Tumblr has been the most invertebrate friendly place I've been posting my videos so maybe y'all can help me out. I'm in NY -- Long Island, specifically. My Vivarium is all soil and inverts taken locally. A lot of them just randomly pop up in the soil as little hitchhikers (Only the Isopods, spiders and Springtails are intentional) which I know is a risk but it's also part of the fun. One of the coolest things to pop up is this TINY MILLIPEDE???
At first I was like "Could this be a giant american millipede baby??" but it seems too long for that so I think it's some kind of julida millipede but if anyone has any idea or a better id, hit me up in the replies! I swear the thing was sewing needle thin. I might have mistaken it for some kind of worm if I wasn't looking through my camera.
Tiniest baby isopod I've seen. I'm not even sure if it should be out of it's mom's.... sack... thing yet. But oh GOSH is it small and oh gosh could my awful shitty 10 dollar USB microscope get in close.
Usually wen I see a white thing this small I assume its a springtail or a mite but here you can actually see it be SO SMALL and then ALSO see a mite crawling on i t.
Crazy feeding around the Feeding Hole. Two species of Isopods, so many springtails, millipedes, harvestmen, and even little Rove Beetles, the absolute goons of the vivarium.
Didn't get it on video but me and my friends were watching the Pods and this homie repelled down on that piece of clover from off camera, we were all dying.
