A few henna designs from today's event at Sacred Places ✨🌿✨ People often ask me about the significance of designs or the patterns I put on people. There are sometimes visions of things I see when I sit with someone but other times it's simply about letting the medicine of the henna soak into their skin. Every plant has a purpose, its medicine, and I've found time and time again that henna works wonderfully on people who struggle with their body image. Once the medicine of henna soaks into their skin it begins transforming their self belief. 🌿The henna hustle 🌿 "Get a henna. You'll love it." Ha ha... I laugh because it can be tough always trying to come up with interesting and creative ways to sell myself and my art. I love what I do, but if you want a certain lifestyle doing what you love you gotta work for it and get out of your comfort zone. More importantly do this while staying authentic!! I'm going on to 6 years of making a living through art. Henna has by far been my number one joy over the years. I went from doodling mandalas as self therapy, to discovering henna and realizing, (to my surprise) that people would pay me to doodle on them!!! Next thing I know I'm teaching art classes and getting hired to design cookie decorating classes!!! I didn't even know I was an artist 10 years ago, let alone that I could teach art!!! To put it simply, I followed my creative curiosity, until it became a passion and then built on it day by day. I've learned to have patience and trust that opportunities will come my way if I love what I do and put myself out there. Anyways, sending my appreciation out to you folks for following me, hiring me and loving my stuff. I'm blessed and glad to meet each of you along my path.
