Palazzo Castelluccio was a residence built in 1782 and owned by the family of Di Lorenzo. This family was in close relationship with the Royals of Naples, especially when king Ferdinando and queen Maria Carolina ruled the whole reign "delle due Sicilie" (which included entirely the southern part of Italy).
The residence was used by the family of Di Lorenzo until 1981, when the last descendant, marquis Corrado died. After his death, it was donated to the Order of Cavaliers of Malta according to the desires of the marquis. In 2011 it has been acquired by the French producer and journalist Jean-Louis Remilleux. He personally decided to restore the whole building, asking to Sicilian artists to help him. Even if the decorations do not respect faithfully the old ones, after three years of hard work, the insides can show again the great splendour of the past, also thanks Remilleux's furnishings with vintage objects from his own collection.
The residence is now open to tourists in Via Cavour.
