this might my final message here, but would like to remind everyone that noah (and other members of the cast and crew but especially noah) being a piece of shit means that boycotting is probably the best move! Which means you should start pirating and stop buying ST merch. Obv, continue to be a fan if you want to, but stop financially supporting it. the us government cares more about capital than human lives, and so use your capital to show you don't support this shit.

anyway the key takeaway for those not yet radicalised, here, is that the architects of genocide will come to you with claims of opposing hatred, with claims of humanitarianism, with narratives that don't simply accuse the Enemy of being subhuman and needing extermination, but of the Enemy being the real perpetrators of oppression and genocide.
the reality is that a simple 'opposition to hatred and oppression' will not save you from supporting and abetting genocide. you need more than that, because you will be presented with arguments built specifically to prey on your kneejerk credulity for, and backing of, the 'victims' of oppression. what you will need is historical, material analysis of the forces at play and their histories. you will need to really ask yourself if the information you're receiving - even if it is an overwhelming and seemingly uncontested information - is coming from an interested party.
and you will find that there exists no disinterested party, that there exists no impartiality, there only exists the sides of genuine oppressors and genuinely oppressed. you will strip away the rhetoric and find that one of those groups consistently sits on one side of a fifth-generation fighter-bomber aircraft, and one sits on the other.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health released a full report with names, ages and IDs of those who were killed – maybe at least in part as a fuck you to Western media and the US president who suddenly cast doubt on the number of fatalities. Over 7000 people died. Whole families wiped out forever. It's beyond comprehension. May their memory be eternal.

Nobody understands the bond between a girl and the mediocre book she read when she was 13 years old.

Liberals wincing at the brutality of Hamas’ attack is even more smoothbrain when you consider that the Gaza Strip is objectively the worst concentration camp in the world.
It’s the 2nd most densely populated area in the entire world, 95% of water isn’t safe, they are only given 4 hours of electricity (imagine this with the population density and Mediterranean heat), medicine and basic foodstuffs like juice are embargoed. The average age in Gaza is 19 - the old and weak die quickly as their health care system cannot get supplies and doesn’t have stable electricity. More than half of youths under 18 expressed that they have no real desire to live and contemplate suicide regularly. 45% unemployment. Children get blown up playing soccer on the beach by advanced warships. It’s probably the most surveilled and spied upon place in the world. It’s a tiny strip of land 25 miles wide that is regularly subjected to bombing.
In 2018 mass peaceful demonstrations were organized, thousands and thousands of Palestinians marched along the border wall. Israel shot 2,000 of them with live ammunition, but only killed around 200 because they deliberately aim at legs to place even more strain on the depleted medical infrastructure and make an invalid that can’t contribute as well. 36,000 Palestinians were injured peacefully protesting.
Every year the IDF invades Al-Asqa mosque, gasses the worshippers and cracks heads open, and then they leave because there’s no point aside from violent harassment. And then there’s the constant news from other occupied areas of Palestinians being evicted, homes being bulldozed, the survivors fined and harassed. Palestinian olive trees, generational in their age, bulldozed by the occupiers.
Shooting civilians wantonly might be morally dubious in a situation like Hawaii, some place where an occupation makes you disadvantaged and a second class citizen. But Gaza is just flat out a death camp. Of course the commandos went berserk with rage, of course they brought bodies back to parade in the streets - everyone has been dehumanized for their entire lives. Treat people like animals and they might just act like animals once they get their hands on you.

Was very excited to watch moonlight for my film class bc it’s one of my favorites and there ended up being several times where classmates were laughing during serious scenes 🧍‍♂️

In addition to multiclass possibilities, I think it's worth considering that Will may have built his character differently for different campaigns (I've done that when I play with friends - sometimes I liked my character name and overall concept but wanted to explore a different path for them in a new campaign), and he could even have two or more different characters that he plays that we might not be aware of yet. I've played multiple characters in D&D over the years. I don't find the show portraying the kids as only playing one character ever, or as only playing their character in one way in different campaigns, realistic to most D&D groups I've played with.
I guess maybe I’m just frustrated with the idea that Will is solely the cleric for this reason? Depending on who is dming the party composition would probably change.
Perhaps Will shifting from wizard to cleric so “El can be the mage” is metaphorical, Will needs to change his class in order to make room for El, like how his relationship w/ Mike needs to change because of El’s presence. Though I’ve also never gotten why El is the mage because El doesn’t even play dnd? Is Mike just making stuff up lol

Mike calls him a cleric in season two when denying Max a spot in their party, but Will the Wise is still a wizard which is confusing. Could be a writer oversight because they didn't want the party to have two magic users now that El had joined and replaced him or maybe he multi-classed and they just never say it outright.
Okay I was wondering where the cleric thing came from because Will the wise is the most stereotypical wizard I think you could create. Hopefully they’ll make it more clear at one point?
