It was a stupid thing, really. Kelvin felt stupid. He had seen a crate of supplies sitting along the edge of a cliff, and he got excited. It wasn't too far from their camp, so he thought it was an easy enough task to simply pick it up and haul it over. The only problem was, as soon as he lifted the container, a wave of dizziness hit him, and his foot slipped off the edge of the cliff, sending him falling off the side.
He landed hard on his left shoulder, sending a shooting pain through his arm and chest. He let out a cry and rolled onto his back. Looking up at the top of the cliff, it wasn't a long drop, but he was pretty sure his shoulder was now dislocated.
He sat there for a bit, letting himself catch his breath before rolling onto his right side and pushing himself up. The movement sent spikes of pain as he did. He looked down at his arm, now dangling uselessly by his side. With gritted teeth, he made his way back to the camp, trying desperately to bite back any sounds of pain.
He looked around for any sign of Tim before peeking into the cabin. Tim was still gone. Kelvin pushed open the door and went inside. He didn't want anyone or anything to see him.
Moving to the far wall, he braced his arm against it and used a shelf as leverage before he shoved as hard as he could, feeling the pop as the shoulder was forced back into place. He gasped and fell to his knees, clutching at his arm as pain continued to radiate from it.
Tim was going to be mad if he found out what happened. He lightly touched his shoulder and immediately jerked his hand back with a hiss of pain. How was he going to hide this? He gingerly lifted his arm with gritted teeth and slipped it into the pocket of his hoodie. It felt a little better now that it was resting and not dangling anymore. He laid down on the bed and quickly passed out, the ordeal having exhausted him.
The next day, Tim noticed that Kelvin was favoring his left arm, never taking it out of the pocket of his hoodie. He frowned, but he wasn't sure if he should push it. Kelvin was keeping it to himself on purpose.
It wasn't until Tim saw Kelvin sway and fall into the wall of the cabin, his left shoulder taking the hit as he did so. He let out a strangled gasp and gripped his arm tightly. Tim wasn't going to leave it alone anymore. This was more serious than he had thought.
"What's wrong with your arm?" Tim asked.
Kelvin hesitated before answering. "There was a cliff..."
Kelvin didn't get to finish before Tim's eyes widened. "Is your arm broken?"
Kelvin shook his head quickly before miming writing something, and Tim handed off his notepad to him. He carefully wrote out 'dislocated' before handing it back to him.
Tim frowned and looked at him. "Why did you hide this from me?"
Looking guilty, Kelvin looked down as he responded. "I was afraid you would be mad at me."
Tim blinked. Why would he think that? Kelvin was an adult, not a child to be scolded. Tim moved forward and cupped his chin, lifting his head up. "Why would I be mad? You're hurt, and I care if you get hurt."
"For leaving the camp and not staying safe."
He couldn't help but let out a laugh. "You're an adult. Yes, I want you to stay safe, but I can't tell you what to do."
Kelvin looked at him, uncertain, but Tim was already digging through his pack, pulling out a piece of cloth. He motioned to Kelvin's injured arm and began carefully tying it into a sling so his arm could rest and heal better.
"Please don't hide things like this. I want to help."
Kelvin nodded, and Tim gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Tim immediately tries to find better clothes for Virginia after seeing her soaking wet and shivering from the constant rainfall and also hoodie for Kelvin along the way (he wants him to feel included) Tim got Virginia the camouflage clothes.
Sometimes Tim and Kelvin also swap the hoodie with each other depending who's sleeping and who's having guard duty at night with Virginia if she's not exhausted or elsewhere. Every comfort they can have is worth sharing with each other.

Headcanon that Tim is Mute, either selectively from the trauma he experienced or completely because of the obvious head trauma he had from the crash/the artifact.
Eric learned sign language so Tim wouldn't have to write everything down.
Tim and Eric teach Kelvin sign language too.

