A bit of a character update.

Hey guys!

I've been thinking about changing Karla/Carlos Reyes to just Karla Reyes. This mostly has to do with the dynamic between them and Faye. When I picture scenes with Faye and Karla I can see it clear as day. And when I picture scenes with Faye and Carlos it just doesn't click as easily. Since their past relationship plays a big part in not only their backstory but also their solo and poly route, I think that it's really important that they feel natural together.

That would mean there would be 5 gender selectable characters and 5 gender set.

I just wanted to see what you all thought before I made my final decision.

When I'm hyper focusing or super stressed I sit on the floor and do a puzzle or some crafting. So Ros definitely will find me just sitting on the floor doing whatever like some hermit and probably in the dark too.

Well I can think of more than a few characters who would more than willingly get crafty with you 🤭

Jacob, Ishara, August, Maxine, Faye, Karla, and Joleen/Johnny definitely come to mind.

Yeah I've been trying to think of what bad habits/traits would fit for an MC in this type of story. So far I'm thinking smoking, drinking, poor eating habits, pulling constant all nighters, things like that.

How bold would the Ros become with a shy and self-conscious mc?

Hey! I’ll be using a scale of 6 emojis for spicy vs sweet levels.😚=sweet 🥵=spicy. I think that the boldness of the ROs will definitely change depending on the type of MC you choose to play. Some may be all spice and others all sweet and some could be a mix of the two.

Roxanne/Robbie: 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵😚 Ro is usually going at 100% in all aspects! When they want something or someone they're going to get them. If MC is more shy and reserved they'll only dial a down a teeny bit.

Joleen/Johnny: 🥵🥵🥵😚😚😚 Jo is very intuitive and considerate. They will naturally feed off of their partners energy, not to say that they won't make advances. A more shy MC can always rely on them to make them feel wanted yet comfortable.

Delphine/Desmond:🥵🥵🥵🥵😚😚 De is a true leader by nature. If MC is shy or unsure of themself then De will more than willingly take the lead. De will help MC build their confidence so that they feel more confident and comfortable with initiating things more often.

Rina/Ren: 🥵😚😚😚😚😚 R is a bit reserved and inexperienced themself. MC and R may have to stumble through the motions and learn together. They can build on their wants and needs and find their own unique flow.

Everly/Everett: 🥵🥵🥵😚😚😚 Eve is observant and aims to please. They won't want to push MC to far past their comfort level, but they will need MC to show some interest or they will start to feel a bit insecure.

Karla: 🥵🥵😚😚😚😚 Karla might enjoy teasing a more shy and reserved MC, but all in good fun. She has a chill vibe that will probably set MC at ease and make them feel a lot more comfortable in their own skin.

Faye: 🥵😚😚😚😚😚 Faye is already super sweet and a bit of a people pleaser. If MC is feeling shy and self conscious then Faye is going to do everything in her power to make them feel more self assured and at ease.

Sebastien: 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵😚 Seb isn't going to let MC shy away from him. He'll sincerely romance a shy MC until they are thoroughly seduced and can't even remember why they were shy in the first place.

Maxine: 🥵🥵🥵😚😚😚 Max is MC's best friend and as such she is aware of all their little quirks and insecurities. She be patient but she might get a little wary if MC is to passive, since she's already nervous about being more that friends.

Silas: 🥵🥵😚😚😚😚 Silas will probably find a shy MC really cute. He'll outwardly take a step back, taking the opportunity to distance himself from his advisee, and not show an ounce of interest, but inwardly be screaming because of how much he wants to tease them.

Welcome Future Resident!

Hi I’m Silas Walker, and I’ll be your RA for your freshman year at Lipton Hall. Before classes officially start you’ll have a full week to get settled into your new home. During Welcome Week you can attend hall specific events and others that are campus wide. I’ve planned some fun and helpful events for you to meet and learn with your future hallmates like a game night and a paint and sip picnic in the park!

Most days will leave you some space for free time to do with as you please.

The attached flyer gives you a look at the events you’ll attend each day. Since it doesn’t go in-depth for each event I’ll do that down below.

Monday- First you’ll unload and move into your dorm room at Lipton Hall! Once you’ve finished getting everything in and said your goodbyes to your family you can settle in and unpack with your new roommate. Later that evening we’ll have a Move in Day Mixer in the common room so that you can meet and get to know your other hallmates.

Tuesday- In the morning I’ll be leading a Campus Tour to help you and your hallmates not only know the general lay of the land, but also plan your route to your classes. We’ll end the tour at the campus bookstore so that you all can pickup your textbooks and other materials you’ll need for the semester. There is also a small café in the bookstore where we’ll grab a quick lunch. That evening you’ll have some free time.

Wednesday- In the morning we’ll attend the Student Organizations Fair so that you can explore all the ways to get involved. In the afternoon you’ll have some free time, and in the evening you can attend the outdoor movie night.

