon, Lizard/Golden Eagle Colors: Pink, light blue, peach, green Regeneration L2 Size L2 Sustenance L2 Intelligence L2 Durability L2 Flight Shapeshifting L1 (Forms: Eagle, Bearded Dragon, Horse, house cat) Agility L1 Magical L2 (Dancing Lights, Mending, Cleaning, servant,) Teleportation L1 Speed L1 Strength L1 Agility L1 Elemental attack L1 (Fire)
At seeing a dragon, Lloyd and Leena went into defensive mode getting ready to attack the dragon.
I stepped in between Lloyd, Leena and Eabha to stop them from attacking Eabha. "Eabha's not a monster to be killed. She's very friendly unless you attack her or Dawn or anyone else that lives here." I started to explain. "And you have to remember, you no longer have Loki's falna so your no stronger than any normal person."
"That's not possible!" Lloyd exclaimed.
"You died in Knossos. Other than not being reborn as a baby and not knowing about your past lives. What is not possible about you being here?" I asked.
Both Lloyd and Leena just stared at me with shocked expressions on their faces.
"How did we get here and what are we supposed to do if what you said is true?" Leena asked.
"Yes, what I have told you is 100% true. As I said, your names were put on the tomb stones so when you died you came here. That is how you got here. About what you're supposed to do. You can do just about anything you want to. I own the land we are on, so you could work for me if you want to. You could apprentice under Verdi and Heather and learn about raising cattle or you could apprentice under Snowdrop and Violet and learn about orchards and gardening. We also have a couple stores at a place called Landing you could work at. You don't have to stay here with me, but I would suggest you stick around for a while until you learn about your new home." I suggested.
"Can we go back to Orario?" Lloyd asked me, hopefully.
"You died there. They buried your bodies in the Adventurer's Cemetary. What do you think would happen if you turned up after your Familia put, you're bodies in the ground?" I countered.
"They burried us already? They think we're dead?" Leena inquired.
"You died in Orario so, yes you are dead there and they buried your bodies." I agreed.
"I don't know what they would think if we showed up, now." Leena said with shock and worry on her face.
"So, we're stuck here?" Lloyd said more then asked.
I chuckled. "I wouldn't put it quite that way, but yes, you are here for the rest of your lives." I informed them. "Just think of it as if you converted to a different Familia and now you are members of my Familia here on Pern." I tried to make it easier for them to adjust to being on Pern.
"That kind of makes since. We're just in a different Familia that's not in Orario." Leena said.
"I think I can go with that. It does kind of make since." Lloyd added.
"Where are we going to live then?" Leena looked at Lloyd and asked.
"I don't know." Lloyd answered her.
"As I said before, you can work for me for now. You'll get a place to stay, food and a little spending money. Although they don't use valis here, they use what they call Marks for money. I'll show you where your rooms are if you want to stick around. But I will warn you there are hazards here that can kill you if you don't know what to look out for." I offered.
Leena and Lloyd looked at each other for a few moments. "What do you think?" Leena asked Lloyd.
Lloyd made a face and shrugged his shoulders. "It's all we have for now." He admitted.
I turned to Dawn. "Before I show these two the house. I know a lot of what Eabha's abilities are you don't need, but they will help her. Plus, she does have some abilities I'm sure you can use. She can go to the theater and watch a show and you can see it through her eyes. And you can have a conversation with anyone through Eabha. It's not perfect, but at least you will get to see some shows and talk to people when they're not here with you."
Dawn gave me a big smile. "Thank you, lord Eilwyn. It was generous of you to give me Eabha. I'll cherish her for as long as I live." Dawn told me.
"You are more than welcome." I replied.
Turning back to Leena and Lloyd, I smiled. "Follow me." I said and gave them the fifty-cent tour of the house. Ending the tour, I showed then the Cafe, the Bakery and the apartment they could use.
I gave Lloyd Normalization. "I will let you know that outside my Hold. A Hold is what they call your house and/or land you own. So, a Hold can be hundreds of square miles. But, as I was saying, outside of my Hold there are no demi-humans. And so you know, this world is a lot different than back in Orario. There is no magic here, no potions for healing or anything else like that. Although with what the two of you did in Orario. I would say you are probably above average in strength, durability and agility. So, you have that going for you." I told them.
I turned to Taima. "Would you go find Kangee and let her know I want to see her, please?" I asked Taima.
Taima smiled. "I'm on it." She said and walked away.
As we waited for Kangee, I took them back to the Cafe. "Have a seat." I motioned with my hand for them to sit down then I took a seat myself. "As I said before, this is 'the Cafe'. You can come here and eat and it doesn't cost you anything. The same goes for 'the Bakery'." I told them as Cammie came out to the table.
"May I take your order?" Cammie asked us.
"Hello Cammie, how are you doing today?" I greeted Cammie.
"I'm good. How are you, lord Eilwyn?" She replied.
"I'm doing better now seeing your pretty face." I told Cammie.
Cammie blushed and smiled. "Thank you." She said as she looked at the table.
"I'll take a sweet tea." I told Cammie then looked at Lloyd and Leena. "Do you want anything?" I asked them.
Lloyd and Leena told Cammie what they wanted, and Cammie left to fill our orders.
Kangee walked into the Cafe. "Taima said you wanted me." She said as she walked over to me and gave me a hug.
I returned the hug. "Have a seat." I offered.
Kangee sat down beside me, and I told her what was happening with Lloyd and Leena. "I would appreciate it if you would help them out. You know, guide them in what they need to know about thread, the dragons and dangers. They can take, say, five days to get used to being here. After that they can decide what they want to do." I told Kangee.
Cammie brought our drinks out and put them on the table. Cammie looked at Kangee. "Can I get you anything, Kangee?" Cammie asked.
"No think you. I'm good for now." Kangee replied.
Cammie walked back to the kitchen.
I turned to Leena and Lloyd. "Kangee is in charge of security at my Hold. But, for now there's not much need for security. So, I'm putting you in her capable hands." I told them and made introductions all around. "Get them each a set of shifting clothes if you would. I'll take them to Landing tomorrow so they can see the stores and what's going on there. They can take the rest of today to get settled in." I told Kangee.
I looked at Lloyd and Leena. "Kangee will be your guide. She will let you know just about anything you need to know about Pern. You might ask her about the beach. It's out the back door. I didn't show you that." I suggested.
I turned to Kangee before she could lead the two off. "They can use The Apartment for now. You might want to take them there first so they know where they can sleep." I suggested.
Kangee nodded her head in understanding. "I'll do that." She said then Kangee gave me a hug and a kiss.
I returned the hug and kiss, then I released Kangee so she could do what I had asked her to do.
==========
The Next morning, I showed Lloyd and Leena how to use the port points and took them to Landing.
I told them a little of the history of Landing and about Landing being found after a very long time.
We stopped by The Market and my stores. "They don't make magic swords here but most everyone carries a knife for protection and/or for eating with. Sucki is our Hold's local black smith. She makes knives and other items to sell in one of our stores. And Willow makes jewelry to sell as well." I told Lloyd and Leena as we walked though the store.
"Hello Eilwyn." Willow said.
"Hi Willow." I said and walked over and kissed Willow on the cheek.
"Where's mine?" Yuki asked giving me a fake pout.
I chuckled and walked over to Yuki. I gave her a hug and a kiss of the cheek. "That better?" I asked.
"Much." Yuki replied with a smile on her face.
"Who are your friends?" Willow Asked.
"I'm sure you've seen them around the Hold. This is Leena and he's Lloyd." I introduced them.
"What Hold did you move from? Yuki asked them.
"We're not from a Hold. We're from Orario." Leena replied.
I looked around to make sure no one was close other than one of my girls. No one was in the store other then us at the moment. "I should let you know. It's not really a good thing to talk about where you came from. The people here other than those in my Hold, don't know about Orario. So you shouldn't go around talking about Loki, the Dungeon, monsters and Orario when your out and about, unless you make sure no one is around. You can talk about any of that when your back at the Hold." I suggested.
"Ok." "Gotcha." They replied.
I'm going to show them the restaurant, next." I told Willow and Yuki.
"See you back home then." Willow said as she walked over to me and gave me a hug.
After leaving 'The Forge', what we named the store where we sell the knives and jewelry, I took them to our restaurant at The Market. We are still working on what to name it. But then, on Pern they don't really give names to any of the shops, so we are starting a new trend with giving our stores names.
"We sell what the locals consider new foods here. Crystal and Robbie are working here today." I told them, then introduced Lloyd and Leena to Crystal and Robbie.
"How is business" I asked Crystal.
Crystal came over and gave me a hug. "We're doing pretty good. It hasn't been too busy but we have been getting several customers." Yuki told me.
I returned Crystal's hug, and I gave her a kiss. "That's good. We haven't' been open for very long and we are competing against the food tent where the workers can get free food. Once most of Landing has been excavated and more people come to take classes, we should start getting more customers." I assured Crystal and Robbie.
"I hope so. I want this place to make good money." Robbie said as she walked over to us.
Again, I made introduction.
"Why is it everyone you know are women?" Leena asked.
I chuckled. "That is kind of a long and complicated story. It wasn't planned but all the people that live at my Hold, other than myself, are girls. That's not counting Lloyd, here. He's the second male living at my Hold now." I replied. "I do know several men. Masterharper Robinton, Lord Holder Jaxom, Masterharper Sebil, Harper Journeyman Piemur and a few others." I added.
"Masterharper? Harper journeyman? What are they?" Lloyd asked.
"Pern works on craft halls and apprenticeships. The Harper Hall is a group that teaches by using songs. They also entertain and spread news. There is also the Smith Craft Hall, they make tools and about anything else a black smith would make. And the Healer Hall which of course works on healing people the natural way. As I told you before they don't have potions or spells to heal anybody here. Sucki is a Journeyman or Journeywoman in the Smith Craft Hall. So technically she is Journeywoman Sucki, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you just call her Sucki." I explained.
"As I said Kangee will fill you in on all of that, or she can get you a book or two about the terms they use here and how the planet is run and organized." I offered.
"Do you have a Tital?" Leena asked me.
"Since I own a very large Hold. My Tital is lord Eilwyn or lord Holder Eilwyn. I'm not big on people calling me by my Tital but there are some lord Holders that insist you use their totals. I told Leena. "I'll leave you in Kangee's capable hands and I'll see you back at Tel Aviv Hold. Tel Aviv is the name of my Hold. The smaller Holds on my land also have names, but you'll learn them with time." I finished and sent them on their way with Kangee.
==========
I ported back to Tel Aviv Hold and went to the Lab.
Welf and Mercedes where there are usual. "Hi Mercedes." I said as I walked into the Lab.
"Hello Eilwyn." Mercedes replied without even looking up.
I chuckled to myself. 'That's Mercedes.' I thought to myself and walked over to Welf.
"Hello Welf." I said to let Welf know I was there.
Welf looked up from the sword he was working on. "Hello Eilwyn. You here to explain why those two are here?" He asked.
I chuckled at Welf's bluntness. "If you can take a break, yes." I told Welf.
"Ya, I guess I could take a break." Welf said and put the sword he was working on by the forge and laid his hammer down and looked at me. "How'd they get here?" Welf asked.
I leaned back against a table and crossed my arms over my chest. "Before the Loki Familia went into the man-made Dungeon Knossos. I had Dawn put several of their member's names on the tomb stones, just in case." I started.
"Just in case of what?"
"Just in case any of them were to be killed while in Knossos. I had helped them out some in an attempt to prevent any deaths, but there was no telling what would happen, so I had Dawn put the names on the tomb stones so if any of them were to die, they would show up here in front of the tomb stone with their name on it whole and healthy." I explained.
"Why would you allow members of the Loki Familia to come here?" Welf asked confused.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Why not? They're not bad people in general. They were killed by a member of Evilus as they tried to check out Knossos. And because they were killed, they showed up here. Besides, they are no longer members of the Loki Familia. Their falna vanished when they died. I explained that to them and that they can't go back to Orario." I told Welf. I cocked my head to the side. "Weeelll, technically I could take them back, but I don't think that would be such a good idea. If word got around that People didn't really have to die, they would be clamoring all over me trying to get me to have their names put on the tomb stones here. And I definitely don't want that." I added.
Welf nodded his head in understanding. "Oh, ya, I can see how that would be a big problem. So, they are here permanently, and they are free of Loki's blessing?" Welf stated more then asked.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, they have no falna and they are here for the rest of their lives." I admitted.
"If they're going to be living here, who are they? I might as well know who they are."
"The male cat person is Lloyd, and the human girl is Leena. I'm not sure if they're going to stay here yet. I told them, they could take a few days to get adjusted to being here. After that, they could work for me or go to Landing and work there. We'll just have to see if they stay or not. Although, since they know me some or at least they've seen me and my Team around Orario, they'll probably stay here for a while. I told them they could apprentice under Verdi and Heather and learn about raising cattle or they could apprentice under Snowdrop and Violet and learn how to work the orchards and gardens. I also suggested they could work in our stores at Landing." I informed Welf.
Welf shrugged his shoulders. "It's not my place to tell you what to do here and I don't really see anything wrong with your thinking. But what do I know is I'm just a smith." Welf said with a chuckle.
"I'm glad it meets your approval." I replied with a grin. "I'll let you get back to your work." I said and turned to leave the Lab.
"Ya, get out of here. I have several orders to work on. I don't need you slowing me down." Welf said with his usual cheeky grin on his face.
==========
I left Leena and Lloyd to settle in and I went about the usual business of running my hold.
This week we would be putting up the tower for the radio station. Most of the equipment for the station was already set up inside the building at Midway Hold. Now we have to put up the tower and connect everything together to see if we can send the radio signal.
It was named Midway Hold because it is midway between Billings Hold and Tel Aviv Hold as well as midway from the east border and west border of my Hold. So, Midway Hold. Yes, I know, not very creative, but it works.
Crystal, Gina and Robbie volunteered to help me put up the tower.
Mercedes constructed a three-sided tower in twenty-foot sections, with the base being ten feet from pole to pole. Each section has a flat plate on each pole, The plates line up with the bottom plates of the next section and the two sections are bolted together. Even though there are not planes on Pern there is still a flashing light on the top of the tower so dragons and their riders can see where the tower is at night.
Crystal, Gina and Robbie were equipped with pouches to hold the nuts and bolts and two wrenches to tighten the nuts and bolts with. As well and safety harnesses for safety. Although if they did happen to fall they could just shapeshift into their dragon or bird forms and fly back up to the top of the tower. And each girl took a different pole on the tower to work on. While I will use my telekinesis to lift each section of the tower up and set and hold it in place so the girls can bolt the two sections together. I can also fly up as I lift each tower section up, so it will be easier to set the upper section to the lower section.
Putting all the sections of the tower together took six hours. It probably would have gone faster, but the girls were having too much fun bossing me around in what direction the upper section of tower needed to go to match up with the lower section.
The next two days Mercedes and I connected all the wiring so we could broadcast up to the spaceship the Yokohama above Landing, using the Yokohama as a satellite, and to also broadcast horizontally for local receivers. Although most people will receive the radio signals from our radio station via the Yokohama.
We will probably have to make a few satellites to bounce the radio signal off of to reach all of the Holds in the north. But that can wait for now.
==========
I met up with Leena and Lloyd in the Cafe after they had been at the Hold for four days. I wanted to see how they were settling in.
I walked into the Cafe and upon seeing Leena and Lloyd siting at one of the tables I walked over to them. "May I sit with you?" I asked.
"Sure." Lloyd said and motioned to an empty seat.
I sat down and smiled. "What do you think of the place so far?" I asked looking at both of them.
