Let's go with Tueggi for this one!

6. Your character finds themself in a looping dream of their happiest moment. What is this moment, and would they choose to break the loop and go back to reality?

I think it would be the moment she met her wife Liffeh - their eyes meeting as she looks around to give directions to her fellow saplings in the midst of chaos (their small camp, raided, their supervising mentors, occupied). They worked together beautifully and shared a connection impossible to describe but undeniably potent. (She wouldn't be quick to admit to anyone that the whole of the circumstances were compelling - to seize control of a situation and lead admirably, not just keeping everyone safe and meeting a lifelong partner, but her heart and mind know it's true.)

She would allow herself the indulgence of reliving it three, maybe four, times before she attempted to shake herself free from the loop. It feels nice in the moment, but she has a present life to lead and people who rely on her.

11. Your character has to spend a whole day indoors. What do they get up to?

A frenzy of dusting, sweeping, sorting and putting away, then getting to checking this loose hinge and that split floorboard. If she can't leave the house, she ought to take advantage of the time for maintenance.

12. Your character has to spend a whole day out in nature. What kind of terrain do they choose to go to, and what do they get up to?

Honestly, she spends most of her time outdoors anyways as a warden in the Wychmire. If you add the requirement of she cant work and she can go anywhere, though, she might visit Timberline Falls. The climate there is a pleasant sort of bracing, and the views are a type of scenic she doesn't often get.

She'd happily - as long as she knew her duties at home were in someone else's capable hands - turn that day outdoors into a week of camping.

🍯 for a food headcanon

She's quite good at cooking over a campfire. When she has the supplies and the time, she'll get multiple pans going and make a full meal. In particular, she makes a great breakfast.

(When she's out camping on her own, it makes less sense to fill her pack with heavy cooking equipment, so her meals are a bit simpler and more practical.)

🏡 for a home headcanon

Once, a long time ago, she had a home very close to the Grove that she shared with someone dear to her. With neglect, both the home and the relationship fell into ruin. These days, she is most at home at the house she shares with her partners near Wychmire Swamp, though the idea that it is also her home is still a difficult one for her to process. When she speaks of it, it's still "Tueggi and Liffeh's home."

🌼 for a happiness headcanon

Her default expression is "stern, severe, and focused," and it does not vary much from that baseline. That makes it all the more noticeable when she does smile. It makes her look much softer. (It's a good look for her.)

💣 for a stress headcanon

She has a terrible track record with stress management. It's not that she blows up over things or makes rash, petty decisions -- she simply deals with the problem causing the stress and completely ignores the stress itself. This habit of putting her work above her own well-being has a tendency to catch up with her later.

random oc development question for whoever fits/you’d like to share about :): your home is about to be destroyed by a natural disaster. you have time to grab exactly one object from your home before you evacuate. what object do you choose and why is it so important to you? @kerra-and-company

huh, that's an interesting one! Thinking about which of my characters actually have a permanent residence...

Winter would be torn and indecisive, in the end just grabbing the closest thing it can hold before dashing out at the last possible second. A history of its life in the form of trinkets from all the adventures it's been on occupy every available surface, hook, and display in its home. There's a part of it that feels losing a trinket is like losing a story, both by having no material remnant and by having no tether if its memory wanes.

Whatever it took with it would be much, much harder to separate from it later. It would be an extra weight in its coat or bag, and that much more precious as the sole survivor of its collection and a token of the disaster itself!

It's still valentine's day! Who's your date?

additional details:

Miriam can be soft and sweet, catty and coarse, or whatever else appeals to you. He's charming and considerate. You run the risk of being a quick and messy meal if he gets bored.

Rrenne is awkward but sweet and a surprisingly good cook for someone with an iron stomach. Expect an outdoor date with a packed picnic and fending off a drake that begs for scraps.

Tueggi and Liffeh are each their own person, but if you're dating one you're dating the other, too. You can look forward to a very nice brunch, but Tueggi's demeanor will make it feel as much a job interview as a date.

Liffeh brought cookies.

Iorneym, fabled Commander of Your Heart, does things achingly sweet and all-out. balloons, flowers, those little plush animals with hearts, and a nice date somewhere upscale are in your future.

This isn't really Fillan's forte. you will recieve a clumsily picked handful of flowers and probably have lunch at some grungy place just outside the citadel that takes Industrial as a decor setting very seriously. The food will be good, but you will feel out of place. Fillan will probably try some rehearsed flirts and questions and then feel very awkward about it, but they're trying their best.