I saw a post of someone talking about how Kelvin mutters/mumbles in his sleep and they through a mutant got into the camp. I thought a cute prompt would be Tim waking up and just hearing Kelvin mumble in his sleep since he doesn’t hear Kelvin speak
Tim sat quietly, flipping through the emails and notes he found in the abandoned facility and using the light of the fire to read them. There had to be a connection to all of this. He sighed and rubbed his forehead, setting the papers aside.
"What were they doing in there?" Tim asked no one in particular. He sat back against the chair and looked up at the dark sky, smiling ever so slightly as he heard Kelvin snoring softly.
He laid down next to him and curled close, draping his arm over the other. He let the sounds around him lull him to sleep.
A noise and a shift. Tim's eyes flew open as he looked around, trying to figure out what just woke him up. Murmuring reached his ears, and his hand slowly reached for the hatchet, his fingers wrapping around the handle.
"No..."
Tim stopped and blinked. That voice. It was Kelvin's voice, but it sounded different. Like he forgot how to say the word properly. Tim released the hatchet and moved over to Kelvin to listen.
Kelvin continued to mumble unintelligible sounds before turning over to face Tim and snuggle further under the covers, his face scrunched. Gently, Tim reached out to brush his hand through Kelvin's hair, and slowly, the pinched expression loosened to a more relaxed one.
Tim leaned down close and whispered quietly, "I love you, Kelvin. Even if you can't hear me say it."
Kelvin shivered and pressed closer to Tim, a small smile on his face.

This one is a longer one. And it gets a little bit spicy.
Tim looked at Kelvin working away. His hoodie was off, and Tim swallowed thickly as he watched Kelvin swing the axe, watching his muscles flex. He blinked and shook his head, turning back to try and focus back on what he had been working on, but his mind kept drifting to Kelvin.
Licking his lips, he tried desperately to stop, but his mind kept showing him images of Kelvin laying on the bed, spread...
His mind came to a screeching halt when Kelvin stepped into his field of view, looking at him with concern. Tim's face turned bright red, and he cleared his throat. He was never going to get that courage. Kelvin had been seeing a girl back home, and he was probably desperate to get back to her. Here he was, fantasizing about fucking his best friend.
Kelvin signed, "Are you okay? It's pretty hot out, do you need water?"
Tim shook his head and replied, "I think I'm going to take a break. You should do the same."
Kelvin gave him a lopsided smile and nodded before going to rest by the forest pit, laying down in the grass. Tim sighed and watched him for a moment before running a hand through his hair. He couldn't keep this up.
A week passed, and Kelvin came up to him, a bit timid in his approach. Tim looked up from chopping wood and looked him over.
"Something wrong?" Tim asked.
"Did I do something wrong?"
Tim frowned at the question. "No, why would you ask that?"
"You..." Kelvin stopped for a moment, shifting on his feet. "You don't touch my hands anymore."
Tim blinked, his mouth falling open in surprise. He wasn't sure how to respond. "I don't know, didn't seem like I should. It looked like it made you uncomfortable."
He wasn't sure if that was true. Kelvin never told him to stop and didn't seem outwardly upset by it.
That answer didn't seem to be the right one as Kelvin dropped his shoulders, and he signed "okay" before walking away.
It was a few weeks later when Kelvin finally kissed him. Something short circuited in Tim's brain and he wished he could hold onto Kelvin forever. But of course, the insecurities crept back in.
Kelvin probably just did it to satisfy him. He didn't mean anything by it. What about that girl back home?
Once, Kelvin grabbed his arm as he was walking in the door to the cabin and shoved him against the wall before pressing his body close and nipping at his lower lip. Tim gasped at the suddenness but made no move, unsure of the situation. Kelvin pressed his lips against his, and only then did Tim respond, pulling Kelvin closer to deepen the kiss.
The kiss didn't last nearly long enough, and before he knew it, Kelvin was pulling away with a smirk and a quick gland down at the prominent tent in Tim's pants. Tim's face was flushed red, and he immediately tried to hide his shame.
The next time Tim was reading through the notes he had found, sitting in a chair by the fire. Suddenly, Kelvin was moving into his lap, making himself the only thing Tim could focus on. He straddled his lap and began kissing at Tim's neck, feeling the pulse point there pick up as he continued. He moved his hips and relished at the feeling of the other's breath hitching and the vibrations of the groan that followed.
He moved his onslaught to Tim's mouth, loving the way Tim's eyes fluttered and his eyes rolled back. He stopped after a few minutes and pulled away, looking in satisfaction at Tim's now messy hair. He looked both hurt and confused at the same time, his hands firmly gripping onto the edges of the chair. His chest was still heaving. If Kelvin wanted to play the teasing game, he could, too.
No, he couldn't. Who the fuck was he kidding? He spent all night thinking about that kiss and the teasing.
The next kiss was gentle and loving, without the heat of passion. Kelvin had been worried. He hadn't seen Tim in a couple of days, and he was about to go on another rescue mission when Tim suddenly stepped out of the trees looking exhausted. Kelvin ran into his arms and pulled him in for a kiss, his hands wrapped around the back of his neck to keep him close.
Tim was expecting teasing again, but Kelvin pulled away, concern shining in his eyes.
"You were gone longer than usual."
"Had to take the long way. Cannibals were everywhere. I'm sorry."
Kelvin shook his head. "I'm just glad you're safe."
Tim smiled and hesitated as he leaned down to give Kelvin another kiss. Kelvin smiled fondly and closed the distance.
"Does this mean you'll stop teasing me?" Tim asked once they pulled away again.
Kelvin smiled, a playful look in his eyes. "And miss seeing you all worked up and flustered? Never."
Tim doesn't think he'd trade that for the world.

