Lucca Comics 2021: gli annunci manga targati GOEN

E chiudiamo alla grande con un nuovo, sconcertante incubo a occhi aperti di Shuzo OSHIMI, l’autore di DENTRO MARI.

Anche questa volta Oshimi è stato in grado di creare un intreccio che diventa sempre più avvincente (e inquietante) ad ogni capitolo. In DRIFTING NET CAFÉ (Hyoryuu Net Cafe – 漂流ネットカフェ) il protagonista Koichi, si ritrova misteriosamente catapultato in uno strano mondo, distorto e pericoloso, proprio il giorno in cui la vita rilassata che ha condotto fino a quel momento era sul punto di cambiare con l’arrivo di un figlio. Riuscirà Koichi a salvare sé stesso e le altre persone che sono rimaste, come lui, intrappolate ai confini della realtà?

VIZ Media Licenses the Will I Be Single Forever? Manga

VIZ Media has announced that it has licensed Mari Okazaki’s Will I Be Single Forever? (Zutto Dokushin de Iru Tsumori?) manga. The publisher will release the manga digitally on July 24, 2018.

Okazaki launched the manga in Shodensha’s Feel Young magazine in November 2014, and ended it in October 2015. Shodensha published one compiled book volume for the manga.

And finally, a personal announcement! :) I am excited to say I was chosen as one of 9 finalists for the annual Manga Translation Battle! I translated “Zutto Dokushin de Iru Tsumori?” and you can read my submission/check out the contest here. (I’m the finalist named Emma~)

I haven’t won anything yet but there’s a small chance I could receive an offer to translate the entire manga and have it published if I do win! :O I’m crossing my fingers, but looking at the other finalists, everyone did a really great job so I feel like my chances are slim. I’m still shocked that I even made it this far considering I’ve never actually translated manga before (that I can remember?), not to mention I discovered the contest right before the deadline and completed my entry in about 6 hours :P There’s parts of my entry that I’m not quite satisfied with but in the end this is a great learning experience and a boost to my confidence as a translator \o/
