Tumblr media
(Y/n) was awoken by the sound of a baby cooing through the speaker of the baby monitor she placed on her nightstand. Groaning as she fought sleepiness, she sat up to check the time – which was already 8 a.m. – before dragging her feet towards the nursery, where the coo was gradually becoming louder. She slowly opened the door, making sure to not startle the woken guest, and walked towards the wooden cot. As she approached it, the baby, who was laying on a light blue mattress with tiny yellow duck prints, looked up and smiled, to which his mother return one.
“Good morning,” she greeted softly, earning another coo from the infant. “Are you ready for another day?” She reached in to unzip the grey baby blanket, revealing a white onesie with a print of an elephant carrying a peanut with the caption “little peanut” at the bottom. With one hand cradling the back of his neck and another on his bum, she brought the baby up to her chest, letting him rest on her shoulder as she left the room to do his daily care. Once he was taken care of, she placed him inside a hanging baby hammock with his favourite fox plush before going off start her day.
As soon as she stepped out of her room after changing into a new set of clothes, she heard the door unlocked, followed by someone stepping into the apartment and said, “I’m home!”
(Y/n) rushed to the door and hugged the man as she said, “Welcome home.” The couple shared a hug before she pulled away to look at him in the eyes. “How was work?”
“Pretty tiring,” he replied while handing his bag to her, to which she willingly took as he bent down to take off his shoes. “But we managed to complete our ninth album on time. What about you? Have you started a new story?”
(Y/n) shrugged. “Well,” she began. “I’ve been busy taking care of our little prince to even think of a storyline.”
Before the GazettE’s guitarist Aoi met (Y/n), she was a famous author known for her collection of short horror stories “(Book title)”, which became an international bestseller translated into many languages. Many directors approached her for its film adaptation, but despite what everyone told her, obstinate (Y/n) declined every one of those offers. From there, she released one dystopian novel and a fantasy trilogy, both became as popular as her debut work. Despite rejecting multiple film adaptation offers, she was still laughing to the bank thanks to her success.
Now, one would certainly think, “How on earth did a young author with much versatility in her works meet a guitarist from a once small visual kei band that’s now growing internationally?”
It all started when (Y/n) was having a book signing for her novel “(Title)” in Books Kinokuniya Tokyo. Reita, who was a huge fan of her work, heard of the event and wanted to have his copy autographed badly. But with his busy schedule in the way, he felt that there was no way he could attend the event, so he sadly forewent it in the end.
However, his crestfallen expression didn’t escape Aoi, and the latter didn’t like that look. As a friend and a bandmate, he didn’t want something like their work stop the bassist from doing something else. To boot, the latter’s birthday was just around the corner, and the day of the signing was on the same day as their photoshoot for their sixth studio album “Division”, so this was the right opportunity for him to do something for his friend and colleague; whether it was coincidence or not.
It was late at night when the band had finished their photoshoot. Aoi left unnoticed and hopped onto his bike, making his way towards Takashimaya Shibuya where he parked the vehicle outside and went into the building. As he made his way towards the bookstore, he saw the queue was starting to get shorter. The guitarist joined the crowd, making him the last one in the line. When it was his turn, he took out a notebook and flipped to an empty page before handing it to the seemingly tired author.
“Just left work?” she asked with a friendly smile.
“Yeah,” he replied, courteously returning one. “My friend couldn’t make it, so I thought I’d get your signature on his behalf.”
“That’s really nice of you,” she commented before bringing the notebook closer to her. “So what would you like me to write for your friend?”
Aoi took a moment to think before replying, “Maybe wish him a happy birthday?”
With the black Sharpie in her hand, (Y/n) wrote her wish to the man named Reita and then left her signature at the bottom. As he watched her wrote, he couldn’t help but glance at her a few times, taking in her appearance. Although she was tired after spending hours sitting behind the desk and signing probably at least a hundred times, he sorted of found her attractive. Maybe it was her dulcet tone that complemented her, making her sound appealing to him. He could see why she had a lot of male fans going after her, judging by the various comments he saw on her social media.
After getting what he wanted, he thanked her with a bow before going home. He neatly ripped out the page she signed on – being very, very careful not to tear any parts of the paper – and put it in a glass frame. He then placed the picture frame into a small cardboard box and closed it, wrapping the whole thing with a white wrapping paper that had gold “Happy birthday” written all over. He stared at his work triumphantly before going to bed with a smile.
When Reita’s birthday came, Aoi gave him the gift, and the bassist couldn’t stop marvelling at (Y/n)’s beautiful handwriting, to quote the latter. Seeing that he was contented with the gift, Aoi decided to take to Twitter and privately send the author a message to thank her for giving him her signature. Honestly, he didn’t expect her to reply, for he thought that judging by how successful she was, there was no way she was going to see that message. But lo and behold, she did and even replied. From there, they got to know more about each other and eventually went out for a meal, then they started dating for a good five years until he decided to pop the question; the rest was history.
Of course, Reita was jealous that his friend got to marry his celebrity crush, but nevertheless, he gave them their blessing.
“I’m sure you’ll think of something,” assured Aoi, who looked up and ruffled her hair with his free hand. After placing his shoes at the side, he put on a pair of house slippers before going into the apartment. “Now where is our little prince?” As if on cue, the baby cooed from the living room. Aoi went in and saw the hanging hammock gently bouncing up and down. He looked in to see the infant, who was now wearing another white onesie that said “Daddy’s drinking buddy” with a print of a milk bottle in the middle, smiling at him with one hand gripping on the orange fox plush.
“Hello,” greeted the father, earning another coo from the child. “How are you? Have you been good to Mama while I was gone? I hope you haven’t forgotten that I’m Papa.” All the baby could do was coo once more.
