Hate how stories about a human character getting romantically involved with magical demon-fairy-vampire-elf-etc always frame the nonhuman partner as, like, universally desirable and an obviously appealing choice instead of actually engaging with the fact that the normal-average main character is a bit of a freak for being so down to clown with what is essentially a completely different species

#like from a character standpoint it immediately makes them way more compelling if you actually engage with the fact that it actually says #something about the human character that they'd be into this instead of taking it as a forgone conclusion that they'd want to fuck this #other being #because if you really look at the situation honestly its not a given. like yeah this person is hot but you'd have to adjust to a LOT of #very unfamiliar stuff very quickly in ways that most people frankly are not prepared for #also setting aside the reality of the situation.
