okay hello i have not written much for the past 2-3 days bc i have not been taking care of myself BUT LISTEN bc i have not seen this anywhere in the tr fandom (eng at least)

theory about bonten’s name/origin!! really long post sorry

TOKYOREV 216 SPOILERS!!

to help: ⊳ after the image (twitter) is completely my own theories (a lot). the top part + the image is the main points that i wanted to get across (i built on them underneath)

bonten is made up of 2 kanji (chinese characters but japanese basically). 梵天. bonten is 2018.

brahman (senju’s gang, one of the 3 deities) is 梵, which is the first kanji of bonten. brahman most likely did not go very far after the vision takemichi had with senju dying, so it probably didnt go past 2009 (which is honestly kind of a stretch).

tenjiku (izana/kisaki, yk) is also made up of 2 kanji, 天竺. the first kanji is in bonten, and we all know that manjirou (mikey) likes to keep family and others in mind nowadays (esp because he decided to end his life when there was no one else to protect bc he killed them or he cut them off, also to end the suffering he felt).

so i was thinking. the 天 in bonTEN is most likely from tenjiku from what i would like to assume. obviously bc izana was his brother, even not by blood, but he still cared and wanted to carry out shinichirous dream (he wanted all the brothers/siblings to meet and get along like actual siblings).

but we dont know what could be important to manjirou from brahman. we do know that he’s takes action based on others instead of himself (unless it’s his dark impulse). we DO know that AKASHI HARUCHIYO (otherwise known as sanzu haruchiyo, i will be referring to him as sanzu) is literally called the loyal mad dog.

manjirou does know of his loyalty (unconfirmed, but it would be surprising if he didnt, seeing how he unapologetically killed mucho). and obviously sanzu has been confirmed that he is in fact related to senju and akashi takeomi. i mentioned in my last theory post that sanzu may had been the one to kill senju, his own sister.

we really dont know the relationship between sanzu and the rest of his siblings, but there mustve been a reason for manjirou to use the same kanji as brahman in bonten..?

⊳ btw, the 梵 kanji (brahman) is literally brahman from buddhism!! highly unlikely that mikey would use the same kanji in his own gang (from an opposing one) in the future without any type of significance to him.

im gonna be honest that i didnt think so far as to exactly why manjirou used the same character, but i can only imagine the only thing thats been introduced to us as a connector. its possible that now that takemichi and draken are in brahman, it could also be a possiblity?

maybe draken dies again, and senju also dies, which is something that takemichi needs to try and prevent. i have a feeling that since senju dies in the current 2018 timeline, then thats also part of a reason that bonten was created.

manjirou really reminds me of the “nothing is more important than family” dom toretto memes, where he places family over everyone else, even if they arent blood related (ex. izana). its possible that sanzu would have mourned senju and manjirou saw it or something.

again, we dont know much about the akashi family’s relationships together. maybe sanzu literally did not give a shit. maybe he broke down (unlikely from what we know of him, but not impossible).

bonten was never a thing before the tenjiku arc, which is also why i think that the second character in bonten is from tenjiku. before it was only corrupt touman under the rule of kisaki, but now kisaki is dead so bonten rose up.

in the end, this shouldnt make so much of a difference in plot, but character lore yes. the goal is to save not just mikey, but sano manjirou (as kazutora says), but what gets us there is a complete mystery. whatever happens, good luck to theorists, tokyorev manga readers, and future anime watchers. </3

do what you want with this information, ive just never seen anyone make the connection, especially in the english fanbase. if someone has then whoops! same big brain.

its still about mikey/senju i love them so much BUT THEY ARE GOING TO BE THE TOPIC AGAIN (its about their relationship [hc/predictions] and any significance it could have)

also this will be containing a theory based on a headcanon! this can 100% be false but i wanted to put this out there because i felt smart

okay so i saw a post/answer by tokyo-fukushu explaining their thoughts on mikey and senju being a romantic ship and they said that they saw [mikey/senju] more like siblings if anything! [link to the original post]

SINCE the thought of senju/mikey’s relationship would be more of a sibling relationship (hc, thoughts), would that explain a little more on why mikey is who is in bonten 10 years later??

as we all know, mikey lost just about everyone close to him (shinichirou, baji, emma, izana), and the majority of them are his siblings/family members. in chapter 216, takemichi sees in a vision that senju will die.

now if senju = familial relationship, but senju also dies in the timeline where mikey starts bonten, can this be related to them being close???

also if senju still dies and mikey does see her as a sister-figure, then my theory on sanzu killing senju is still a very viable option. kinda sad but its true!

⊳　i explained this in my other theory posts but i think that sanzu is gonna be the one to kill senju (despite being her brother) because of his extreme loyalty to mikey since the start. he didnt even wanna be in the same gang with his siblings (takeomi/senju) and stayed with mikey the entire time all the way from touman.

this is such a stretch but if this is fucking true im gonna lose my shit guys i might be a genius because im really proud of my other theories too (you can find my other theories in my masterlist!)