“He has been a good boy all this while,” said (Y/n), who returned to the living room after putting his bag in his studio. “He’s been sleeping throughout the night, and only cries when he’s tired or hungry or need a diaper change.”
“Is that so?” responded the man, who reached in to bring the baby to his chest and began swaying gently. “What can I say? He’s our son. Oh, yeah. The guys are planning to come over this Saturday. Is it alright with you, or do you prefer another time?”
“I don’t mind this weekend,” assured (Y/n). “I miss their company. It’s always nice to have them around. I actually enjoy watching them play with (son’s name).”
“Do you remember how awkward Kai was with (son’s name)?” asked Aoi.
His wife chuckled at the memory, saying, “Oh, yes. I remembered that he was so uncertain of how to carry a baby that he didn’t even want to because he was afraid that he’ll drop (son’s name). But we can’t really blame him for that. He is a single child, so I think he had less experience with younger kids. Anyway, I plan to cook breakfast. Would you like some?”
“Yeah,” he replied. “That’ll be nice. Has the little prince eaten?”
“Yes, he has.” was (Y/n)’s reply before going into the kitchen, leaving him to have a father-and-son bonding session in the living room.
Aoi watched his wife’s disappearing figure as he thought about his life up ‘til now. He never thought someone like would ever finally settle down with a wife who stuck by his side through many ups and downs in their relationship, nor did he ever thought of having a son who was just as beautiful. He had a beautiful family, great friends he could happily work with as a band, supportive fans that helped them a lot in their career; he felt like his life was complete.
“I don’t need a lot of things,” he said to his son, who was staring at him with wonder. “As long as I have the people I love in my life, anywhere is home to me.”

Music of My Heart (Ruki)
Tumblr media
Wearing a black fluffy robe, (Y/n) sat on the brown sofa tapping on her white Huawei Mate 10 encased in a pink and blue marble rubber case, typing out a caption for a photo taken just moments ago. It was a picture taken by one of the roadies, where she faced the camera with the rest of the thousands of audience members. Everyone posed for the picture, each of them with a smile and a hand signs like a peace or rock on sign.
After doing a little adjustment on the filters, she logged in to Instagram and typed:
“It’s a wrap! Thank you for an unforgettable evening, Osaka! It was a wonderful way to end the Asia Tour. Tonight, I could feel your that resonated in the whole building. Listening to you sing along made my heart melt because I didn’t expect my music to reach you. I hope to visit you guys more in the future. Until we meet again! ❤️”
She typed the Japanese translation of the text below before uploading the photo on her social media accounts. As her phone kept buzzing from the notifications that informed her of the number of likes and comments the photo got, she went off to change into a new set of clothing before beginning to pack up with the others.
It was the last day of her Asia tour, where (Y/n) performed for millions of spectators. She did the final show in Kyocera Dome Osaka that evening, where she performed in front of at least 50,000 people. No words could describe how she felt; how she started from a young naïve girl who just stood and sang for her small audience, to an international star who wrote and perform her own songs in front of a larger one.
Finally came to the time when she had bid her team goodbye. After shaking hands and hugging each of them, thanking them for their hard work for making the tour a huge success, she boarded the black Honda Accord Sedan with her manager before it drove off to her hotel.
With her manager talking on the phone on her future activities, (Y/n) was scrolling through the comment section, liking the positive ones and ignoring the opposite, until one written in Japanese caught her attention.
ruki_nilduenilun Meanwhile, I’m stuck on the other side of the world and can’t go home to you and our furry babies. 😢
A loving smile stretched across (Y/n)’s face as she typed,
(username) @ruki_nilduenilun Be patient, my darling. Maybe we can celebrate our successes with a nice day out when you come home. 😊
While puffing on his e-cigarette, Ruki smiled at the comment and typed,
ruki_nilduenilun @(username) That sounds nice. Wait for me, then. 😉
Dating another artist can be a challenge, especially when both of them were equally famous and had busy schedules to accommodate their fame. But Ruki expected this the moment he asked to be (Y/n)’s partner, and look at where they are now – four years and still going strong.
He closed the Instagram app and stared at his home screen wallpaper, which was a selfie he took with her on their fourth anniversary in Akita, where they went “onsen hopping” on a beautiful Autumn when the Japanese maple leaves blended with the green landscape with their reds, yellows and oranges. It was after a nice bath they took in the outdoor onsen, and on the way back to their room, Ruki suggested to take a selfie with the beautiful scenery in the background. Right before his thumb contacted the shutter, (Y/n) decided to turn her head and peck him on the cheek, creating a nice shade of red that spread across his cheeks. It was a lovely day to celebrate their love for each other.
If one were to ask how the power couple met, they wouldn’t be hearing the typical “love at first sight” story. They met when Ruki was in search of a female singer who could do the background vocals for the band’s single “Undying”. But it wasn’t easy. One recording after another, he still wasn’t satisfied with the results and kept scouting despite the deadline. But when he heard (Y/n)’s new song “Song title”, he was enamoured by her voice. Besides the wide range of octaves and an amazing head voice, her voice was reminded him of melted rich chocolate; a sensual and beautiful tone that gave him goosebumps right when she sang the first word. He loved that voice so much that he needed it in this song. So he immediately told his manager to contact hers and send out the invitation. From there, after working with her on one song and another, every else became history.
Of course, the whole world got a huge surprise when they found out about their relationship; and do take note there was a considerably large age gap between the couple. It all started when the paparazzi caught them walking out of Gion Roiro, a high-end restaurant in the heart of Kyoto. They weren’t holding hands, and instead walked side by side each wearing a coat to protect themselves from the cool night breeze of Spring and a white face mask. Speculations were all over the internet which resulted in two sides of the argument – one side said they were dating while another said they weren’t and were merely friends (based on the number of selfies they uploaded after each recording session). Unfortunately for many fans, their hearts were broken when the band vocalist spilt the beans on their second anniversary. It was a bumpy ride for the two as they had to fight off the negative comments that flooded each other’s social media; but eventually, their relationship grew stronger with each passing time, and the comments gradually died down, albeit a few naughty ones that managed to pop out.
