Tumblr media
A Global Stage for Mexico's Achievements
Showcasing Progress at the XXXV Meeting of Embassies and Consulates At the prestigious XXXV Meeting of Embassies and Consulates (REC 2024), a significant event unfolded as Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, the Secretary of Foreign Relations, welcomed key secretaries to discuss Mexico's socio-economic achievements. This gathering brought together Rogelio Ramírez de la O, Secretary of Finance and Public Credit; Marath Baruch Bolaños López, Secretary of Labor and Social Security; and María del Rocío García Pérez, Undersecretary of Welfare. Their discussions centered on the country's advances, underlining the government's concrete successes in economic, social, and labor policy.
Economic Development and Social Justice
Stabilizing Debt and Boosting Economic Growth Rogelio Ramírez de la O elaborated on Mexico's economic policy, emphasizing the government's focus on economic development, social justice, and reducing inequalities. He highlighted the stable trajectory of the country's debt, underpinned by robust internal consumption and social stability. These achievements, stemming from solid social programs and infrastructure development, especially in previously marginalized regions, have played a pivotal role in the country's economic ascension.
Foreign Investment and Social Stability
Increasing Purchasing Power and Attracting Investments Ramírez de la O further noted the surge in foreign direct investment, attributing it to global market confidence in Mexico's agenda to increase the population's purchasing power and ensure social stability. This influx of investment underscores the country's growing economic strength and the effectiveness of its socio-economic policies.
Labor Policy Revolution
Revolutionizing the Workplace and Promoting Social Justice Secretary Marath Bolaños López discussed the transformative labor policies that have revolutionized Mexico's work environment. Importantly, these policies concentrate on strengthening labor rights, improving workers' quality of life, and fostering democratic dialogue between workers and employers. Consequently, this approach has led to significant advancements, including the elimination of subcontracting, the constitutional right to Profit Distribution, and the achievement of a historical maximum in formal jobs with 22 million records in the IMSS.
Social Development and Well-Being
From Welfare to Well-Being: A New Social Vision Undersecretary María del Rocío García, representing the Secretary of Welfare, underscored the government's shift from a traditional welfare model to a well-being approach. This innovative model focuses on the exercise of rights, social inclusion, and sustainable development, free from exclusion. Additionally, the fight against corruption has been instrumental in this transition, enabling the direct allocation of resources to the most vulnerable populations and playing a crucial role in reversing inequalities.
Future Outlook and International Recognition
Mexico's Commitment to Continued Growth and Development The presentations at the XXXV Meeting of Embassies and Consulates reflect Mexico's commitment to continuing its path of socio-economic development. These achievements not only bolster national pride but also position Mexico as a leading example of progressive policies in the global arena.   Sources: THX News & The Government of Mexico.
