A sort of follow up post to the archive of the different builds of my fangame REVENGE

Might as well explain them here as they’ll never see the light of day

REVENGE

REVENGE was my main fangame that i worked on,started off as a really bad fangame until i learned how rpgmaker 2003 works

Keep in mind i wrote the plot for this when i was around 14,so it fucking sucks

It would have been about a alternate universe of OFFs,from small to big changes

Everything would have been different

Hugo being a survivor in a post apocaliptic world,griefing for his parents he decided to make himself some “new” parents

The queen was made from metal scraps and dirt so she can survive any danger,but due to this she had a rough skin resultin in hugo not being able to hug her or have any sort of motherly love

So he tryed to find a soft but sturdy material for his father,resulting in finding a baseball mannequin however hugo was already weakened,so the batter came off simpler

Simpler perspective on the world,simpler way of talking.etc

The guardians where find by the batter insted of hugo in this timeline

Dedan was a starving scanvenger who the batter found and invited him to his house

feeding him and giveing him shelter

Japhet was a hurt bird that the batter found,brining it inside so he can recover

Batter found enoch at the bottom of a hole

Japhet helpt him get out of it

Batter was friends with the guardians and hugo

On hugos bday everything fell apart as dedan had a fight with the guardians and the batter,dedan was already mad since he fought with the queen over hugos safety

After the party,the queen comes in late and she and batter fight,resulting in the batter going on a walk to clear his mind

But then specters attacked him

He rushed back home only to get told by hugo who already saw the specters what they are

The specters are dead souls that cant move on,some keep some of thier traits when they used to be alive,some are more primitive than others

Batter decides to leave hugo and the queen,trying to find a way to stop the specter attacks

Cue to the end of OFF

Batter is ready to flip the switch but judge claws his eyes out,batter finishes him off and now blind struggles to find the switch and turn it off

The switch in this timeline grants a persons deepest desire once,then can’t be fiped again unless you have all the grand elements

Anyway,after batter fliped the switch all the world corruption left

The now revied hugo and the elsens rebuild the zones

The batter in limbo gets judges for his sins by chaus(courtroom judge),chaus gives him a second chance however pablo doesn’t like that and has a argument with chaus about it

Chaus stil wont change his mind

Pablo storms off

After a tuto,the batter has a change of tunic into a grey one and is now on a quest to refine the zones

However in zone 0,the judge attacks the batter

Sending him into a coma

Resulting in the batter haveing a nightmare in wich he meets bad batter,bad batter would have been the secondary antagonist appearing in all the zones,taunting and challaneing the batters morals and viewpoints

The batter wakes up in zone -1

The minus zones being made from the crumbles of the og zones

zach catches him up to speed on what happend

The judge overthrowed the queen,becomeing King pablo

And now is reshapeing the zones to his wish

The batters quest now being to refine the zones to thier original form and take down pablo

Meanwhile there was supposed to bea secondary scenario

Frappeur,batters brother created by hugo going on a quest to find the batter

Frappeur is a sugar addict so there would be this trippy segments in the zones in wich he hallucinates

LOOP

would have been a constant loop of the room,each time getting more and more nonsenical and distorted until the batter “escaped”

FACADE

Being about “what if the batter didn’t flip the switch” haveing him deal with the fact he killed everyones going to trough distorted versions of the zones

SLEEP

a game about sugar!

It was about sugar dream,in wich she explores mixed match versions of the zones

Pavelo(a frankestien version of pablo and valerie joining her) the zones now would also be candy themed,like zone one barns has them harvest candy based minearls from the cows

Sugar would meet bad batter in th zones

However he wpuld become more and more human,showing that she slowly. Stoped fearing him

Soon it’ll be 2 years since i attempted to make a off fangame

REVENGE was a ambitous love project for the original OFF,it had a long and painful development cycle

From multiple builds,to files being corrupted,to in dev team drama and much more

I stoped careing for it,i stoped enjoying making the game

But i don’t want everyones efforts who worked on this project to go to waste

I changed a lot since 2 years ago,now i look back at it and want to throw up

But so many people put time and effort into it

Thinking about making a off fangame a chance again

I just wanted to share the concept of a short OFF fangame i have

It’s called FALLACY

Now it won’t be 100% accurate to offs lore

But no fangame is so no biggie

If you like/dislike this game concept i have then tell me!

