HOSAB SPOILERS / rant
Spoilers ahead!!!
Oh my god. Pls for the love of god CHILL TF OUT ABOUT ELRIEL VS. GWYNRIEL. Y’all have made this whole ass lovely book about 3 characters, two of which DID NOT PHYSICALLY APPEAR IN THE BOOK. It’s completely experience ruining. Like why do y’all have to be so fucking rude to each other? I am more of a Gwynriel but it’s my personal preference, I liked Elriel too before ACOSF. (I honestly lean more towards the Elain / villain plot because I love female villains and how fun would that be???) But if you ship Elriel like hell yeah! I can get onboard with that too! Just gotta see where CC3 or ACOTAR5 takes us. I’m here for the ride.
Anyways. SJM blessed us with a book full of beautiful relationships of all types: romantic, familial, friendship and found family and all you can focus on is this petty bullshit. And a compelling plot that ultimately tied together the 3 SJM series we love so dearly. Stop making it all about who Azriel ends up with.
(But for real guys… the fact that the townhouse smells like bread and roses means nothing for Elriel. It just means Elain was at the house. We have no other indication that they live together, and if they do, no indication of it being romantic. There is so much we don’t know about T/T and Gwydion, you cannot base anything off of that. Let’s just not jump to foregone conclusions.)
Just like ACOSF, these ship wars polluted the book tag & dampened the experience for me.
Additionally, if you don’t like the sjmcu. Don’t read it. It’s simple. I think the crossover is nice, I think we’ll see TOG as well. I’m excited for how these are all linking. Let’s just have fun, and be kind to one another.
