anyway we got stuck on the pulley puzzle bc one of my friends is trying to solve the puzzles on his own while the other that I’ve been playing with the rest of the time is fine with me giving her the answers so more updates when we get past the graph theory puzzle lol

Looking For a Stay Tuned for Danger Playthrough

Hey Clue Crew!

So a friend of mine and I are playing through the whole series, and it’s time for Ransom of the Seven Ships. I’ve played every game except for STfD, and I found out about the callback in RotSS without having played the game. I own the digital version from HI’s website, but I haven’t been able to get it running on my computer (I have a Win10 gaming PC that’s notoriously bad at running older software, and I’m still fighting my Win2000 virtual machine trying to get it running).

I want my friend to have the full experience, so I was hoping to find a good playthrough online that we could watch before we play RotSS. If anyone has one that they would recommend, could you point me in their direction? Feel free to self-promote! I just want her to have a chance to recognize the callback, as it was intended.

Might be obvious from my blog lol, but The Silent Spy is my favorite game to replay because the spy gadgets are just so cool! I love spy games, so I’m probably biased, but I could also just spend hours making those pastries (for all the times I’ve played this game, I never remember what they’re called).

I also have a lot of nostalgia for Warnings at Waverly Academy, because it was my introduction to the desktop games, and to this day it’s the closest I’ve ever gotten to finishing one of these games without having to look anything up. ADHD and these games don’t mix well, so I get stumped more often than I care to admit. 😅

whats ur go-to pick-me-up Nancy Drew game? one that makes you smile when you’ve had a bad day?

I feel this so hard like I’m a lesbian but Henry Bolet is just an attractive man okay I don’t make the rules.

And his model isn’t even that great? Like by modern standards at least it’s a little uncanny valley but like that doesn’t stop him? The real legend in that game is Henry Bolet and how the heck a mid-2000’s 3D model looked so good.

What kills me is that his voice is great but his VA hasn’t done anything else? Ever? That I can find? Sir you have a gift pls share it with the world.

Why the heck do I find Henry Bolet attractive? 1. I don’t go for the “goth” type 2. HES. A. FRICKING. ANIMATED. CHARACTER. GOD DANG IT.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW HE’S SO ATTRACTIVE AND IT FRUSTRATES THE HELL OUT OF ME.

So I replayed Danger By Design with a friend the other day (we’re going through the whole series, her for the first time) and I guess I have thoughts on it that maybe some people would be interested in reading idk

I... actually really liked Midnight in Salem and thought it was worth the wait? Like, I thought it was a beautiful game and the characters were great and this was one of the more compelling storylines in the series imo?

Idk I’m just... not sure what people disliked about it so much? Everyone’s opinion is valid ofc but I’m just confused I’m new to the tumblr fandom for these games and I guess I’m just out of the loop lol.

It takes a LONG time, but eventually you can call! I had this happen to me, and I had to do every last little thing possible to finally unlock it, and I can’t remember exactly what triggered it, but the last time I played SSH, I couldn’t talk to Franklin until I had done pretty much everything in the game and then I finally got to make that call.

God, listening to Franklin and Prudence’s voicemail messages (or... answering machines?) was really starting to get on my nerves!

wait in ssh can you get softlocked by not calling franklin rose about prudence rutherford before joanna gets kicked out bc i think i got softlocked oops

Hi, I’m Tori!

Okay I’ll stop with the bad references now.

I’m Tori, and I am eternally late to the party lol. I didn’t start playing these games until... around 2010/2011? Not sure exactly when. I didn’t even realize there was a fandom on tumblr until a few months ago.

As this blog probably indicates, The Silent Spy is my favorite game in the series. I love anything with spies and cool gadgets and all that. 

I grew up reading the Nancy Drew books, and I started the game series with Warnings at Waverly Academy. I’ve since collected every game except for the original Secrets Can Kill (I have the remaster, which I’ve been told was changed pretty significantly oof) and played all the ones I have except for Stay Tuned for Danger, because I’m still trying to get it to work in my virtual machine for the Real Experience. 

This is a side-blog, so notifications might come from my main, @hashtag-anthems, and asks will be anon but I’ll identify myself lol.
