@valengory1234 - Glad someone’s speculating with me! 😅 And I like your initial thought, too, that he might’ve been another villain from another family, perhaps in a better situation but not a completely different scenario from the Maddens. 🧐 I deffo want to meet more villains (and heroes) next season, and at least the season finale hints on making good on the promise with villains. c:

And an interesting second take. Not sure I would vote for a complete turn to good for him, but that’s partly bc I agree with you on how awful he was to use Hartley and partly bc I like reformed/gray villains. they’re just fun :3c

some Declan | Oculon thoughts

***discussion of the s1 finale jsyk***

The fam tuned in to watch the two-parter Friday night, and no one was disappointed. There were many laughs to be had, plenty things to cheer, and lots of things to debate/hypothesize as we head into s2.

But I got a little hung up on Oculon’s status, despite what my father, papa mew, said might be a little too deep for this show, *lol*.

I imagine a lot of us fans cheered when Oculon finally got vaporized, given everything he’s put both the Maddens and Hartley through (regardless of what/whether you ship). However, as the s1 finale went on, I found myself not super happy with that.

Why? Simple: Because Onyx brainwashed Colby.

How does that tie in with Oculon? Well, Colby being freshly brainwashed by Onyx was rather robotic and kind of a facsimile of a human. But, say, if Onyx had brainwashed Oculon a long time ago and/or repeatedly over the years...perhaps Oculon would’ve learned how to blend in with others, would’ve accepted the brainwashing as his new reality.

So what if Oculon wasn’t truly evil, just ordered to be so because of Onyx?

This is just really sticking with me and I can’t *not* think it, and I need to drag at least one other person into this with me, so thought I’d share, *lol*.
