“A-chuuu!”

It’s terrible. To be sick on the day you, your boyfriend, and your friends, decided to have a get-together and walk around the neighborhood after the first snow yesterday. 

You woke up at dawn feeling as if your brain is being split into two. Your body feels as if it’s made up of lead. Ni-ki went to your apartment at 9 am expecting you to be fully-dressed and ready since you’ve been really looking forward to it. However what welcomed him was a pale-looking you covered with tons of layers of clothes plus the blanket you dragged from your bed. 

He immediately assisted you to bed, cooked your breakfast, and prepared your medicine complete with a timetable. He didn’t even want to join the outing, preferring to stay by your side and help you be better. 

“Go.”

“But!”

He never stood a chance when you used the most charm you can manage for him to give in. It’s not like you guilt-tripped him or anything. You just simply emphasized that Ni-ki loves winter more than you. 

You hate how the cold still seeps into your skin no matter how many layers you put on, and how the weather and mood keeps you from being productive. Of course, there’s still a lot of good things about this season you lowkey look forward too, but it won’t be fair if both of you missed on this opportunity that you, yourself, initiated. You looked forward to this hangout since it’s with him and your friends. Plus walking, goofing around, while holding hands with Ni-ki remains as one of the things you never get tired of. 

He reluctantly left hours ago, and now he’s back in your house after the trip, assisting you in any way possible. Like right now, he’s your tissue dispenser. So after that loud (Ni-ki keeps on calling it cute) sneeze, you accepted the tissue he handed over. You’re internally shouting at your brain to stop hurting while also patiently waiting for your boyfriend to tell stories of how their day went. 

“Look babe!”

He hands you his cellphone, unlocked. You keep the smile threatening to tore your numb lips from showing when you saw that his wallpaper is still the picture of the both of you posing for the camera when you went on a short road trip. 

“Check the gallery!” 

You opened it and saw probably less than a hundred of new photos and videos, seemingly taken from the trip a while ago. Brimming with curiosity, you opened the one with the earliest timestamp.

Alas, it’s a video of Ni-ki acting as if vlogging, introducing the rest of your friends to the camera as each person wishes for your health to be better soon. The video continues on after the introduction, and Ni-ki narrates most of the things that are happening. 

“Don’t curse yourself internally for missing this outing, okay? I filmed the whole time we were outside. Jungwon hyung also said that we will have another one of these trips since you missed this one. There are like a lot of funny things that happened, like this one time Jay hyung tripped or that time Sunoo got faceplanted with a snowball—”

With overflowing happiness and fondness, you tackled him with a hug. Seconds after, you realized he might catch the flu, and ended up pushing him away from you. Which actually never happened, because he returned the hug with much intensity, rendering your pitifully weak push useless. 

“Hey, you might catch the flu.”

He didn't listen.

“Eh? I don’t think a 5 minute hug is capable of that. Besides, I have strong immune system, you know?” 

Reluctantly giving in, the both of you remained cuddling with each other within the 5 minute timeframe Ni-ki gave. After that, the both of you, bundled with layers of clothes and blankets, watched all the videos he recorded. Even with the videos, Ni-ki still passionately tells the stories of how things happened. Your body’s still heavy but you feel so light.

Like that, it once again snows in the area. It will start to further cover the roads and rooves as the season progresses on, but you know that the both of you will remain warm in the arms of each other.