"It is a lot to get used to. I've lived so long in Orario, I'm not used to not having so many people and shops around all the time." Leena answered.
Lloyd nodded his head in agreement. "Yes, it's so strange to go out and not see anyone. It's kind of spooky. But it's also kind of nice to go out and actually see trees, bushes and animals instead of roads and buildings everywhere." He replied.
"Although there isn't any place to buy anything." Leena added.
I chuckled. "Yes, it's a lot different here, but it's nice here as well. As for shopping. There is the shop in the hall. The sign is over the door. They have just about anything you would want and then some. But if you're looking for local merchandise. I'll have to take you to one of the next Gathers they have here." I told them.
"Gathers? What's that?" Leena asked.
"They don't really have regular stores here other than at 'The Market' at Landing, and I came up with that idea and set it in motion. But, normally at a Hold they don't really have normal stores so when there is a rest day that no Thread is going to fall, they have a Gather. The local craft halls, bakeries, brewers and such gather at the local Hold square and set up booths so they can sell their merchandise. It's usually an all-day thing because small holders come in and might sell or buy animals. They'll also can buy other things they need. The local Harpers will usually play and sing to entertain the people and if there are enough Harpers they'll set up a dance square for dancing." I informed Leena and Lloyd. "The Gathers are somewhat different in each Hold. At Ruatha Hold lord Jaxom will usually have horse races. Although here on Pern they call horses runner beasts and cows are called heard beasts. At Benden Hold there is always a lot of music, singing and dancing because the Harper Hall is at Bendon Hold. So, they always have more than enough Harpers to entertain the people during a Gather." I added.
"That sounds nice. When is the next Gather?" Leena asked.
I'm not sure. Right now, almost everyone lives on the northern continent. So, I'd have to check thread fall for each major Hold to see when and where the next Gather will be. I'm sure several of the girls here would like to go to a gather as well." I replied.
"Have either of you figured out what you want to do here?" I asked, changing the subject.
Lloyd shrugged his shoulders. "I'm so used to killing monsters in the Dungeon. I'm not sure what I want to do sense I can't do that, here." He admitted.
"That makes since. You might try doing different things for a couple weeks. That is, try working with the cattle for a couple weeks then working with the orchards for a couple weeks. Then work one of the stores for a couple weeks. That would give you an idea of what it would be like to do those jobs. If you still want to 'fight' I'm sure Kange and Kimmy would let you try out being a Hold guard. Although right now there's not much for them to do, since we don't have any real neighbors there's not really much of a need for protection right now, other than killing some of the big cats and wild wherries to keep them under control." I suggested.
Lloyd nodded his head. "That might work. What do those jobs pay?" He asked.
"Lloyd!" Leena exclaimed.
I chuckled. "That's all-right Leena. It's an honest question." I told Leena then I turned to answer Lloyd's question. "We're still working on what people earn here. But you're getting free room and board right now and I'll make sure you get a few marks for spending money. And for reference, an apprentice that has one or two marks is considered well off. Oh, and when you buy things here, be prepared to haggle over the price. The prices they put on products here are not firm, you have to haggle to try to get a better price. If you haven't haggled before, it can take a little time and practice to get good at haggling. Some of the girls here can teach you how to haggle if you want. They are quite good at it." I offered.
Lloyd frowned. "That doesn't sound like much money." He told me.
"I understand, but you're not in Orario so the money is different here. It's a rough conversion but add three zeros to the value on the mark and you have close to what the valis value is. So, one mark is worth little over 1,000 valis, probably closer to 1,500 valis, and a two-mark piece would be somewhere around 2,500 valis." I told them. "Plus, the value of things different between Pern and Orario. So, that makes a difference in the prices or value as well. For smaller denominations they have half marks, quarter marks and an eighth marks."
"It's going to be hard to figure all that out." Lloyd said.
I chuckled. "I'm still working on figuring it out, myself." I told Lloyd.
I turned to Leena. "Do you have any ideas of what you want to do here?" I asked her.
"I was a healer and mage. That's all I know what to do." Leena stated.
"As I told Lloyd, you could work at different jobs for a couple weeks each to see what you might like to do." I reiterated.
Leena looked thoughtful and brought her hand up and rubbed her chin for a few moments. "Could I see about working at one of the stores at The Market?" She asked.
I nodded my head in agreement. "That's not a problem. I'm sure Willow would love to show you how to make jewelry when there are no customers around." I replied. "How about starting tomorrow morning? That way Willow can take you with her to Landing and show you what to do." I offered.
Leena gave a quick nod of her head. "That sounds good. What time in the morning?" She replied.
"Be ready to leave here at eight in the morning. I'll let Willow know you'll be joining her." I told Leena.
Leena looked thoughtful for a moment. "I remember Willow. We met her at the store at Landing, right?" She asked.
"Yes, she was working at, The Forge. She has fairly long black hair. Can I tell her? Is she here at the, um, Hold?" Leena said.
I took a moment to do a mental search for Willow. I smiled when I found her. "I don't see why not. Willows in the Theater. It's the room with all the big conferrable chairs in it." I told her.
"I remember that room. I'll go talk to her now." Leena said and stood up to leave.
I turned to Lloyd. "If you haven't figured out what you want to do yet, I have an idea." I started.
Lloyd looked at me. "What would that be?" He asked.
"We just finished setting up the radio station. There are only a couple people that want to be DJ's so we could use more. You could try your hand at working at the radio station." I offered.
"Radio station? DJ's? what is all of that?" Lloyd asked.
"I was getting to that. DJ is short for Disc Jocky. Music and stories were recorded on special discs so they could be played any time you wanted to hear them. So, the people working the radio station were known as Dick Jocky's or DJs for short." I started to explain.
Lloyd had a slightly confused look on his face. "I think I understand that." He said.
"I can show you one of the discs later. The radio station is kind of like when Orario had the war game. If you remember the 'gods' put up magic mirrors so everyone could see what was happening during the war game." I said.
Lloyd nodded his head in understanding. "I remember that. I was rooting for your Familia." He put in.
"Thank you. We appreciate the support. But, the radio station is kind of like the magic mirrors, except it only sends out audio or sound no pictures. The DJ talks at the radio station into a microphone, the sound goes out to radios people can buy that pick up the sound and allows people to hear what the DJ says. And if the DJ plays a disc that does the same thing. That way people can hear the music, stories, news and weather wherever they are as long as they have a radio to listen to." I told Lloyd.
The confused look disappeared from Lloyd's face. "I think I understand. So, when do you use the radio station?"
"Since we just set it up, we haven't used it yet. I need to give it a trial run. But as for when we use the station. We are hoping to get enough DJ's to be able to run the radio station twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. Although right now we only have Gina and Amber that want to be Dj's. So, we'll only broadcast. That is what it is called when you are sending out the audio from the station to the individual radios, broadcast. We will only be able to broadcast the radio shows for eight to ten hours each day. That means Amber and Gina will work four to five hours on Air every day they work. So, the more Dj's we can get the longer we can broadcast each day. That means if you wanted to be a DJ, we could broadcast for twelve to fifteen hours per day." I explained.
Lloyd looked thoughtful but didn't say anything.
"How about we go to the radio station. That way you can have a look around and I can give the station a trial run." I suggested.
Lloyd shrugged his shoulders. "I guess I could take a look. I'm not doing anything else right now." He replied with a light chuckle.
"Taima, would you go tell Mercedes we need her at Midway Hold to give the radio station a test run." I asked.
"I'll let her know." Taima replied and headed off to do as I had asked.
As I stood up. "Let's go. We can have a look around before Mercedes shows up." I suggested.
"Ok." Lloyd replied and stood up as well.
I led the way to the port point to Midway Hold. Once at Midway Hold, I gave Lloyd a tour of the radio station. Mercedes walked into the control room as I was showing Lloyd around.
"I was in the middle of a project when Taima interrupted me about testing the radio station." Mercedes said in a huff.
"You're always in the middle of a project, Dear heart." I told Mercedes as I put my arms around her and gave her a hug and a kiss.
Mercedes put her arms around me and returned the hug. "I'll let it go this time." She teased.
I released Mercedes and took a step back. "Well, we need to see if everything is in working order." I stated.
Mercedes looked over at Lloyd. "Who's he?" She asked me.
"Mercedes, this is Lloyd. He is from Orario. Lloyd, this is Mercedes. She's our local tinkerer. She can build or repair almost anything she can think of." I made introductions.
"Nice to meet you." Lloyd said and gave Mercedes a bow.
"Yes, nice to meet you." Mercedes replied. "Shall we get to work." She continued as she headed towards the control room.
I looked at Lloyd with a grin. "That's just how Mercedes is. She prefers tinkering or building things than talking to people." I told Lloyd.
Lloyd nodded his head in understanding. "I see."
Mercedes took a seat at the radio station's control panel. She flipped a couple switches and moved some of the sliders. Then she put a disc into the player. Once everything was to her satisfaction, she turned in the chair.
"Get one of the radios and set it to our frequency, 100 on the dial. Take it to Tel Aviv Hold and see if you can hear anything." Mercedes told me.
I gave Mercedes a salute. "Yes, ma'am!" I replied somewhat formally.
Mercedes blushed and looked at the floor. "I'm sorry." She said just above a whisper.
"I'm teasing you, Mercedes. You're the boss over setting up the radio station and getting it running, so you should be giving orders and telling others what to do." I told Mercedes and put an arm around her shoulder and hugged her to me, and I kissed her on the top of her head.
"Then get busy then." Mercedes told me with a smile on her face.
"Yes, Ma'am!" I said again with another salute. But this time Mercedes grinned and turned back to the control panel.
I turned to Lloyd. "Let's go. I'll get a radio from storage, and we can go back to Tel Aviv Hold and see if we can get a signal." I told him.
Lloyd looked around for a moment, then he looked at me. "Ya, sure." He replied.
I lead Lloyd out of the room and down the hall to a storage room. There were many radios the girls had built lining shelves along the wall. I walked over and picked one up then I turned to Lloyd.
"Back to Tel Aviv Hold." I said and headed out to the port point that would take us back home.
"It's a lot of walking back and forth." Lloyd stated.
I chuckled. "It can be, but at least we have the port points to make it easier. At least it's not Daedalus Street. And I'll tell you that only my Hold has port points. The rest of Pern doesn't know about port points, yet." I explained.
"Oh, ya, Daedalus Street. Don't bring that place up. It gives me nightmares just thinking of having to go there." Lloyd told me and shivered.
Once we were back at Tel Aviv Hold. I lead Lloyd through the house and to the gazebo out by the beach. I sat down and offered Lloyd a seat as well. Lloyd sat down across from me at one of the tables. I set the radio on the table between us and turned the dial to channel or frequency 100 and waited to see what would happen.
If this works, Mercedes will have to set up a relay on the Yokohama so we can broadcast up to the Yokohama and it can relay the signal back to the planet.
[We are ready, when you are.] I sent to Mercedes.
[What do you want to hear?] Mercedes asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders. Ya, I know she can't see me. [The Sound of Silence, Believe it or Not, some American Indian flute music or some Celtic hammered dulcimer music. Which every you have handy.] I replied.
[Let me see what I can find.] Mercedes told me.
After a minute or so. [Okay, I've got it. You should be hearing it any time now.] Mercedes announced.
As soon as Mercedes told me, I could hear it. The song "Sound of Silence" started playing.
Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams, I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a streetlamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light, I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never shared No one dared Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools", said I, "You do not know Silence like a cancer grows Hear my words that I might teach you Take my arms that I might reach you" But my words like silent raindrops fell And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls In tenement halls" And whispered in the sounds of silence
[We can hear it. It's coming in loud and clear. Good work Mercedes.] I sent to Mercedes congratulating her on a job well done.
Lloyd sat listening to the song with wide eye and an open mouth. "Th-that's coming from where Mercedes is?" He asked shocked and surprised.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Ya, that's coming from the radio station where Mercedes is. Now that it is up and running, we can start broadcasting songs, weather, news and whatever else we want to broadcast. Let's go back to Midway Hold and let Mercedes know it's working and the signal is loud and clear." I told Lloyd.
I left the radio on the table while Lloyd and I took the port point back to Midway Hold.
We walked into the control room of the Radio station. Or is that, the broadcast booth? I guess it really doesn't matter what we call it.
"It was loud and clear." I told Mercedes as we walked into the room.
"Ya, you told me. Now all we have to do is see if we can relay the signal off of the Yokohama and back to the planet. But until then we can broadcast to the Hold." Mercedes told me.

Sword Oritoria Chapter 7
Going to Meren
I gathered my Team on the patio in our PD.
"How would y'all like to go to the coast?" I asked Rosni, Iris, Kimmy and Cindy.
"I thought the Guild wouldn't let us out of the city?" Kimmy said.
"Well, no they won't. But as you I know I can get around that rule." I replied with a chuckled.
"Why do you want to take us to the coast?" Cindy asked with a suspicious expression on her face.
I chuckled. "You know me to well, Little Dragon. Loki is taking most of the girls in her Familia to Meren on the coast. They are checking to see if the seal Poseidon put in years ago to prevent monsters from escaping the Dungeon from the Water City is still in place and working. They are also doing some investigating about the violas as well. And while they are there, Tiona and Tione's old Familia will show up including their leader, Kali." I informed Cindy and the others.
"What is your plan, then?" Rosni asked.
"I thought we could help with checking out the seal. Then we could put a stop to Kali." I replied.
"What is the problem with this Kali?" Kimmy asked.
"She is some sort of 'god' of war or battle. She loves seeing her followers fight to the death. She even makes them fight to the death in an arena every day. As soon as they can walk, they are taught to fight small monsters. Then after a few years they fight other members of their own Familia to the death. That is how Tiona and Tione lived their lives for several years. They were able to get out, but now Kali is going to put them through another fight. They call the fights rites. I'm guessing as in a rite of passage." I explained. "And all of Kali's followers are Amazons. She doesn't seem to like men."
"That's crazy. Why would they have to kill other people in their own Familia?" Rosni asked shocked at what she had heard.
"Because Kali enjoys it." I replied. "So, I thought we could see the coast, help the Loki Familia some and put an end to Kali or at least stunt what she can do."
"Some fun in the sun and some fighting? Sounds good to me." Cindy put in.
"It's going to be fun!" Iris exclaimed.
"She's going to get us killed one of these days." Rosni said with a grin on her face. "I'm in. I am your supporter after all."
I looked over at Kimmy.
"I have sworn to guard and to protect you with me life. I will follow you where ever you go." Kimmy told me.
I raised one eyebrow and half closed one eye as I looked at Kimmy. "Really? You haven't said anything like that for quite a while. What brought that on?" I asked Kimmy.
Kimmy looked at the ground as she started to blush. "S-sorry. I got carried away for a moment." Kimmy answered.
I smiled at Kimmy. "It's okay. It just surprised me." I told her. "Okay, that means everyone wants to go to Meren. Just remember to bring your bathing suits."
The next morning I ported my Team and our Companions to just outside Meren. We walked through the town towards the docks. I knew Loki and the girls of her Familia wouldn't be in town for a few hours yet, so we took our time taking in the sights.
The plan was to wait until the Loki Familia showed up and follow them from a distance. Then we will stay in a cove close to the cove Loki chooses.
Rosni, Cindy, Iris, Kimmy and I along with our Companions in their small cat forms, walked around town waiting for Loki and her group to show up. We had a pretty good time sightseeing. We bought some paintings from a street artist to hang in the house in the PD. Of course the paintings were of the 'lake', the docks and a couple other seaside paintings.
I felt Ais and Tiona's minds. I could since they were in Meren.
