I'd love to know how you honour the Sabbath and keep it holy if you do observe it, if you have certain family/community practices or traditions, what denomination you're a part of and how that affects/forms your Sabbath-keeping, how and when you started observing the Sabbath, and what hopes/goals/thoughts you might have, if you don't observe and want to/don't observe regularly/don't observe in a way that is restful!

#saturdays for me sundays for the rest of my family! (i am the only anglican in a house of non denom Baptist-adjacent evangelicals) #the baseline is no work (work work or schoolwork) on saturdays for me! and i've been trying to figure out what is truly restful #instead of what is enjoyable but secretly productive which i can shoehorn in as a 'restful' activity #i spend time with my family on most saturdays! and don't have any particular church community practices yet #(since i'm now at a new church) #i'm an anglican and started intentionally observing sabbath in high school because i had a chat with one of the teachers #who was listening to my friend complain about not having the time to observe the sabbath and who said very placidly: #we make time for the things that are most important to us. and i was like miss you're so right i didn't think of it that way! #for the future i'd like to not be so focused on Doing Things xD i think i do a lot of Productive Things on saturdays #which i relabel as 'not work' because they're not technically schoolwork. but i've found that the days where i've #completely put away social media and screens and taken the time to enjoy creation and read my Bible and spend time with people #and take the time to just be still have been the most deeply restful and growing times #anyway i'd LOVE to hear your thoughts and stories!! #songbird again #faith&history&etc