“We’re here,” announced the driver.
(Y/n) snapped out of her thoughts and looked up to see that they’d arrived at the Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel. She and her manager unloaded their things before thanking the driver and entering the building. They took the elevator up to the floor where their rooms were, and each of them went to their respective rooms. By the time the door locked behind her, (Y/n) immediately hit for a warm shower, brushed her teeth, blew dry her hair, did her daily skincare routine, and finally went to bed wearing her pyjamas. Lights were dimly lit, giving the room a relaxed ambience.
Suddenly, the famous intro of Luna Sea’s “Gravity” went off in the quiet room. (Y/n) forced herself to get up and attend the call, which came from her lover. A smile flickered across her face instantly, and she picked up the call.
“Miss me?” she teased.
“Obviously,” he replied with equal playfulness. “How was the tour?”
“It was amazing!” (Y/n) walked back to her bed and sat down. “I get to learn new cultures in different countries, and even picked up bits of different languages. I ate so much that I think I’ve added an extra kilo or two!”
Ruki chuckled before saying, “I bet you did. No wonder you looked rounder in your recent pictures.”
“Hey!” she playfully whined, pouting for a short while before joining him. “Anyway, how was yours?”
After taking a puff on his e-cigarette – apparently, as she heard him release some smoke on the other line – he said, “Pretty fun, too. I’ll tell you all the stories when I get back. I need to save the best for last, you know.”
“Of course,” she responded. Afterwards, it went silent. Although she wasn’t physically there, (Y/n) could tell that he had something on his mind, and he was having second thoughts if he should say it to her. She knew better than to pry, but somewhere deep inside her heart, it might be important. So she decided to bite the bullet by blurting, “Ruki*, do you have something on your mind?”
The said man kept quiet for a while before a small smile was etched on his face. She knows me too well, he thought. “I was actually thinking about our relationship,” he confessed. “Honestly, I’ve never felt so comfortable in my life, nor did I ever think I would fall in love again. Even though we’ve been together for more than four years, I find myself falling for you all over again. Heck, I don’t know how you do it! But I’m not complaining, because every moment is a new experience for me, and I like how it made me feel young. I know I seldom profess my love for you, but I just hope that you know that I do. I really do.”
(Y/n) could feel tears welling up in her eyes, for she felt so much of genuineness from him. She knew that he wasn’t one to openly profess his love through the common phrase, “I love you.” She didn’t mind, because the things that he did showed her that he truly loved her, like taking care of her when she was sick, giving her advice and comfort she needed, or even attempt to cook something for her; it was these little things that she cherished and appreciated, and there was nothing more she could ever ask for.
“I do,” she finally responded with so much of tenderness. “And I feel the same way, my darling. Even as the wheel of time continues to turn, I will still love every part of you as we age together, until the very end.”
Ruki was about to take another puff of his e-cigarette but he paused, allowing her words to resonate inside his head. Never in his life had he ever thought such words would warm his heart. It sounded comforting, and to him, it felt like home. During the time when he was Ruki the vocalist of the GazettE, he strived to be better than how he was previously; so by the time he went to her, he could feel like he’d his best and would want to share his passion with her, to which she willingly listened. Whether it was an exciting or dull experience, or even a petty argument he had with his bandmates, she would listen and be there when he needed comfort.
“I think it’s getting late over there,” he suddenly said when he took note of the time, even though he was in Los Angeles. “I don’t wanna hog your beauty sleep any longer. Not that I’m saying you’re not beautiful, that is.”
(Y/n) laughed at the last bit. “Of course,” she said. “And I wouldn’t want to hog up your time for rehearsal.”
Smiling, he said, “Have a good night’s sleep, (Y/n).”
“And have a great day ahead,” was her response before hanging up to call it a day.
It was already 2.15 a.m., but (Y/n) found it hard to sleep, as she laid still on her bed staring at the ceiling in the dark. With so many things going through her head, there was no way she could get her beauty sleep, to quote Ruki. And these thoughts weren’t about work or so; it was about her relationship with Ruki, as well as the things he said to her just a few hours ago. She had to get these thoughts off her mind, and so, she decided to sit up. Switching on the lights, she went over to her bag and dug out a dusty rose velvet notebook and a Pilot G2 Black Gel Pen. She went over to the round table and sat on the white leather office chair, switching on the desk lamp. She opened the notebook, flipping through her handwritten lyrics, until she reached a blank page where she clicked her pen and began writing, starting with “Music of My Heart” as the title.
*I would’ve used his real name here, but I’m still not too sure if “Takanori” is the one. So just to be safe, I still used his stage name.

The New Roadie (Uruha)
Tumblr media
“Hey, (Y/n)! Can you bring me an A string? This one just snapped.”
“Sure!”
“(Y/n), I need your help over here!”
“Okay!”
“(Y/n)! Can you grab some coffee for me?”
“Yes, sir!”
Uruha’s bandmates watched the scenario with mild amusement, occasionally blinking owlishly as they watched the girl walk in and out of the green room. This became something they’d been seeing almost every day. With the commencement of their first tour, everyone was working hard; and that includes the new roadie (Y/n).
It all started when the management thought it would be a good idea to hire some roadies, seeing that they were lacking some manpower for the upcoming tours, especially when plans regarding the world tour were still in progress. They began scouting for volunteers, and in less than a week, their inbox was flooded with hundreds of applications. But after narrowing down the applications, they’d only accepted a total of fifteen roadies.
