speaking of movie recs, what are you're top (idk...) twelve, and why?

OOOOO! Now i love movies so get ready I’m an ex-media student! I can hear all my friends moaning at me right now (why are all my replies so long I’m so sorry)

1. Breakfast club - Im a huge 80s movies fan and the brat pack/John hughes make great movies and this movie just like bares the sole of each character. Its kinda washed out and natural colours and odd silences where theres no music really bring in that emotion that it plays on with the characters.

2. Pulp fiction - I freaking love this movie and its like my special subject i swear. This movie is so abstract in its time line and i just kind fell in love with it and all its tiny details. There really just something about this film that i cant explain why its so good. I think its just genius the way it was done. The colours are all very dark as well and it really fits.

3. Suburban gothic - Its a lil indie horror that you just cant help but love?? Its funny but the horror aspect still works really well with it! I think on paper it shouldn’t really work? But the characters are both really likable and its just a really good example of what a good indie movie is. Plus it has two of my favourite actors.

4. Kill your darlings - Its about the very unfair life of Lucian Carr (whom i love) who was a 1920s beat poet (the relationship aspects between jack and lucian are untrue but the rest isn’t) theres a lot of good quotes in this movie that i think are amazing ‘first thought, best thought’ is one of my favourites.

5. Place beyond the pines - Now this movie is beautiful. For me the film is kind of told in three parts! And its all very kind natural and dark based colours. The characters i think have some realness about their personalities too. The sound tarckis bEautIfUL honestly i just kinda played there for like an hour. 

6. Face off - Nick cage makes sOME great movies and honestly this plot line is fucking crazy and it works amazing. Its really funny and the way both characters have to learn how to act as different people is really cool. Also kinda fucked up but thats why its good.

7. Scott pilgrim vs the world - I swear to god i love this movie so much (everyone i know shut up) I think its humour was way before its time. It has so many good references and jokes that i think are really unappreciated. The main guy is kinda an asshole really but you still like him for some reason. And the fact that these people just have powers and you just except that? All the graphics are amAzing and fit with the theme so well.

8. Chronicle - This movie is really interesting as its shot mostly on a camcorder and follows one persons life and the way the plot line flips in the end is like !!! (its based off a comic and its soon good) Its cute a dark film in half the plot and in colour scheme and it just give you the feel that its someones personal video which i like.

9. Captain america the winter solider - No marvel movie has come close to having a plot line as good as this

10. Ruby sparks - Now this film is really fUcked up in some ways but the plot is really interesting because honestly you have very little idea of how things are working. There so so many questions when you watch this and you just kind of accept them until something else weird happens and the end just blows you mind.

11. Little miss sunshine - I lOved this film as a kid (probably weird) but its shows what i think to be a really good portrayal of a family with each character having their own problems. The colours are kinda washed out and light and the sound track is so good.

12. Space Jam - Its so good i have two copies

Lot of the movies i watch, especially the indie ones, usually have a little bit of a tragic or sad story line for the main protagonist but the feelings you get out of it?? Are just somethings cant really describe? They don’t feel as manufactured than a lot of main stream films and the soundtracks are usually beautiful, a lot of the music is quite ambient which gives it that feeling