Hi! I'm still new to these kinds of stuff, but I really like reading your blogs!
I have a sotf prompt for you:
After getting rescued, Tim, Kelvin, and Virginia needed to recover. Virginia is sent to rest privately since 1) she's probably the last living Puffton, and 2) she's mutated. Tim and Kelvin on the other hand will be recovering in some sort of a military hospital.
Tim gets to leave first, but Kelvin must stay a bit longer. I imagine him visiting Kelvin occasionally with flowers or gifts and maybe even staying by his side for hours until he is asked to leave.
Tim opened the door to Kelvin's room and stepped inside. It had been almost two weeks since they had been rescued from the island, and while Tim only needed a few days of recovery, he still went to therapy. Kelvin was in worse shape than he was, physically. Because they had no way of getting his ears looked at, Kelvin had ended up with pretty severe ear infections. Tim figured that's why he had been dizzy and disoriented quite a bit.
Kelvin looked up and smiled when he saw him walk in, immediately signing, "You just can't stay away."
Tim smirked. "Not when it involves you. How are you doing?"
Kelvin shrugged and motioned for something to write with. Tim patted himself down and ended up pulling the notepad he had with him on the island, a weird pang going through him. He grabbed a pen from a nearby desk. Some of the things the doctor had told him he didn't know the signs for, so he often asked for a pen and paper.
Kelvin began writing as quickly as he could. It took a bit, but he finally showed Tim. "I'm feeling better. The ear infection is clearing up. The doctor said I might be able to hear again, but because of how long the infection had been, I would most likely need hearing aids."
Tim smiled and signed. "You'll be able to hear again?"
Kelvin smiled back and nodded. Tim leaned over and wrapped his arms around him in a hug.
When they pulled away, Kelvin asked, "How is Virginia?"
"Well, she inherited her family's fortune and is in therapy. She'll probably remain closed off because of..." Tim trailed off and frowned before trying to smile again. "She won't be alone. I've visited her quite a bit."
Kelvin smiled sadly before grabbing Tim's hand. "She's got us still, right?"
Tim smiled and nodded.
Another week went by with Tim visiting almost every day, and when he walked in next, the door squeaked as he opened it, and Kelvin went from looking out the window to turning his head at the noise. It caught Tim off guard, and he faltered as he stepped through the door. He hesitated for a moment, noticing the small devices sitting in Kelvin's ears.
He decided to go for it and spoke, "Can... you hear me?"
The biggest grin spread across Kelvin's face as he nodded. "Yeah."
His voice still sounded odd and unused. Not hearing your own voice for so long would probably do that, but he could relearn. Tim moved over and set down the flowers he had been carrying before gently cupping the side of his face.
"We can do this together."
Kelvin nodded and felt himself tear up, leaning into his hand.