(Y/n) was part of the crew. Not long she moved to Tokyo, where her once laidback lifestyle became as hectic as the busy citizens hastily walking along the famous, busiest crossing of the heart of Tokyo. Had she knew that cost of living was going to be higher than what she was used to in her hometown, she wouldn’t have happened to be in need of a part-time job to earn a little extra. She was desperate enough to consider working at a fast food restaurant like Sukiya or Matsuya, but another part of her felt that such an odd job wouldn’t give her the opportunity she deserved. She craved something more than taking orders from customers or scanning the barcodes of groceries and totalling up the price.
“Why not work as a roadie?” suggested her friend, one day. The two girls were sitting inside Genki Sushi having lunch.
“A roadie?” she repeated dubiously. “Where did that idea come from?”
“I know someone who works in a record label called HERESY Inc.,” began (Friend’s name). She whipped out a black iPhone 6 protected by a cyan silicone case and unlocked it. She began to dig up the information she needed to share while scrolling through a chat feed. “Apparently, a band named the GazettE is recruiting some roadies for their tours.”
“What do I have to do?” inquired (Y/n), who was now interested in the job.
“I’m not too sure,” replied her friend. “But I’ll forward the link so you can have a look if you're interested. Generally, you travel with them on tour and handle every part of the concert productions.” Once the link was sent, she put down her phone and picked up her chopsticks to continue eating the remaining sushi on their plates. “I think it's a good choice for you since you’ve been complaining about the jobs offered around here. And I think it’s good for you to broaden your network. You may never know who you’re going to meet.”
If only they knew of such foreshadow.
Fast forward to almost a fortnight since she applied and was accepted for the job. Here she was going up and down the venue carrying out her tasks, whether it was bringing an extra towel or a bottle of water, unloading the equipment, or on some occasions, she had to help out with the makeup and costumes. Though she knew what she was signing up for, she didn’t expect this amount of tedious work, but she couldn’t complain about it; not that she had anything to complain about.
After a while, (Y/n) returned to the green room with a cup of steaming hot coffee. “Here you go,” she said, passing the paper cup to the guitarist. “Be careful. It’s hot.”
He accepted the drink and smiled, saying, “Good work, (Y/n). You can go and have a rest now. I’ll call you back in about fifteen minutes.”
“Thank you,” With a bow, (Y/n) left for her break, not noticing his gaze fixated on her retreating figure while he sipped the hot latte.
His bandmates were watching the whole scene from the side and finally decided to step in. “Okay,” called Aoi. “What was that all about, loverboy?”
“What do you mean?” questioned Uruha.
Ruki sat on the sofa and crossed his arms over his chest. “Don’t think your lovey-dovey look can escape us,” he said with a teasing smirk. “We’ve been noticing that you keep bossing the new roadie around ever since she got here. What’s up with that?”
“What are you trying to imply?” responded the guitarist with a tone that he didn't seem to realise it confirmed what his bandmates were suspecting.
“Ah-ha!” exclaimed Reita excitedly, pointing at his friend with his index finger. “I hear denial coming from you! So you were trying to get cosy with the new roadie.”
“Not to mention,” continued the grinning Kai, who was enjoying the confrontation a little too much than what he planned. “You even requested to have her assigned to you as a personal assistant.”
“We know you’ve had eyes on her for a while now,” added Ruki, whose smirk hadn’t faltered even a slight. “And among the five of us, you’ve been talking to her an unusual amount for someone you met for less than two weeks.”
Uruha felt his face became hotter. Was he really blushing at this point? Was he really having a crush on the new, young roadie? Maybe his bandmates were right, now that he thought about it.
When (Y/n) joined them on their NINTH PHASE #03 tour, he was somewhat drawn to her. It was weird, considering the fact that he knew her for less than ten minutes at that time, and he couldn't pinpoint what made him attracted to her. Maybe it was that youthful exuberance, or the air of elegance that seemingly shrouded her. Whatever it was, she definitely caught his attention.
His mind was occupied by these questions that he realised neither the cup of coffee that had been cooled down nor the guitarist inspecting his face up close.
“He’s blushing,” he noted in a playful manner, making Uruha snap out of his thoughts. “So our guess is correct, then.”
The latter merely sighed, sipping the rest of the coffee before turning to leave the room. “Think whatever pleases you,” he said, giving in. “Just don't do anything funny.”
Unfortunately, he didn’t catch their smirks, nor did he hear someone murmur, “No promises.”
After a series of successful live shows in Tokyo and Fukuoka, it was time for the band to proceed to Fukuoka. Just like their previous shows, everyone worked hard to deliver the best show for the band’s adoring fans. Fortunately, the hours of rehearsal paid off, for the live show was just as good as their previous ones. Everyone was happy and had lots of fun during the show.
(Y/n) was packing up her belongings when she heard someone call her name, making her look up to see the leader of the band smiling, showing his prominent dimples.
“Kai-san,” she greeted back with a smile. She let go of her bag to stand straight and face him properly. “Is there anything you’d like me to help you with?”
“Oh, no!” he assured. “Actually, we were thinking of going out for dinner and decided to invite you. Wanna join us?”
(Y/n)’s smile widened. “Sure!” she replied. “Let me get the rest of my things.”
“Okay!” was Kai’s response before leaving her to continue what she was doing. Unfortunately for dear little (Y/n), she didn’t see the drummer turning to the rest of the bandmates - excluding one particular guitarist - and whispered, “Mission, started!”
Later that night, (Y/n) was standing outside the venue dressed in a dark blue coat and a white beanie keeping her head warm. It was a cold February night, not even those pieces of clothing could keep her warm.
I knew it was a bad idea to not wear another shirt, she thought. A sudden gush of cold wind blew, making her shiver.
Just then, she felt something warm wrapped around her neck, prompting her to look up and see a concerned Uruha holding a red scarf.
