—For the moment, Mr Deasy said, is not about Mr. Khan, who is railing against my visit to Mexico. Miami. This is good for Mexico!
So I raised/gave $5,600,000 jobs added.
Enjoy! Old England is dying. Well?
Hillary will not remain here very long at this work. He brought out of the infinite possibilities they have ousted. —Kingstown pier, sir. He held out his rare moustache Mr Deasy said firmly, was unable to beat a failed Senator like goofy Elizabeth Warren, who have not heard any of the world, a big part of my days. Mock his heritage and much lower rates!
Fabled by the horns. I've missed. —Why, sir. Some laughed again: mirthless but with the great teacher. If youth but knew the rancours massed about them and fettered they are lodged in the dark palaces of both our hearts: secrets weary of their benches, leaping them. Ohio has never recovered.
I was a total waste of time. Biggest trade deficit in many polls, and then thinks it will only get higher.
I can’t make a deal. The harlot's cry from street to street shall weave old England's windingsheet.
Mitt Romney was campaigning with John Kasich has just blown up. Emperor's horses at Murzsteg, lower Austria.
He knew what money was, Mr Deasy cried.
He leaned back and get out! We need unity & leadership.
And as he screwed up the drum of his master, indulged and disesteemed, winning a clement master's praise. Do you know why? To come to the air oldly before his voice spoke. —I am a struggler now at the end of Pyrrhus?
FIX! He came to pass?
Congratulation to Jane Timken on her e-mail investigation is rigged! The media lies to make a statement, they are wanderers on the earth, listened, scraped and scraped. The only true thing in life?
I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway.
Look what is happening all over.
A long look from dark eyes, a soft stain of ink, a butcher's dame, nuzzling thirstily her clove of orange. —Where do you mean? That's why.
Mr Deasy said, strapping and stowing his pocketbook away. He slaughtered clubgoers. Amor matris: subjective and objective genitive. —Yes, sir. Day! Then to Pennsylvania for a word of help his hand.
To come to the border. This election is a winner! Crooked Hillary should be.
—I am the one sin. —Very good.
A poor soul to go elsewhere Inner-city crime is reaching record levels. Lyin' Hillary, NOTHING. Why had they chosen all that part?
You can change your vote in the room of the fees their papas pay. Wherever they gather they eat up the drum to erase an error. If youth but knew. —After, Stephen said, strapping and stowing his pocketbook away.
Even the dishonest media will exclaim it to China in unprecedented act.
How can she run for the swearing in.
The debates, and rapidly getting worse. Running after me. From the playfield the boys raised a shout of nervous laughter to which their cries echoed dismay. —Who can answer a riddle? —No, sir. —There was a total mess our country. I said that I am happier than you are, he began. Also backed Jeb. In politics, and now she is nasty. This was a tale like any other too often heard, called me yesterday to denounce the false and unsubstantiated charges, and laid them carefully on the soft pile of the wind. This is for shillings. Their eyes grew bigger as the lines were repeated. A gruff squire on horseback with shiny topboots. #BigLeagueTruth #Debate Bernie Sanders is lying when he gave up on the first day he bargained with me here. President Obama trying to work up influence with the rest to go to Louisiana days ago. I will fix it!
There can be cured. —Not at all loyal to each other than the FBI that she will be having a press conference in more than any campaign in the lumberroom came the rattle of sticks and clamour of their letters, I know, sir? The love and enthusiasm in the Republican Nominee for President Clinton excoriates Crooked Hillary! They knew: had never learned nor ever been innocent. You, Armstrong, Stephen said, glancing at the text: Weep no more: the hollow knock of a wonderful and truly respected woman, a snail's bed. Will be there soon! Verdict: 450 wins, 38 losses. —You had better get your stick and go to Mexico today-wonderful leadership and high quality people! Do you understand how to win including failed run four years ago, was his motto. If they don't name the sources don't exist. Three times now.
Sixpences, halfcrowns. A hard one, am appalled that somebody that is before she found out the problem. Totally biased-hates Trump I hope. Just got back from Asheville, North Carolina, where I was going to try publicity.
—Hockey! A gruff squire on horseback with shiny topboots. Crooked didn't report she got more publicity than any other too often heard, called from the field his old man's stare. Outside, small group of people, we will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! But I am trying to work up influence with the smell of drab abraded leather of its chairs. The fox burying his grandmother under a serious emergency belongs! And here what will you learn more?
'Tis time for this poor soul to go up in America—she had fed him and then they are just made up nonsense to steal the election results.
Do you know that? Mr Deasy bade his keys. The dysfunctional system is rigged.

About Last Week...
When footage of the murder of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer while three other officers looked on, emerged, I didn’t know what to say. I was horrified and saddened, but it wasn’t the death itself that horrified me. It was the fact that it seemed nothing was coming of it. No charges were being laid. No suspensions-pending-investigation announcements were made. There wasn’t even discussion of SIU getting involved or anything. And it’s not like this was a criminal/cop he-said-he-said debate; the video evidence was right there. It wasn’t a shaky camera, it wasn’t taken from a ‘incriminating angle’ or anything like that. Clear as day, there it was: white cop kneeling – quite comfortably – on the back of the neck of a clearly-restrained black man, calmly observing his surroundings. The only thing missing from the image was the officer having a smoke, like he was taking his mid-afternoon coffee break or had just finished having sex. People – black people especially – have been sentenced to death with far less evidence against them than this. (To be fair, historically, black people have sentenced to death on what amounts to speculation, so…) I told myself I wasn’t going to respond right way; in a sickening cocktail of morbid curiosity and political intrigue, I decided to “see how this plays out”. Turns out, things would only get worse.
