#I tried to read tolkien as a kid but found the descriptions so dense and frankly boring that I gave up idk maybe 75 pages in #can't remember if it was hobbit or lotr #then I tried the hobbit in my late teens because a friend had made it her entire personality #unfortunately a catastrophic friendship breakup ensued that left no survivors so my interest in tolkien was kinda shot for a long while #and now I'm starting again because I want something new and it's been sitting on my bookshelf haunting me! the writing is very cute so far #shocked and dismayed that gandalf's introductory paragraph failed to mention his big naturals but I know they're there #txt
