Well, Coin was a manipulative individual and she was aiming for personal gain when it came to the revolution and what easier way to get there than with angry souls like Gale, to be used as pawns to get her checkmate.

Sure the bombs were Gale’s idea, but Coin was the one to execute the idea and Prim, unfortunately was collateral damage.

It’s 2024 and people are still blaming Gale for Prims death…

What about Beetee, who actually made the bomb? I don’t hear any one blaming him. You shouldn’t, but he’s more responsible than Gale is. What about Plutarch, who was the one who actually dropped the second bomb that killed Prim, assuming everything Snow said was correct. And of course, what about Coin, who gave the order to send medics, drop the bombs, and made sure Prim (A 13 year old child) was sent to an active war zone. The decision of the attack also happened when Gale, Katniss, and the rest of Star Squad 451 had no communication with the rebels, right after Gale was captured by Peacekeepers. He was in no way, shape or form, able to order a bombing at the Capital, nor would he have any idea Coin was about to bomb a bunch of kids and their own medics.

The only two people who should be held accountable for the deaths of the Capital Plaza are Coin and Plutarch. I love Gale, he’s not perfect and has his flaws, but he is not a child murder and he did not kill Prim. That’s all.

There are so many moments in the series where I just absolutely despise Gale but nothing will ever compare to when he says this That was the one thing I had going for me. Taking care of your family," he says I mean seriously prim is dead and all he could think to say is oh well I'm sad now because now there's no chance you'll be with me even though there was never much of a chance before like seriously this is the man you want katniss to end up with a man who we'll make prims death all about himself over Peeta who after all he has been through he comes back to district 12 and plants primrose and is there for katniss and comforting and supporting her through her trauma

I’ve read Catching Fire the most in the series, and there are a whopping 0 quotes of Gale doing this. Here’s what the text actually says: “He (Gale) only has his Sundays off, and I think he likes saving for you (Katniss)” and Katniss says “Hunting with Gale is still the best part of my week”. If Gale was blaming Katniss for the games, I don’t think he’d be trying his hardest to spend time for her, and I also doubt Katniss would be happy with him constantly blaming her. But wait! Hunting with Gale is still her best part of her week.

I will never understand people who are team Gale. And it's not because he killed the prim because I don't that was his fault it's because of how much of a shity friend he was the katniss. I mean think about it for a second imagine going through the most traumatic experience of your life being forced to kill people and almost dying. And then come back to your best friend and he's like why did you kiss someone even though it was for your survival cuz that is what Gale rest of series. He is making kind of feel bad about being with Peeta even though it was for on survival. And that's why Peter is better because he actually realize that kind of did what she had to do to survive and he has no grudge against her and he's willing to be her friend and be there for andwant her to be happy even though it's not with him.

You’re argument is that Gale is a bad friend because he ‘blamed’ Katniss for what she did to survive the games. I’ve read Catching Fire the most in the series, and there are a whopping 0 quotes of Gale doing this. Here’s what the text actually says: “He (Gale) only has his Sundays off, and I think he likes saving for you (Katniss)” and Katniss says “Hunting with Gale is still the best part of my week”. If Gale was blaming Katniss for the games, I don’t think he’d be trying his hardest to spend time for her, and I also doubt Katniss would be happy with him constantly blaming her. But wait! Hunting with Gale is still her best part of her week.

Now you’re other argument is that Peeta did not blame Katniss for doing the love act for survival. But, didn’t Peeta literally refuse to interact with Katniss leading up to the victory tour. You can make the argument he apologized, but that’s all the proof I need to show that Peeta DID blame her for the games.

Listen, you don’t have to ship Everthorne. That’s fine! I’m not forcing you too! But please do it based on actually canon. Whether you like it or not, Katniss was thinking about Gale from when she was planning to meet him before the reaping, and right to the end when she hoped he would magically appear next to her on the rock.

Also sorry for spamming but I wanna hear your thoughts on this one bc your my fav Everthrone/Galeniss blog, so my two favorite lines in the books are "I call him my friend, but in the last year it's seemed too casual of a word for what Gale is to me" and "Gale is mine. I am his. Anything else is unthinkable." Like. What. Sorry. What. WHAT? Tell me when she has ever felt so strong about Peeta. And I don't mean just because of the survival habit and the mindsets "I owe him for the bread" and "If I'm near him, I'll survive"

No worries!! I loved coming to tumblr to see this ask, keep ‘em coming! But back to the question, I like you, absolutely love those lines of Katniss. I think it’s sad how many fans ignore just how vital Gale was to Katniss’s happiness, and alternately, how supportive Gale was to her. I’m pretty sure Katniss says in Mockingjay that she knows Gales love for her is unconditional (bc it is) And even if people don’t ship Katniss and Gale (which also is completely valid!) I wish they could realize Gale is her best friend! He took care of her family, risked his life to save Peeta and helped with his hijacking, and pretty much always supported her decisions, even if he didn’t fully agree.

Gale knows I chose him over Peeta when I didn’t make a run for it… But since I don’t plan on making it back alive a second time, the sooner Gale lets me go, the better. I do plan on saying one or two things to him after the reaping, when we’re allowed an hour for good-byes. To let Gale know how essential he’s been to me all these years. How much better my life has been for knowing him. For loving him, even if it’s only in the limited way that I can manage.

But I never get the chance.

hunger games fans that say with zero irony that gale caused 100% of katniss’ suffering, that he purposely killed prim, and has no reason whatsoever to be traumatised make me want to claw my own skin off.
