Without fail every time she started to make huge leaps in her abilities, both physically and quirk wise. Her grandfather felt the need to quickly swoop in to squash it like an insignificant bug. Always too eager to remind her with his sharp venomous tongue just how it wouldn't be long until she failed, bringing everyone else down around her. Telling her to just give up this stupid dream of becoming a hero, how useless she and her quirk really were.

Would anything she did ever make him proud of her?

The following day she was doing her best to push his harsh words to the far corners of her mind, wanting to concentrate on her studies and training instead. Along with not worrying any of her classmates by acting differently than usual to burden them with something so insignificant. They all had their own personal demons they were dealing with by themselves and it wouldn't be fair to them to add hers into the mix too.

However... it seemed someone might've noticed she wasn't quite herself during the middle of a class training session. Making sure to have her full attention by placing a firm hand onto her shoulder before saying,

“   i  will  always  believe  in  you .   ”

Leia couldn't help but be caught by surprise by the sudden encouragement coming from Tetsutetsu. Did he realize she needed to hear that today, or did he just do these things without even realizing it?

He has always been genuine with his feelings and emotions since the very first day they had met, being so supportive to everyone around him whenever possible. Which she appreciated this way more than he'd ever know and hoped she did the same for him in return.

The imaginary bottle she did her best to keep closed to contain all of her insecure thoughts and personal burdens. Instantly burst open in the form of tears, welling up instantly in her eyes and soon running down her cheeks without her really registering it at first.

"T-Thank you Tetsutetsu... that... that means a lot to me" Although she was clearly crying with so many tears escaping from her eyes, a large smile was on her face. At least the best she could muster after getting so overwhelmed with emotion. "R-Right back at you too...! I'll always believe in you too"

Tetsu quickly moved in front of her in order to protect her from a villains oncoming attack as they had set their sights on her. Tetsu barely moved once he had been hit and stayed where he was, becoming a shield for her from the oncoming barrage of what appeared to be spears made out of shadows. Tetsu was so incredibly strong! Not just due to his steel quirk but his personality as well.

“no one will hurt you as long as I’m breathing.”

Her friend and classmate spoke, glancing back at her a moment with a large grin before focusing back on the villain ahead of them. Making sure to keep himself firmly planted on the spot to make sure she didn’t get hit once.

“T-Tetsutetsu...!” Leia reached out to gently touch his back in order to use her amplification quirk on his own. Wanting to give him an extra boost and use more of her own stamina than his own to continue on. He was protecting her after all and this was the only way she could return the favour.

“Happy Birthday, Leia!” Tetsu says cheerfully, handing over a small parcel wrapped in decorative rice paper with pressed leaves and flowers. Inside the small box beneath the wrapping was a blue, white, and green kumihimo bracelet. 

“One of my cousins learned how to braid these from her grandmother, who learned it from her grandmother, and so forth. Their family is known for their textile business and, well… You don’t see stuff like this that often. I hope that you like it, I asked for a design to made especially for you.”

“Thank you very much.” Leia beamed, carefully taking the small wrapped box he held out for her as she didn’t want to accidentally drop it as it was clear he put a lot of thought into it. This was just by the beautiful wrapping paper on the outside, which she carefully unwrapped next not wanting to ruin it.

Once the box was opened she saw a just as beautiful kumihimo bracelet sitting inside and she could feel her eyes filling with tears. It was such a pretty bracelet that had her signature colours on it.

“Tetsu…. this… this is so pretty thank you so much. I love it!” Normally she’d ask before touching someone, let alone invading their personal space, but he deserved the biggest hug for such a beautiful and thoughtful gift.

“Thank you so much it’s beautiful a-and tell your cousin they did an amazing job too.” She gave him one last tight squeeze before stepping back and wiping her eyes as she started to cry. “I-I’m going to wear this forever, thank you!”
