Thank goodness for bullet train/THSR (my first time everrrr), it made our trip so easy! I often get questions from comments/DMs on how to do flourishing. Basically, you can flourish any letter but you have to mind first the composition of your overall text. Sounds technical but it's helpful if you don't skip layouting the words to have its balanced look. Otherwise, your message might end up just a pile of swirls instead of being read. 😁 For those who asked about the Intermediate Calligraphy class, I'll have a session again this JULY 29, Sunday at @cafemithi QC! It's a class for those who had started with their calligraphy/handlettering journey but not sure how to level it up (flourishing + layouting, yes?). Fret not, it's technical but fun and you don't need to be my former student in the beginner class! I wanna share about my SOMEDAY a bit. Been sorting out my workspace lately and found some of my old practice works. That "Someday is Here" quote is still relevant until today. It's so resonating that made me motivated to be more open for learning and not to stop creating opportunities because I remember the moment that I did this practice: I was basically wishing that I'd see my works somewhere people can see and appreciate SOMEDAY. I wish to achieve it SOMEDAY and that SOMEDAY happened. But once SOMEDAY happened, let that not stop you there: mark that as a reminder that we work for SOMEDAY to happen. We sometimes wait and it's okay to wait but wouldn't it be nice for us to work on it a little? 👻 The intent of this post is not to literally take the meaning of SOMEDAY and I'm telling you, SOMEDAY can be TODAY. ❤️ And here I am, still creating for more SOMEDAYS to happen. I love it when clients let artists create everything in their own style. They give pegs but will give room for me to imbibe my own voice but it's also challenging if you get to learn about new styles and experiment with it. 😁 When it comes to medium, I actually started with poster paint/acrylic but ventured out to watercolors but eventually came back to acrylic due to murals and canvas projects/wooden planks commissions. Perhaps, it's nice to try everything once and it's okay if you don't get to master everything that you try. But I duly believe that everything you want to do, there shall be a little (or more) of mastery of it. Like, I tried gothic calligraphy but I can't teach you that because I'm not good at it but I can teach you brush calligraphy, florals painting or eraser stamp carving because I'm pretty good at it. 😉 So I'm opening this post now for any questions, LIKE, YOU CAN ASK ANY ART-RELATED QUESTIONS. The comment box is open!!! I'll try to answer/give advice based from my experiences, ok? 😘
