wouldn't it have been nice if instead of Nightheart constantly thinking "my family was mean to me before but NOW I'm getting the respect I DESERVE" he was like "gee I was insecure and making up how I thought others perceived me and I dealt with it by being an asshole, I was wrong to do that" OR he was utilized as some sort of antagonist because of how entitled and concerned with reputation he continues to be?

oh heres a series of WIPs of my most recent Mothwing piece if you're interested!

rough layout -> rough sketch

clean sketch + basic colours and shading

underpainting, a stage where I paint on one layer under the lines to define my shading without having to worry about changing too much of the composition yet -> overpainting, the stage where I paint over the sketch lines so things look lineless, I'll also sometimes change more major details here like I did with the rocks on the bottom left

and to the final illustration - where I add some smaller details, such as re-adding the lil water shines and realizing the rocks should have reflections as well, this stage also always includes fiddling around with some colour and contrast and RGB shift stuff!

honestly I'm surprised Mothwing isn't drawn with a luna moth more often, like other than it just being a nice contrast to the colours her pelt is described and usually drawn with, luna meaning moon could tie it symbolically even more to the moonstone/pool and therefore her faith in StarClan

I love how nonsense proshippers sound when they try to say that if you disagree with them you're not "adult enough" as if the only side that thinks they're freaks are those ppl who think that everything a piece of media depicts is something it endorses and everything has to have a happy ending ect..., and not also just, normal ass people who understand how the way certain subjects are framed can be very important, and that maybe you should be ridiculed if you explicity frame, or like to consistently read things that frames something awful in a good light, especially when those things are never used for anything deeper than shipping fictional characters