Thursday: Most of Thursday will be taken up by the Off Campus Tour I’ll be leading to show you and your hallmates some student favorite spots and how to use the subway. In the evening there will be a Speed Friending Event for new students, mostly freshman, transfers and foreign exchange students will be attending.

Friday: In the morning we’ll be having a pancake breakfast in the common room, and you’ll write a letter for your future self to read at the end of your freshman year. In the after noon you’ll have some free time and that evening I’ll be hosting a big game night.

Saturday: The only thing planned for Saturday is a Paint and Sip Picnic in the Park in the afternoon, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore freely.

Sunday: We’ll go to a nearby brunch spot later in the morning. In the afternoon I’ll be hosting an organization and study tips session in the common room to help set you all up for success. And that evening you’ll have free time to prepare yourself for your first day of classes.

De: Yes it is, but he works so hard to organize so many events for us no reason we shouldn't lighten the load.

Ro: *with a sly grin* Oh yes The Rebel Rejects future punk legends and resident good Samaritans. Has a unique ring to it I guess...

Jo: *with a knowing look* De you know the real reason you volunteered us is because you don't trust anyone else to get quality groceries and its a perfect excuse to make your homemade pizza.

De: *scoffs and gives Jo a little shove* Well a choose your own toppings, from scratch, pizza bar sounds way better than a couple of boring frozen Digiorno. Plus It will be a fuck ton tastier and an added activity.

Jo: *chuckles and links arms with De* Oh I'm not complaining your constant need to be in the kitchen keeps me very well fed. And the fact that your cooking is Michelin worthy doesn't hurt either.

MC: *running in slow motion ready to jump into the band's arms*

Ro: Uh...what's that?

MC: Guys!!! I've been... *gets closer and jumps into the group*

Ro: *Jumps away*

Jo: *is startled and drops their tote bags, and scrambles to pick everything up*

De: *is standing baffled holding MC in their arms, in a classic firemen's carry, still has tote bags on each shoulder*

MC: I've been looking everywhere for you guys!

Ro: *stepping out in front of De and MC, laughing* Well you found us. What's up?

MC: Uh...nothing actually.... I just missed you all....*gets intensely embarrassed and tries to scramble out of De's arms*

De: *keeps hold of MC, and continues on to the dorm* Well you're stuck with us now. *nonchalantly* What pizza toppings do you like?

Jo: *cracking up* It doesn't matter you bought every possible option! Silas is gonna flip when he sees the receipt.

*How would Rebel Rejects react to the situation of an MC who has anxiety, and who, in the middle of a presentation (or something similar), ends up receiving several not-so-constructive comments from some people (being a bit threatening?), and kind of their anxiety starts to appear, causing Mc to leave the room and hide in a corner while he has an anxiety attack. How would they react to this, would they be surprised? Would they know what to do?

Sorry if this is a little personal for you (or other people), I went through a similar situation with a friend of mine once, I was super nervous, but everything worked out. And before you ask, yes, he let me write about it, and he also loves his work and the band🤩😋 !!

Your so sweet! No need to feel sorry for any questions you may have. Everyone has challenges and they are such a natural part of life that of course they're a part of the stories we tell as well. And thank you for enjoying my work! I'll be excited to see what you and your friend think once the demo is out! (though that's still a ways away 😪)

Let's dive into your scenario! I'm picturing MC presenting on something in a music theory course, feeling good about what they have put together. That is until the peer review portion of the class and everyone starts harshly tearing down each of the points they made. Then MC runs out and through the building till they find an empty classroom to cry in alone. And action!

The Rebel Rejects: *rush into the room out of breath since they've been searching all over the building for MC*

De: *slowly walks over to MC and kneels beside them* Are you ok? I mean I know you're not ok, but do you need anything?

Jo: *sits down in the desk beside MC facing their body towards them* We get that, that was a lot, and we just want you to know that we are here for you. Everything you are feeling right now is completely valid.

Ro: *sits on Jo's lap* Whatever you need. If you want space, if you want to cry *in a mock whisper* if you want us knock out all their teeth.

De: *slaps Ro's knee* What the fuck Ro shut up! *struggles to keep a smile off their face* What Ro means to say is that we want you to know that we see you. As your friends we have your back completely.

Jo: Exactly. However you need to process that, nonsense that just went down, we'll stay with you if you want us to.

Ro: *their face softens* Yeah, what they said. So MC take your time, breathe. When you're ready tell us what you need, we're more than ready to listen.

Side note: If you're caught up on the RO profiles and interviews then you already know that Jo has had to deal with some emotional trauma do to where they were raised. Luckily De is very mature and emotionally intelligent and Ro is caring and always ready to stand beside their friends. Overtime Jo has learned a how to properly cope with and work through their emotions. Usually if they feel overwhelmed they'll take a moment to meditate, talk it through with their friends, or they'll just let it all out on the drums.
