What if Nicolas Flamel became a witch??

I mean, Flamel is already pretty much magi-coded, why not take it one step further? PRIMO MATERIA

Each of its segments are in the shape of one of the five alchemical polygon going in numerical order, with the icosahedron containing the witch, which has aged so far backwards from the philosopher's stone's magic, its now a fetus, using its treasured stone as a womb.

I'd imagine if Flamel was a magi (and therefore magireco unit), he'd have a trio unit with Pernelle (with Torte as the third wheel), and combine with Hermes Trismegistus and Torte's doppel.

Is there any lore with these two witches 👀👂

I havent thought about it too much yet..! I just saw the designs and was like ‘oh yeah! Theyre cute! I should use them!’

I want to call her Minnie (yeah, subtle, I know, but its a cute name anyway). Not sure about type or nature yet. She’s an older lady, inspired a little by rubberhose cartoons. I want her weapon to be a big gold machine gun. Her witch is held up by these four small wheels on spindly legs. Her arms are pretty useless but her legs spin like a propellor to move her along. It looks like she might collapse at any moment. Although she looks like a mouse, her tail says otherwise, what is she? Hmm, a mystery.

Im not sure of a name yet for her but Id say Angel witch. Its not often I make simple and basic cute witch designs so she was a nice change. She rocks back and forth like a metronome. Her wand shoots large lasers and she likes destroying things. Does absolutely everything with a smile.

And of course, they are girlfriends

Results of the Poll!

Alright, now that the poll has past its deadline, its time to see what you guys as Magireco fans want from the side series. Starting with first place with practically a quarter of the votes...

Kazumi Magica!

As the first spinoff of Madoka Magica, I'm not surprised this was first place. Considering, aside from the three girls we got at the beginning and Kazumi Subaru, there's no other Kazumi representation. Heck, we don't even have the presumable Magireco-original girl drawn by Kazumi's artist yet! We don't even Saki and Niko, who have both made physical appearance in the game already...

Madoka Magica!

This refers to the girls Madoka in saved in the montage, Cleopatra & Himiko, and the familiars of Walpurgis that appeared in the endcard. You think we'd get at least one of them in Puella Historia. There is a lot of situations where they could add them in, probably as three-star characters to add as permanent units to the gacha, rather than limited one, aside from the bear girl. Also the game (finally) get black representation with the savannah girl! Some of the girls are already shown to be present in the game

It's the first spinoff since the release of Magia Record, so of course this one was going to be high up! Really interested to see how Kosane & Eruna would work ingame, would they have separate magi outfits, doppels even? Couerl would probably be a capped welfare unit, much like previous girls named after the color black before her. Maybe even the finger family witch could too? Tying at fourth place with 8.9% of the votes each...

Mobage! and...

Tart Magica!

Mobage is most likely one of the only sources of Magi and Witch context not used in Magireco, and with some pretty interesting characters like Elise or Claire, and the 8 whole exclusive witches, I'm surprised they haven't. Tart on the other hand is probably the side series with the most characters featured in Magireco, now to the point that only a few minor magi could make their debut... and also like, the more than 30 witch designs they could use.

Personal critiques of the new witches: Renata: Feels a little empty... I think it needed the bones featured in Doppel Renata to use some space. I also think it would be fun if Ghost Ren was incorporated into it.

Shalimar: Love the use of Emiri's pigtails, do NOT like the "voluptuous" body they gave the witch, sigh, can't the witches at least not be affected by gross character design. Cyan: To be honest, I think Cyan would've benefit being a 1:1 to doppel cyan with the gas mask and test tubes. Vayu: Great witch, nothing I can really say, aside from the grim yet fun detail of Shizuku's head in the purse. Don Rocinante: I LOVE her goofy little leather shoes, she's so silly i love her the most of these. Aodamo: Not a fan of the weird legs bulging out at an odd angel, think like a modified version of the wires from the doppel would've felt better, or at least make the legs looks like their flailing around while its floating.

darn it's 2 weeks long? booooooo. that last unaccounted week will probably be yu and shi though.

i hope f4samurai does something new for madoka magica if magireco really is coming to a close, aside from walpurgis rising, there's nothing else madoka magica-wise that give us anything new.

Also I should probably talk about the magireco news at some point

we're getting a MasaKoko wedding rerun and the announcement of two kimochis: Alina Eve and Nutcracker Witch. IIRC both of these are void? Which is kind of an odd choice imo. I know that there are going to be different mechanics but still, it feels a little odd to have them back to back like that.

This might be the first month we get with no new unit release, which feels really weird. I'm genuinely unsure if that's ever happened before. The only reason I noticed is because I've been able to get one new unit every month and this might break my streak since playing on JP almost four years ago (yes yes shame me for being a whale, it's fine).

I'm not going to go all doom and gloom, but it still feels a little sad. We're in the twilight era of the game I suppose. I mean, we have been for a while, but still.

I'm not going to go all doom and gloom here-- just saying my thoughts I guess.

Vivi on discord pointed out that there's one unaccounted for week inside March so it's possible that we might get something neat in there, but I'm unsure. Also, it's always possible that they might run a Kimochi alongside another event.

So I've now watched a MagiReco game story! (other than scene 0 that is) ...The Moka one probably wasn't the best one to start with.

The format is pretty difficult but there's not really anything that can be done about it, but the story wasn't particularly amazing either. Like it's just Moka repeatedly getting into trouble due to being stupendously gullible, and then the resolution is that she still can't take care of herself at all. But then again this is a story for a side character in a game that has like a hundred of magical girls, so I suppose there is room for more light-hearted stories like this. As a character Moka is super tropey but it's still nice to see that she's well cared for. And also she remains incredibly cute.

so basically its the homurolley problem.

Madoka and Mabayu are tied on two different rails, if Homura leaves the trolley going (symbolized by kyubey/witchification) she loses Madoka but saves Mabayu in the process. But if Homura chooses to save her beloved Madoka, an innocent girl takes her place in Kriemhild Gretchen-level suffering.

The urge to rewrite SCENE ZERO

I won't lie, ever since the first days of scene zero, I knew it would go downhill, there were a few amazing moments here and there, but, t was so repetative...So i propose something? I WANT TO REWRITE SCENE ZERO? Who would want that?

I have a idea on it, TDLR I feel the reason Mabayu is trapped in the time loop is due to kyuubey, Kyuubey trying to make Mabayu the "next madoka" struck me, So. I was like What if in one timeline homura was in, Kyuubey caught on to homuras plan, and the result of her magic, Kyuubey puts magic or sm on Mabayu, tying her to their fates, So yea, when Homura reverses time, madokas fate also gets stronger,,,but so does mabayu. And since Homura only really cares about madoka (She full on says, if u die and i save madoka, i won't rewind) It leaves Mabayu as the plan B. if homura does save madoka and prevents her from becoming a magical girl / witch. Kyuubey still had Mabayu, who has been through so many time loops. her entropy is enough to complete their goal 100 times.