"They're here. Loki and the girls she brought with her are here in town. It shouldn't be too much longer before Loki gets the info she needs, and they all head out of town along the shore." I informed my Team.
"We don't have to bring bathing suits because you gave us all shifting clothes. Will we have time to go swimming?" Iris asked.
I chuckled. "We should have plenty of time to go swimming. Loki bought all the girls new bathing suits so they all can go swimming. Loki wants to spend some time swimming with her female followers so they will take, I would say, at least an hour to swim before she sends Tiona and Tione to check on the seal." I told Iris and the others.
"That's good. I'd hate to come all this way and not be able to do any swimming." Iris replied.
"Besides even when the twins go to check on the seal, it will take over forty-five minutes. So, while Kimmy and I are following the twins, the rest of you can keep swimming for a while." I told them. "And I'll let y'all know when we're heading back to the surface."
"Why are only you two going? Why can't the rest of us go as well?" Rosni asked.
"We're the only two that can take dolphin form. You, Rosni, don't have a water animal form and Cindy and Iris only have otter forms. Otters can swim really good, but they're not the fastest swimmers. And we're going for speed because the twins will only have about an hour's worth of air before they have to resurface." I informed them.
"Oh, okay. That makes since." Rosni replied.
I sent Taima in her bird form to keep an eye on the Loki Familia's girls as they made their way along the coast.
The rest of my Team sent their Companions out in bird forms to watch over the Loki Familia as well. With all of our Companions keeping an eye on the Loki Familia, my Team could hang back so we wouldn't be seen. It also allowed us to find a good cove close to where Loki would finally stop.
We walked for a while enjoying the scenery when Taima sent me a message. [They stopped two coves ahead of where you are now.]
[Thank you.] I replied. I turned to let everyone else know but…
"Waiola, said…" Iris started. "Rosey just told…" Kimmy began. "I just heard from Zala." Cindy said. "Ushi contacted…" Rosni started.
Everyone started laughing.
"I'm guessing everyone received the same message." Cindy was finally able to get out.
Looking around at everyone Cindy received head nods and 'yes's' from everyone.
"The Loki girls are two coves up." Kimmy put in.
"That's what Taima told me." I offered.
"I got the same from Waiola." Iris added.
"Same here." I told them.
"Ya, that's what I heard too." Rosni said.
I looked at the cove we were all standing close to. "It's not the best. I'm sure Loki picked the best cove around. But this one's not that bad either." I suggested and looked around at my Team.
"It will work." "Works for me." "Why not." The girls replied.
"Then let's set up and go swimming." I told my Team.
We laid out a couple blankets and beach towels. I pulled out a cooler from my closet PD that had ice and bottles of drinks in it. Then I shifted my clothes to my bathing suit along with the girls.
I ran into the water and started swimming. Within seconds four girls and five Companions were in the water and swimming with me. The Companions were all in animal forms.
After about an hour of swimming, playing in the water, making sandcastles and laying on the beach. I heard Tiona, Tiona and Loki talking about finding the seal.
"It's time Kimmy. The twins are getting ready to find the seal." I called to Kimmy. "Taima, Rosey, let's go."
"I'm on it." Kimmy replied and dove into the water. When she surfaced she was in her dolphin form headed out of the cove.
Taima and Rosey had changed to their dolphin forms as well and were following Kimmy.
I watched Kimmy and the Companions for a moment before I dove under the water and changed into my dolphin form as well and headed after the others.
Using my echolocation, it didn't take long to find the twins. We swam up close to the twins so we wouldn't scare them. For several minutes we swam around Tiona and Tione, swimming out in front of them then coming back behind them. Once they knew we weren't going to attack them I swam up to Tiona and swam beside her.
It took a little time before Kimmy, and I were able to get Tiona and Tione to take ahold of our dorsal fins so we could pull them down to the seal.
The twins checked around the seal and found no openings that would allow monsters to leave the Dungeon. They swam farther out to see if there were any openings away from the seal. They did not find any openings.
Once Tiona and Tione were finished checking the seal and the sea floor around the seal they headed back up to the surface. Kimmy, Taima, Roney and I swam along with the twins. On the way to the surface the twins took ahold the Kimmy and Taima's dorsal fins for a free ride.
In a short time, we reached the surface of the lake. In the distance was a ship with a viola attacking it. Tione and Tiona started swimming towards the ship, but the crew was able to fight and kill the plant monster. So, we all swam to the docks.
[We're headed to the docks.] I informed my Team.
[Do you want us to meet you there?] Rosni asked.
[Yes, please. See you shortly.] I replied.
[We'll meet you at the docks.] Cindy sent.
Then I heard singing in my head. [Sitting on the dock of the bay, Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay, Wastin' time…] Iris sang.
I just shook my head at Iris's silliness.
Once we were close to shore. Kimmy, Taima, Rosey and I swam off away from the twins. When we were close enough to shore, Kimmy and I shifted back to our human forms while Tiama and Rosey shifted to their small cat forms, then we walked to the docks.
I saw some of the Loki Familia girls walking around the docks. There were also a lot more Amazons than there should be, because of the Kali Familia having arrived.
The Kali Familia consists of nothing but Amazons.
"Let's go. Argana will be causing trouble shortly and I want to put a stop to it." I told Kimmy.
"Right behind you." Kimmy replied.
My Team caught up with Kimmy and I as we were heading to stop Tione from fighting Argana in the street.
As I walked up to the Amazon named Argana and the sailor/fisherman she had in her clutches, I searched the minds of the Telskyura Amazon's along with Tiona's and Tione's minds, so I could learn their language.
Speaking in the Telskyura language. "Well, well, well, Argana you are such a coward. Picking a fight with someone you 'know' is much weaker than you are." I said insulting Argana.
Argana dropped the man and turned to me with anger in her eyes. "How dare you call me a coward! I will kill you!" She declared, releasing the fisherman as she turned to me.
I laughed at Argana. Making her even angrier.
By that time Loki had walked up with Tiona, Ais and the other girls from the Loki Familia. Kali the 'goddess' of these Amazons walked up a few moments later.
Kali is a small 'god', she is small enough she looks like a child if she takes off her demon mask.
I grinned at Kali. "Kali, I challenge Argana and her sister to a fight." I told Kali.
"Ga heeh heeh heeh!" Kali laughed. "Do you think you can fight one of my children?" She asked with mirth.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Anyone can fight another person. It is winning the fight that matters. Or is Argana and her sister afraid of fighting a man?" I turned the question back on Kali.
Kali looked up at me. "My children are not afraid of men! No man can defeat Argana or Bache. You will fight them one after the other?" Kali asked.
I shook my head from side to side. "No, I'll fight both of them at the same time. And outside the town so nothing gets ruined or damaged." I told Kali.
"Hehehehehehehe!" Kali laughed. "You have a death wish, but this will be fun to watch. As short as it will be."
I turned to Loki. "Y'all walked here from Orario. Did you happen to see a place that would work for a fight?" I asked Loki.
"You're really going to fight this twirps brats, yeah?" Loki asked me.
I nodded my head. "Yes, I am."
"There were a couple places not far from Meren that should work." Loki told me. "But we have other things to do here."
I chuckled. "I believe you'll find it entertaining." I told Loki. "Besides I have some information you'll probably want to hear about." I added.
"Whatever." Loki replied but she started walking down the street to the city gate.
Once we passed through the gates of the town, I put an arm around Loki's shoulder and leaned in close.
Loki looked at my hand on her shoulder, then she turned and looked at me.
"One of the reasons Kali is here is so she can force Tiona and Tione to fight Argana and Bache in one of their rites." I started in a low voice so no one else would hear.
"That little pain in the ass. That's why she came here?" Loki responded.
"That's not the only reason. Ishtar invited her here so Kali's Familia can help her fight against Freya." I continued.
"Istar plans on attacking the Freya Familia?" Loki asked.
"That's her plans. Although I don't think they will work." I told Loki with a chuckle.
I raised my voice a little, so it wasn't a whisper anymore. "As for the plant monsters you're looking for. Njord, Rubart and Murdock are all involved in that. But it is not how you would think. Njord was able to buy the plant monsters so he can release them into Lolog Lake. Every boat and ship are given some powdered smelly stuff to cover up that the powder has ground up magic stones in it. Since the plant monsters go after magic stones first, a ship can drop some of the powder over the side of the ship or boat and the plant monsters will go after the ground up magic stones instead of the boat." I explained.
"But why would Njord release the plants in the first place, yeah?" Loki asked.
"That's easy. Monsters were getting so bad it was getting to the point they couldn't fish any more. And since the plant monsters or violas go after monsters because of their magic stones. By releasing the violas into the lake, they would kill the monsters and allow them to go about their business of fishing." I told Loki.
"And because they use that magic stone powder the fishing boats don't have to worry about the violas." Loki put two and two together.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Although Rubart is embezzling and doing a few other illegal things. But that is his own personal doing, Njord and Murdock aren't involved in any of that. Your girls will have to find all of that evidence out for themselves so you can go to the authorities." I finished.
"Everyone expects my children to do all the work." Loki grumbled.
I chuckled. "You were already here to look into the violas, so finding out about Njord, Murdock and Rubart's dealings would have been found out anyway. I've just made it a little easier for you, as well as stopping Kali from forcing the twins to fight their old teachers. It's a win-win for you. And one last thing… for now. The Barbare are either already here or they'll show up shortly to try to prevent Ais and your girls from stopping the rites. But that is neither here nor there after I've finished with Argana and Bache."
Loki looked at me with her usual squinted eyes. "Do you really think you can beat those two at the same time?" She asked me.
I shook my head from side to side. "No, I don't think I can beat them. I KNOW I can beat them." I replied with a big grin on my face.
I dropped my arm from around Loki's shoulders as she pointed to a large field. "Is that what ya's looking for?" She asked.
I nodded my head in agreement. "It should work." I replied.
The whole area was about the size of two football fields placed side by side. There were a few trees around the perimeter of the area with some grasses and weeds covering the field.
I turned to Kali. "I'm ready any time you are." I told her.
"Are you sure or are you going to keep going on this nature walk of yours." Kali stated sarcastically.
"Unlike you and your goons I have respect for other people's property so I didn't want any buildings, belongings or people hurt. That's why we came out here." I replied.
"Ya, ya, I'm getting board. Argana and Bache, make this good." Kali said.
I skipped out to the middle of the field and turned to watch my opponents walk out onto the field.
I put my arms out in front of my body like the old-time boxers used to do. Then I started doing my fancy foot work which consists of kicking my feet around, jumping up while bringing my feet together under me with my knees sticking out to the side. In other words, I was being silly.
"Aren't you going to take this seriously!?" Kimmy yelled to me, while Iris was laughing at my antics.
I grinned at Kimmy. "I thought I was being serious!" I yelled back with a straight face.
As Kimmy and I were talking or rather yelling because of how far apart we were. Argana and Bache walked out onto the field putting me between the two of them. Each was about twenty feet from me.
I pointed to Bache then to Argana, I made motions of them coming at me from two sides then I acted like I was shaking as if I was scared, then I started laughing.
"Let's do this!" Kali called out.
I heard Bachi talking. "Die Asura. Velgas. " She said activation her magic.
I chuckled. "That's how you do it." I stated to no one in particular.
Both Argana and Bache came at me almost to fast to see. Although I had already activated my Warp Perception ability so even their extremely high speed seems slow to me.
Bache aimed a punch to my face, making contact with no affect. Her Velgas didn't even affect me because of my magic immunity. Even without the magic immunity I have poison proof which would counter any of her poison plus I have such a high durability there is nothing either one are able to do that could hurt me.
At almost the exact same time Argana jumped and kicked me in the side also to no effect. I just stood in the middle of the field with my arms crossed in front of my chest.
Seeing that their attacks had done nothing, Argana leaned in to bite me so she could use her curse to gain more strength.
As Argana's mouth make contact with my shoulder. "It's, 'Die Asura. Velgas,' isn't it. I said using Bache's magic against Argana. Although instead of a blackish purple color, for me a blue light formed around my whole body. So, with Argana trying to bite me, instead of getting blood, she received a mouthful of very toxic poison. But not just in her mouth but also down her throat and Stomach as well because she was trying to bite and swallow my blood.
"EEEEEEEEHHHHHH!" Argana screamed at the pain searing her mouth, throat and Stomach. As smoke rose up from her mouth.
I turned to Bache and grinned. "I like how that works." I told her.
Bache's eye grew big and round at seeing me use her own poison on her sister. At the same time, I swung my arm back striking Argana across the chest sending her thirty feet into the air. And with my body covered in the poison from the Vargas spell, Argana's chest was smoking as well from the poison.
"It's a 'Blue Light Special'." Iris yelled out at seeing the blue light from the Vargas spell around my body and started giggling.
I took Bache's moment laps in concentration to turn towards her and start a fast punching at her Stomach, chest and face. I wasn't going for hard hits although I used quite a bit of force. I was going to a large number of strikes with my poison covered fists. Giving her a taste of what she had given may other people.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHGGGGGG!" Bache yelled from the pain of the poison along with the poison burning her. Smoke rising up from her front and face.
"Ugh!" I grunted as I was hit from behind. Argana had come up behind me while I was dealing with Bache. The impact from her punch had jarred me but it wasn't even close enough to hurt me.
I punched Bache hard enough to send her flying towards the edge of the field we were in. I turned to Argana. "Is that all you have?" I asked rhetorically.
Anger spread across Argana's face at my question. She obviously thought she had put a lot of power behind her strike. "You haven't seen what I can do yet!" She yelled at me.
I chuckled as Argana started swinging her fists at me. I just blocked every attack while using the Vargas spell to cover my arms. All Argana was doing was hurting herself with each attack.
I was keeping an eye out for Bache; I didn't want her sneaking up on me like I had let Argana do. Not that she could hurt me, I just didn't want to be blindsided again.
It was a good thing I was watching Bache because she came running back towards me covered in her blackish purple Vargas poison.
Bache started pummeling me with her fists. I guess she thought her Vargas poison would stop me or at least slow me down. But she would be wrong.
I pulled a "Matrix" and turned sideways so Argana was on one side of me, and Bache was on the other side and I was blocking each of their attacks with one arm each. I looked into their surface thoughts so I would know what they're next moves would be. While I was doing that I turned and looked at Kali.
"[Is this entertaining enough for you?]" I asked sarcastically. I also sent it to everyone's minds, so they all could 'hear' what I was saying.
Kali looked like she was caught between hysterical joy at seeing the fight and fear that her followers were being beaten by a male.
Ais, Tiona, Tiona, Lefiya, Loki and the other Loki girls were watching the 'fight' in awe. They were surprised at the fact I hadn't already been beaten buy two level six fighters and they were surprised that I was able to fight both of them off at the same time with no trouble what-so-ever.
Iris was making motions like she was fighting alongside me or like she wanted to be fighting as well. Kimmy looked like she wanted to step in and help me, but then she does believe she was supposed to guard and protect me. And Rosni was watching the fight with fascination.
Cindy on the other hand was starting to look board. "[Is that all you're going to do?]" She called out to me and sent as well.
I grinned at Cindy. Then to Argana and Bache. "[It is time to end this.]" I told them and sent to the spectators.
With that I dropped and swung my leg out breaking Argana's legs and continued the swing and caught Bache's legs and broke both of her legs all in one motion.
"AAAAAHHHHH!" Argana screamed as her legs broke and she fell to the ground.
"EEEEEEEGGGGGG! Bache's scream followed Argana's as she too dropped to the ground with two broken legs.
I stood back up and started walking towards my Team and the Loki Familia girls. I also canceled the Velgas magic.