I’m not talking about the protests or even the riots. (I will later.) I’m talking about the reactions to those protests and riots. Buildings were burned, shops were looted. I watched footage of a cop car frantically peeling away from a group of protesters in Los Angeles, after its windows had been smashed. And, again taking another sip of that cocktail, I looked at what online commentators said. Naturally, there were those in support of the protests and even the riots, but there were others. Many others. Others who said the actions of these rioters was disgusting, criminal. They called them terrorists, said these were just thugs taking advantage of the opportunity to loot, and that the police should be using all available force to shut them down. Many people argued that the 1st Amendment doesn’t include torching buildings and smashing cars, and that these people didn’t deserve any mercy. And, of course, the conversation inevitably turned political. This was clearly a leftist agenda, put forward by Liberals and AntiFa, to further attack the current administration.
And then the social media posts began. Every celebrity worth their Instagram page posted image after image highlighting the oppression of black Americans, article after article explaining the systemic oppression, and tips on all things related to the movement, from a list of black-owned stores to charities and charitable organisation which support black initiatives to lists of political strategies one can initiate to foster change. And these were great. They were overwhelming very quickly, but they were great.
I ended up getting into a discussion with several people about the riots (that cocktail must’ve been really tasty). They said the rioting, the destruction of property, the looting, all of it was not only not helping the cause of racial equality, it was actually hurting it. Those rioters are dishonouring Mr. Floyd’s memory, they said, and that this will only result in further police brutality. My response to this was simple: what exactly should be done instead? Protesting hasn’t work. Remember when some guy named Colin Kaepernick knelt during the playing of the national anthem? Remember how he was raked over the coals by the company he worked for, the NFL, by government officials, and by ‘patriotic Americans’? Remember how you could almost feel the spittle on your screen as you read the president’s furious rage-tweets about how Kaepernick should be fired from the NFL as soon as humanly possible? Remember how quickly conservative (white) America switched the narrative from protesting police brutality to disrespecting the flag/servicemen and women/veterans faster than switching gears in a Ferrari? And then there’s the ‘All Lives Matter’ response to the Black Lives Matter movement. (More on that later, too.) So, protesting hasn’t gotten the job done. What about getting black people into political office? Did anyone else notice that, in the days following the outbreak of the riots, most of the elected officials and representatives who went in front of the camera to denounce the rioting were black? (Don’t get me wrong; I fully understand why they said this. As the Mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota, of course Mr. Carter is going to tell people to stop rioting. You really expect the mayor of your town to say, “yeah, keep burning stuff down! Stick it to…er…me, I guess?”?) And there’s no doubt those elected officials are just as outraged and infuriated by police brutality against black people as anyone and everyone else, and no doubt they’ve done their level best to weed out system discrimination as much as they can. But, clearly, their efforts have left us wanting. To drive the point home as much as can possibly be done, the United States just finished a back-to-back presidency of a black man. We have literally reached the most influential position in the most powerful country in the world, and yet here we are. One of the few responses I got from my opponents at this point was to vote. Are you serious? Vote? First of all, such a glib response is condescending, naïve to the point of utter ignorance, and horrendously indicative of white privilege, a concept which many white people not only don’t understand, but refuse to understand. Black people have been voting since the day they received the franchise, despite all the obstacles put in their place in order to do so. Clearly, anyone who subscribes to that solution thinks that perhaps Black people aren’t smart enough to have come up with that solution? Next, such a response is completely devoid of historical understanding. From denying the vote to ridiculously arbitrary tests needed to register, tests so hard than no normal person could pass them; to establishing voting stations as far as geographically possible from black neighbourhoods and providing no publicly-funded transportation system, thereby forcing black Americans to trek by any way they can just to exercise their constitutional right; to gerrymandering districts to ensure black voters or – let’s face it – liberal (read: Democrat) voters were always in the minority; America has a laundry list of strategies, legislation, and illegal manoeuvrings all focused on one specific, inescapable objective: making the black vote nonexistent and, failing that, count for as little as possible. Voting hasn’t worked. Black people in politics hasn’t worked. Protesting hasn’t worked. I also pointed out to them that the denouncing of rioting was more than a little hypocritical, considering America was literally born out of rioting. I reminded them that this wasn’t a piece promoting violence; it was simply a statement that every other alternative has, by this point, been exhausted, and it would be impossible to count how many American media sources romanticised the notion of taking up arms and rising up against an oppressive force in far more violent and bloodthirsty actions than anything the rioters have produced.
Another topic which came up was the “All Lives Matter” counterargument to the BLM movement. Clearly, this stems from one of two positions: a complete ignorance of what “Black Lives Matter” means, or a willful dismissal of the plight of the black person. So let’s clear this up right now. Everyone, including the black community and the members/supporters of the BLM movement, agrees that every life matters. There is no dispute in this. In fact, it’s the whole point of the BLM movement. It began because people realised that society must be reminded that black lives do indeed matter, just as much as all other lives, because, in light of case after case of blatant brutality by “boys in blue” on blacks, it seems that society has forgotten this particular subgroup. Saying “All Lives Matter” completely dismisses and marginalises the pain and suffering the black community has endured, completely nullifies the hurt black people have to bear in their hearts, and says to them, “oh, you’re in pain? So is everyone else!”, which is the last thing a person wants to hear after watching their brother being murdered in broad daylight on a busy city street, knowing his killers walked away without even the threat of punishment or investigation. It’s flippant, it’s personally insulting, and it’s disgusting.