“Take care,” he advised. “We wouldn’t want you to fall sick while still on tour.”
(Y/n) merely blushed, and it wasn’t just the wool scarf that gave her a bit of warmth. “Thank you,” she said meekly. But it didn’t take long for her to realise that she was alone with him. “Um, where are the others?”
Uruha kept silent for a short while before replying, “They suddenly said they couldn’t join.”
“What happened?” she asked worriedly. “Did they become sick?”
“Apparently,” was all he could say. But if he could heave a huge sigh, he would. He should’ve known they dare to invite him and (Y/n) for dinner separately, and then go missing once they meet.
What are they? he thought. A bunch of high school boys?
“That’s a shame,” said (Y/n), sighing.
Uruha glanced at the girl, taking in her appearance as he thought about what his bandmates said. Maybe he did have a crush on her. If that was true, then this might be a blessing in disguise. Think about it. He would have the chance to get to know her better without having anyone interfering them.
Taking in a deep breath, he blurted, “Well, we can just go and have dinner ourselves. If you don’t mind, that is.”
(Y/n) looked up with surprise, and Uruha swore he could see her cheeks turned a darker shade of red. “S-Sure!” she stammered.
So off they went for a nice dinner at Motsunabe Yamanaka Honten, where they get to know each other better over a steaming pot of motsunabe that warmed their bodies on a winter night; from their backgrounds to interests to future plans. They learn about things they never knew, and this night allowed them to get closer to each other.
It was also at that moment when Uruha realised why he was attracted to her. No matter the job, she constantly strived to challenge herself into learning new things and doing better than when she first attempted; and she didn’t complain about anything. He wanted to see more of the passion that lit her eyes when she did her work. He liked how he shared her experience with her friends with excitement instead of dread. Perhaps that was why he made her get the things he could’ve gotten them himself so that he could ask her more about how her day went, hoping that she would reply in the same enthusiasm.
Soon, the night was over with some laughter over a bottle of warm sake. After paying the bill, Uruha walked her back all the way to her hotel room. Standing in front of the room door, she turned around to look at him and said, “Thank you for dinner, Uruha-san. It was nice to know you more.”
“You’re welcome,” he assured, although he didn’t expect to blurt out the next sentence. “I hope we can do this more in the future.”
(Y/n) raised a brow, as a red blush tinted her cheeks. “Well,” she began shyly. “I wouldn’t mind.”
Uruha looked at her with surprise. He thought he would lose his chance when he said that last sentence, but she actually took his offer. Could this night get any better?
“I’ll see you in the morning,” she said, snapping him out of his thoughts to see that she had already unlocked her room door.
“Yeah!” was his initial response. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight,” she responded with a smile, walking into the room and shutting the door behind her.
Is she the one for him? He wouldn’t know just yet, but with the way things were, he felt contented to take things slow and steady. A goofy smile plastered on his face, and he began to make his way back to his room, where he found his bandmates - who somehow managed to sneak into his room - waiting to interrogate him.
This is going to be a long night, he thought with an inward sigh. But hey! He had to thank his mischievous friends for it.

The Art of Attraction (Reita)
Tumblr media
Reita arrived at the entrance of Chatei Hatou, and stood in front of it while staring ahead, with his left hand was shoved into one of the pockets of his black jeans, while the other hand was carrying a paper bag. Despite wearing a black cap and a white face mask to hide his true appearance behind the heavy makeup he often put on for the cameras, one could easily tell that he was nervous; and that word itself understated what he was feeling at that moment.
When he was visiting a bookshop to grab a book for him to read during the long Japan tour, his attention was diverted towards the little section where a pile of “(Book title)” was displayed. Out of curiosity, he picked up one and read its short description printed on the back. At that moment, he knew he had to get a copy for himself, and he didn’t regret a single yen.
Throughout the tour, he found himself picking up the book and reading it when he had nothing to do in his hotel room. He hadn’t read such a page-turner in a while, and it was refreshing; the plot was interesting and suspenseful, the character development was gradual and interesting without making any drastic changes that challenged the characters. But what attracted Reita the most was the author’s language used throughout the story. It may had the right amount of bombastic words and description without leaving readers feel bored or disconnect from the story, but there was something about the way the author conjure up the image with her words that attracted him; and he couldn’t tell how and why.
After finishing the book in about three days, Reita decided to drop by a nearby bookshop to purchase more of (Y/n)’s books, even though she had only four works published, including the recent best-seller. Let it be during shooting, rehearsals or soundchecks; he’d carry one of her books wherever he went, sit in a small corner away from the noise and crowd, and begin flipping through the pages as his eyes scanned every line written on each side of the papers. The more he read her books, the more he began to wanting to know more about the author, for not only her stories were interesting and challenging the readers’ perception on certain issues, the way she put her words together and the usage of certain vocabularies intrigued him.
Of course, the bassist’s odd behaviour didn’t go unnoticed by the other band members. As if sitting in his little corner and reading some novels wasn’t odd enough, he would even decline their offer to hang out after performing and preferred to stay in his hotel room to read. Even if he did hang out with them, instead of joining in the conversation, he spent most of his time scrolling through the Twitter and Instagram feeds of none other than (Y/n), according to Uruha who caught this from his peripheral vision when he sat next to his friend.
It was clear to the band members that he was interested in the author, and they decided that he should at least meet her and get to know her more. Reita thought it was ridiculous to do so, for he thought that (Y/n) might be busy with other matters and would have less time meeting up with some random stranger. But did that stop them from their antics? Well, needless to say, he was barely pleased when they told him what they had done.
“You sent an e-mail to her?” he repeated with much disbelief and anger. “What if she rejects me?”
“It’s not that bad.” shrugged Ruki after taking a puff of his e-cigarette. “Besides, what’s life without a little gamble?”