Even though they had seen me fight monsters, Ais looked at me with her mouth in a small 'o'. Tiona was clapping and cheering me while Tione looked on with surprise. And Loki had a big grin on her face. While Kali's Familia members looked at me with shock, surprise and some anger on their faces.
I walked over and stood in front of Kali. "I thought your girls were supposed to be strong fighters. I'm only a level two adventurer." I told her with a big grin on my face. "Now you are going to tell Loki the whole reason you are here with 'no' holding anything back. When you're finished with that. You will release any and all of your followers that want to leave your Familia. You will also stop your 'rites'. If you don't, I will drop by and conquer you and your kingdom. If your Familia really wants to do some fighting, I believe Finn will have some plans where your Familia can help out, and there will be loads of fighting." I told Kali.
"You can't talk to a god like that." Kali demanded.
I chuckled. "I can and I will." I told Kali, and with an evil grin I leaned in close to Kali. "And this is why… 'Isolation'." I said in a whisper and all of Kali's followers fell to the ground.
I could hear the calls of concern and sounds of shock and surprise coming from the Loki Familia behind me, every member of the Kali Familia collapsing to the ground all at the same time.
I looked Kali in the eyes. "You were saying?" I asked.
Kali's eyes widened in surprise and fear.
"When you get back home, you'll probably hear about many stories of your followers collapsing. Not just the ones you have with you here." I added.
I turned around and looked at Loki. "And that is why no one should mess with the Hestia Familia, or any of my friends." I warned and I canceled the Isolation.
"Are you done showing off?" Cindy asked as she walked up to me.
The members of the Kali Familia twitched or jerked then they started sitting and standing up.
"What happened?" "Why'm I on the ground?" The Amazons of the Kali Familia asked as they were trying to figure out what had happened to them.
"Kali, you only have around sixty years left. You are no longer immortal so from now on you will age, grow old and… die..." I informed Kali. I turned away from Kali before she could say anything.
I walked over to Loki. "Thanatos is in Knossos. He is getting followers by allowing them to believe he will reconnect them with dead loved ones, once his followers die. That is why they are willing to blow themselves up in suicide attacks. Dix Perdix is capturing intelligent monsters, and yes, I'm sure you don't believe they exist, but he does, and he uses Knossos to hold the intelligent monsters at so he can move them out of the city and sell them. Dix has a half-brother, Berca Perdix. They both are cursed to dig Knossos and make it as big as the real Dungeon. Berca is able to craft cursed weapons, so they have a large amount of cursed weapons to use. Dix and Berca are dependents of Daedalus. I'll tell you about Daedalus later." I told Loki.
I stepped back and pointed at Tiona. "And you, Tiona. Stay away from Iris. I believe if the two of you get together. You two would create so much energy it would destroy Orario." I told Tiona with a grin on my face.
"Hey! I resemble that remark." Iris replied, then she looked at Tiona. "Let's try it." Iris said and started giggling.
Tiona gave Iris a thumbs up with a big grin on her face.
I chuckled at the two. "Okay, we need to get back home." I told my Team. I turned and started walking away from the Loki Familia girls and the Kali Familia.

Sword Oritoria Chapter 6
The 59th Floor
This is yet another situation where my timing will have to be spot on. Bell will fight the Minotaur on the ninth floor and rank up to level two. My Team and I will have to wait until the Loki expedition gets to the 50th floor. I would have liked for my Team to be 2nd level before we go down to the 58th floor but the timing for that is way off.
I did nullify or block the high-rank excelia we all will get from fighting the Valgang Dragons and other monsters on the 58th and 59th floors. I Don't want us to have to fight even bigger monsters to rank up to Level three. Although I am allowing the normal excelia to get to us so our status will go up.
With that being said. I was able to keep track of everything that was going to happen and port my Team, Iris, Cindy, Kimmy and myself, to the 58th floor shortly before Finn and his group are to leave the 50th floor and head down to the 59th floor. I left Rosni back home because she isn't strong enough or durable enough. Plus, Rosni didn't want to come down this far.
My plan was to kill all of the Valgang Dragons on the 58th floor so Finn's party won't have to deal with the Valgang Dragons breathing fire up through the floors at them. Plus, my Team will get some really good excelia so we can increase our status which will allow us to rank up to level three in a week or two. Along with us being able to collect some valuable drop items from the Valgang Dragons. Valgang Dragon Fangs and Valgang Dragon Scales.
We totally confused the Valgang Dragons in the beginning of our attack. Cindy, Iris, Kimmy and I all changed to our dragon forms which caused the Valgang Dragons to not know what to fight. Although after our initial attack the Valgang Dragons learned that we are their enemy and started to attack us.
When there was a lull in the fighting, we would spend some time collecting Magic Stones and as many of the drop items that we could collect.
It took over six hours for the Loki Familia to make it to the 58th floor. Team STRNG (Starling) spent that time killing the Valgang Dragons and the huge brightly colored caterpillars. So, when Finn, Riveria, Tiona, Tione, and the others arrived they didn't have to fight any monsters.
When Finn saw my Team, I called out to him and his party. "Took you guys long enough. We've been down here for over six hours killing all these monsters so you wouldn't have to worry about them firing at you." I told Finn.
Finn, Riveria, Tiona, Tione, Gareth, Ais, Raul, Bete and a few others, all looked at me with stunned and shocked expressions on their faces. Tsubaki didn't know anything about my Team and I, so she just looked at me and my Team a little confused.
"How did you get down here?" Finn asked me.
I chuckled. "We took a short cut." I replied.
"There's no short cut to get down here, idiot." Bete told me.
I grinned at Bete. "If you say so." I replied. Then I turned to Ais and Riveria. "Isn't it time for his flea dip? He seems a bit irritable today." I said with a straight face.
The corners of Ais's mouth twitched up into a little smile. Riveria covered her face with her hand and shook her head from side to side. Then she looked up and looked at each of my Team in turn. "If you are not going to tell us how you got down here. Then tell us, why you are here?" Riveria asked.
I furrowed my brows and shook my head from side to side in disappointment. "I thought you were smarter than that, Riveria my dear. I have shown up several time when Loki Familia needed help. So why else would I be here than to help y'all out… again." I informed Riveria and the others.
Finn walked over to me and looked up at me. "If that is true. What is ahead of us on the 59th floor?" He asked seriously.
"The 59th floor is nice and warm right now. So salamander wool will not be needed." I told Finn then I looked over at Raul. "Sorry for your trouble getting all the Salamander wool, Raul." I offered my apologies to Raul.
Raul scratched the back of his neck with his hand and looked down at the floor. "Th-that's alright." He replied unsure of himself.
I turned back to Finn. "Plus, there is a corrupted spirit or demi-spirit, down there. It is what has been creating all those giant caterpillar monsters so it can eat their magic stones." I informed Finn and the others. "The upper half looks human while the bottom half is a titan alm. It is one of the crystal orb creatures. A crystal orb was attached to a titan alm and the corrupted spirit was created.
"One of the crystal orb creatures? You mean there are more of them?" Finn asked.
"There are several more crystal orb corrupted spirits. Most of them are in Knossos, the dungeon Daedalus built beside the real dungeon." I informed Funn and the others.
"A second dungeon?" Finn asked then continued. "That is not important right now. We need to concentrate on the 59th floor and what is down there. We leave in three minutes." Finn announced.
Everyone from the Loki Familia and Tsubaki prepared to go on down to the 59th floor.
"Let's go." Finn said when the three minutes were up. Then he took a quick glance at my Team before turning to the tunnel leading to the 59th floor.
Finn had my Team take vanguard along with Ais. I'm sure he put us in front so he could keep an eye on us. while Bete and Tsubaki took rear guard, and the rest stayed in the middle of the group.
My Team led the group through the tunnel to the 59th floor. Iris was skipping along beside us.
Ais was watching Iris skip around for a minute or two. "Is she… alright?" Ais asked.
"Iris? Oh, ya. She's fine. Iris is always full of energy and I believe she's excited. I would say she is kind of like Tiona. In fact I would hate to see the two of them together. With the amount of energy and enthusiasm between the two of them, it could cause a natural disaster." I replied with a chuckle.
Ais looked at Iris then she looked back at Tiona. "I see." She said as she turned back to look in front of us again.
"It's humid." Someone behind me said.
when we exited the tunnel and saw all the plants. "These look like the plants from the twenty-fourth floor." Bete stated.
After a short walk we finally found the corrupted spirit. It was still only had a vague humanoid upper half. The corrupted spirit was eating the giant caterpillar's magic stones. It would either take a bite from the front half of the giant bugs or pull the magic stones out of the bugs before eating them. There was no order to how it was eating the magic stones.
"Uh!" Ais sucked in air. "It is… a spirit." She proclaimed.
Several minutes after we arrived, the upper half of the corrupted spirit started to ungulate. It looked like there were many muscle spasms racking its whole upper body. Moments later it changed into a true humanoid form. If it was a true human, it's looks would have been on par with Riveria or Ais in beauty.
It looked down at our group. "Aria, Aria!" It started calling looking directly at Ais.
Hundreds of the giant caterpillar monsters were coming from the 58th floor and up from the 60th floor, surrounding us.
"Tsubaki, Raul stay back. Gareth, Ais, Riveria, Tiona, Tiona, Bete, get ready to face that thing." Jinn started giving orders. Then he turned to me and my Team. "You stay out of the way." He told us.
I chuckled. "It is more of the other way around. Don't let any of your party get in our way." I replied, although I kept my Team back for the moment. "Iris, Kimmy help protect the supporters. Cindy stick with me." I told my Team.
The Loki Familia members started attacking the demi-spirit. But almost as soon at they started their attack the demi-spirit started concurrent casting.
"Riveria!" Finn called.
Riveria already knew what Finn wanted and started casting a shield spell while the rest of the vanguard kept fighting.
A few seconds later. "Fall back!" Finn called, so everyone would gather around Riveria so they would be under the shield.
"Leave us out of the spell!" I called over my shoulder to Riveria and Finn.
"But you'll be killed!" Tiona yelled worry and fear on her face.
"Not even close." I told Tiona and the others.
"Showoffs!" Iris called out to Cindy and me.
I turned my head looking over my shoulder and stuck my tongue out at Iris.
"Ge he he he." Iris giggled.
"You two can join us if you want, before Riveria finishes her spell." I told Iris and Kimmy.
"Goody!" Iris yelled as she ran up beside me flinging her arms around my neck. I put an arm around Iris's waist holding her close to me. Kimmy followed, although she walked up to us more regally and with purpose.
"Idiots!" Bete told us with scorn. "At least we won't have to put up with them anymore." He added.
The girls don't have to worry about any magic aimed at them. They all have magic immunity, so no magic will affect them unless they want it to affect them for some reason. In other words, none of the magic the demi-spirit throws at us will affect us.
I called over my shoulder. "Riveria, leave us out of your shield!"
"Can't leave 'em out there to die." Gareth exclaimed.
"If they want to die. Let um." Bete proclaimed.
"Us? Die? We're stronger than that thing." Cindy responded.
"Haah haah haah." I chuckled and looked back at Gareth and the others. "We were going to let y'all get some of the excelia, but if that's the way you feel. We'll take it all for ourselves." I told the Loki Familia.
I turned back to face the demi-spirit. "It's all ours girls. Go half dragon and take it out!" I called out to my Team and started running towards the demi-spirit.
"YEESSSS!" I heard Cindy yell behind me.
By the time I had taken my third step, titanium dragon wings had sprouted from my back and a titanium dragon tail had sprouted from my tail bone. I flapped my wings with a great down thrust so I could take to the air.
Before I was fully in the air, the demi-spirit had finished its chant and we were being bombarded with fire. Even though the magical fire couldn't hurt me or my Team, I used my fire control to gather the fire and send it back at the demi-spirit.
"AAAAHHHHGGGG!" The demi-spirit screamed as it closed six giant leaves or petals around itself to protect itself from magical attacks.
"WHAAA!?" I heard Bete say from behind me
"How?" Tiona asked.
I looked over my shoulder and grinned before turning back to the demi-spirit.
"Take out those huge armor petals first thing." I called to my Team as I summoned Sasori to my hand as I flew towards the demi-spirit.
"Wait! We can't let them have all the fun!" Tiona exclaimed.
"I'm not letting those clowns show me up!" Bete proclaimed.
"Wait. Let's see what happens before we start running in. Take care of all of the other monsters for now." Finn told his party.
I raised Sasori and as I threw it at the demi-spirit, I used Doppelganger and created thirty copies. I summoned Sasori back to my hand a second after I released it.
Because I know about the demi-spirit's shield leaves or petals I used quite a bit of force. The demi-spirit covered itself with the petals, but the copies of Sasori sunk halfway into the demi-spirit.
"AAAAAHHHHHHGGGGGG!" The demi-spirit screamed in anger and pain.
Cindy had done close to the same thing as I had. She threw one of her Gossip Yuanyang Tomahawk and created thirty of them as it left her hand. But instead of just throwing them at the demi-spirit, Cindy used her Metal Control, to create what looked like a skill saw blade with the copies of her Gossip Yuanyang Tomahawk. She used the blades to cut at the demi-spirit.
"OOOOOOOO!!" The demi-spirit yelled as one of its protective peddles fell to the ground because of Cindy's attack.
"[Keep it up. This thing has regeneration, so it heals itself fairly quickly.]" I said and sent to my Team.
The demi-spirit started another chant.
I saw Kimmy flying up to the opposite side that Cindy was on, swinging her pole axe cutting into the demi-spirit. The demi-spirit swung its arm at Kimmy hitting her and sending her flying across the cavern.
"AAAAARRRRRGGGGGG!" Kimmy yelled at being hit.
"[Are you OK?]" I asked Kimmy.
"[Did you see that!? That think hit me!]" Kimmy told me.
I chuckled. "[Well, what are you going to do about it?]" I asked.
Kimmy didn't answer, she just flew straight at the demi-spirit with Sioc (Shockwave), her pole axe leading the way.
Iris was on the same side as Cindy. She was using the hooks on her hook swords to cut into and slice at one of the shield petals.
The demi-spirit finished its chant and released lightning bolts at us. Iris, Kimmy and I all used our electrical Control to pull in the electrical attack. I shot the lightning back at the demi-spirit. Iris did the same thing, collecting some of the lightning and sent it right back at the monster. Kimmy on the other hand pulled in the lightning and condensed it into Sioc so when she stabbed the demi-spirit with the top spike sending Sioc into the demi-spirit, she released the lightning into the demi-spirit.
I love it when one of my Team comes up with something new.
"AAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" The demi-spirit screamed in pain as it started to fall to the side.
"[Iris, do the same as Kimmy. Stab the monster with your hook swords and send an electrical charge into it.]" I sent to Iris.
[Gotcha.] Iris sent back as she stabbed the demi-spirit with both of here hook swords, Plandai(Plants) and Jord(Earth) and sent a large charge of electricity into the demi-spirit.
Kimmy created more electricity and sent it into the demi-spirit.
I flew in dodging the demi-human's arm swinging at me, and stabbed Sasori into the demi-spirit as Iris stabbed Plandai and Jord into the demi-spirit. As soon as Sasori's blade was in the demi-spirit, I released a charge of electricity into it as well.
With three charges of electricity hitting the insides of the demi-spirit, the monster screamed then fell to the ground. Moments later it went up in a cloud of smoke and ash, and the magic stone fell to the ground.
"We killed it!" Iris yelled. "Whoo hoo! We killed a demi-spirit!" Cindy called out. "We did it. We killed it all by ourselves." Kimmy announced. "Team STRNG (Starling) did it again!" I called along with the others.
"[But we're not finished yet. There are still plenty of those violas and caterpillar monsters to deal with.]" I reminded my Team.