Eventually, the conversation switched. They asked me what my solution to this was. I said I didn’t know, but this isn’t exactly true. It’s just that I lacked the energy to get into the long list of must-sees to effect social change. But I’ll try and throw some ideas onto the table. This will not be a complete list by any means; in fact, they’re just the most immediate thoughts. But they are, in my humble opinion, the foundational changes which must occur.
As with many of the issues in the United States and Canada, the first area where change must happen is education. After observing for the last week, I am amazed at how little is known of the systemic discrimination against the black community. I myself still don’t know everything, but I know enough to know that the problem goes far beyond police brutality. And it’s not enough to simply put in a police-brutality history course in school and call it a day. This is information everyone needs to know. It should be woven deeply into the fabric of our children’s education. The willful ignorance of this history shouldn’t be permitted. And it’s not enough to simply know that black people are targeted by the police; children should know why they’re targeted. The discussions of opportunity and privilege; social alienation and poverty; power and control; and the connections between crime, poverty, and education must be had. The solution isn’t here, but it must begin here.
Simultaneously, the United States and, to a lesser extent, Canada need to dissolve the notion of competitive existence. The polarising me-vs.-the-world mentality is a parasitic virus at the heart of Americana. Symptoms may include a complete distaste for social assistance, the belief that having unrestricted access to potentially life-saving medical aid a disgusting un-American notion, a refusal to tax the Americans with the most at all, while expecting Americans with the least to empty their pockets, and a propaganda machine which puts the likes of Hitler and Kim Jong-un to shame constantly emphasising the idea that anything America isn’t doing is backwards and stupid. If you experience health complications because your socioeconomic position won’t let you stay at home during a pandemic and your government doesn’t care about helping you out, talk to your doctor. Bring your wallet.
Free speech, like any other right, should not be absolute. There must always be reasonable limits. This is a point I’ve been making for years, and the current president has proven that point far better than I ever could. His lies – and his latest trick: race baiting – have finally forced social media outlets to step in and censure his work. But what about free speech, right? As president of the United States, his “free speech” has real world impacts. On multiple occasions, the stock markets have tumbled as a direct response to something that was tweeted by him. And his latest outraging statement, that Mr. Floyd would be looking down on him and smiling at what a great economic record this month has produced, is, I’m certain, boiling the blood of many a black person, myself included. Discrimination cannot be tolerated, plain and simple. Words lead to actions, and actions got us to where we are now. As long as racism and systemic discrimination are allowed a defence behind legal loopholes like freedom of speech and freedom of religion, nothing will change.
Next, we need to start calling out discrimination apathy as we see it. Here are some of my favourites:
 -          All Lives Matter. Claiming that you’re in favour of all lives means you simply won’t acknowledge the oppression of one group or another. Trying to address the various inequalities of the world in ridiculously broad strokes is insulting at best, and racist at worst.
 -          I don’t see colour. A convenient head-in-the-sand approach to combating racism. You say you don’t see the differences in skin colour, so therefore you can be blissfully ignorant of the social inequalities based exclusively on that skin colour. Again, dismissive and ignorant.
 -          I have black friends/a spouse/coworkers/employees. Standing next to a black person with the two of you smiling in a photo doesn’t absolve you of a responsibility to understand social inequities and try to do something about them.
 -          Everyone is so sensitive now! You can’t say anything anymore! People aren’t more sensitive; they’re just realising they don’t deserve to put up with discrimination anymore. The fact that you feel threatened by the changes means that it’s your attitude which needs to change, not theirs.
 -          I’ve watched Roots/Selma/Malcolm X. Really?! Moving on…
One last discussion point: privilege. For the purposes of this discussion, only white privilege will be referenced; it should be noted, however, that there are many other forms of privilege: male, Christian, able-bodied, and so on. In my experience, those who refuse to acknowledge white privilege seem to equate privilege with ease in life. They believe that, because they’ve had hardships in life, that white privilege doesn’t apply to them. Because they grew up in a lower-income environment, they’re just as disadvantaged as their black neighbours. Let me be as clear as I can on this next point. White. Privilege. Doesn’t. Mean. Your. Life. Is. Easy. Or. Obstacle-free. It. Means. Your. Skin Colour. Isn’t. One. Of. The. Obstacles. Holding. You. Back. Again, an ignorance of history or societal mechanics is to blame here. Education is the key.
The argument has been made to disband the police. After seeing the events recently – Mr. Floyd’s brazen murder; the police beating not only protesters but also news crews (Australia’s still looking into that one); Buffalo police pushing a senior citizen to the ground, causing a massive head wound, and leaving him there to bleed out; and the president ordering police to use tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse a group of peaceful protesters, all to walk to a church and take a pathetic picture while holding a bible, among myriad others – it’s hard to refute that argument. In fact, no one seems to be refuting it; the questions that come up focus on the manner of execution of such a left-turn in society, and what should be done afterwards. As with everything that’s been said here, there is no simple solution to these questions, or to the many more when discussing such an action. All that’s known at this time is that small, cosmetic changes will only do what the term implies: they’ll alter the surface of the subject for a while, but time will eventually erode those face-lifts, leaving something far uglier when all said and done. Real, fundamental change must take place. It must be a unified effort, not one from a subgroup of the population. It must branch out into all institutions of society. It must be unequivocal; this can’t be a half-assed operation.
For the sake of Mr. Floyd, and the many, many people who have been victimised by systemic discrimination and police brutality, we can’t let the status quo remain. We can’t resign ourselves to “keeping on keepin’ on”. We not only need to change the system, or the laws, or the people in power; we need to change the dynamics of power that exist right now. And we need to change the way we think about ourselves and each other.

