read two books about neurodiversity this week that made me realise i am terrible at setting boundaries and that’s why i am forever burning out but it’s so HARD to say no to people when your job is literally serving people

#it's like. i need you to understand i am not incompentent or uncaring so badly this is just much harder for me than it is for you #but i can't go round telling everybody sorry can't do that i have an invisible disability & also a degree to complete #because that will look like i'm not committed #like today was blocked out for dissertation work but ppl put three different meetings into my diary and i went! #i knew it was a terrible idea but i went and all my ward colleagues were there so if i hadn’t gone it wouldve looked like i don’t care #but it wiped me out so much that i've been laying in bed for 4+ hours #unable to write that article theyre expecting me to write unable to work on my dissertation unable to do anything fun #and i know you can't pour from an empty cup! i know that! but looking back i know i also wouldve regretted it if i'd said no #fieldwork