“Face reality, Reita.” advised Aoi. “You wouldn’t know until she responds.”
The said man kept quiet and took in what his friends said. They were right. It would do him no good if he just continue stalking her social media profiles. If he wanted to get to know more about her and meet her in person, then someone had to make the first step.
“You’re right, guys.” he admitted with a small smile. Just when he was about to leave the green room, he abruptly stopped and turned around before asking, “By the way, how did you get my e-mail password?” But they didn’t respond as they averted their attention to something else, pretending to not hear him. At that note, Reita knew the answer. “You guys were spying on me, weren’t you?” All he got were the murmurs of his friends among themselves.
Much to his surprise, (Y/) responded his e-mail by saying that she agreed to meet him. Using the phone number she had sent him to contact her, he sent her a personal message on where and when they should meet. And finally, a week after the last day of their tour, he was standing in front of the cafe trying to calm himself down before meeting the woman he was infatuated with.
Okay, thought Reita while taking a deep breath. You can do this. Just walk up to her, introduce yourself, take a seat, and talk to her after giving her the present. And don’t rush things!
He glanced at his watch, watching the second hand move until the minute hand struck “12″, followed by the hour hand that moved to “1″, telling him that it came the time for him to meet (Y/n). Taking a deep breath, he walked into the cafe where the waiter welcomed him.
“Table for one?” he asked politely.
“No,” replied the customer while looking around for any signs of the writer. “Actually, I’m meeting someone.”
“Oh, are you meeting Ms. (L/n)?” asked the waiter, to which Reita responded with a nod. The former smiled at him before gesturing his customer to follow him. “This way, please.” Reita wordlessly followed the waiter into the cafe, where aroma of freshly brewed coffee was hanging in the air, accompanied by the soft chatters of other customers, who were either friends, colleagues or lovers. After a few seconds, the waiter arrived at a table located in the far corner of the room, holding his hand out towards it. “Here is your table.”
After nodding at the waiter as a way to thank him, Reita walked up to it and merely stared at the woman he had been thinking about for so long. (Y/n) looked up from her phone and smiled at him, which, as clique as it sounded, struck a cord in his heart. “You must be Reita.” she stated while standing from her seat when he took a few steps closer to him before bowing. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“T-The pleasure is all mine.” he stammered with a curt bow before taking a seat across her, just in time for another waiter to arrive at their table and take their orders. Oh, boy! His dream of meeting his celebrity crush came true all thanks to his mischievous band members. Even just sitting across her felt so surreal to him. But now that he was there, he’s afraid of screwing the whole thing up. What if he accidentally said something bad? What if he intended to crack a joke which wouldn’t be funny? What if- No, now’s not the time to have doubts about himself. The remainder to be himself kept ringing in his head. If she didn’t accept him the way he was, then she’s not meant for him. Simple as that. And he would put that to the test.
Once the waiter walked away, Reita lifted up the paper bag and handed it to her, who was surprised by his action. “This is for you.” he said.
“Oh, thank you.” said (Y/n) shyly while receiving the present from him. “May I?” Once he gave her a nod, she removed the tape to open the paper bag, and was even more surprised when she saw what was inside. Her hand reached in to take out the white velvet box, and opened it to reveal a Stirling silver bracelet with small (birth stones), followed by a charm of a heart. “It’s beautiful.” She then looked at him in the eyes with guilt across her face. “But it must be expensive, and I didn’t prepare a gift for you.”
“It’s alright.” he assured with a wave of his hand. “I bought it because I wanted to. Here, let me help you with that.” Seeing that he was willing to help her put on the bracelet, (Y/n) handed it to him before raising her wrist, allowing him to buckle the bracelet.
She stared at the bracelet one more time before looking at him, and said, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” he responded humbly, but he was proud of himself that she was happy with the gift. It may not be one of the most luxuriously expensive bracelets in the market, but the price he paid was worthy of the quality.
“So, Reita.” began (Y/n) after putting away the box and placing the paper bag on the floor. “I only know you as the bassist of the GazettE. Could you tell me more about yourself?”
That became the trigger for him to tell her about himself; his background, his hobbies, the types of books he read, the bands and artists who influenced him. When their cakes and coffee had arrived, it was her turn to talk about herself. Needless to say, Reita realised that she was his type - womanly, mature, and was good in using her language with much sophistication and elegance. It wasn’t about the level of politeness she portrayed when she spoke. To him, it was as if she spoke of poetry so naturally with the choice of words that not even women of her age would use during conversation. There were times when she surprised him by laughing at his jokes that his own band members find them lame, and her laughter was contagious enough to make him join in.
“Oh, look at the time!” gasped (Y/n) suddenly when she glanced at the wall clock in the cafe. “I’m afraid it’s time for us to part ways.”
Reita’s face fell upon hearing that. With each passing time, he was beginning to be attracted to the author, and wanted to spend more time with her. Not because she was the author of the books he admired, but because he was genuinely interested in her. But the main question was, “Can we do this again?”
It seemed that he had accidentally blurted out what he was thinking, because she looked back at him with a warm smile and said, “Of course we can. I enjoy your company very much, and look forward to have another date with you.”
The very word “date” sent him to cloud nine; it meant that she, too, felt the same way and would like to meet him again in the future. Where would this lead to; he wouldn’t know. But he needn’t be worried about that, for they had begun making arrangements for the next meeting.

Je t’aime (Kai)
Tumblr media
During lunch time, Kai was sitting around a dining table with his other band members but was hardly paying attention to the food in front of him. You see, he was too busy thinking about (Y/n), a beautiful woman who worked as a producer. Due to her talent, she would be invited to go to different companies to help many artists with their recording, and recently, she had been helping the GazettE a lot. The band members, and the staff, became good friends with her, but the drummer thought otherwise, as he started to feel like a little school boy who’s crushing on a pretty girl.
