If you truly want to go traveling with your friends next year, a complete and thorough planning is absolutely needed for this trip to go hitch-free. I don't think having a "spontaneous itinerary" is going to benefit you at all. As a matter of fact, it might just make a lot of arguments about where to go and how to spend the budget amongst your friends. All of you need to sit down and figure out where you want to go, where you want to eat, what the budget limitation is (both individually and as a group), and buy the necessary attraction site tickets ahead of time.