"[Let's do it. Let's finish off those other monsters.]" Iris said and sent.
"[She's going to get us killed one of these days.]" Cindy replied with a smirk on her face as she started flying off so she could kill the other monsters.
"[Let's go then!]" I said and took off to another area of the floor to kill the violas and caterpillar monsters.
"[Wait for me! don't leave me out of this!]" Kimmy called and started towards an area between Cindy and Iris.
It took all of us a while to kill off most of the monsters that remained on the 59th floor.
We didn't worry about killing all of the monsters on this floor because that would be a waste of time. All we needed to do was kill most of them, so we didn't have to 'worry' about them so we could get back up to the 58th floor.
I flew over and landed by the Loki Familia. Iris, Cindy and Kimmy landed behind me. I shifted back to full human form and looked over my shoulder. "Full human, girls." I told them.
Cindy walked up beside me. "That was fun. Are there any more giant monsters we can take care of?" She asked.
I looked down at Cindy for a moment then I looked over at Iris. I nodded my head towards Cindy. "She's going to get us killed one of these days." I said to my Team.
"Haha haha haha haha haha." Iris laughed.
"He he he he." Kimmy giggled.
Cindy threw up her hand in the air in surrender. "All right, all right. I get it. I pulled an Iris." She said admitting she had done exactly what Iris usually does.
"That was awesome! The four of you taking out that monster like that!" Tiona exclaimed as she walked over to us.
"How were you able to not only block the demi-spirit's magic attack, but send it's own attack back at the demi-spirit?" Riveria asked as she looked at me with one eye closed.
"One's abilities would be considered a Familia secret, wouldn't it?" I asked Riveria.
"Not necessarily. If your ability can be seen by others, it's not a secret." Finn replied. I nodded my head in agreement. "That's true. Besides I had that ability before I received a falna. So, it isn't really a Familia secret. I am an elementalist." I started.
"What kind of crap is that!?" Bete asked.
"An elementalist is someone that can control the elements. I can create and control air, water, earth, fire, metals and electricity." I told them.
"You can do all of that?" Lefiya asked confused.
I turned to Lefiya. "With your staff, you can create and control electricity or did you forget." I said.
Lefiya looked at the ground. "I-I haven't had a chance to p-practice." She admitted.
"I believe you'll have plenty of time to practice on the way back up to the 50th floor." I suggested.
"Y-yes, yes I will." Lefiya said with determination.
Finn had everyone stop at the entrance to the tunnel to the 58th floor to take a short break.
"We'll take a short break here before we head on up to the 58th floor." Finn told the group.
Once everyone was seated. "Are you and your battle party going to go back up with us?" Finn asked me.
I shook my head, no. "Hadn't planned on it. I thought we'd let y'all take care of the monsters on the 59th floor." I said then looked over to Tsubaki. "I'm sure some of you would like to get their hands on some of the drop items from the Valgang Dragons. I said with a chuckle, then I looked back to Finn. "After y'all head on up to the 57th floor. My Team will stay down here for six hours to give you time to get back up to the 51st floor. Then we'll head on home." I finished.
"Are you sure you don't want to travel back up with us?" Riveria asked.
"No need. We'll be just fine by ourselves." I replied.
"Guh! With how the four of ya took down that demi-spirit. I believe ya can take care of yourselves." Gareth put in.
"Let's get ready to get going out here." Finn told the group.
Once on the 58th floor, my Team sat back and watched the Loki Familia fight the monsters. Well, it was more like Lefiya and Riveria used their magic on the monsters. After they collected all of the magic stones and drop items, they headed on up to the 57th floor, while my Team stayed on the 58th floor to keep it clear so the Valgang Dragons wouldn't be able to home in on Ais, Finn and the others while they were heading on up to the 51st floor.
I had told Finn; we killed the monster on the 58th floor for six hours. We actually stayed a little longer because it took the Loki Familia longer to get back up to the 51st floor. After that I ported my Team to the PD in the abandoned church.
==========
After getting back home after helping out the Loki Familia. We went to Hestia to have our status updated. Hestia met us in our tent behind the house in the PD.
"You all went down to the 59th floor?!" Hestia asked both shocked and surprised.
"Yes, we did. We wanted to help out the Loki Familia." I told Hestia.
"Why would you help out Loki?" Hestia said with some anger in her voice.
"I know you don't like Loki and you have good reason to. Although if I remember correctly, Loki has been treating you a lot better lately." I reminded Hestia.
"That's true."
"Plus, just because you might not like Loki. That does not mean we should let some of her followers get killed in the Dungeon if we can prevent it. Besides it makes us and the Hestia Familia look good and it puts Loki in our debt." I added.
Hestia got a gleam in her eye. "Yes, it does. Loki in debt to my Familia. I like that."
I pulled my shirt off and laid on the bed so Hestia could update my status. Hestia sat on my upper legs and started on my status.
"I don't know how you did it, but all of your stats went up a little. I'm not even sure how that is possible because of how high your status is already." Hestia told me. "You're finished." She said and moved off of my legs.
"I'm next!" Iris called excitedly as she pulled off her shirt and took my place on the bed.
Again, Hestia straddled Iris's legs and pricked her finger and placed a dop of ichor onto Irises back. After a moment Hestia looked at me. "All of her stats are all "SSS" She went up as well. What did you do down there?" Hestia asked.
I chuckled and Cindy Giggled. "I'll give you a full report after you are finished with our status updates." I offered.
Hestia nodded her head in agreement. "Ok, you're finished." She told Iris and moved over so Iris could get up.
Cindy went next. Her stats went up as a little more than mine had, and lastly Hestia updated Kimmy's status. All of her stats went up by one "S" as well.
No one received any skills but all of you did go up some, so that is good." Hestia told us.
I offered Hestia a seat and once she had sat down, I told Hestia what we had done on the 58th and 59th floors.
"Although we're not going to report that to the Guild because they will want to know how four, level one adventurers could go that far down into the Dungeon." I added.
"No kidding. That would be a real pain. So, this stays a Familia secret." Hestia agreed.

Sword Oritoria Chapter 5
Side stories
I knew when Ais started teaching Bell the finer points of fighting, that Freya would get involved. She would send some of her Familia members to give Ais a warning. I planned on being there to give Freya and her Familia a warning of my own.
Since I know when Allen and the Gulliver brothers would attack Ais, I bided my time. Allan and the Gulliver brothers would make their attack in the evening after Hestia finds out that Ais ass training Bell.
I used Umbramancy or Shadow Magic to cloak myself in shadow so they would not be able to know who I really was and waited out of sight. Right after Alan and the Gulliver brothers gave Ais the waring, I reached out telekinetically and grabbed them so they couldn't get away. I pulled them away from where Hestia, Bell and Ais were.
"Let us go! Release us immediately!" Allen demanded.
"Haah haah haah." I laughed at Alen. "How are you going to make me do that?" I asked.
"I will kill you if you don't release us!" Allen threatened me.
"Haah haah." I laughed at him again. "You can't get away, so how are you going to do anything to me? YOU are under my complete control at the moment." I told Allan as I separated him from the four prums. I raised Allen up then slammed him against the ground a couple times then I brought him to where I could see him clearly. "Now are you going to shut up or do I keep slamming you into the ground until you can't talk anymore?" I asked bringing out my dragon aura.
I could feel all five of them shaking from fear from the dragon aura and I grinned. None of them made a sound.
"That is better. Now you go back and tell Freya to leave Bell Cranel and the Hestia Familia alone or she will regret it." I told them.
"How dare you threaten goddess Freya! We will end you here and now!" one of the Gulliver brothers threatened me.
I chuckled at them and flew up two miles into the air. "Try it now." I offered as I pointed down to the ground and Orario which was only the size of a frying pan from this far up. "But if I release you now, I hope you can… fly." I told them smiling evilly at them. Then I released them from the telekinetic hold, letting them fall back down to the ground.
I flew down following the five Freya members as they plummeted to the ground.
"[We are over three kilometers above the ground right now. Do you think you can survive that kind of fall?]" I yelled to them and sent as well so they would know what I was saying because all five of them were doing a lot of yelling and screaming at the moment.
I waited around ten seconds. "[Are you going to STOP threatening Me?]" I asked them.
"YES, WE WILL STOP THREATENING YOU!" Allen yelled over the sound of the air rushing past us.
I reached out telekinetically, grabbed them and slowed down their decent.
"[You will take my warning back to Freya and tell her exactly what I said. There will be no leeway in the matter.]" I said and sent to them.
As we dropped closer to the ground, I flew all of us one mile outside of the city walls. "This is what happens when you threaten me." I told them and released the telekinetic hold on them when we were a hundred feet in the air. That kind of fall won't kill them although it should hurt them some. "Bye bye, have fun." I said as they started to fall. Then I flew back to Orario.
==========
A few days after Lulune, Ais and I opened our Gnome vaults, Ais came looking for me to give me some news.
"I talked to Loki, Finn, Gareth and Riveria. They agreed to meet with you. Loki said they would meet with you outside in the garden. Sorry." Ais told me apologetically.
I nodded my head in understanding. "No surprise. I wouldn't want any of them going into my Familia home, either." I replied. "Did they give a time?" I asked.
Ais nodded her head, yes. "Ten, tomorrow morning. If you can make it." Ais replied.
"Sounds good. I'll be there. Thank you, Ais."
"No problem."
The next day I made my way to Twilight Manor. Taima came along with me in her small cat form.
I walked up to the gate. "Hello, I have an appointment to see Loki, Garith, Finn and Riveria." I told one of the guards.
The guard gave me a severe look. "Who are you." She demanded.
"I'm Eilwyn Tengee." I replied.
Finn walked up to the gate at that time. "Right on time Eilwyn Tengee." Finn told me. Then he turned to the guard. "Let him in."
The guards opened the gate so I could walk through. "Thank you." I told the guards and gave them a small bow. Then I looked at Finn.
Finn motioned with his hand for me to go with him. "This way." He added.
I followed Finn to a table and chairs that had been set up off to the side in a small garden. Riveria and Gareth were already sitting at the table.
"Please have a seat." Finn offered.
I nodded my head towards Gareth and Riveria as I sat down. "Good to see you again." I told them.
"Welcome." Riveria replied.
"Yes, welcome, welcome. It is good to see you as well." Gareth told me in his jovial style.
Taking a quick look around. "Will Loki be here soon or are y'all going to question me to make sure I'm safe to be around before she shows up?" I asked.
Finn smiled. "Now, now, we aren't going to interrogate you. Loki should be here shortly." Finn told me cheerfully.
I returned Finn's smile. "You're not going to interrogate me directly, but you have questions you hope will take my answers in the direction you want them to go. And get answers you want to know about me, as expected." I responded.
"Haah haah haah." Gareth started laughing. "He's got you pegged Finn." He said after he got his laughter under control.
I turned to Gareth. "Gareth, you know you should not give away information like that." I chided him with a grin on my face.
"Haah haah haah." Gareth laughed again.
"Well, what are we up to?" Loki asked as she walked up to the table and took a seat. "And why do you want to talk to me and the leaders of my Familia?" She continued, looking straight at me with her perpetual squint. "Aren't you that guy that helped my Familia on the 50th floor?"
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes I am." I chuckled. "I want to give you some information, some advice and an offer or two." I told Loki vaguely what I was there for.
Loki squinted her eyes even more as she looked at me. "Why would you want to 'give' us information?" She asked me as if questioning that I could tell her anything she didn't already know.
"Giving you the information will help save Orario and many of your followers." I replied.
Still staring straight at me. "Why would you be concerned about my children? You don't even know them." Loki inquired skeptically.
I chuckled. "I can't say I know them really well, but I do know many of them. And I know more about them, than them being first tier adventurers."
I motioned towards Riveria with my hand. "Riveria here, is a stick in the mud. She is staunch, upright and proud. But she has a good heart and cares about those around her, her friends and family." I started.
Gareth started laughing when I said, Riveria was a stick in the mud. "He does know you, Riveria."
Riveria looked at Gareth with one eye closed. "Shut up, Gareth." Riveria turned her one-eyed stare at me.
I chuckled. "And your teaching style is lacking. It's not bad but it is also not that good. You need to learn to give praise when a student does good, and you need to relax a bit."
I turned to Gareth and pointed at him. "And you Gareth… I really can't say much of anything bad about you, other than you can be a bit 'too' lenient with your fellow Familia members. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but it can lead to being bad from time to time." I told Gareth.
And last I turned to Finn.
Finn looked at me with a smile, but he had a curious expression on his face as well. "What do you know about me?" He asked.
I chuckled. "You, Finn, are a very intelligent person. That is one thing you might look at when you try to revive your race. Most Prum's seem to be on the higher end of the intelligent scale. You do care for you fellow Familia members, but I could see you turning on them if they did something that would harm your quest to be 'the' Prum's hero." I started.
Finn's smile had turned into a frown. "I would not!?" He exclaimed.
I grinned at Finn and nodded my head up and down several time. "It might be as a last resort, but, yes, you would. What you need to do is stop trying to be a fake hero and try to be a real hero. A real hero will do what they feel or deem necessary with NO thought about themselves. A true hero will willingly destroy his own honor and pride to save someone in need, and once their honor is destroyed, they will rise like a phoenix from the ashes of their destroyed honor, and they will come back stronger than ever. 'If' they are a true hero. There is one, up and coming adventurer you should keep an eye on. He is a true hero."
"I did not allow you to come to my home to insult my children!" Loki told me forcefully, half standing up.
Finn had an angry look on his face, but he also looked thoughtful as well.
I smiled at Loki. "I am not insulting anyone. I'm stating what I have seen and observed about your followers. If later my observations prove to be incorrect. I will gladly apologize at that time." I offered. "But if they take my observations to heart and learn from them. They could become stronger and better leaders than they are right now."
Loki sat back down, but she kept looking at me. "Ok, I'll accept that for now." She told me.
"What is the information you have? And what will it cost us?" Riveria asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. "As I said before I want to help save Orario and I would prefer if none of the Loki Familia members or anyone else dies, if the information is used. So there is no cost involved." I told Riveria.
"You fought the plant monsters on the 18th floor. As you know I was there as well." I started.
"Yes, you protected Ais from that red headed monster tamer." Riveria stated.
I nodded my head in agreement. "She is not a monster tamer. Because of her connections to a person calling himself Enyo, she can control any of the plant monsters. That woman's name is Levis and she is a hybrid of human and monster. Ais might have already mentioned that to y'all already." I told them.
"But, who is this Enyo character?" Loki asked.
"Believe it or not, Enyo is Dionysus. If you are willing to talk to Hestia, she will tell you that Dionysus was a strange character even in the upper world." I told them.
"That pip squeak? Why would I talk to her?" Loki asked.
I shrugged my shoulders. "You may not like Hestia, but she did know Dionysus in the upper world. I believe she knew him better than most anyone else, and even though you don't like Hestia, you do know she's not going to lie about something like that." I added.
"It is something to think about." Gareth put in.
"Yes, it is." Finn agreed.
"Even Ouranos doesn't know who Enyo is yet. You have that information before he does." I added.
"Filvis, Dionysus' captain is also known as, Ein. She is another creature like Levis. It happened by accident. When the nightmare on the 27th floor happened, Filvis almost died but somehow a magic stone got imbedded in her chest and revived her be making her a human-monster hybrid. She has a new magic that allows her to make a copy of herself at the cost of halving her magic ability. As far as I know they can't communicate mind to mind, so they don't know what each half is up to at any given time. I would go so far as to say Filvis is the good half and Ein is the bad or evil half." I explained.
