Studying for my physiology exam gets my whumpy brain going which is great but also distracting.
Like “explain why x is important” because without x the person’s lung will collpase which is bad... unless you want a character to have something lifethreatening but not permanently damaging happen to them in which case it’s fantastic! Consequences of deviations in body temperature include x,y,z and also characters cuddling for warmth.

Everyone Has a Past
Unlike so many shows and movies would like us to believe, characters don't simply recover from their injuries and swan off all smiles and sunshine. There is a personal cost for what you've done to them. Whatever your brand of injury your character will carry those wounds, internally, from then on. In fact you spend less time on the physical whump than the emotional. Flashbacks, self-medicating, and even worse are in store for your character. However you also include quite a bit of comfort with your hurt. After all, you want your character to know they never have to suffer alone. Their friends have got their back.
Your Result:
The Terminator
The art of the story sometimes requires sacrifice. Killing off your character doesn’t mean you hate them but, rather, that you so passionately care for them you know their death will resonate with the reader in a horribly brutal way. The thing is, you aren’t just a “one and done” sorta writer, no, you’re more of a serial killer. Even knowing your stories will cause lasting pain and heartbreak, or perhaps because if it, you just can’t stop yourself from cutting right through that lifeline. It’s worth the reviews filled with cursing and screams knowing you told your tale the way it had to be told. Damn you.
OMG, it’s ME! (Though I usually save them at the very end)

I am a slut for that moment when the whumpee’s hands get pulled behind them to be tied or cuffed.
Bonus if they’re lying face down on the ground.
Bonus x2 if they have their hands above/on their head and the whumpers pull their hands down and back.
Bonus x3 if they wince or grimace while it’s happening.
Bonus x4 if they’re getting cuffed/tied willingly because they are sacrificing themselves for someone else, and they’re not resisting, but the whumpers still treat them as if they’re going to escape at any second. Cue gunpoint, manhandling, etc.
That’s the good shit.

Kneeling
Pushed to their knees, hitting the ground painfully enough to make them grimace
Forced to kneel as a stress position, on the hard ground or on gravel or on shards of glass
Kneeling formally, for a long time. They want to keep still for this, they want to show respect, and it hurts, but still, they do it
Kneeling as a sign of submission. With this gesture, they're not only humiliated, they also sign themselves and their whole family over to the other's rule
That defiant glare of a whumpee who is on their knees, bruised and bloody with hands tied behind their back, but still ready to defy their captor to hell and back
Ordered to kneel and complying, prepared for the pain that will inevitably follow, because otherwise their friend gets hurt instead
Kneeling down to beg, to show their submission and maybe be granted mercy if they do it prettily enough
Kneeling down to formally plead for their friends or loved ones sake. Pressing themselves to the floor ever deeper the more desperate they become
Tied up, blindfolded and being made to kneel. Then left alone, in the dark, in the dreadful quiet, to wait for they know not what fate
Kneeling before someone in veneration, looking up at them as though they were the sun
Or, kneeling before them, head bowed, ready to accept whatever they will choose to do with them. It's a calmer, more deliberate version of that same veneration as before

Manhandling
You know those moments when a character is treated with excessive force but not necessarily with the sole purpose of bringing pain?
Allow me to expand on that:
Shoving the whumpee against the wall with the whumpee’s back to the wall, their arms pinned above their head by a single hand
Shoving the whumpee against the wall with the whumpee’s face and chest against the wall, a hand painfully pulled behind their back (bonus if their nose starts bleeding because of the impact)
Gripping their chin and lifting it to make them look up at the whumper
Grabbing a handful of their hair and forcing their head up to make them look up at the whumper
Grabbing a handful of their hair to drag them somewhere (preferably to a torture room)
Forcing them to kneel by a kick to the knees and a well twisted arm behind their back, maybe even pushing their head down
Throwing them to the floor face up and holding their arms to the sides of their body. The whumper using the weight of their body to keep the whumpee’s legs on the ground
Throwing them to the floor face down with the whumper’s boot pressing on their back, forcing the air out of their lungs
Grabbing them and pulling them close to keep them from running away, putting a hand over their mouth so they can’t scream for help
Making them face the whumper when they’re close, having to breathe in their scent and see their smug victorious smile
Dragging them with hands under their arms, not letting them stand up long enough to kick themselves away
Dragging them by the legs, pulling harder when they grip furniture and door frames to keep themselves from being taken to inevitable doom
Or just picking them up and carrying them bridal style when they’re too delirious/drugged up/weak to fight back