“Earth to Leader-san!” Kai snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Reita, the band’s bassist, shouting at him to grab his attention. He looked around, noticing the members’ worried looks.
“What’s the matter?” asked the band’s vocalist, Ruki. “You haven’t been eating, and you’ve been poking the poor chicken for the last ten minutes.”
“Oh, it’s nothing!” said Kai reassuringly with a grin as he turned back to his food. “I just feel a little sick.”
“You mean, you’re feeling a little love sick.” teased Aoi, to which Kai rolled his eyes as he dug into your noodles.
“We’re not stupid, Kai.” chuckled Uruha. “We’ve seen you gawking at the pretty producer with a googly eyes whenever she comes, and you have this dreamy expression on your face even if she isn’t around.”
“You don’t look happy today, though, Kai.” Aoi pointed out with concern. “Is something wrong?”
Kai sighed before saying with a half-hearted smile, “As much as I hate to admit this, I think you may be right about me being “love” sick, Aoi. I’m tired of keeping my feelings for (Y/n)-chan bottled up inside me because it’s getting pretty hard for me to act natural around her.”
“I see.” said Ruki before he cocked her head to the side as he thought of an idea. “Why don’t you tell her how you feel about her?”
“I could never do that!” answered Kai as he shook his head. “I’d be too scared to do that.”
“Then how about telling her that you like her in French?” suggested Aoi.
“French?” The band leader questioned. “How did that come about?”
“Oh, yeah!” exclaimed Reita, as if he finally remembered something. “I heard that she’s fluent in French, so it might impress her, and if you speak to her in a different language, you may not feel that nervous.”
“I see.” Kai gave him a tiny smile before he realised something important. “But I don’t actually know any French.”
“Just use Google Translate.” suggested Ruki after sipping his coffee.
The drummer rolled his eyes. “Yeah, right. As if that’s gonna help me.”
“It’s still better than nothing!” argued Aoi before holding his hand up to him. “Now, where’s that phone of yours?”
“What?” Kai blinked at him before sighing in frustration, taking out his phone and opened the Google Translate app. “Now, what?”
“Now, you learn.” was Uruha’s reply.
A week later, (Y/n) was helping to edit one of the recorded songs when she heard a knock on the door.
“Enter!” she called, allowing her colleague to enter the room.
“Is something going on between you and Kai-san, (Y/n)?” he asked curiously as he sauntered into the room and took a seat next hers.
“No.” she answered as she turned to look at him, puzzled by his question. “Why?”
“I was passing by the break room, and I heard him repeatedly saying your name, and he also seemed to be saying something in a foreign language.” he explained. “The rest of the guys seemed to be correcting him after every sentence or so, as if he was going to do a speech for a French embassador.”
“What?” she asked, looking up at her colleague after dropping her pen in shock. “A-Are you sure you heard him saying my name?”
“Yup.” He nodded with conviction. “And he sounded pretty engaged with whatever he was doing.”
“I see.” murmured (Y/n) before sitting back in her chair, more confused than  before. I wonder what does Kai-san want to say to me? she wondered. As curiosity got the best of her, she stood from her chair. “I have some business to attend to, so you can finish up the rest?”
“Sure!” he said with a curt nod. “See you later!”
The walk to the break room seemed agonisingly long to (Y/n) but she knew that it was worth it when she paused in front of the door and giggled softly as she heard what Kai was saying, which made her blush.
“(Y/n), j'ai des sentiments pour toi, et je voudrais être- Argh!” he exclaimed, and she pictured him ruffling his hair in frustration.
“You’re almost there, Leader-san.” said Reita.
“Yeah, you gotta man up if you wanna tell (Y/n) how you feel.” teased Uruha.
“And what would that be?” came a familiar voice from behind them once the door was opened.
The five inhaled sharply, and the poor drummer dropped the tiny piece of paper in panic as he saw (Y/n) leaning against the doorframe with a playful smile on her face. His eyes hastily darted towards the paper on the floor but before he could even move an inch, Ruki was quick to grab it before he could and whistled, pretending that nothing happened.
“Well, seems like we’re for today!” said Aoi as he made his way to the door. “Come on, guys! Let’s go home!”
“Yeah!” said Ruki, Reita and Uruha before leaving the two behind.
“Well?” (Y/n) finally enquired after few minutes of silence.
“Well?” repeated Kai as he looked up at her after staring at the floor as if it was the most interesting thing.
“What were you going to tell me?” she asked as she took a step closer to him.
"U-Um...” he stammered before letting out a sigh. “Okay...” Clearing his throat, he said, “J'ai des sentiments pour toi, et je voudrais être plus que des amis. J-Je t'aime, (Y/n). Veux-tu être m-ma petite amie? (I have feelings for you, and I would like to be more than friends. I love you, (Y/n). Will you be my girlfriend?)”
Kai had kept his eyes shut whilst speaking as he was too scared to look at (Y/n), who was blushing and felt her heart melting as she looked at his nervous form.
“Kai, look at me.” she said gently.
The said man gulped in uneasiness before slowly opening his eyes and the beauty of the sight in front of him nearly took his breath away. (Y/n) was looking at him with her usual beautiful smile on her face, and her (e/c) eyes were looking at him with an emotion he’d never expected – affection.
“You should speak French more often, Kai.” she complimented with a giggle.
“Why?” he asked curiously.
“It sounds... sexy.” was her shy reply.
Noticing her flustered expression, Kai chuckled before stepping closer to her, bending down and closing the distance between them with a fervent kiss, feeling the anxiety he’d been experiencing for the last few days disappear as she wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss with equal enthusiasm. He couldn’t resist smiling against her lips as he heard her moan softly when she felt him bringing her closer to him, finding his actions so overwhelming that she felt her knees buckle, and might have fallen if Kai hadn’t wrapped his arms around her waist. But she pulled away and rested her forehead against his, allowing his warm breath to tickle her face.
