Policía captura a 19 pandilleros en Soyapango, Ilopango y San Martín en las últimas 24 horas

Los capturados serán procesados por los delitos de organizaciones terroristas, agrupaciones ilícitas, entre otros.

La Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) informó que en las últimas 24 horas se capturó a 19 terroristas que delinquían en Soyapango, Ilopango y San Martín, entre ellos: Carlos Eduardo González, alias Baby, palabrero de la pandilla; Ronald Ernesto Martínez Mendoza, alias Demente, gatillero de la estructura criminal.

Los capturados serán procesados por los delitos de organizaciones terroristas, agrupaciones ilícitas, entre otros.

De acuerdo con la PNC, el pasado 30 de mayo El Salvador no registró homicidios, un logro atribuido al Plan Control Territorial (PCT) y al régimen de excepción.

Hasta la fecha, son más de 30, 000 pandilleros los capturados entre la policía y la Fuerza Armada, luego de realizar varios operativos a escala nacional.

Cabe mencionar que las autoridades reportan que, también gracias a las medidas a aplicadas con el PCT y a la batalla contra las pandillas, durante el régimen de excepción, mayo se perfila como el mes más seguro de la historia y lo respaldan las estadísticas oficiales con cifras históricas.

A woman who has lived in the neighborhood since 1994 and who remembers how it went from being a quiet community to being labeled red, feels better, but her peace of mind is affected by her son, who is young. She is afraid that the police or soldiers can wrongly arrest him. "I tell my son to get a background check so they can see that he is an honest person," explained the woman.

The same situation is faced by a mother from the Las Margaritas neighborhood in Soyapango. She, like the rest of the population, agrees with the war against the gangs, but not with the blows that six soldiers inflicted on her son because he was wearing checkered boxers.

The 23-year-old, who works with his father, was on his way to do some errands when he was intercepted by soldiers. They questioned him and searched him without finding anything illegal, but his crime was a checkered boxer. “Sometimes it scares me because the authorities are not right, they are grabbing the first one that appears. My son was beaten for pure pleasure just because he was wearing checkered boxers", explained the woman.
