#tomorrow's my birthday and so far its already the best birthday ive had in years #yesterday my coworkers gave me a card and flowers and fresh farm eggs and starbucks #and i made plans to go for dinner w/ a coworker #then today in our weekly round up/check in? kinda #idk not important #weekly meeting w/ our staff and our students #they announced my birthday and suddenly instead of just some congratulations the whole zoom room started singing happy burthday ahfjjs #it was chaotic but like. really kinda touching #and then just a little bit ago one of the students called bc he's been having tech issues im trying to help him with #and towards the end he was like 'i told my mom it's your birthday do u want us to play the song on piano?' #and i was like 🥺 okay 🥺 #and so he and his mom played and it just felt so joyful and sincere and his mom was wishing me a happy birthday so kindly #like kinda grandmotherly ykno #and its just like.... i feel very celebrated ig #like ppl actually care abt my birthday and are excited for me #and i feel like i havent experienced that joy in a long time #sorry to be sappy on main but its juts. wild i dont really look forward to my birthday bc its always disappointing #if not downright depressing #but this year im feeling so much soncerity and support and care from the people around me and like. i. feel valued??? #its like a fuckin foreign concept im have value?????
