“Well, I’m not sure what to say! Professionally, I don’t think Ed should b’ a State Alchemist so young, but my reasons are not based on his talents or knowledge. Him and Al are very capable, and intelligent. Personally? Al is very well mannered, and is definitely his brother’s foil and balance. ‘m sure I haven’t seen him at his worst, and who knows, he might be more vocal when he gets emotional if there wasn’t this calmness to him. Ed on the other hand... swears so much, I’ve thought about gettin’ him a swear jar. He’s loud, not just in his style, but in his personality. He’s got a fire inside that just drives him to do what he needs to do for his family, and that’s something to admire. Plus, he has ‘older sibling syndrome,’ which I also suffer from.”

“They’re good kids. Been through more than their fair share of heartache. They do what they have to, and keep movin’ along. They’re awfully nice to Mar, so they’re welcome in my home.”

CIS internship.

I choose to volunteer at Dudley High School because it reminded me so much of my high school. Its always been a passion of mine to teach history about myself and ethnicity to youth and adults. African American history is touched on lightly in public schools. When I found out that Dudley offered African-American History I immediately knew that this is where I belonged. Since I’ve started interacting in the classroom setting, I am picking up that students are getting worn out with the basic lessons on people of importance. Children are already taught the basic African American history in world history and social studies. I believe that since this is classed is strictly focused on African American history a more extensive in-depth lessons should be incorporated more. I came up with the idea that students should have a WDYR (What did you research) Friday. Every Friday each student will have 3 minutes to discuss a new fact, person, invention, literature, or anything African American related and why they think it is important.

Konan's eyes slid open slowly, staying half closed to adjustto the harsh light. Her gaze moved over to the voice and she blinked, confusedfor a moment before she placed the woman. Her head was pounding, pain justshort of a migraine and most likely held off by whatever was being fed into herarm by the IV beside her. The rest of her body ached too, and she wondered whatmess she'd gotten herself into. She was good at getting into messes, but atleast she usually remembered them. Her voice was dry and cracked when she spokeand she swallowed and licked her lips to try and steady her voice, words comingout in the only language she could process. "I…can't remember anything. What happened?"