The hero of the time to get the latest flash player is required for video playback????
Hero/Villain Auto-Fill Game
(Making another of these while my brain has no motivation for original ideas. I love seeing what comes out of these.)
Rules: Using your phone start your sentence with "The Hero"/"Hero" or "The Villain"/"Villain" and use your keyboard's autofill suggestions to complete a sentence/prompt. (You don't have to only use the middle suggestion.)
The Hero is the one that has been the most powerful of all.
Villian was the tug of war prize for the first time. (-what the heck?)
Interesting prompt idea of two heros fighting over who get the Villain with a strength competition?? XD
You don't need to tag people to play but I'm tagging @one-lonely-whumperfly, @morallygreyprompts, and @gimmethatsweetwhump

The Deaths of Daniel Jackson
Tumblr media
This counts actual deaths, supposed or assumed dead, almost deaths/should have died from it, and alternate versions of Daniel (like robot or AU). This is only episode deaths. I haven’t read all the books so I don’t know about deaths in the books.
Stargate the original movie:
Killed by staff weapon, healed by sarcophagus
Season 1:
Killed by Apophis with a staff weapon, healed by the Nox (the Nox)
“killed” by Nem (the rest of SG-1 believed they saw Daniel die due to implanted memories), “resurrected” by hypnosis (Fire and Water)
Alternate universe Daniel killed in Egypt by the Goa'uld, Real Daniel comes back home (not sure if this one counts but a Daniel did die so…) (There But For the Grace of God)
Season 2:
Mortally wounded by a staff weapon, healed by sarcophagus before actual death (The Serpent’s Lair)
Nearly choked to death on prison world, healed by Linea (Prisoners)
Crushed in a landslide and mortally wounded (if not outright killed), healed by sarcophagus. (Need)
Presumed dead by Jack who is told that he is the sole survivor of SG-1. (Out of Mind)
Season 3:
None
Season 4:
Shot and killed by the Stargate security system in the future. Jack successfully changes the future thus Daniel never dies (2010)
Flatlines but is resuscitated as soon as he returned through the stargate. and back to the planet. (The Light)
His head is shot off by Cronus. Turns out this Daniel was actually a robot  but viewer believes it is the real Daniel until head is shot off. (Double Jeopardy)
Season 5:
Exposed to a lethal amount of radiation. Ascended by Oma DeSalla at the moment of death. (Meridian)
Season 6:
Presumed dead after the defeat of Anubis when he doesn’t de-ascend. Later returns (Full Circle)
Season 7:
None
Season 8:
Almost killed in the war on Tegalus. Badly injured and declared MIA by the SGC and presumed dead by SG-1. (Icon)
Virtual Daniel died numerous times while attempting to help Teal'c escape from the virtual reality game (Avatar)
Abducted and killed by RepliCarter, Ascends (Reckoning)
Presumed dead after RepliCarter’s ship was destroyed and Daniel hasn’t shown up. He De-ascends at the end of the episode. (Threads)
Alternate universe Daniel is killed after it’s discovered he was a Goa’uld. Original Daniel is in the past alone. (Moebius)
Season 9:
Daniel’s death was implied after the destruction of the Korolev, revealed he escaped in the next episode (Flesh and Blood) before the explosion. (Camelot)
Season 10:
Died when the Odyssey exploded. Time reversed by Teal’c (Unending)
Continuum
Killed by Quatesh’s Jaffa while defending Carter. Mitchell traveled back in time to correct history.
Ark of Truth
None
Total: 21
5 confirmed deaths that were not changed due to time travel, where he was not a robot, were not alternate realities, and were not mind manipulations or assumptions. He actually died 5 times:
Original 1994 Movie
The Nox
The Light
Meridian
Reckoning
If I missed any shoot me a message and I’ll add it to the list :)