Sheep is-Hello! Fancy seeing you here! With so many eligible bachelors, it's a wonder you spotted me down here at all. Let me show you around the castle - oh, and don't mind the crowd building catapults. They can't reach us from here.

Bran, like Fillan, frets quite a bit about doing things right, but he's slightly better at it. He'll pick you up for your date and walk you home, if you like.

Winter is...affectionate is perhaps an understatement. You will be showered with affection and have a day jam-packed with those cheesy but secretly fun "couple's activities" events - you know the ones, they have stupid posters all over town. You'll receive flowers and nice chocolates. At the end of the night, you'll have been all over town and found some absurd vantage point to take in the sights.

16. A magical trickster has trapped your character and will only set them free if they can beat the trickster at a game of their choice. What game does your character choose to play?

INTERESTING choice for Sheep. I like your style :3

Sheep would demand a game of its own design and insist the game was a clear and established one, but as the game went on, any attempt to catch it would be met with "close, but that's not actually the end. You forgot a rule." [The rules were not explained.] The effect would be that of trying to play a game with a six-year old who INSISTS that no, you didn't win!

It is, however, a death game. A hide-and-seek, catch-me-if-you-can death game.

3. Your character is stuck in a timeloop! They can choose ONE other character to remember every loop. Which character do they choose? What happens next?

Honestly, Winter would pick the mortal it knew best wherever that was - and that would be a tough pick, because it travels a lot (and does its best to befriend people wherever it stops). This could have the effect of any one of my friend's OCs being dragged into absolute nonsense as Winter tries progressively weirder and weirder things and somehow expects them to not only go along with these disaster experiments but to participate!

4. Your character has to give a ten-minute speech on a subject of their choice to a room full of experts. What subject do they choose?

Depending on the role he's most recently taken, Miriam may draw from the knowledge base of the person he's pretending to be. He's very good at doing his research, or at least, doing enough to pass as them. Honestly, he might have been in this exact situation before, and I'm delighted by the idea of him reading the pilfered notes of a historian and never once hesitating on the things he knows aren't entirely true.

If it was in one of his periods in between stints of identity theft, though, his memory will be less fresh and less focused. He could give a damned good lesson on body language, though.

24. Your characters are all guests at an old manor house. It soon becomes clear that their host is secretly planning to kill them. All the doors and windows in the house are locked tight, and their host has the keys. How do your characters react? Do they all make it out alive?

Tueggi and Liffeh (don't be fooled by the angle, Liffeh's taller) are disadvantaged by terrain; they're used to green spaces with wind direction, tripping roots, leaf-obscured mud, and three dimensions to navigate. That won't stop them from coordinating their efforts to find and corner their host into a space with no easy exit and poor layout for fighting. (In a fair fight, after all, the host would be very much outmatched, so trickery is to be expected.)

While Liffeh needs help navigating the physical spaces (with eyesight that's a hair's breadth from absent, it's safer to blindfold and rely on her other senses and tueggi's occasional cues than risk walking into things that blend with the ambient color of a space), her ties to the mists will help her sense where their quarry may be hiding in the building. Tueggi has an almost sixth sense for traps and hidden passages, so it will take true finesse to catch the pair in one.

Their host (whatever their motivations) would have bitten off far more than they can chew. The would-be killer find themself restrained, keys pilfered, and carted off to whoever counted as the local authorities.

Unless this was a Kitah Manor sort of situation with the risen illusionist. Then the host would just be dead. Again.

NA Open RP Event Survey Results!

Thank you all for your interest! I'll paste the tables under a cut below for anyone curious about the data. I'll also get working on setting up the EU survey this week, but bear in mind some options for NA won't be available since I don't have EoD on that account, and a fair number of the people from the previous survey with EU accounts don't have access to the Amnoon lounge.

oh ex-inquest is a DOOZY, i'd definitely keep them far away from laamb - she wouldn't trust them for a second with that background, and any chaos would seem confirmation that they weren't any better, and never would be.

Tueggi, on the other hand, can respect growth as long as it's genuine. She's a bit no-nonsense, so her tolerance for antics is limited, but as long as nobody gets hurt or seriously antagonized it's acceptable. She's a former pact medic who would enjoy mentoring someone in the healing arts; currently, she serves as a warden in Wychmire with her wife, Liffeh. Maybe Eethie could come over and share a pot of tea with them and their shared girlfriend Laithreach (@bird-bureau's commander) :)