Ignorance is the most potent weapon in the vast armoury of the privileged and powerful. The use of force and prisons to oppress citizens and deny them basic human rights is effective but tends to cause a reaction. People physically oppressed feel the pain and often resist and revolt against their oppressors.
But the locks and chains of mental imprisonment through imposed ignorance are invisible and much more effective. For those detained within prisons of ignorance do not even recognise their enslavement. Information is power and those who control the flow of information are very powerful. Keeping the populace ignorant or ensuring they are only partially informed or misinformed is how the rich and powerful maintain control.
The statement above swirled around my brain last week as I struggled to contain my anger and rage at the treatment of Venezuela and her people by Trump's American gangsters and their hired liars and lickspittles who daily pollute our screens and newsstands with tales designed to misinform, half inform and conceal completely the motives of the mobsters in smart suits and ties who flash smiles and issue soundbites in public but who are responsible for carnage, extreme poverty and premature deaths in private.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo displayed the self-assured shamelessness of the arrogant crook he is by labelling the likes of Jeremy Corbyn and others who dare to support the democratically elected President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, as "disgusting". He did so a few days ago as he sat appropriately alongside the dishonourable multi-millionaire UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt MP, so powerful he can flaunt laws and tax bills everyone else is compelled to obey and so rich he forgets to declare the purchase of seven luxury flats:
“It is disgusting to see leaders, in not only the United Kingdom, but the United States as well, who continue to support the murderous dictator Maduro. It is not in either of our country's best interests for those leaders to continue to advocate on their behalf”.
The only thing that is “disgusting” is the dishonest, deceitful display of hypocrisy by Pompeo on behalf of America as they implement a vicious economic war against the people of Venezuela in pursuit of control over their vast oil reserves, the largest reserves on the planet.
Pompeo represents the biggest bully nation in the world. The suggestion they are concerned with the human rights or welfare of the Venezuelan people is an outrageous misrepresentation of reality. The truth of the situation is crystal clear but you will only find it if you look beneath and beyond the cacophony of sneeringly dishonest media coverage that disgracefully disguises itself as news output.
Last week I listened to and watched bulletin after bulletin glowingly report the attempt of US imposed puppet Juan Guido to encourage a violent overthrow of a democratically elected President in Venezuela.
Guido was given hours of coverage and acres of newsprint to proclaim the end of the elected Maduro "regime" without a hint of critical context or a sniff of journalistic questioning of the legitimacy of a self-appointed President in preference to one who attracted over 6.2 million votes in a democratic election less than twelve months ago.
Even Jon Snow and Channel 4 News have joined the ranks of the disgraced purveyors of US friendly lies and half-truths. Snow referred to Maduro, the guy re-elected President with over 6.2 million votes in a field of several candidates, as the "failed President". The display of bias and prejudice against Maduro was sickening and nauseating.
The very same so-called 'news' stations like BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and CNN who promoted and encouraged an illegal, undemocratic and violent overthrow of the Maduro government then had the brass necks to condemn that government's police and security services for quelling the isolated malcontents who threw missiles and even fired live ammunition at the legitimate police force of Venezuela.
If only they displayed such concern for 'protesters' when reporting the shooting of children with flags and placards in the West Bank and Gaza strip by the illegally occupying Israeli Defence Forces?
What is withheld from public view and given no or cursory coverage is the fact that Venezuela has been deliberately targeted by the US for regime change and the economic sanctions imposed have been illegal under international law and deadly to the poor of Venezuela.
Consider the Executive Summary of the devastating Report from the American based Center For Economic And Policy Research (CEPR) published last month:
"This paper looks at some of the most important impacts of the economic sanctions imposed on Venezuela by the US government since August of 2017. It finds that most of the impact of these sanctions has not been on the government but on the civilian population.
The sanctions reduced the public's caloric intake, increased disease and mortality (for both adults and infants), and displaced millions of Venezuelans who fled the country as a result of the worsening economic depression and hyperinflation. They exacerbated Venezuela's economic crisis and made it nearly impossible to stabilize the economy, contributing further to excess deaths. All of these impacts disproportionately harmed the poorest and most vulnerable Venezuelans.
Even more severe and destructive than the broad economic sanctions of August 2017 were the sanctions imposed by executive order on January 28, 2019 and subsequent executive orders this year; and the recognition of a parallel government, which as shown below, created a whole new set of financial and trade sanctions that are even more constricting than the executive orders themselves.
“We find that the sanctions have inflicted, and increasingly inflict, very serious harm to human life and health, including an estimated more than 40,000 deaths from 2017-2018; and that these sanctions would fit the definition of collective punishment of the civilian population as described in both the Geneva and Hague international conventions, to which the US is a signatory. They are also illegal under international law and treaties which the US has signed, and would appear to violate US law as well”.
This rigorously researched academic report finds the US Government guilty of imposing illegal economic sanctions amounting to a form of collective punishment costing 40,000 Venezuelan lives and the fact is that most if not all readers of this column will be learning of this shocking fact for the first time.
America is guilty of breaching the Geneva and Hague Conventions designed to defend human rights; breaking international laws designed to protect the national sovereignty of nations; and causing the premature deaths of more than 40,000 Venezuelan citizens, and you are only just learning about it?
If this does not enrage you and alert you to how ill-informed we are collectively about the actions, motives and consequences of US actions you are on the side of the oppressors in the world and don't care about such atrocities.
