Couple turned a school bus into an exceptional home.

The put up several walls.

And made built-in furniture.

Looks like it has lots of good storage in the seats.

This is one of the walls. I have never seen a corner kitchen in a bus- they’re usually straight and very small. By doing this, they were able to fit in a stove w/an oven, sink, and upper cabinets. Love this idea.

Plus, look at all the counter space.

I don’t know why they raised the table, but it looks like fun.

This is cute.

And, look at the size of the shower and full size sink.

The toilet is in a separate space.

The bed looks like at least a queen size. Great job.

This is the first post on my first ever blog! I don't know what I'm doing yet, but I will be posting pictures and videos of my school bus conversion into my house!

I purchased my bus in March of 2017 for $4,200, and drove it for the first time from Granby Colorado to Santa Fe New Mexico! From there I drove it 1200 miles to Kankakee Illinois, where an old friend let me store the bus on his grandfather's storage lot. I kept it in Illinois for awhile while I started my project!

Meet Shane & Emily, who turned a school bus into a tiny home that doubles as a tour bus for their band Arbour Season. This was a big upgrade from the RV they lived in prior. But as DIYers with no experience, they struggled to get their bus conversion just right. Their 3rd time renovating was definitely the charm! A bit of flesh.

Many tears.

The things that I have given to have the life I see for myself.

Sacrifices. Offerings. Sacred things.

When I decided to purchase the bus I didn’t realize exactly how hard it would be. Not the building process, although that has come with its own challenges and impossible feats. No, it’s what I had to give up to prepare myself for the next chapter. The trauma I never released, the discomfort that comes with letting go of control, the ways in which I have had to face the parts of me that are terrified. The parts that terrify me. The parts fueled by anger, anger from the ways in which I have been hurt and have dealt with that pain by projecting it on to the world. On to the people I love.

Living in a bus comes with certain limitations.

One of those limitations is space and weight.

I can only keep what I need, what is essential.

I can’t take my trauma with me. There is no room for it in the life ahead.

I must find a beautiful place, dig a deep hole and bury it with a prayer of love and forgiveness.

I think a place along the lakeshore would be nice.

Just realized the revised version of this hasn't been posted to Instagram before. This is the long term project for a number of skills I'm working on acquiring. This is still pretty pie in the sky, but a loose plan for a bus conversion for Ange's and I's future #Skoolie. Yeah, that's a helical wind turbine on a mast up front for when we're parked for a bit. It would come down and off the nose when on the move, think we can make it fit in under floor storage bays. Might go for a shorter one and a trailer for studios for us? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a new skoolie and this one is so cute. What’s different about it, is that they left the outside looking like a school bus. Usually owners redo the exterior, too.

It looks like they upholstered the old seats for the table- good idea, they look comfortable.

Love the blue sink and how they saved space by making the counter L-shaped for the stovetop.

This is cozy.

The main bd. Usually you have climb in from the foot of the bed- this is so nice, b/c not only is there room on the side, but there’s storage underneath.
