how are you liking platinum so far?

It's been great! One or two gripes with the HMs but that's a very well trodden issue with older pokemon games so it's not that big of a deal.

My main thing that I'm enjoying is how easy it is to keep up with levels, at least as far in as I am (which, to be fair, is not very far). I'm one of those people who cannot stand grinding for exp, and that meant that when I was playing W2 (still a brilliant game dont get me wrong) I would hit every gym five levels under levelled at minimum. Which I could deal with but it did make it far harder than it really should've been. But in Platinum I've been around the right level just off the backs of the route trainers and gym trainers (plus whatever team galactic stuff is going on) and it's been great!

Speaking of team Galactic, I love the way all of them are written. Every grunt is fucking hilarious, and everyone's constant distaste and disregard of them and their weird outfits is just. Its perfect. I even like the commanders, who are deliberatley written to be pricks. You have to be a prick to go along with Cyrus' insane plan while not being Cyrus yannow? Speaking of, I love the difference in the way Cyrus is written compared to the rest of his evil team. The contrast is huge and shows the very fundamental difference in both motivation and understanding of what they're trying to achieve, since most of the grunts seem to think its just a simple taking over the world type deal. And like. I dunno. Compared to Jupiter and Mars its an interesting arrangement for the evil team boss to just be so much more polite, even if he is trying to end the world. It's a very compelling arrangement. Especially coming off the back of W and W2 where ghetsis is. Ghetsis. And while i think Ghetsis is a fantastic villian, its fun to see it done in the complete opposite way.

Also I love Barry. hes great. even if he spams stat changing moves something dreadful