I’ve always been a sucker for the fluffy “character A listens to character B’s heartbeat to either calm down or be lulled to sleep” trope, something about it is just so cute idk😭 anyways, I wanna see how you would interpret this with Tim and kelvin, I think it would work really well with their situation. Maybe kelvin calming Tim down after a panic attack or vice versa? Idk I’m just in a fluffy mood 😭
Ps: love your content!
Blood was rushing through his ears, his eyes distant as he stared unseeing at the corpses of the cannibals lying on the ground in front of him. One of them had run over to the first one he had killed, and she just cried over the body of her killed loved one. Tim had shown no mercy, cutting her down immediately after. Now came the guilt, heavy and suffocating.
He wheezed and stepped backward, a trembling hand coming up to grip his hair. She hadn't shown him any aggression, and he just killed her in cold blood. His breath quickened, and his chest tightened, the combination causing a deep ache and making it hard to breathe.
He took another step backward, and a dizzying wave rolled over him, causing him to stumble to the ground. The hatchet fell from his grasp as he hit the ground, another panicked wheeze escaping his lungs as he tried desperately to inhale through the pin hole in his throat.
Hands were suddenly on him, and he panicked, thrashing hard to get away from his would-be attacker, but the hands only held on tighter. A face came into view, and he saw Kelvin, his hands cupping Tim's face as he tried to get him to focus. Tears blurred his eyes as he stared at Kelvin, realizing he was safe. So why could he not breathe?
He wheezed again and clenched his eyes shut, a choking sob leaving his mouth. Kelvin grabbed the back of Tim's head and pulled him close, pressing his ear against his chest. Tim's breath hitched, and his eyes opened again, listening to the steady beat of Kelvin's heart. His hands gripped weakly to Kelvin's hoodie, desperate to keep him close.
Kelvin just let him sit there as he rubbed his back and pressed soft kisses to the top of his head.

Fuck, just started thinking about how Kelvin would just start turning his head at every little sound. Or start crying while Tim whispers sweet nothings to him, and he can actually hear them now.

Tim noticed the silence. It used to never be so quiet with Kelvin around. He always had something to say, and Tim found himself missing it. Kelvin would talk his ear off about some project he was working on or tell him about the latest music video that he had become obsessed with. Now it was quiet.
Sure, Kelvin would make a random noise every now and then, but the silence was deafening, and he could only imagine how painful it was for Kelvin. He was definitely more withdrawn than he had been. It always seemed like a shadow was constantly hanging over his deaf friend.
Kelvin, of course, dutifully followed him and helped where he could, but he never seemed completely there anymore. Losing a sense like that, when it was such an integral part of one's personality and being, had to cause a severe depression.
Tim wasn't sure when it happened, probably after the first month, he began falling in love with his squad mate. Kelvin would make random noises that almost sounded like words but were off enough that he couldn't be sure, and he found it absolutely endearing.
Around the two month mark, Kelvin broke down and began sobbing uncontrollably, clinging onto Tim and sounding like he was trying to apologize. Tim's chest clenched painfully, realizing how useless Kelvin must feel.
So he began leaving notes next to him when he would leave the camp, giving him reassuring words. When he would come back from his scouting, he would give him light touches on his hands or knees.
At the start of month three, Tim grew bold and began brushing his hand along Kelvin's neck, watching with a bit of satisfaction as Kelvin began to blush. He was working up to try and kiss him, but Kelvin beat him to it when he quite nearly bodied him as he went in for a kiss after a cannibal attack that left them both high on adrenaline. Tim couldn't have been happier, as he had been failing at finding the courage to just go for it.
Since that moment, Kelvin had been happier. Not exactly back to his former self, but it was still better. He smiled more and often sought Tim out just so they could hold hands and cuddle. It made Tim's stomach fill with butterflies every time.
