If you’ve been wanting to join in on all the #SWAPHappyCampersClub but you missed the last sign up, now’s your chance! What is the Happy Campers Club? We’re a group of writers with regular virtual meetings to keep each other accountable, keep each other writing and laughing and feeling supported all the way through. -Monday Zoom calls are for goal setting and accountability -Tuesday is WRITE-IN day where I host four 1hr zoom write ins and leave the room open for the rest of the day if anyone else wants to hop in -Wednesdays are all about our Coffee Hour meetings, just a 1hr zoom call to catch up and chat about whatever we need to each week -Thursdays are ever-changing in Camp and since many campers (including me) will be participating in #campnanowrimo this July, we will be adding more group writing time on Thursdays! -Friday is #writingprompt party day. We have a zoom call where I share a prompt, we all write on it, and then read aloud to the group! It’s going down every week in July and at least two weeks in August! Don’t you just love the joy that springs from a new idea? It was #writein day over in #SWAPHappyCampersClub and through the four 1-hr write-ins during the day I had been poking and poking away at different little projects that have been simmering way too long on the back burner 🔥. The biggest didn’t come up to stir until the last two write-ins and in the last one 🤯🤩 my brain exploded with a brand new way of thinking about it and working through it, and I love it 😍! I am a girl that loves to write first drafts “with the door closed” as Stephen King says in his book ON WRITING ✍🏻, so, to keep the fire burning on this one I’ll have to leave any details out, but I just want to say a big ol’ thank you to the writers who keep showing up in #stopwritingalone #swap52club #SIWriters, and, of course, those glorious Happy Campers spending the month with me. When I got this feedback from some of the April members of #swaphappycampersclub I was overwhelmed. I wasn’t dreaming... the month was as empowering for others as it was for me! This is truly what it means to stop writing alone. I can’t wait for the #writingcommunity to get back together this June! I told myself I wouldn’t do this this week. I told myself I would have my podcast ready to go long before midnight. But here I am still editing at 1 AM. You know what? It’s cool. For the last two Fridays the #SWAPHappyCampersClub have had a special edition Fun & Writing Games live Zoom call with @storymatic creator Brian Mooney! What a great experience going through the Classic Storymatic game and Synapsis with this amazing group of writers! Brian’s dedication to the creative process and sitting within the joy of story has been such a great fit in our little crew of creatives! The stories, characters and settings swirling in my head from these games are so rich, I can’t wait to play them out on the page! With my first #virtualwritein at 7am, and the last ending at 7pm, I started out yawning and ended off feeling invigorated. Even with the hustle and bustle of juggling my son’s schoolwork and making sure everyone in the house was fed, I still end up feeling lighter at the end of #writein days.