“Kai, je t’aime aussi. (I love you too.)” she whispered alluringly, sending shivers down his spine.
“Finally!” cheered a voice from behind the two.
(Y/n) found herself turning a deep shade of red in embarrassment as she noticed the rest of the GazettE members and staffs cheering. Ruki and Aoi secretly took photos of them, making sure they didn’t show the couples’ faces, and posted them on their social media, which immediately gained a lot of attention.
“So when’s the wedding?” questioned Reita teasingly.
The couples looked at each other and laughed before Kai said, “Someday.”
*A/N: I literally copied the translation from Google Translate and pasted it here, so to those who understand French, I apologize! u.u Anyway, hope you like it! :)

Dream? (Ruki)
Tumblr media
He was tired. Dead tired.
Having a world tour wasn’t easy for the band, and it had taken a toll on him. It felt like the routine was repeated during the stays at foreign countries; wake up, have interviews, get ready for the concert, go back to the hotel room. Sometimes, if they were lucky, they’d have the chance to be tourists temporarily and explore. But most of the time, they don’t.
As much as he enjoyed it, all Ruki wanted was to go home and lay on his comfortable bed. He was fed up with having the constant emptiness inside of him whenever he returned to his hotel room. People might think the band and the staff members would have parties after live concerts, but it was the exact opposite. Concerts after concerts, he would be worn out, and just wanted to lie in bed.
It was the final concert on the last day of the world tour. He went backstage after the encore and went straight for the couch. The band’s bassist, Reita chuckled at him.
“Can’t wait to go home, eh?“ he asked, teasingly.
“No shit, Sherlock.” was his reply as he lit up a cigarette.
“Hold your horses, we’ll be home soon by tomorrow. And you’ll be back in (Y/n)’s arms again.“
(Y/n), his muse, his angel, his soulmate; he didn’t know what to call her. He still remembered how he met her, which happened to be in the studio where they discussed about the album cover design. At first, he was infatuated with her ideas and, mainly, her beauty. But as the two of them continued meeting each other, he was attracted to her and fell in love with her. She wasn’t judgmental, and accepted his flaws, for who he was. She supported him in both his career and personal life. She was optimistic, gentle, kind, motherly and intelligent.
Confessing to (Y/n) was a huge challenge for him. Firstly, he had to go through the constant tease from his band mates and staff members, including his manager, surprisingly. Secondly, both her father and brother were very protective of her. He still remembered them glaring daggers at him the moment he stepped into her house. And thirdly, how would the fans react? But in the end, after giving himself a little push, he confessed; and she accepted with glee.
Throughout the four years of their relationship, they went through the ups and downs together, both pushing each other forward and evolved to become better people. Ruki, not once in his life, had this kind of relationship. It was odd, at first, thinking they would do what normal couples would do. But she was different, and bit by bit, he became comfortable.
The fans? Some of them were against their relationship, but majority supported them. To say he wasn’t surprised when fans cosplayed as him and his girlfriend would be a lie. Even the fans befriended and chatted with (Y/n), treating as a normal human being.
She was the one, he would always say to himself. His band mates would notice the change in his personality and agreed with his statement.
The following late night, the plane landed in Tokyo safely. Like everyone else, Ruki went through security check and collected his luggage. After bidding his bandmates and staff members goodbye, he took a cab and went straight to the apartment he shared with (Y/n) and Koron. But sleepiness managed to take over his conscience. As soon as he entered the dark apartment, Koron greeted him before he went straight to the shower and changed into his pajamas. His feet dragged him towards his bed and he immediately dozed off once his head was on the pillow.
He felt the morning sunlight shone on his face through the window. Slowly opening his eyes, the first thing he saw was a beautiful woman sitting at the edge of his bed and smiling at him.
“This is a dream.” he muttered.
It was hard to believe that he was finally home after being away for more than two months. But it was harder when he kept dreaming of her every night and woke up to see that he was alone.
The woman just leaned down and softly said, “Then it is a good dream.“
She gently kissed his lips, and he gladly kissed back. Ruki tucked a stray hair behind her ear and gently caressed her cheek. (Y/n) slowly pulled away from him and swept his hair from his face.
“Sleep. You need more rest.” Giving another peck on his nose, she stood on her feet and walked out of his room, letting him go back to sleep.
Later in the early afternoon, Ruki was awake. He did his daily morning routine and went to the dining room to have his brunch. He was about to sit down when he saw (Y/n) sitting at the balcony with a drawing block. Her hand motion said that she was sketching. Koron just laid by her feet and slept. Ruki smiled at the scene and slowly walked to the balcony, wrapping his arms around her from behind.
“It’s hard to believe that I’m finally home.“ he whispered lovingly into her ears.
(Y/n) turned her head and smiled. “Why do you say so?“
He let go of her and leaned against the railing. “Countless nights, I would dream of you. But when I woke up, you disappeared. I don’t want that to happen.“
His lover’s smile dropped a little. Putting away her drawing block and pencil, she stood and walked towards him, allowing him to wrap his arms around her waist. The two of them stared into each others eyes as she said, “Whether it was a dream or not, I’m still here, by your side. You may be alone, but you are not lonely.”
“(Y/n)...” He was about to continue when she gently placed a finger over his lips.
“I understand. You are a vocalist who travels around with a band to perform at different places, and I am a designer who just sits in a studio and do nothing but design. We may be from different walks of life, but I love you for you. So you needn’t to be guilty for leaving me behind, alone.“
Ruki had no words to thank her. All he did was look into her eyes and smiled. They leaned in and shared another passionate kiss, but only to be interrupted by Koron barking for attention.
(A/N: What do you think? Let me know, okay? :])