"We should keep Filvis away from Lefiya if Eilwyn is correct." Riveria stated.
"Yes, it probably would be a good idea." Finn put in.
"I would allow Filvis to help teach Lefiya to use concurent chanting. But after that It would be a good idea to limit their association." I suggested.
"That was the information, now for the advice." I looked around the table. "My advice is about Ais."
Before I could go any farther Loki cut me off. "What about my Aisuu!?" She demanded.
I chuckled. "You are doing both yourself and Ais a major disservice. Because of who and what Ais is, you are losing a big opportunity." I continued.
"What do you mean I'm doing Ais a disservice? And what do 'you' know about my Aisuu?" Loki asked indignant.
"Ais has 'spirit' blood in her. So, by not allowing her to have a boyfriend or husband, although that can wait three to five years. You are losing the opportunity for her to have children with spirit blood as well." I told Loki.
"How do you know Ais has spirit blood in her, and if so why would her children have spirit blood as well?" Finn asked with his elbows on the table and his fingers steepled in front of his face.
"Ais having spirit blood is just one of those things I know. As for her children having spirit blood, just look at the Crozzo Family before they were cursed. Every new generation had spirit blood in them all the way down to this day. Even if the family is cursed and can't make magic swords anymore, they still have spirit blood in them. Even after all those years and generations. So, Ais's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and on and on, will have spirit blood in them. If you, Loki, prevent Ais from getting married to who she wants to marry, you will lose out on all of her offspring for generations to come." I explained.
"Hhmmm, maybe." Loki said more to herself than to me.
"I am interested in how you know all of this." Finn said.
"I know some of the future. Not all of it but some of it." I replied.
"Now for the offer or two." I said looking directly at Loki. "You don't like Hestia because of her chest size. Or rather the difference between her chest size and your chest size."
Loki crossed her arms over her chest. "What about it!?" She said sourly.
I raised my hands up in front of myself with one hand a little higher and farther in front of the other hand. I wiggled my fingers up and down. As I did that for show, I increased Loki's bust size to a C-Cup. "Would that make you think twice about being hostile towards Hestia." I asked pointing at Loki's chest.
Loki looked down at her larger than normal bust line with shock and surprise on her face. "What…? How…?" Was all Loki could get out as she looked from her chest to me then back to her chest.
Riveria's eyes went wide when she saw what had happened to Loki's chest.
"Uh!" Finn sucked in air at seeing Loki's chest increase in size. "How it that possible!?" He queried.
Gareth on the other hand, after his initial shock. "Haah haah haah!" He laughed heartily. "Well, you have always wanted them to be bigger." Gareth told Loki.
"How are you able to do that to a god?" Finn asked me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Don't really know how I am able to do it. I just know I can do it." I replied and turned back to Loki.
"I'm not asking you to be buddy-buddy with Hestia. I'm just asking that you tone down your animosity be 80%." I told Loki.
"And if I don't?" Loki inquired.
I grinned at Loki. "You go back to the way you were." I said and shrugged my shoulders. "It is totally up to you." I added.
"Why would you want me to stop treating Itty Bitty like I have been treating her?"
"Because I joined the Hestia Familia, and I would like the two of you to stop being antagonistic with each other. And if you noticed, I said, both of you, not just you." I added.
"Do you agree to do as I ask to keep your new bust line?" I asked Loki. "I will talk to Hestia to get her to back off as well." I added.
Loki gave me a long look through her squinted eyes for several moments before she nodded her head, yes. "As long as Itty Bitty agrees as well."
I nodded my head in agreement. "That's all I need to hear, although calling Hestia, Itty Bitty doesn't look good. But I would accept you calling her 'Short Stack'." I told Loki with a grin.
"I can live with calling her Short Stack." Loki admitted.
After a moment's pause. I turned and looked at Finn, Gareth then Riveria. "Now for the last offer. What would you think if you could take everything you need into the Dungeon and not have to carry anything with you." I asked.
"That is not possible as you very well know." Finn stated.
"Are you sure…?" I asked and opened a portal to a PD, just inside the fence. I stood up and walked over to the side of the portal. "You can put everything you need in here, then close it up. You will have to carry nothing other than what you need for the moment. Once you're in the Dungeon you open the portal, walk in and get what you need. There is a kitchen that restocks itself every day and will feed fifty people three meals a day. At night everyone can enter the PD, that's short for Pocket Dimension, and close the portal so no monsters can get in. Set up tents and leave them set up permanently. Everyone gets a good night's sleep without having to post guards or worry about monsters. Then open the portal and everyone exits the PD, and they go on their way." I informed them. "And a side note, anyone that is seriously injured can be put in the PD so they can be taken care of without having to be carried out of the Dungeon."
When I opened the PD, I set it up so there was a large kitchen and dining room and large men's and women's bathrooms with showers and Far East style bathtubs. There was also a large patio off of the kitchen. If they buy it, they can set up tents or yurts around the main building to sleep in.
There were two creeks, one on either side of the house, they each flow into separate ponds that are secluded behind hedge rows for privacy. The ponds can be used for bathing as well. The water from the ponds flows on to a beach of a small ocean.
"You can have a tour if you would like to see what is included." I offered.
All four looked at each other for a moment then they each in turn looked at me.
"Why not, yaeh?" Loki said in her usual upbeat, carefree way.
Finn and Riveria walked through the portal first. I followed right after them, and Loki and Gareth followed behind me.
I walked them through the house, although in this PD it is mainly just a kitchen, dining room and bathrooms or locker rooms. I took them out onto the patio. Then I pointed out the bathing ponds and the beach and ocean.
"If you buy it, you can use a pad on the wall by the front door to set up the PD however you want. You can add more trees around the house. You can set the temperature and weather how you want it. And because there is not enough room for everyone to stay in the house you can set up tents in the back yard and just leave them there. Or you could even build bunk houses or cabins and they will stay there until you tear them down." I informed them.
"And as a bonus for you. You can set up the PD close to your kitchen in Twilight Manor and use the PD's pantry for food. That would save you quite a bit of money on food. Accept of course when the PD is being used as a base in the Dungeon that is. You can also plant a garden and an orchard, but they would have to be cared for like any other garden or orchard. They won't take care of themselves. If you set it up by the kitchen, it can be used as a place to go to when the weather outside is rainy or cold as well." I added.
"How much do you want for it?" Finn asked as he looked at me from the corner of his eye.
"Normally it would be 300 million valis, but because of Ais paid me back twice as much as she, Tiona, Tione and Lefiya owed me together. I'll take one hundred million valis from the total. So, it will only be two hundred million valis.
"Are you crazy!?" Loki demanded.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Free food for fifty people for three meals a day, a safe place to stay while in the dungeon. Just go in and shut the portal and no monsters can get in. Plus, it is five miles from the house to the edge of the PD, so you have an area larger than Orario itself to wonder around in, to live in, to farm or whatever else you want to do. Besides if you paid one million valise a month that would only be seventeen years to pay it off. Or if you paid two million valis a month it would only take eight and a half years to pay off." I suggested. "I'm sure you could make either payment with ease."
"If we decide to buy this PD, how will we be able to open it up and close it?" Finn asked.
"There are several different ways that can be set up. I believe the easiest and safest way would to have three of you agree to open the PD and point to the same place at the same time. That would trigger the portal to open. To close the portal from the inside a post could be set up beside where the portal will open, and all you have to do is push a button on the post and the portal closes. To close the portal from the outside would be the same as opening the portal. Three of you agree to close the portal and all three of you point at the portal and it will close. I would set the three of you to be able to open the portal to begin with. And so, you can allow others to open the portal I'll set it so the three of you and Loki have to agree to who else gets to open the portal and then all four of you clasp hands with that person. Then they will be able to open the portal with any two other people that can already open the portal." I suggested. "Although if the portal is left open on the surface, you won't be able to open the portal down in the Dungeon. The portal will have to be closed on the surface, then once you are in the dungeon or anywhere else for that matter, you will be able to open the portal in the new location." I added.
"Will you allow us to talk it over to see if we want to buy this PD from you?" Finn asked.
"Not a problem. For that much money, I would expect you to give it some thought." I replied. "In fact, I will leave the portal open here so you can give it a good looking over to see what you think of it. After twenty-four hours it will close. So, make sure no one is in it at that time. Although I would suggest you don't go talking about it to just anyone."
"That would be good." Riveria said. "How do we contact you if we want to buy it?"
"I'll be back in, five days? To see what your decision is." I offered.
"That should be enough time to decide whether we want to buy it or not." Finn agreed.
I stood up from the table. "I'll see y'all in five days then." I said and turned to leave.
I turned back to the table. "I'll even through in a freebee for everyone, if you buy the PD. It is what I call a personal closet PD. It is like the PD here, but it is only the size of a large closet so you can put personal items in it. It is really convenient in the Dungeon because supporters can carry extra weapons in it, and they can put magic stones and drop items into them without adding any extra weight to be carried." I explained. "If you buy the PD, I'll give every member of the Loki Familia a personal closet PD at no extra charge and I'll even give any future Loki members one as well up to one hundred people." I added to my offer.
I turned back around and walked over to the gate, then on home.
After I arrived back at the run-down church, I talked to Hestia about taking it easier on Loki from now on and why.
==========
My Team and I waited at Central Park to see off the Loki Familia expedition. We agreed to take the day off of Dungeon diving. Because with the Loki expedition going through the upper floors of the Dungeon, we probably wouldn't get as many magic stones. I also wanted to be able to time when I need to go into the Dungeon to help out Bell and Ais.
I'm not going to 'listen in' to everyone in the first group. Especially Tiona. She's like a non-stop chatter box. I'll keep an ear out for Riveria and Finn as well. They are in the first group that will go into the Dungeon and they both will go after Ais who will try to find Bell.
It didn't take very long for the group Ais was in to run into the adventurers running from the Minotaur. I 'watched' where Ais ran to.
I had already talked to my Team about me going into the Dungeon to help Ais get past Ottar. They wanted to go with me, but they understood that having to many observers was not a good idea. I agreed to leave a telepathic link open so they could see and hear what was going on. It would be the next best thing to being there.
"This is it girls. Ais is heading out to help Bell." I told them right before I ported to a secluded spot when Ottar showed himself to Ais. Or rather Ottar blocked Ais's path to get to Bell.
I ported to the passageway behind Ottar, the passage he was guarding to prevent Ais from going down to get to Bell. As soon as I arrived in the Dungeon, I Nullified Freya's ability to use Magic Mirror. Magic Mirror allows the 'gods' to be able to see what the 'children' are doing on Earth. All of the 'gods' can still use Magic Mirror while they are in the lower world, but most don't see any reason to use it. I don't want Freya to be able to see what is happening with Bell while he fights the Minotaur. Which means I will be ruining Freya's 'entertainment'.
As I walked from behind Ottar. "Freya's really pissing me off." I said to the room in general.
"Uh, you!" Ais exclaimed, sucking in air.
Ottar turned to look at me standing off to the side.
I waved Ais forward and on to the passage Ottar was blocking. "Go on and help Bell. Although just make sure you give him a few moments to rest and don't interfere in his fight. Just stand between Bell and the monster for a few moments." I told Ais.
Ottar just glanced at me while keeping his eyes on Ais.
Ais looked at me then to Ottar. She took a couple steps but Ottar moved to block her.
I took a few steps closer to Ottar. "You'll have to fight me before you even think about stopping Ais." I informed Ottar. "Your fellow Familia members either didn't give Freya my warning or she thinks my warning is meaningless. Both are very dangerous things to do. So I'm going to give you a warning to give to Freya. 'Leave Bell Cranel and his Familia alone or suffer my wrath.'" I said as I took another couple steps closer to Ottar.
Before Ottar could do anything, I balled up my fist and swung at Ottar. Ottar brought his sword up to block my attack. For most people this would have worked quite well, but not for me. As my fist struck the sword it shatters into hundreds of pieces. My fist continued and made contact with Ottar's solar plexus. A milli second later Ottar went flying into the Dungeon wall, with Ottar's whole body sinking into the wall.
Again, I motioned for Ais to go on and help Bell.
Ais looked at me for a moment. "He's stronger than the king." She said to herself in amazement as she ran past me.
I looked at where Ottar was embedded in the wall then I snapped my fingers. In doing that I healed Bell. I ported back to the PD in the ruined church the Hestia Familia was living in. I left the rest to Ais.
==========
Go to the Guild to see Eina and Misha.
Several days after we ranked up to Level two, Cindy and I along with Taima and Zala, stopped by the Guild. I didn't want to overwhelm Eina again, so I left the rest of my Team to their own devices. Taima was in her small cat form while Zala was in her lizard form laying across Cindy's shoulders and neck.
Cindy and I tried to go to the Guild at a time there would be very few adventurers around. Walking into the Guild there was only one person other than us in the hall. We walked over to the counter.
Eina and Misha were both at their desks doing some paperwork. "Kuh, kuh." I fake coughed to get Eina's attention.
Eina looked up at the counter. When she saw who it was Eina stood up and walked over to the counter. "Eilwyn, Cinnamon, what brings you here today?" She asked.
"Hi, Eina." Cindy said.
"Hello Eina. I was hoping to talk to you and Misha for a few minutes, if you have the time." I told Eina.
"Me and Misha?" Eina asked looking over at Misha. "Um, I think we could take a few minutes for you."
I nodded my head up and down. "We'll meet you over in the booth." I Told Eina. Cindy and I walked over to the booth and sat down to wait for the two guild workers.
A minute or two later Eina and Misha walked over to the booth we were sitting in.
I stood up." Please have a seat." I offered and motioned to the other bench seat. Once Eina and Misha had sat down, I sat back down as well.
"What do you want to talk to us about?" Eina asked a little confused.
I smiled. "For one. I would like to apologize for freaking you out the other day. We probably should have space out coming in to tell you we had ranked up." I started.
"N-no, that was my fault. I shouldn't have acted that way." Eina apologized.
I shook my head from side to side. "Not your fault."
"We were just so excited about ranking up, we didn't think about how you would take all of us ranking up at the same time." Cindy put in.
"No, no. I should be used to all the strange things that happen to adventurers by now." Eina told us.
"At least until your little brother showed up." Misha told Eina.
"Misha! Stop it!" Eina chided Misha.
I chuckled and Cindy giggled at Misha and Eina.
"And the second thing. I have something for the both of you, and before you say anything. This has nothing to do with trying to get either one of you to go out on a date with me. I'm sure you've both noticed that other than myself, my whole Team is girls. They would kill me if I tried to ask either of you out on a date." I informed Eina and Misha. Although it really wasn't true. If I really wanted to ask either of them out, my Team wouldn't have any problem with it. Other than teasing me about getting more girls for my harem. But I am NOT looking for more girls.
"Then what do you want to give us?" Misha asked with some excitement in her voice.
I chuckled. "This." I said as two fairies flew into the room and over to the booth we were sitting at. Both fairies landed on the table in front of their partner.
"Girls!" I called to the two fairies. "What do you think you are doing, coming in here with no clothes on!" I chastised them.
I pulled out two sets of 'adjustable clothes' and handed them to the fairies. "Get dressed." I told them.
"Wh-what are they? Fairies?" Eina asked. While Misha was looking back and forth between the fairies and me.
"They are known as Companions. I pointed to the Fairy in front of Eina." She's Fuli and she is your Companion, Eina." Then I pointed to the Fairy in front of Misha. "And this one is Nori, and she is your Companion, Misha." I introduced them. "And I should mention that you can talk mind to mind or telepathically with your Companion. They can both talk out loud like we are doing right now, as well.
As I was introducing the Companions to Eina and Misha. They both put on the adjustable clothes I had given them.