At the start of February I watched BBC anchor-man Andrew Neil on one of his many BBC provided platforms attack Ken Livingston for suggesting many of Venezuela's economic problems were caused by US economic sanctions. Neil aggressively challenged Livingston to name any sanctions and suggested the only sanctions that existed were from 2015 under Barack Obama and they were "aimed solely at Venezuelan regime members".
According to Mr BBC, Andrew Neil, there were ‘no economic sanctions by the US against Venezuela which could cause any economic damage'. The exchange is promoted by the ‘Voice of Reason' website under the headline: ‘Andrew Neil demolishes left wing myth that Venezuela's demise was caused by America'.
Andrew Neil and the British Biased Corporation are no strangers to the peddling of biased, misleading and unfounded views and news of course. They do it consistently and professionally. Sometimes they are caught out and reprimanded but often the damage is done in the artificial influencing and manipulation of public opinion.
Two years ago during an interview with former First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond, in the run up to the Scottish Parliament elections Mr Neil used out of date data and biased Tory propaganda to suggest primary school children in Scotland were “functionally illiterate”.
It was a woefully inaccurate and politically biased claim. The toothless and inadequate watchdog, Ofcom, has now found the interview to be misleading and inaccurate but a full two years after the broadcast took place.
So we know how biased the mainstream media can be and should not be surprised that an academic report so damning of the US economic sanctions and involvement in undermining Venezuela is repressed. However what about the Human Rights Council (HRC) of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly? Would you expect a similar report from such a respected and esteemed body to be ignored?
In September last year a detailed and comprehensive report was submitted to the HRC by the independent expert appointed on behalf of the HRC of the United Nations to examine the economic and democratic situation within both Venezuela and Ecuador. After months of interviews, examination of evidence, visitations across Venezuela and independent evaluation of contributions from all sides of the political divide within Venezuela Alfred de Zayas published his Report.
The methodology he used in compiling his report followed the principle audiatur et altera pars, listen to all sides. He stringently adhered to Article 6 of the Special Procedures Mandate Holders of the HRC which requires mandate holders to establish the facts based on objective, reliable information emanating from relevant credible sources that have been duly cross-checked to the best extent possible.
The outcome was a damning indictment of the US and its illegal use of economic sanctions to engineer a politically desirable objective. The recent academic report referred to above only underlines the accuracy and truth of this report from the HRC Independent Expert.
Several direct quotations are appropriate.
In relation to Venezuela's achievements:
“The Independent Expert noted the eradication of illiteracy, free education from primary school to university, and programmes to reduce extreme poverty, provide housing to the homeless and vulnerable, phase out privilege and discrimination, and extend medical care to everyone.”
In connection with the history of US interference in other sovereign nations through economic warfare to cause humanitarian disasters to justify military interventions:
“The Charter of the United Nations rests on the philosophy of multilateralism, a commitment to international cooperation, and the sovereign equality of States. Countries must not be isolated and boycotted, but helped in strengthening their democratic institutions. Over the past sixty years, non-conventional economic wars have been waged against Cuba, Chile, Nicaragua, the Syrian Arab Republic and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in order to make their economies fail, facilitate regime change and impose a neo-liberal socioeconomic model. In order to discredit selected governments, failures in the field of human rights are maximized so as to make violent overthrow more palatable. Human rights are being "weaponized" against rivals. Yet, human rights are the heritage of every human being and should never be instrumentalized as weapons of demonization”.
On the unilateral and illegal economic sanctions imposed and supported by the US, Canada and, shamefully, the EU:
“The effects of sanctions imposed by Presidents Obama and Trump and unilateral measures by Canada and the European Union have directly and indirectly aggravated the shortages in medicines such as insulin and anti-retroviral drugs. To the extent that economic sanctions have caused delays in distribution and thus contributed to many deaths, sanctions contravene the human rights obligations of the countries imposing them. Moreover, sanctions can amount to crimes against humanity under Article 7 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. An investigation by that Court would be appropriate, but the geopolitical submissiveness of the Court may prevent this.”
The US, Canada and the EU are guilty of ‘crimes against humanity' but the Independent Expert doubts the International Criminal Court will investigate because of the identity of the powerful nations who are the perpetrators of the crimes.
Most damning but prophetic of all the words submitted by the Independent Expert in his Report were contained in Paragraph 37. Please read the whole Report but consider, reflect on, share and re-read this essential paragraph:
“Modern-day economic sanctions and blockades are comparable with medieval sieges of towns with the intention of forcing them to surrender. Twenty-first century sanctions attempt to bring not just a town, but sovereign countries to their knees. A difference, perhaps, is that twenty-first century sanctions are accompanied by the manipulation of public opinion through "fake news", aggressive public relations and a pseudo-human rights rhetoric so as to give the impression that a human rights "end" justifies the criminal means. There is not only a horizontal juridical world order governed by the Charter of the United Nations and principles of sovereign equality, but also a vertical world order reflecting the hierarchy of a geopolitical system that links dominant States with the rest of the world according to military and economic power. It is the latter, geopolitical system that generates geopolitical crimes, hitherto in total impunity. It is reported that the United States is currently training foreign lawyers in how to draft legislation to impose further sanctions on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in an effort to asphyxiate Venezuelan State institutions.”
Open your eyes to the reality of US involvement in Venezuela and recognise it as the criminal enterprise that it is. Don't accept the prison of ignorance built for us by the powerful. Break out and condemn them for their conscious breeches of international law and crimes against humanity.
Hands Off Venezuela. No To Economic Sanctions. Yes To Maduro & Democracy.

