Cis allies are obsessed with the whole "no you were always a girl/boy" thing when it comes to trans people because of the comfort it gives them that gender isn't mutable or fluid.

They've adjusted the rules of gender to allow for "some people are born this way, and some are born this way" but they are still terrified of the idea that your experience of gender can change, or even worse, be something outside of the gender binary.

Everyone who is a girl, trans or cis, has to have always been that, because if someone can have been a boy, have fully identified with that, have spent time as that, and then changed, that means it could happen to anyone. And it also means that there might be in-between points, or external points for your identity to exist in, and that can't happen, cause that would destroy the whole concept of gender.