"They are ours?" Misha asked with shock and surprise on her face.
"Nori will be with you the rest of your life. As long as you treat her good that is. If you mistreat her or are mean to her most of the time. Then she will leave you. The same goes for Eina and Fuli." I told them.
"Now for a little more information about Companions. Each Companion has different abilities, as in strength, agility, magic, shapeshifting. But whatever abilities the Companion has, their partner, gets those abilities as well. If your Companion can shapeshift, you can shapeshift into the same animals as your companion. They each have six different forms they can shift into. The form you see now is their Fairy forms. But they can take the form of a great cat, a scorpion, an insect, a bird of prey and a winged Manticore. That means both of you," I pointed at Misha then Eina. "Can take on those forms as well. Because of your Companions both of you are around a top level one or a low level two adventurer in strength, agility and durability. And you both can even do some magic. Nothing big, but the spells make somethings convenient or easier for you." I informed them.
Misha and Eina were just sitting there staring at their new Companions.
"H-h-how is this possible!?" Eina demanded.
"That is a long story and a story that I don't understand myself. All I know is I am able to give people Companions if I want to." I replied.
"You might want to take a break and get acquainted with your Companions and learn what they and now you can do." I suggested. "If you have any question, any member of my Team will gladly answer them if we can." I offered as I stood up.
Eina Tulle Automation Name: Fuli/F (To bloom like a flower) Mythical (Winged Manticore/Fairy) (Hawk, Clouded Leopard, Scorpion) Intelligent L2 Strength L2 Agility L2 Durability L2 Regeneration L2 Teleportation L1 Sustenance L2 Elemental Blast L1 (Electricity) Size L2 Magical L2 (Mending, Dancing Lights, Servant, Cleaning, Telekinesis) Flight Shapeshift L1 (Winged Manticore, Clouded Leopard, Hawk, Scorpion, Human, Dragon Fly (Fairy)) Venom L1 (Tail, Paralysis)
Misha Automation Name: Nori/F (Peace, Seaweed) Mythical (Winged Manticore/Fairy) (Hawk, Snow Leopard, Scorpion) Intelligent L2 Strength L2 Agility L2 Durability L2 Regeneration L2 Teleportation L1 Sustenance L2 Elemental Blast L1 (Ice) Size L2 Magical L1 (Dancing Lights, servant, Cleaning) Flight Shapeshift L1 (Winged Manticore, Snow Leopard, Hawk, Scorpion, Human, Butterfly (Fairy)) Venom L1 (Tail, Paralysis)
I Nullified Eina and Misha's ability to shapeshift into a different human form, because it is not necessary for them to be able to take on a different human Form. And as usual, I gave both Companions Physical Enhancement Level 2.
While Eina and Misha were still staring at their new Companions. Cindy and I left the Guild Hall.

Sword Oritoria Chapter 4
Going to the 24th floor pantry with Ais and the Hermes Familia
This is going to take very good timing. I have to go to the 7th floor so I can get the things the Soma Familia members took from Lili right after she tricked Bell. But as soon as I finish with that, I have to port to the 10th floor to where Ais and Fels will be, so I can get in on the quest Fels will give Ais to go to the 24th floor pantry.
I dealt with the Soma members as quickly as I could. As soon as I had retrieved everything they had taken from Lili. I ported to the 10th floor to thirty feet away from Ais and Fells.
The 10th floor is the first floor that has fog in it. The fog prevents anyone from seeing more than a ten to twenty feet in front of them. So, with me porting thirty feet away from Ais and Fels it should be fairly difficult for them to notice me. But just in case, I put in their minds that they couldn't see or hear, a mental invisibility, me until I wanted them to see and hear me.
"Hello, mister Fool." I said looking at Fels as I walked to where Fels and Ais could see me better and I dropped the mental invisibility. I glanced at Ais. "Hello Ais." I added.
"W-who are you?" Fels asked me.
"I am Eilwyn Tengee. I'm a member of the Hestia Familia." I introduced myself giving Fels a small bow.
Fels looked at me, or at least I believe he was looking at me because he has no eyes, and his head is covered with a hood.
You can't tell if Fels is male or female. The voice could be ether. Because of that I've decided to call Fels him until I know one way or the other.
"This does not involve you." Fels told me.
I chuckled. "You mean you didn't see me before you started setting up the quest. You know, the quest to meet up with members of another Familia and to go to the 24th floor's pantry." I said to Fels but before he could say anything I turned to Ais. "Thank you for rescuing Bell. I would have helped him, but I was busy doing something else and I knew you would be here for him." I informed Ais.
Ais's eyes grew big, and she took in a quick breath. "Uh! You knew I would rescue Bell Cranel? How?" She asked me.
I gave a deep sigh. "I really need to record this." I said and explained to Ais and Fels about how I know a limited part of the future.
"You saw the future where I talked to Ais about this Quest, then." Fels asked.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, I did. Just like I've seen some of the future of Lydo, Rei and their friends. I hope to help them out and make a better life for them in the near future." I told Fels.
"You know about…?" Fels let the question hang in the air.
Again, I nodded my head in agreement. "Yes, I do know about them. But that is for the future. Right now, we are talking about the quest to the pantry on the 24th floor."
"You wish to take on the quest with Ais and the others?" Fels asked me.
"That's why I'm here." I stated.
"I know nothing about you. How do I know you are capable of completing the quest?" Fels asked me.
I pointed at Ais. "Ais knows some of what I'm capable of doing." I told Fels.
With both Fels and I looking at her, Ais started blushing, but she nodded her head in agreement. "I saw Eilwyn Tengee fight a lot of monsters on the 50th floor. H-he and one o-other… person killed hundreds of giant monsters in only a few minutes." Ais admitted to Fels.
"It appears you are capable of completing the quest." Fels conceded. "Very well, you may take on the quest as well."
"Thank you." I said.
Fels told Us to go to a tavern built into a small cavern in the wall of the 18th floor. After giving us our instructions Fels turned to leave.
"Wait." I stopped Fels. I pulled out the crystal orb I had gotten from Lulune, out of my closet PD and held it out to Fels. "I believe you were wanting this." I told Fels.
Fels looked at me. "What is this?" He asked.
"It's the crystal orb that Lulune was sent to collect on the 18th floor. I wanted to make sure it was kept safe." I told Fels.
Fels reached out and took the orb from my hand. "Yes, it does need to be kept safe. Thank you."
"I'll collect the rest of the reward for delivering the orb when I collect the reward after we finish this quest." I told Fels.
"Yes." Was all Fels said in reply.
With that finished. Ais and I started walking in the direction of the tunnel to the 11th floor.
"Bell didn't run away from you on the tenth floor. He was trying to get away from the monsters so he could get to his supporter who was in a bad situation." I let Ais know.
"Oh!" Is all Ais said.
We walked for a little while, killing monsters when we needed to. Then I brought up Bell again. "Bell took what Bete said the other night at the Benevolent Mistress to heart." I started.
Ais took in a quick breath of air. "Uh!?"
"Bell thinks highly of you, but because of Bete, Bell thinks he's not worthy of even talking to you until he is close to your level. That is one of the main reasons he runs away from you. That and he isn't confident around girls. Around girls he is shy. Been there, done that." I told Ais with a chuckle.
"I see." Ais said just above a whisper as she looked over her shoulder back the way we had come, as if she was trying to see where Bell was.
We walked in silence for some time when out of the blue. "How were you able to get so strong?" Ais asked me.
I chuckled. "It's a long story that I don't even understand myself, so it wouldn't do any good to tell you." I replied to Ais's question.
"You should know that any time you want to get stronger, I'll help you out. As you saw on the 50th floor, I'm extremely fast, strong and durable. I'm telling you this because, as I said earlier, I can see some of the future, and I've seen you go to the Freya Familia's home to ask Ottar to train you. Freya agrees and makes a contract with you. It wouldn't be too bad but it's a binding contract that you will have to pay back sooner or later. Because of that, Fraya puts a leash on you, both figuratively and literally. You will be bound to pay Freya back, and being bound to Freya like that is a very dangerous position for you to be in." I informed Ais.
Ais's eyes got big with surprise, shock and a little doubt. "I don't believe I would go to Freya for anything." She stated.
I nodded my head in agreement. "Under normal circumstances, no, you would not go to Freya. But under the circumstances in the future, you go to Freya or Ottar really, to get stronger. I just want to save you from getting put under Freya's control by being indebted to her."
"If you know the future. Why don't you train Bell Cranel how to fight?" Ais asked.
"I would, but… the future I've seen, you offer to train him. Actually, you tell Bell that you will train him when you return the vambrace." I said and pointed to the item Ais had in her hand. "Bell respects you and thinks highly of you, so if you trained him yourself it would do him more good right now, than if I trained him." I explained.
"Is that true?" Ais asked.
I nodded my head, yes. "Yes, it is."
"Oh, speaking of which. If you save someone from a monster. Instead of saying, 'I'll save you now' or something on those lines. Instead say, 'You have weakened the monster enough that I will be able to finish it off easily,' or ' You have wounded the monster enough that it will be easy for me to finish killing it.' That way when you save someone, they won't feel weak or pitiful by having to have someone else save them. It bolsters their ego so they will not put themselves down by having to be saved." I added.
"Uh!" Ais sucked in air, surprised. "I… I never thought about it that way. I'm, sorry." Ais replied.
I chuckled. "You're as bad as Bell is. You keep apologizing for no reason or when it is not your fault." I said, shrugging my shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal.
"Excuse me for a moment." I told Ais and looked off into space. "[Tamia, get the Team together and port them to the 18th floor. I'll be there shortly.]" I said out loud and sent to Taima. I don't have to talk out loud when I talk telepathically with anyone. Although it is easier for me to do if I do talk out loud though.
[I'll let them know. We should be there if a few minutes.] Taima replied.
"[That's good. You have plenty of time. We're on the 12th floor right now. I'll see you there.]" I sent and ended the conversation.
Ais was staring at me with confusion on her face. "Wh-why were you talking to yourself like that?" She asked me.
I chuckled. "I wasn't talking to myself. I was talking to Taima, telepathically or mind-to-mind. I want my Team here to help with the quest. They can use the experience and it will be good to have the extra manpower, or in this case, womanpower, since all the members of my Team except myself are females."
"S-sorry. I've never heard of anyone able to do that before." Ais told me.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Please don't apologize, you didn't know so you have nothing to be sorry for. It's not surprising you've never heard of telepathy before. But it's one of the perks of having a Companion. You and your Companion can talk to each other telepathically whenever you want. I don't have to talk out loud when I'm using telepathy, but it is easier when I do talk out loud as I send the message mentally." I explained.
We walked in silence most of the way to the 18th floor.
Iris, Kimmy, Cindy and Rosni, along with their Companions, were waiting for us on the 18th floor where the tunnel from the 17th floor exits onto the 18th floor.
Iris ran up to me throwing her arms around me giving me a tight hug. "Are we really going to the 24th floor?" She asked.
I chuckled. "Yes, we are." I told her.
Iris released me and started bouncing up and down. "This is going to be so much fun!" Iris exclaimed.
Kimmy and Cindy were shaking their heads in frustration. "She's going to get us killed one of these days." Cindy said.
Ais was looking at the girls with her mouth open.
I chuckled. "Sorry, it's a running joke. Iris is a bundle of energy and she's always excited to do things, even dangerous thinks. So, Cindy and Kimmy always say that; Iris is going to get us killed. They are just giving Iris a hard time." I tried to reassure Ais.
"Oh." Ais said as she looked back and forth between the girls.
"Let's head to Rivira and find the Golden Celler." I suggested.
"Yes." Ais said and started walking towards Rivira.
It took a while to find the tavern because it was along the wall of the cavern and fairly well hidden. My Team stayed outside so there wouldn't be a crowd of us going in. On entering the 'building' I saw that it was decent size. There were five tables along with a bar. All of the tables were full and at the end of the bar was the chienthrope, Lulune, from the time the plant monsters attacked Rivira, and the red head monster tamer fought Ais.
While Ais and Lulune chatted the dwarf bartender walked over to where we were standing.
"Whaddaya havin'?" He asked.
Ais turned to the dwarf. "Green tea-flavored jyaga Maru Kun." Ais told the bartender.
We heard a crash. Looking up from where she had fallen on the floor. "Y-you're our reinforcements?" Lulune asked Ais.
The chatter and clinking of tankards stopped as everyone in the room turned to look at Ais and myself.
"Are you sure it's her?" A woman asked.
"A-Asfi…" Lulune started.
"Hello Perseus. We are both here to help with your quest." I told Asfi.
Asfi looked shocked. "Both of you?" She asked.
I chuckled. "I invited myself when the Fool asked Ais to take the quest. Plus, my four Team members are outside waiting to help out as well." I informed Asfi.
"The fool?" Asfi asked.
I chuckled. "The person Lulune calls, Mister Black Robe." I replied.
Asfi nodded her head in understanding. "But why, did you call him, the Fool?"
"Because that's part of what he calls himself. Although I know who he is, it looks like he is trying to keep his identity a secret for now. So, I'm not going to give him away. For the time being, anyway." I told Asfi.
Asfi took charge and started giving direction on what needed to be done before we headed down to the 24th floor. In short order we were passing through the tunnel under the central tree that leads to the 19th floor.
Ais dropped Bells vambrace off with Bors, the leader or governor of Rivira, for safe keeping. She will pick it up when we come back through the 18th floor on our way to the surface.
My Team took up rear guard on the way down to the 24th floor, while Ais was the vanguard.
Ais did a good job of clearing out the monsters in front of us. So my Team didn't have a lot to do, but we did do some fighting as monsters came up from behind the party.
We finally arrived on the 24th floor. It's a strange floor because the floor is a huge cavern kind of like the 18th floor. But the pathways are raised up instead of walking on a path through the planta.
Asfi and Lulune were talking about where we needed to go. While Lulune was holding a map of the 24th floor so the two of them can both read it.
Lulune pointed off in one direction. "The pantry is that way." She told Asfi and the rest of us.
Ais walked over to Asfi and Lulune. "Just a minute. There's a pantry over this way." Ais informed the two.
Asfi looked at the map for a moment or two. "Yes, it looks like there is another pantry in that direction." Asfi agreed with Ais, pointing in the direction of the pantry Ais had indicated.
We started heading to the pantry with Asfi, Ais and myself in the vanguard.
It isn't an easy trip. The path often crosses other paths, although many times the path we are on is lower than the paths this one intersects with. Which means we have to climb up onto the crossing path and then drop back down to our original pathway.
I could make the trip easier by creating stone staircases up and over the higher paths. But I don't want to let Asfi and the Hermes Familia members that are with us, know many of the things I can do. No reason to give them information about me that they don't need to know.
"Asfi, I would suggest you take your glasses off." I told Asfi as we walked.
"I can't see well without my glasses." Asfi told me.
"I understand that. I used to need glasses to see as well." I told Asfi and healed her eyes.
"Uh! What happened!? Everything is blurry!" Asfi exclaimed.
I chuckled. "As I told you, take your glasses off." I told Asfi.
Asfi stopped walking and pulled her glasses off of her face. She looked around the cavern. "I-I can see without my glasses. Everything is crystal clear." Asfi said shocked and surprised. "H-how did you do that?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm able to heal anyone of any ailment or genetic disorder. So, correcting or healing eyesight is fairly simple." I informed Asfi. "Now you owe me one. I finished with a grin.
'Uh! Oh, ya. I guess I do." Asfi replied unsure of herself.
After we had been traveling for close to an hour, Ais walked out in front of the party. I looked back at my Team.
[Monsters.] I send to them as I walked up beside Ais.
