So... people are aware that the new MCR symbol isn’t just a regular cross right?

It really closely resembles the Templar Cross, which was used by the Templar knights, which was a Catholic milita group. So I decided to do some more research to build on what I already know and pose some possible theories/connections to everything.

First, the Templar Cross is supposed to be a symbol of martyrdom, which I think fits into Gerard’s whole martyr/Joan of Arc/Sent from God complex. This is obviously pretty weak but I found some more interesting stuff

On Friday, Ocotober the 13th, (yes, a Friday the 13th in October), 1307, King Philip IV called for the arrest of a large group of French Templar knights. The reason for the arrest was that God was not pleased with them. The Templar knights were accused and suspected of “[being] forced to spit on the Cross, deny Christ, and engage in indecent kissing; brethren were also accused of worshipping idols, and the order was said to have encouraged homosexual practices.”

So, there’s a lot to unpack there. The aesthetic that MCR has presented so far is very witchy, occult, etc. so it would make sense for them to use the cross that belongs to a group that literally started the Friday the 13th superstition, worshiped idols, as well as participating in homosexuality.

What I think is even more interesting is that in this article, it states that these knights that were arrested were worshipping Baphomet (or a severed head, but let’s focus on Baphoment). Baphomet is a goat figure that represents Satan. This really stuck out to me because of the Offering video MCR posted.

I’m not an expert in anthropology, and the skull in the video could very well be some sort of dog, but the long snout reminds me of an animal in the deer/goat/ram family. So maybe the connection I’m seeing here is how the Templar knights worshiped Baphomet compares to the goat-like skull used in the My Chem video.

And do you guys want to know how these knights were tried? They were burned at the stake. Which ALSO plays in to My Chem’s witch aesthetic, and Gerard’s whole Joan of Arc thing.

Last note is the cloaks that’s MCR was wearing in the video. I know everyone wore capes back then but when the Templar knights were in the Crusades, that was essentially the uniform they wore. The placement of the cross on the back of the cloak is very similar to how the Templar knights wore them.

So...

This theory is purely for fun, I’m not saying this is canon at all. Please don’t go into the comments and start ripping me apart. If you want to, you can voice your ideas, give me some outside perspective, I would love that. Everything gets blurred after 2 and a half hours of work so if any grammatical errors pop up, please forgive me. Also: if anything even close to this has already been posted please tell me and I will take this down immediately, I do not want to unintentionally steal anyone’s work. So, without further ado, here’s an MCR theory that’s not about the reunion, just in case you wanted a break from the cryptic bullshit. (Kinda).

So, my friend @mama-we-all-go-to-theblackparade​  and I were freaking out and they brought this up:

 This means DD and BP are in the same universe, which has already kinda been established. After she said that, something clicked. Everything started to make sense. What if BP happens after DD? If you think about it, BP is just one big ol’ funeral party anyway. What if BP is where the killjoys went after they died? What if BP is where the Phoenix Witch took them?

For those of you who don’t know, there is a comic book series that Gerard made which is a continuation of the Danger Days saga. This gives us a closer look at the culture of the killjoy world, and introduces us to two figures; the Phoenix Witch, a spirit who guides the souls of the ghosted to the afterlife, and Destroya, a savior how will return to Battery city to free the citizens. If you do read the comics, just know that it’s almost as bad as F*rest, so make sure you have tissues. (Those of you who don’t know what F*rest is either it’s really sad do not look it up for Lord’s sake.) 

Here’s what I think the sequence of videos is:

I’m not ok- Everyday life while BLI was taking over, and the four were the only ones who really noticed.

Helena- Helena dies and she becomes the Phoenix Witch. I know it’s a stretch, but there’s more. The Phoenix Witch is also Mother War. So, Helena becomes the leader of the black parade in the afterlife and goes to guide souls to her black parade.

Ghost of You- Helena’s death causes the Helium wars. I like to think that Ghost is an analogy and Mikey didn’t actually die, but that’s just me. (Spoilers) Mikey represents the girl’s mom who had supposedly died.

I don’t love you- Gee realizes what BLI has done and wants to keep the revolution going. He doesn’t love BLI like he did yesterday

Blood- He tells other people what BLI did, killing innocents, hence “Blood”

Teenagers- Gathering the army. ‘Teenagers scare the living shit outta me” Not out of Gee, but BLI.

Desolation Row- leading the revolt and having to leave Battery city.

The DD saga takes place, and the four die, yadda yadda, we know the story. Phoenix Witch takes them into the afterlife.

Famous Last Words- Well, yeah. You can tell. The white hair is because BLI cut it off after they killed him. This is the afterlife,

Black Parade- GIANT-ASS FUNERAL PARTY. The four take over the black parade and greet the other killjoys that the Phoenix Witch brings.

That’s about it, and I may or may not have written this while listening to every snowflake is different.