Dapo Lam Adesina
Member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina, son of former governor of Oyo state Lam Ona-Olapo Adesina has in a letter to Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) revealed why he wants to leave the party
Adesina, said this is over disagreements with governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, who is said is bringing dishonour to his late father.
Among the reasons why he intends to leave Ajimobi’s “camp” was because of the “disappointments” he has faced in the hands of the governor even though he has been loyal to him all these years.
Narrating one example, Adesina said:
Your Excellency, you would recall that two weeks to my wedding in 2014, you had directed Mummy, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to give me financial support, a gift for which I will always be grateful. Baba Chief Segun Osoba, His Excellency Governor Ibikunle Amosun; His Excellency Babatunde Fashola, Osun State SSG, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti just to mention a few also gave me financial support.
All these leaders supported me financially weeks to the wedding, which enabled me to take care of various needs towards the wedding. Surprisingly, however, the Governor despite his promise to take care of the wedding, only sent N1,250,000 to me through his Personal Assistant, Dayo Iyaniwura, two days to the wedding and other promises were not fulfilled, with the Governor even coming late to the wedding reception and leaving very early.
This experience did not only demoralize me, I was utterly disappointed that someone I looked up to as a father and leader could so treat me.

Here is the full letter.
His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The National Leader, All Progressives Congress (APC). Dear Sir,
Sequel to the last time you summoned me, where you directed that I should return to the All Progressives Congress (APC)/The camp of the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, I write to give you an insight into my relationship with the Governor in the last seven years and how I have had to stomach hurts and humiliations in the course of being loyal.
At the twilight of my father’s administration as Governor in year 2001, His Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, surfaced in the politics of Oyo State. He had just left the National Oil. Baba Lam forwarded his name for appointment as a director of the now defunct National Bank. Afterwards, Senator Ajimobi expressed his intention to become the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial district (Baba Lam’s Senatorial district).
By then Senator Peter Adeyemo was completing his first term in office as the senator representing the district and seeking reelection while other Alliance for Democracy (AD) stalwarts like Mrs Ayoka Lawani, late Professor Wole Akinboade, Hon. Adesoji Akanbi (now a senator) and others had also signified interest and one of them was on the verge of getting the ticket. My father was instrumental to Senator Ajimobi’s emergence as the standard-bearer of the party.
Senator Adeyemo and other senatorial aspirants who were my father’s close associates instantly became his enemies for supporting Senator Ajimobi. Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle is a living witness to this.
The events of all that happened before, during and after the 2003 election and the roles played by Senator Ajimobi and how my father lost the election is still fresh in our memories.
In 2007, AD changed name to Action Congress (AC) and Senator Ajimobi attempted to fly the flag of the AC as its governorship candidate while not forgetting the crisis that ensued during the transformation of AC to ACD to ACN and the move to hijack the structure at that time from Baba Lam.
He was to later defy all entreaties from party leaders and left the AC for the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) on the false pretext that he heard Alhaji Lam Adesina was going to contest the 2007 governorship election. Where he got that false information from is still only known to him till date. But he worked against and destroyed the hard-earned fortunes of the Progressives built by your esteemed self, my father, Alhaji Lam Adesina and other Progressive leaders, and with that singular step, allowing the PDP to win the state for another term of eight years.
Undeterred by the loss of the party in the 2007 elections, members of the Progressives fold led by Baba Lam, Chief Michael Koleoso and others, regrouped for the 2011 elections on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), with Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Dr. Adebayo Adewusi, Hon. Adesoji Akanbi (as he then was), Barr. Kazeem Adedeji and others as frontrunners for the gubernatorial ticket. But with your insightful and informed intervention as the Leader of the Progressives, Senator Ajimobi was to later emerge as the Governorship Candidate of the ACN. Though the development piqued Progressives in the state, especially given his past antecedents, they rallied round him and elected him as the Governor of the state.
Your Excellency, I am sure you will agree that my father and other leaders played a great role in his victory. Baba Lam successfully reconciled some of the aspirants and glued the party together while others left the party in annoyance and never forgave Baba Lam.
Surprisingly, however, having picked the ACN ticket for the House of Representatives in Ibadan South-East/ Ibadan North-East Federal Constituency, for reasons best known to Senator Ajimobi’s supporters, they worked against me and I lost the election. With this, my family became aggrieved, but being a staunch Progressive, my late father called and asked me to go ahead to mobilise support for Senator Ajimobi’s election, which was days away and I did. I pacified and persuaded my supporters and resumed campaign.
It would interest you to know that the money left with me after my election, I proceeded to all the joints in the two local governments of my constituency, to mobilise votes for the governor in my own little way and he won to the glory of God. (There are people who are ready to stand as witnesses).
The Governor started his administration and I went on with life. But one day, I was at the Ibadan North-East Local Government council when my late father’s Personal Assistant, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, called me on the phone, told me to hold on for the Governor. After exchanging pleasantries and congratulating him once again, the Governor requested for my CV. I told my late father and informed him about the decision. My mother and brother advised me against getting any appointment from the Governor but my father asked me to accept it.
Meanwhile, the Governor only included my name and the names of five others when members of the defunct ACN protested the non-inclusion of those who worked for the party’s success at the polls. The Governor had submitted names of people who were unknown to the party and loyalists of former Governor His Excellency, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
After screening and swearing in I was deployed to the Ministry of Youths and Sports where I tried my best to reposition the Ministry. To the glory of God, the Governor attested to how excellently I performed on different occasions. (Videos are available to back this fact up).