Lulune walked towards Ais as well. "what ya say." Lulune called to Ais.
"Sshh!" Ais made a shushing sound. "Quiet." She added.
Lulune jumped. "Uuhhgg!" Was the only sound that came out of her mouth as she saw all of the monsters in a ravine.
My Team and I walked up beside Ais and Lulune and looked down at all of the monsters.
Asfi had walked up beside us by this time. She looked into the ravine for a moment then she called over her shoulder. "Get ready. We'll have to kill all of these monsters." Asfi started giving orders to her party.
"Wait! I've got this." Ais told Asfi.
"No, you don't Ais. I know why you need to fight the monsters, but you don't get to have all the fun." I told Ais with a chuckle.
Ais looked at me with a blank stare.
"You take care of those monsters." I said indicating an area I wanted Ais to fight the monsters. "And my Team and I will take care of all the monsters on this side." I told Ais.
Ais still giving me a blank look nodded her head in agreement.
"On the count of three." I said. "One… Two… Three!" I called out.
Ais jumped down into the ravine and started killing the monsters in the area I had indicated.
My Team jumped down into the ravine. I dropped down with my Team. We spread out to stay out of each other's way.
I summoned Sasori my naginata as I dropped to the ground. As I landed, I started cutting down any of the monsters that were within reach of Sasori, keeping an eye out for my Team members so I wouldn't hit any of them.
In no time, all the monsters were dead. Ais looked over at me and my Team with a confused and curious expression on her face.
I smiled at Ais. "That wasn't too bad." I said.
"That was fun." Cindy added.
"She's going to get us killed one of these days." Iris said using Cindy's usual accusation of Iris against Cindy.
"Heh heh heh." Kimmy giggled but said nothing.
I used my telekinesis to gather up all of the magic stones and drop items from the monsters we had killed. I then did the same thing for the monsters Ais had killed. I put our loot into my closet PD. Then I had Iris put Ais's loot into her closet PD to keep it separate.
"Ais, I hear that you just ranked up. Is that correct?" Asfi asked Ais.
"Yes." Ais replied.
"When a person ranks up, their mind and body become disoriented. You used this fight to get back into sink." Aski said to Ais.
"Yes." Ais replied.
Then Asfi turned to me and my Team. "I don't understand how you could fight monsters like that. All of your party moved like you are top tier adventurers, but I have never heard of you before today." Asfi stated.
"We've fought monsters many times before now." I told Asfi. "We need to keep moving." I suggested.
"Yes, we need to keep moving." Asfi agreed.
Everyone in the party jumped down into the ravine and started walking towards the pantry.
A few minutes later we arrived at the pantry. The entrance was covered in some kind of green plant.
"That's why the monsters were rampaging. They couldn't get to the pantry because it's blocked." Asfi said.
Asfi turned and looked at a Prum girl with purple hair, with purple robes and a pointed purple hat on her head. "Meryl, would you make us an opening?" Asfi asked although it sounded more like a command.
'I get the impression Meryl likes purple.' I thought and chuckled to myself.
Meryl started chanting and in short order the plant material at the pantry's entrance were destroyed. Leaving an opening for us to use to enter the pantry.
"It feels like we're walking through the belly of an animal." Lulune said.
"Don't say that. You're weirding me out." Falgar, a weretiger and co-captain of the Hermes Familia, replied.
Everywhere you looked was green plant like material. It covered the floor, walls and even the ceiling. That wasn't to bad, but it stinks like rotting meat.
We came to a three-way intersection. One way went to the right one way went up and the other straight ahead.
"Lulune, make a map." Asfi told Lulune.
"Got it." Lulune replied as she pulled paper and a red quill pen from her pouch.
"Try this." I told Lulune as I created an ink pen. I showed Lulune how to use the pen and handed it to her.
When I get the Hestia Familia store set up and running, we'll sell the basic ink pens for 200 valis each.
Ais watched Lulune making the map. "You're a cartographer." Ais stated.
"Lord Hermes has taken me all over, to ruins and cave so I could learn how me make maps." Lulune replied.
Asfi chose the route, and we all followed her.
As we were walking, Ais looked up. Asfi followed the direction Ais was looking.
"Battle formation!" Asfi called when she saw a large number of the man-eating plant monsters above us.
All of the Hermes Familia members spread out and equipped weapons and shields.
I looked over at Cindy. "Thirtsy Naʼashǫ́ʼiitsoh yázhí (Little Dragon)?" I asked Cindy.
Cindy gave me a confused look for a second or two, then her face broke out in a huge grin. "Ya, real thirsty." Cindy replied.
"Ah oh. They're really going to do it." Iris said and giggled.
By this time most of the plant monsters, violas, had dropped to the ground.
Cindy and I stepped forward. "Take your side." I said and raised my arms out in front of myself and made gathering motions with my hands. A moment later a huge ball of water formed in front of the battle party, while the violas turned brown and fell to the ground, turning into piles of ash and clouds of smoke.
Cindy was doing the same to the violas on her side of the hall. Shortly there were two large globs of water floating in the air and all of the violas were piles of ash.
I waved my hand and the water disappeared.
Lulune was staring at us with her mouth hanging open. Although Asfi was the one to speak first. "How did you do that? Is it magic?" She asked us.
I Looked over at Cindy for a moment and grinned. I turned back to Asfi. "Cindy and I are what is called "Water Benders". We can create and control water. Because of that, we can pull water out of anything that contains water and plants contain a lot of water." I explained.
"I've never heard of anything like that." Asfi stated.
I shrugged my shoulders. "No surprise. As far as I know, Cindy and I are the only Water Benders around." I told Asfi.
"I see. All right, we need to keep moving." Asfi told the group.
We walked on down the passage. It wasn't too long until we came to another fork in the tunnel.
"Which way?" Lulune asked Asfi.
"Monsters." Cindy stated.
"Where?" Asfi asked Cindy.
Cindy cocked her head for a moment. "Both tunnels in front of us." She told Asfi.
"I hear some coming up behind us." Ais added.
"Ais, you take the passage to the left." Asfi told Ais.
"Ok." Ais replied and walked down the tunnel a few feet.
"My Team will take the right tunnel." I told Asfi.
"Good." Asfi replied.
"Battle formation." Asfi told her battle party.
"Rosni stay in the back. Taima, Zala, Rosey, Waiola and Ushi, guard our back and protect Rosni. Cindy, Iris, Kimmy, with me." I gave my Team their orders as I headed a few yard down our tunnel.
I summoned Sasori and headed towards the violas, using Extended Range, I started slashing and cutting the violas in my path, killing them as I went.
Cindy used Doppelganger and used her telekinesis to create a chainsaw effect cutting down the violas in her path. While Iris and Kimmy were using their electrical Creation and Control to shoot lightning bolts at the violas, leaving the scent of ozone and charred violas in the air.
Shortly after the fight began, pillars formed a wall across the tunnel Ais had gone down. Blocking her off from the rest of us.
"Ais don't worry, you are strong enough!" I called out to Ais as I heard the first pillar fall.
"Sword Princess!" Lulune called.
"She's the Sword Princess. She can take care of herself." Asfi replied to Lulune's concern for Ais. "Let's keep going."
"More monsters from behind us." Someone from the Hermes Familia called.
"More in front as well." Iris replied.
"Scatter the magic stones." Asfi called to one of their supporters.
"No, wait." I called. "Girls take care of these guys." I told my Team, then I Blinked to the far side of the Hermes group.
Using Extended Range I went into my whirling Dervish attack mode, cutting down the violas before they could get close to the rest of the group.
I walked back to Asfi and the others.
"What level are you?!" Lulune asked with shock and surprise on her face and in her voice.
I chuckled. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." I replied, then I turned to Asfi. "Let's go. More violas are coming."
My Team took vanguard cutting down and killing more violas than we could count.
"Is that the light from the quarts? Is that the pantry?" Someone asked.
As we entered the pantry. We could see the red quarts pillar that provides the nutrients for the monsters. The pillar had three Viscum, flower monsters that create or give birth to violas, on it. The Viscum were eating as much of the nutrient liquid as the pillar could produce.
The walls and ceiling were covered in the plant material. On the far side of the chamber were several humans wearing masks and long robes.
A man in all white wearing a skull drop item as a mask was looking at all of us.
"How? What have you been doing?"
"The violas were not strong enough."
"Fill your role, Evilis remnants. Become her shield." The man in all white commanded the people around him.
"Let no intruder survive!" He exclaimed.
"This is getting tedious." I said out loud to myself.
"Hey, these guys aren't fooling around." Lulune said at the masked people drew weapons and headed towards us with murder in their eyes.
"Cindy pull out the water from the plants." I called to Cindy. "Iris, Kimmy, take guard." I called out orders to my Team. I didn't need to tall Rosni what to do, she knew to stay in the middle of the group and back us up when needed.
I did a quick scan of the area to see how many people were in the chamber. "Isolation." I called concentrating on the people with masks on. All of the masked people fell to the floor, unmoving.
Cindy moved to the side and waved her hands. Moments later a glob of water started forming in the air in the middle of the room as the plant material and flowers started turning brown and falling to the ground, dead.
I turned to the man in the skull mask and white robes. "This is the end, Olivas Act." I called.
"UH!" Asfi sucked in air. "That can't be! He's dead!"
"He almost died. A demi-spirit put a magic stone in his chest, and he became a hybrid, monster-human." I told Asfi.
"HA HA HA HA! She saved me! And now I live for her!" Olivas Act stated.
"And now you die because of her." I told Olivas as I reached out telekinetically and pulled the magic stone out of his chest.
"AAAHHHHGGGggg…" Olivas screamed as the magic stone was pulled out of his chest. Then he started to fall to the ground, but he turned to a cloud of ash and smoke before he hit the ground.
"How…!" Lulune exclaimed.
"Cindy, make sure you draw the water out of the viscum on the quarts pillar." I reminded Cindy.
"Working on it. There are a lot of plants in this room." Cindy called back. "It would go faster if you helped me." She added.
I turned to Asfi and Lulune. "Lulune, would you help Rosni and Iris collect the inferno stones the people passed out on the ground have strapped to them? They are meant to go off when they pull a cord so be careful with them." I asked Lulune.
Lulune looked at Asfi. Asfi nodded her head in agreement.
Lulune walked over to the closest Evilis member on the floor. Iris and Rosni followed Lulune. They all squatted down and started working on getting the inferno stones off the bodies.
I turned to the quarts pillar with the viscum curled around it. I reached my hand out and started drawing the water out of the first huge plant monster.
Bete, Lefiya and Filvis walked through one of the openings into the chamber.
"What's going on here?" Bete demanded.
"Not much now." I replied.
"Don't I know you…? Lefiya!?" Lulune called to Lefiya.
"Eh? Miss Lulune?!" Lefiya responded.
"Where is Ais? Is she here or not?" Bete demanded.
"She was separated from us!" Lulune replied.
There was a great explosion from the far side of the room.
A red-haired woman, Levis, flew through the room hitting the far wall sending up plumes of smoke and dust as she rolled down the wall to the floor.
"GGHHH!" Levis grunted in pain. She tossed what remained of the broken red sword she was holding.
"Haaaah… haaaah." Heaving and panting came from the whole Levis had just came through.
"Ais…!" Bet called.
"Ais!" I called to get her attention. "She's not human, she's a monster that just looks like a human. She has a magic stone in her chest." I told Ais and held up the magic stone I had pulled from Olivas Act's chest.
As I was telling Ais about Levis, I healed Ais.
Ais's breathing slowed and her eyes went wide in surprise as she felt her strength and stamina return.
"I healed you, Ais, and feel free to use Arial against her. Because she's a monster, she has self-healing." I told Ais. Then I gave Levis an evil grin. "Well, she used to have regeneration, but now it's not working anymore." I informed Ais as I Nullified Levis's regeneration ability.
Ais looked at me out of the corner of her eye. Making sure she kept watch on Levis. "Is that true? She's a monster?" Ais asked me.
I nodded my head up and down several times. "Yes, it is totally true. She is a monster with a magic stone in her chest." I assured Ais.
Before Ais could do anything. "Aria, go to floor 59." Levis said. "It should answer many questions."
"What does that mean?" Ais asked.
"You should have some idea. If the rumors about you are true, the blood in your vanes will tell you." Levis told Ais as she left the chamber.
"What rumors!?' Ais asked as Levis walked out of sight.
Ais stared at Levis's back with a confused expression on her face.
"Let's get out of here." Asfi said to the group.
Cindy and I pulled the water out of any viola's we ran into as we left the pantry as well as pulling the water out of the plant material that was growing all over the walls, floor and ceiling.
Ais, the Hermes Familia members and My Team made our way back to the 18th floor.
Before my Team left for the surface. "Asfi, I don't think I need to tell you, but I will anyway, just in case. Anything my Team and I did on this quest goes no farther than here. Hermes does not need to know anything about what we can do." I informed Asfi also making a bit of a warning as well.
"I understand, Eilwyn. I'll have a talk with everyone that came down with us." Asfi assured me.
"Thanks."
==========
Three days later Lulune along with Ais came looking for me. Lulune had three keys. She gave one to Ais and she handed me a key, keeping one for herself. "I believe they are for Gnome storage units." Lulune suggested.
All three of us found our way to the Eastern Ward to see if Lulune's theory was correct. The keys numbered 687, 688 and 689 opened vaults stuffed full of different colored gems, gold and silver rings, decorative unicorn horns as well as several grimoires.
All three of us just stood there staring at the contents of the vaults. There was no telling the total value of each vault, but with the grimoires and the unicorn horns. I would guess each vault contained no less than one billion valis worth of treasure, maybe even more. I would guess that would be a rough estimate of $7.5 million on my Earth and Monster Musume's Earth.
I put everything from the Gnome vault into my closet PD for safe keeping.
"If every quest the Fool gives me pays this much. I'll be taking as many as he can give me." I told Ais and Lulune.
"We wouldn't have made it out alive if it hadn't been for you and your battle party." Lulune replied.
"Yes, you and your battle party were amazing down there." Ais told me.
"Ya, how can you do all of those things you did down there?" Lulune asked.
I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders. "That's a long story, and a story I'm not sure even I fully understand myself." I told Lulune.
"Oh." Lulune said just above a whisper.
"I'm sure we'll see each other in the near future. So, both of you take care of yourselves." I told Lulune and Ais. Then I turned to Lulune. "And I would suggest you don't gamble all of your reward away." I suggested.
Lulune's ears want flat against her head, and she looked down at the ground. "Ya, I'll do that." She replied. "Well, I do have to share this with the rest of my Familia members that went to the 24th floor with me." She added.
I turned to Ais. "I guess you'll be able to pay off the loan for Maelstrom." I suggested.
Ais jumped a little. "Oh, yes. I can do that." Ais replied as she reached into her vault. She pulled out one of the grimoires and handed it to me.
"That's worth many times more than you owe me." I told Ais.
"It'll pay for Tiona's, Tione's and Lefiya's weapons as well." Ais offered.
"The grimoire is worth more than what all four of you owe me. Are you sure?" I asked.
"This much money scares me. I'm going to give most of it to my Familia for our next expedition anyway." Ais admitted.
I shrugged my shoulders. "If that's what you want. I'll take it. Make sure you tell Lefiya, Tiona and Tione their weapons have been paid for in full." I reminded Ais.
"I will, thank you." Ais replied.
I gave Lulune and Ais a small bow, turned and walked away. As I was walking away, I looked over my shoulder. "Ais, tell Loki, I'd like to talk to her, Finn, Riveria and Garith sometime soon."
"Oh, y-yes, I will." Ais replied a little confused as to why I would want to talk to the leaders of the Loki Familia.
