He had an accent, which interested her. Studying abroad, then. That sounded thrilling to her.
"Oh, I'm not a professional or anything," she laughs gently. "This is just an old family recipe I'm trying to get my supervisor to add to the menu. She said if enough people tried it and liked it, she would. So far... nobody has." Her smile dimmed a bit, but she shrugged. Some of them had merely smelled it or taken a sip before taking off. It was a shame that some people were so shallow they would rather miss out on handmade treats than tolerate a plain girl's appearance.
She gathers some of the ladyfingers in a small bag to lay on the counter and began making the drink. Marilyn barely has to look at what she was doing thanks to years of training in her aunt's kitchen and her grandfather's lab alike, gracefully preparing the latte and flitting about the tiny barista bar like a dancer, quietly humming along to the 1960s girl group song playing on her radio.
While the coffee brewed and the milk steamed, she looks over the young man in front of the register. He was different from most of the boys here with sun-kissed skin like hers and fades or undercut hair, a walking sea of khakis and plaid button downs. She admired that someone at least cared enough about their skin to keep it deathly white, and envied him a little for it. He seemed kinder than most of the other boys, too.
Marilyn poured the brew- now looking somewhat murky- in a paper cup and slipped on a sleeve, setting it before him and tapping a few keys on the register.
"That'll be $4.30," she smiled at him again, and decided to make more conversation. "What are you majoring in, if you don't mind me asking?"
Whatever is wafting through the air has caught somebody's attention.
"What kind of coffee is that?"
@r-hart can't help being curious.
"ᴀ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʏʟᴠᴀɴɪᴀɴ brew!" She answers cheerfully from the cafeteria counter, stirring some sugar into her cup. "Extra dark roast coffee beans ground under a full moon, with enough espresso to make the dead. Oh, and syrup made from a few special herbs imported from the homeland."
An idea comes to her. "Wouldn't you like a cup? I make a pretty good latte, and I've got some cookies made to go with it."
Even if it was her job as a part-time barista in the campus cafe to be welcoming and make fresh coffee and treats, she takes after her aunt in the inherent delight she feels in offering food and drink to people. The Munster family prized hospitality and would grow distressed to see any visitor uncomfortable in their cozy abode, and that value carried on into Marilyn's occupation. And what could make anyone more comfortable than homemade refreshments?

aside from your name/alias, your pronouns, and your age... you don't need to document every fundamental detail about yourself on your blog. you don't need to spill every secret or document every minor detail about your life, your health, or your situation. if something is crucial to your portrayal, or you feel something needs to be established for the sake of your comfort/safety... that's different. otherwise... stop oversharing. don't give out your real name, last name, location, or your job. there are people out there with bad intentions and you are making it so much easier for them to cause problems. protect yourself. i don't care if 'stranger danger' sounds juvenile to you now - it's still a thing, and some people in the rpc are far too comfortable dispensing information about themselves to people they don't know.

I love crossovers, shipping is cool, and am open to most other franchises, but especially horror and horror-comedy. you are enough. there's only one you and there will always be people who will love you just for you who are. you will have your own personal spin on a character, have them be influenced by your own thoughts and experiences, and breathe life into them in a way that no one else can. and that alone is something to feel proud of because that is something no one can take from you.