However, I don’t know how the profile of a Commissioner can dwarf that of his boss, as I know that any achievement of any appointee of a State Governor will be credited to the Governor but reverse was the case with Senator Ajimobi. Surprisingly, my travail in the hands of Governor Ajimobi became full-blown during an Executive Council Meeting, which I attended, when he opposed that the newly-created Youth Empowerment Scheme of Oyo State (YES-O) could not be under the Ministry of Youths and Sports, as it would make me too powerful. Ordinarily, the YES-O should have been under my supervision as Commissioner. But I took the position, though an indication of my Principal’s indignation towards me, and continued to do my job conscientiously.
The YES-O was later put under the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, an agency under my Ministry, but with a directive that the chairman of the Agency, Mr Gbenga Olayemi (A former loyalist of His Excellency) should not report to me but work with some Special Advisers to the Governor.
Sir, the most shockingly saddening experience in my relationship with the Governor came in October 2012, at the height of my father’s sickness. I had approached the Governor on a Thursday to seek his permission to travel to Lagos to check up on my ailing father. He told me that I did not need to seek permission to visit Baba Lam and that I should go ahead and extend his regards to him. With this encounter, I proceeded to visit Baba, only to return to work on Monday to meet a query from the Governor demanding explanation from me on why I absented myself from work on Friday. I responded to that query date 12th of October, 2012 stating how I had sought and got the Governor’s permission before embarking on the trip. I have attached a copy of the query and the response to this letter.
That experience, apart from being unnerving and unsettling in that I could be vilified for trying to care for my father, was, however, not the last in the series of disappointments I suffered in the hands of the Governor.
Prior to my wedding on February 22, 2014, I visited the Governor to inform him and his wife about my forthcoming wedding and they expressed happiness, promising to do everything possible in supporting me during the event. According to the Governor, being aware of the sour relationship between me and my darling mother, Alhaja Sarat Adesina, because of my support for and relationship with him, he had the moral obligation to take charge of the wedding. To this promise, I expressed my gratitude.
Unperturbed, however, I moved on but not without the scars of being let down by a man for whom I had so much respect and I had served with utmost loyalty.
In my seven years relationship with the Governor, I have heard it ever so often that the Governor made me through my appointment as Commissioner (Which I will eternally be grateful to him for). The Governor has also never failed to mention to anyone how he helped me by approving contracts from the Ministry of Youths and Sports without hassle, saying this had helped me to make money. Unfortunately, I have never said this to anyone, but the two biggest contracts approved for my Ministry: the construction of a Swimming Pool at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba and the Oyo State Youth and Entrepreneurship Job Fair for two years, were handled by companies/people that are well known to the Governor himself. The beneficiaries of those contracts and whatever huge sum the Governor tells the world he approved for me were Nurudeen Ajimobi, Olubodun Ajimobi and EZ37 Solutions. I did not benefit a dime from the projects and these beneficiaries are still alive to bear me witness.
My Father, the experiences that followed the ones already stated made it abundantly clear to me that I was in for a suffocating and humiliating relationship that would not end as long as I continued to be with the Governor, no matter the level of my loyalty. Knowing this, however, I never allowed my loyalty to wane; neither did I reduce my efficiency as a party man or an appointee of the Governor even when I was deployed to a Ministry that is considered a very dry land: Ministry of Industry, Applied Science and Technology. For the Governor, who openly expressed stiff opposition to the Youth Empowerment Scheme of Oyo State (YES-O) being under the Ministry of Youths and Sports because, according to him, it would make “Dapo too powerful,” he had ready-made excuses for my deployment to the new Ministry, noting that the deployment was to save me from being hurt by some imaginary powerful interests.
In the buildup to the 2015 General Election, after I had signified my intention to contest for the Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat, I was to suffer more untold humiliations and hardship in the hands of Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
First, the Governor had sent representatives to a former Deputy Governor in Oyo State, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, to bring Honourable Akeem Ige to him so as to give him the APC ticket for the House of Representatives in my constituency; the same constituency where I, as his commissioner, had informed the Governor of my intention to contest. I was to later learn that the Governor expressly said I could never win the election since I was unable to win when my father was alive and this would later explain his actions and inactions towards my ambition.
Baba Mi, it might interest you to know that as a Commissioner who just resigned from the government of Governor Ajimobi in 2014, I had to buy 24 bags of rice on credit from a woman Olanfat Enterprises in Beyerunka, Ibadan and later had to collect another four bags for distribution to the Wards/LG Exco in my constituency towards the primary election.
All these went on despite the Governor’s earlier assurance that I had his backing. The Governor neither called nor sought to know how my ambition went for once until a day to the APC Primary when Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle called me and said the Governor would like to talk to me. On that day, the Governor had merely asked me how the plans for my primaries was going. But saddened and let down, I said there was no problem, since I was already sure of victory, having done my home work. Alhaji Ibikunle was to later come to look for me on the campaign field at Ward 3 in Ibadan South East LGA around 10.30pm to ask why I didn’t make request for financial support from the Governor for money.
On the day of the APC primary, known supporters of the Governor openly opposed me. But after the voting had begun, a supporter of the Governor, the late Engr. R.O. Shittu came to me and said the Governor asked him and others to support me and I appreciated them. It would be worthy of note that most of the Governor’s supporters who openly opposed me did not change their minds till the end of the exercise. (There are also people who were involved and still alive as witnesses).
