Controversial Snowpiercer Opinion:

It would have been more meaningful to just have Commander Grey (1 person we know pretty well) somehow survive the 1x09 events than to pull a seemingly endless supply of jackboots out of thin air just so Wilford could appear to have some muscle backing his fight for the engine

Mmm disagree. We SAW Grey get left behind to die. There were probably some jackboots who survived so I find it makes more sense to have the jackboots appear. (Maybe just less of them would have been more believable?)

I'm doing a Snowpiercer rewatch. I just finished 1x09 and damn... Layton was forced to kill the people who helped him. The people who trusted him. His friends and family. He had to stand there, look them in the eyes as they were pleading for him to help them, and then he just had to flick the switch to their death sentence. I forgot just how many people we lost, good and bad, in episode 9. 🥲
