  “Running“the executive" tables now...” he said as if updating max on his facts. in that moment’s pause, Christopher held unwavering eye-contact. “goes for 5 g’s upfront just to sit in...” Christopher proceeded to pour a scotch on-the-rocks before getting his point across. “this isn’t a game for you.” he gave an expression that implied he was getting at the whole ‘you understand, right?’ undertone. with that, he slid the tumbler in offering. “appreciate the offer though.

Even in a well-connected position, endless obstacles presented in the exchange. Christopher had to deal with Capos giving him minimal amounts of shit. Some resented him for coming off as having things too easy. Yes, certain things were handed to him, but not without efforts that were produced from his part. Loyalty and willingness to go the extra mile had served a major contribution to the Royale hotel’s underground operations. This was a fact. His Father and Uncle knew it damn well. But then, there were others. Like Max. The guy who challenged him in ways that were entirely different from small-scale bullshit. When dealing with Max, Christopher truly experienced situations that prompted a new shape of character. He was learning his own individual way of handling the parts of this life that were rough around the edges, to the point he was left to his own devices in handling. Though Max presented as a threat, Christopher couldn’t help but thrive off the competitive drive it fueled. Staying on his toes, with every intention of coming out on top. Whatever it takes.

The lounge was a hot spot, Max spent a lot of his downtime there in spite of Christopher’s frustration. It was clear junior mafia didn’t like him; not after his daddy hired him. It was only a month ago when Max tried to pull a heist on the hotel but was caught by a few armed guards. Mr. Lombardi could have called the police but he didn’t. He made Max pay him back and when he saw his potential, he hired him and gave him a place to stay. That was more than anyone else has ever done for him. After two years in lockup, Max lost everything. His house, his friends, his girlfriend. He was tired of losing everything and was going to make sure Christopher doesn’t get in his way. Max has one more big job. He’s going to steal Chris’s birthright. Spotted in the lounge, Max crossed the barroom and blocked Christopher off from avoiding him. Max saw him with his ex and he was interested in what he knows about her. But instead of being upfront about it, he decided to make the primary topic about something else. “When’s the next card game? I want in. Unless you’re afraid of me taking even more off you?”

At this point, lies were all she knew how to tell. The further she got away from the truth, the easier her life had become in the process. Chris was a friend, – a good one at that quite frankly, and if he were anybody else she probably would have admitted to whatever he was now insinuating. But instead, she played the fool. Letting the implication go directly over her head. “You would know,” she teased, smirking behind the rim of her glass, now neatly pressed to her lips. It was more convenient to shift the focus onto him rather than be at the forefront of it herself. “It’s almost noon and I’m still hungover so I’m not even sure I know what you’re implying anymore. What’dya say? – Vodka soda? C’mon, don’t make me drink alone.” She extended the glass in her hand, which she barely took a sip of. She desperately needed someone to get on her level and who better than the royal prince himself? 

  Touche. He couldn’t help but crack a smile. “Yeah, but I’m allowed.” he boasted without a hint of shame; in a only half-joking way. Most people in his line of work would’ve seen her offense as a defense mechanism, which should’ve been his cue to cut the line. But instead, he chose to take the bait. It was one of Christopher’s many downfalls– especially in the art of interrogation, and getting the facts straight. That was something his Father knew how to charm through. His Uncle, even better – a no-nonsense guy who wreaked havoc on anyone who didn’t answer his demands. Guys up in the ranks didn’t play, but it wasn’t in Christopher’s nature to be all cut-and-dry. He was too playful when it came to people he deemed ‘innocent’. His friendship with Celia clearly played the bias factor, and he only had himself to blame for allowing this conversation to take a smooth turnover.

 “eh...” he demonstrated his faux-hesitation. despite his at-ease with her dodging notions, chris’s participation would certainly come at the cost of an ultimatum. fun-loving or not, the guy was still pompous and challenging In his own right. “day drinking’s kind of a big thing to ask of a guy. you know, giving up the rest of my day...?” a brow rose, “vodka at noon’s only worth the fun you get out of it. so,” he leaned in with either arm crossed on top of the bar, “whatd’ya got?”

essentially, this is war, and christopher  wants to become more actively involved.

from a young age, christopher was hand-picked and groomed to assist his father as his right-hand. despite his esteemed position in the ranks as JDM’s eldest son/ his job title has been considerably “unofficial”.  this was mainly due to the early age he began to learn the game. As he continued to age, it was clear that no one showed loyalty to THE KING like Christopher, and his father knew it. In the passing years, it’s without question that his father trusts his son more than anyone else in the organization. He’s known as an exclusive "soldier”, especially because of all the “sensitive” jobs JDM has entrusted to him only. The Father and Son have built a long, established agreement that Christopher would work towards the end goal as JDM’s future successor .

Still in his “glorified soldier” rank, thinks he’s ready to officially move up but there are certain recognitions that he hasn’t been given by his Father yet.

 From a young age, Christopher Lombardi has been hand-picked and groomed by his Father so he could grow into the role as his father’s “right hand” — and one day, the future successor who takes over the Royale Hotel, himself. Christopher is/has been significantly active with the Lombardi-Italians alliance.  Though this is a recognized position within the ranks of Miami Beach’s crime scene, Christopher’s prominence is mainly known within the circle, and by some occasional “wannabe-associates”. Christopher is considered an untouchable because of his well-connected status and reputation for fierce loyalty to the Don and JDM. Christopher is also the youngest soldier, but exclusively handles sensitive assignments that are ONLY entrusted to him. 

Christopher handles the grimier side of Miami Beach nightlife: the guy who pays off the cops, arranges escorts for well-heeled guests, catering to players in the high-stakes cabana poker game. running the hotel’s ground game, and other miscellaneous tasks that require the finesse of doing business, and obtaining information that JDM can rely on staying off the record.

Christopher quickly adapted to this life, and continues to remain levelheaded in this fast-paced atmosphere. He has proved to be easy, and natural in the dark waters of this life. He currently struggles with taking a step back from the much more important situations that require one to strategically thinking ahead with precision. His flirtatious nature has made it easy in the department of sexual endeavors. His influential abilities of persuasion and gregarious energy has made it easy to establish business deals, and connections. He’s used to getting what he wants if he puts his mind to it, on top of maintaining a certain dominance without having to obtain by force or aggression. Christopher can talk his way out of things, even when he messes up a bit. He’s a smooth operator, and certainly can’t complain. “a second break four hours into shift— that kinda work ethic...” christopher faked his enthusiasm,”one for the champs.” his observation expressed this as a statement; even-toned, yet sarcastic.  christopher didn’t believe in direct confrontation. it was always more effective to let the other person know he was aware, than to cut the losses. he playfully extended a pointed look, and it was obvious that he knew something was up.