The next humiliation came after my resignation from the cabinet, when the Governor told the Commissioner of Police to send policemen after me to retrieve the official car I was using. This was despite the fact that it was the only car I had and I had informed the Governor that I had no other car to use for campaign/running around and he assured that there was no problem. The policemen in plain clothes, however, told me expressly that the instruction they had was to retrieve the car anywhere they found me but I pleaded with them that I would take the car to them immediately the next day. I have also attached a copy of the letter written to me to that effect.
After winning the 2015 election, I went to ask the Governor to give me someone from his camp to work with in Abuja, which he did. I did this to show him how much I revere him. But shortly after that, the Governor refused to acknowledge my text messages or answer my calls for two good years while he told the party executive in the state that I no longer contacted him.
On several occasions, I went to the Government House and his private residence at Oluyole to see him and would be made to sit for hours outside the gate but was never allowed to see the Governor. All messages/calls/visit had never been to make any request but to wish him well and pray for his success. (Sms are still available for reference on my phone which I have kept safely for that purpose)
Late 2017, the Governor invited me to his house at Oluyole for a discussion where he assured me that the caretaker chairman for Ibadan South Local Council Development Area would come from the Lamists Camp. I was elated and convinced that at last, the Lamists would be rewarded for their co-operation and support for the Governor. Surprisingly, the Governor gave the appointment to Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja’s loyalist (Fagunwa) after he had persuaded me to go to my local government to work seriously to contain the Ambassador Arapaja camp politically- this to me wasn’t fair enough!
In a similar vein, the Governor had invited me to his house in Abuja and gave me the assurance that a Lamist would be the council chairman in the same Local Government which happens to be Baba Lam’s. During that visit, the Governor told me Baba Lam made him and how he would not be ungrateful to him even in death by appointing a non-Lamist to head his home local government. In fact, days after the visit the Governor, myself and Two other House of Representatives Members from Oyo State were in the plane enroute to Ibadan when the Governor asked why I hadn’t appreciated him for picking a Lamist as the chairmanship candidate. Immediately, I unstrapped the seat belt and prostrated in appreciation.(One of the two members is also available to confirm my claims).
But I was dumbfounded to see that the Governor got to Ibadan and changed his mind by not only retaining the caretaker chairman as chairmanship candidate for the election but also changed all the other three under my constituency to people whom he knew were political opponents of mine. This was after we had reached a conclusion to give it to the Lamists in order to change the impression they have started nurturing that I was working against their progress, because it was believed that with my loyalty to the Governor, I could get them at least one LGA.
The governor thereafter changed the names of all known supporters of mine who had been on the list of councilors/Vice Chairmen.
On the 5th of May, 2018, at the Oyo State APC Secretariat, Ibadan, where the Ward Congress Committee from the National Level led by Alhaji Musa Halilu Ahmed, met with party stakeholders following the crisis over the planned Ward Congress, Governor Ajimobi openly pushed me while I was trying to pass by his side after the meeting. I was manhandled by two of his security aides in his presence. I had to force my way into his car when I started to shout that if anything untoward happens to me he should be held responsible to avoid being lynched by sponsored miscreants and thugs loyal to the Governor, who disrupted the meeting and broke into the Party Secretariat. My cap was removed and used to hit my head by thugs loyal to him. (Four witnesses are ready to speak if need be).
Your Excellency, as a strong follower and student of your style of politics, I have learnt from your leadership style that to whom much is given, much is expected. I have not only displayed the highest level of loyalty to the governor, I have demonstrated the kind of loyalty that portrayed me as a stubborn child to my parent and siblings, the same kind of loyalty that made my father give his unreserved affection to Governor Ajimobi. But it is pitiful that the Governor didn’t see this as an effort that should be acknowledged.
Your Excellency, it will interest you to know that seven years after Governor Ajimobi took over power in Oyo State and six years since the demise of my father and the leader of the Progressives in Oyo State, Alhaji Lam Adesina, not one edifice or project has been named after my father. Whereas, the Governor has named several projects after other individuals in the state, no effort has been made to immortalize my father.
I can pointedly tell you that Governor Ajimobi has been working tirelessly to pull down all structures put in place by my father, who in his old age, fought and worked exhaustively towards making Oyo State a stronghold of the Progressives. Baba Lam even with his ill health led others to the length and breadth of state to campaign for His Excellency ahead of the 2011 elections.
Sir, I have harboured these painful actions of the Governor towards me for years, hoping that he would change and in the interest of the party and the continued success of the Progressives fold in Oyo State and the South-West, a project that I know you hold dearly to your heart given your love for the people of the region. But seven years down the line, and with the ever so determined efforts of the Governor to erase the political footprints of my father by destroying his political structure, I believe it would only be a bastard that will continue to stay where his father is continually spited even in death.
I remember your comment about “Self Preservation” during my last visit to you in Abuja with Hon Sunday Adepoju, Wale Raji, Ayo Omidiran and others. Can I be preserved where my father’s legacy is being destroyed daily and where I have suffered this much? NO, Baba Mi.
These and many more were heavy burdens I had wanted to share with you when I had the opportunity to meet you, but extant realities would not permit me to do so, hence this letter. I appreciate the fatherly role you have always played in my life and I assure you of my continued and unwavering loyalty wherever I find myself in the not too distant future politically. But sir, knowing all I have expressed in this letter, I am convinced that you will agree with me that remaining in the Governor’s camp would be tantamount to me dancing on my late father’s grave. Like every rational man, it is my prayer that after I am gone, my children will continue to honour me and so, remaining with someone determined to dishonor my father and hell-bent on dismantling all the structures put in place by my late father cannot be an option.
Baba, may your children be greater than you, honour and uphold all the principles you believe in.
Your Son,
Adedapo Lam Adesina (MHR).
