closed starter @ kismet harbor homeless shelter with @lilahelliott

On the first weekend of the month, Delphine always dedicated her time to charities in Kismet Harbor. Of course, it was nice to see how she and her money could make a difference in peoples' lives, but it was also nice to be able to retain her positive reputation in the town. Two birds one stone, right? This month, she had decided to help out at the soup kitchen in the homeless shelter, something she had never done before; she wasn't known for getting her hands dirty. Still, it was for a good cause.

Whilst she was tying her blonde hair into a ponytail, she noticed someone walking into the kitchen out of the corner of her eye. Turning her head, she froze, her hands still above her head with her hair tie as she spotted the ghost from her past. She was sure the look on her face gave away the fact she definitely wasn't expecting to see Lilah, but she did everything in her power to try and mask her surprise. "Looks like we're being paired up," she forced a smile, pretending to busy herself with the ingredients in front of her.

Even not having any powers of her own, people were a bit too intimidated by Lilah’s family to not accept her, so everyone seemed to circle around her, and when She was a teenager, Lilah had a mean girl fase, she’d look down on people who were not as rich or as powerful as her family was. This went on until She was around 22.One day, She was attacked by a vengeful witch who had a problem with her family,they left her half dead, she was found by another witch, one She used to looked down at and mock, this person saved her life, and after that Lilah began to realize people were a lot more than what they seem and they are a lot more than where they come from. Since then, She mend her ways, and tries to always give people the benefit of the doubt.Lilah works and a freelancer make up artist. Which was something She always loved to do.

Like father, like Daughter | Jo & Lilah

Delilah Connelly, now that was a girl just like her father. Unlike her brother, she had politics running in her veins, which is unfortunate because well, Michael was her father, which solidified her place in life as second within her own family. It was sad, but Jo had minimal sympathy. After all, in the 50s, the decade of her birth, women were treated far worse and considering she escaped a father who sold her off to the highest bidder (rather literally) she was of the mind that you were only as fucked as you let yourself be.

That said, she had to respect Lilah in some ways. The girl clearly had learnt the age-old strategy of using the hubris of men against them to succeed. Whether TJ’s dick and wallet were worth it remained to be seen but the polls were already chirping that the girl had made the wrong dice roll. And like a vulture circling the casino for a new mark, Jo could smell an opportunity. 

She arrived early on purpose at the country club restaurant a little out of DC. Like everything, it served a purpose - she had no doubt that Lilah’s father took her to similar spots if not this very place. She was surprisingly donning in casual wear, well her version, a simple long dress with a splash of colour and a loose pearl necklace. Her sunglasses pressed against her nose, hiding her eagle eyes as she sat out in the outer area smiling as she spotted the youngster.

Time to spring the lure. Jo thought to herself before getting up and making the surprising move to step over to the girl and offer her a somewhat cordial hug. The senator had after all known her from a young age. “Gosh, you’re looking so...grown.” 

“I couldn’t quite believe my eyes when I saw you on tv dear, but I can see it’s all quite real. Thanks for coming and indulging an old lady.”

Shopping Adventures || Hazel and Lilah

Hazel was exited that she got to go to Beaumont, and even more excited that she got to see Lilah again. Lilah was her best friend from fourth grade to eighth grade. Hazel moved with her family before Lilah and her got to high school. She was sad when she had to leave, she didn't have the best time at her new school. She got bullied and used many times. Currently Hazel and Lilah were in Lilah's car on the way to the clothes stores nearby because Lilah needed new clothes for something and Hazel just wanted to get some new stuff as well.

First Encounters | Owen and Lilah

Walking, Owen headed towards the address Lilah had gave him. It was a miserable day, and his grey jacket was slowly fading to black with rain water. The building he was heading towards was a sky scraper, and he could see it inching closer every time he stepped forward.Glass offices were assembled on top of each other, reaching towards the sky and reflecting it's light. Rain flowed down the windows, racing towards the dull grey pavement, where they would be intercepted by Owen's shoulders. As he reached the entrance, he decided that it was probably best to take off his dripping jacket, rather than leaving puddles everywhere. He carried it in his hand, and headed towards the elevator at the other side of the room.

The metal doors closed; Owen pushed the button for his level and moved to the back of the elevator. In the cage with him was a woman, who he assumed was a lawyer, like Lilah. The first thing he noticed was her black heels, that would no doubt make an awful sound when she walked- Owen shuddered, why did women feel the need to make such a piercing noise when they moved? Secondly, how did they walk in them? The doors opened before he had a chance to think about it; he stepped out and followed the signs to the Lilah's office- and knocked on the door. "Hello?"

Your opinion on Lilah's parenting?

My first thought was shit but actually thinking about it she’s not absolutely awful. Yes, she has some questionable parenting decisions (turning a blind eye to LJ & Eric) but she genuinely loves and cares for LJ and wants the best for her. The fact her final moments on the show are her thinking about LJ prove that.

She’s not a good mother by any stretch of the imagination but she’s also not bad. She tries to do what she thinks is best for LJ which doesn’t always work but her heart’s in the right place.
