Minato's Laundromat Ep. 10 Stray Thoughts
I do enjoy the casual rapport that exists between Akira and Asuka. Still, it is funny watching them have to insist constantly that nothing romantic is going on between them.
I'm going to miss Minato's shirts when this show ends.
I'm not sure what Japanese film crews are doing, but their shows are just consistently prettier on average. Maybe they have more experience with lighting and the particular lenses they're using, but it's distinctive.
The sort of paternalistic way Shuu shot down Asuka must have been so frustrating for Asuka, particularly because Shuu doesn't seem to experience must romantic or sexual attraction.
I like seeing Shintaro ask Sakuma-sensei how he sees Minato. On the one hand, Shin is likely relieved that Sakuma doesn't see Minato in a romantic way, and yet on the other hand he can empathize with Minato that the person he loves doesn't look at him the way he'd like. Still, it's even more frustrating because Sakuma holds Minato in such high regard that you can't be mad or resentful.
I like that the show had Sakurako get rejected by Shuu before Asuka, because this scene where the two rejected teens get together and discuss their feelings about Shuu lands better. It's also interesting how similar Shin and Sakurako are because they both immediately chose to help and encourage someone else to get together with the person who rejected them.
Using the little brother actor also as young Shin is still my favorite casting choice.
I really need to learn what this specific cricket sound is that we hear in Japanese dramas. It's almost like the Wilhelm scream in that I recognize it every time.
I don't think it can be overstated how powerful it is that everyone constantly receives each other's feelings with gentleness in this show. No one denies another person's feelings, especially when they're rejecting them. I love that Sakuma never made Minato feel bad about his feelings, and when Minato finally expressed them, he thanked Minato for his kind affection as he let him know he only ever saw him as a cherished student. I've been a teacher, and this is exactly how you redirect the feelings of your students. What they feel is real and should be treated in the way it is intended. This show is beautiful and kind in a way I wasn't exactly prepared for.
The gentle teasing about how passionate Minato's kiss was is a lovely gift from Sakuma. He's telling Minato that he never forgot, which can help Minato heal by knowing that in a way he wasn't alone.
Love the shot of Shin in the doorway with the rain in lamplight behind him. Gorgeous!
Hey, so I'm gonna lose it over the lens flare when Shin moves to hold Minato.
The rain beginning to let up after Minato let's Shin hold him? Now that's cinema.
Oh my the preview for next week seems like we're about to reach a culmination that will precipitate a time jump.
I love this show. Can't believe we get this much quality at once now.

I was a bit hesitant about watching Wash my Heart considering the fact that there is a 10 year age difference between them (one being underaged). I also did not know what to expect since I never read the manga, but it was handled with such pure delicateness and caution. Definitely up there with Old Fashioned Cupcake as one of the best "BL" shows to come out this year.

Minato's Laundromat - EP2
Who are you and what did you do with that cute sweet kid???
And suddenly Minato remembers he's not a teenager anymore. Good for him to stand his ground.
Unrelated to anything, but that is just wrong. His heels need to touch the ground.
Okaaaay boy, calm down! Wtf? It's only the 2nd episode!
DAMN, MORE DRAMA

Minato's Laundromat Ep 11 Stray Thoughts
As we head into the final stretch, Minato has cleared things with Sakuma. I am excited to see where we go in this penultimate episode.
I do love the simple joy and pride Minato takes in keeping the laundromat clean.
Minato's excitement about Akusa taking over the fish is also endearing. Seems like there's a lot of pressure to move up in society and not as much joy in maintaining.
I'm glad Asuka feels like he can talk to Minato about things that are weighing him down.
Shin's perpetual disdain for their interactions is so funny. "Why are you talking so passionately with Hanabusa?" and "Anyone staying near you in a two-meter radius is considered flirting with you." Also Asuka ain't shit for always teasing them.
Shin has an amazing smile. I'm going to miss it after next week.
Oh, Minato, did you just realize you agreed to a date with Shin by showing him around Tokyo?
Mmm, I don't know where Shuu and Asuka are headed. I like Asuka trying to connect to Shuu through architecture.
That's right Shin, you make sure he knows this is a date.
I feel like I need to see the Tokyo tower myself. There was a joke in Haikyuu about rural Japanese people not knowing what the Tokyo tower was and mistaking any tower for it
Thank you, queer-friendly civilian, for helping with this picture.
Thanks Asuka's tardiness and the power of Japanese mass transit, we will have to spend the night. I wonder if we'll get "there's only one bed?"
Minato's constant regard for proprietary really works for me, especially because Shin is always pushing against it while Asuka trolls.
Oh, Minato, please hold this poor boy's hand.
Hahahaha, Shin startling Minato was great.
Asuka knew exactly what he was doing by taking the bed Minato moved away. "It's okay to cross the line." The youths are in cahoots!!
"I forgot a towel." I'm sure you did, baby boy. Take your shots, Shin, but he's too honorable to cross that line.
Appreciating the way BL has maintained actor modesty why also letting characters flirt in overtly sexual ways.
Minato getting teary-eyed and agreeing to hold hands with Shin got me. Minato may be nervous about Shin's feelings, but he doesn't dismiss them.
Asuka is a real one for pretending to be asleep for that tender moment.
Ah, I'm glad Shin is the one to initiate a separation this time. Maybe he's seen that he can go no further with Minato at this time, and is saving Minato from having to push him away.
Ah, J-BL. It wouldn't be a finale if one of them didn't go running after the other. Very excited!