It’s about elsen #532,a mechanic trying to repair train #2

So he and his friends can look for survivors and dead after the batter purified zone 1

Events of the game takeing place in three new train station/areas

Metis

Starting area,wearhouse for the out of comission trains

Colm

Residental area for the elsens,tons of items and homes

Neith

Wearhouse in wich,clothes,materials.etc are made

Story:

Opens up with #532 checking what could be done to fix train #2

He explains even tho he salvaged what he could from train#3,he stil needs materials to finish it up

He decides to take a break and form a plan with his friends

Walking around,you find a turned off lamp

#532 flips the switch underneath it

And bam a secret bunker opens up

However he finds his friends have gone missing

So he grabs what little to no resources he has and hurrys to Colm

Colm is infested with specters

Weak ones at that,532 manages to sneak around without too much trouble

He ends up finding #471 wounded and hurt in one of the houses

471 explains he was following 749 who left to gather resources

They got seprated by a specter ambush

749 running head straight to Neith

471 manageing to escape from them and hide

532 is glad 471 is alive but he needs to hirry and find. 749 now

471 and 532 stick toghter so they can fend off the soecters

They need to turn off the secuirty system if they want to reach Neith

Some puzzles later they reach Neith

Looking for him in the big bearly lit wearhouse,solveing puzzles and dodgeing secretary encouters

They get spot by some secretarys and a chase scene happens

They hide,succesfuly getting the secretarys off thier backs

They manage to find 749 hideing

All three reunited now must find a way to go to Metis without getting spoted by secretarys

471 remebers that Neith used to have a mine tunnel connecting it to Metis

So they look for the entrace of that tunnel

Once they reach Metis

They are heartbroken,finding train #2 shatterd and destroyed by secretarys

With secretarys closeing in from outside and inside

They make a run for the emergency exit

Closeing the doors behind them

They being the long walk to alma

Some close calls here and there

They finally reach alma

Only for secretarys to close in on them again

Makeing a mad dash to dedans office

Only to find that he is gone

Secretarys finally haveing them cornerd

They fight back

But the secretarys were too much for them

To handle

They die to thier hands

One by one

Game ending with a trippy memory lane segment from 532

Go with a open mind when playing OFF fangames

Hi yeah some of you might know me as i used to sorta active in the off fandom

I’m dropping here to give my two cents about stuff

So let’s say you find a fangame you think look intresting and play it but then get mad bc the game isn’t “following OFFs lore” or a character “acts out of character”

Not a lot of things about OFF are answerd/confirmed

Ppls interpertation of OFF could be totaly different from yours

Theres no “right” or “wrong” version of thr OFF cast or the lore

Ppl will see it differently,haveing compltetly different lore

also this unaswerd stuff is left up for you to figure out,for example

The secretarys

Ppl will have different ideas and theorys about what they are and how they came to be

Thats true for other stuff

So try to go with a open mind when playing fangames

Ppl spent hours upon hours on it,lots of sweat and work goes into them

Now does this mean i’m saying you can’t critisize them?

No,off fangames like any other fangames or piece of media

CAN get critism,your opinion on it is valid just like any other piece of media

Don’t go around swinging your opinion like it’s a fact or being a asshole about it

Wether you like a fangame or hate it,is subjective

Your opinion isn’t a fact,it’s just a opinion

Everyone is different,they like different stuff

Some will like a fangame and some will hate ita

And that’s fine

Just don’t be a dick about it

I annouced this on twitter but may as well also do it here.

Both REVENGE and SLEEP are canceled

I’m sorry for anyone who cared or was intrested in this projects of mine,but i can’t do this anymore

I alwasy had development problens wether it was engine,dev team,sprites. There was alwasy some sort of problem,development taked a toll on me and my mental health,the constant burnouts where hard to fight against,i ended up working burned out on my projects wich only deterorated my mental health more

And now i just don’t want to make fangames or games in general anymore.

I’ll be leaveing the fandom as i feel ashmed and guilty of my actions,i know saying sorry won’t fix the mistakes i did nor help the ppl i hurt

I won’t interact with the community anymore but will stil off related content,i stil love the game but won’t be in the fandom anymore.

With this i say goodbye,goodluck to all OFF fangame devs out there,remember to take breaks as your mental health matters

Today the governor of Texas released an official statement directing Family and Protective Services to investigate families of transgender minors on allegations of child abuse (with the intention of separating trans children from their families). It includes a “duty to report”, directing those who know or suspect the existence of a trans child to report it.

This is not a law, nor is it technically actively enforceable. But it is an official statement by a governor that WILL cause real consequences. It also emerges from all of the OTHER anti-trans legislation in action.

30/50 U.S. states are currently proposing legislation against the existence of trans minors (or sometimes people up to 21 years old).

As a trans person who transitioned as a minor in one of these states, I’ve been fighting against these laws for years with little to no news coverage. I am begging for people to care about this. These laws prohibit access to gender-affirming care, accuse families of trans minors of child abuse, jail doctors, and prohibit trans people from playing in sports. Some of these laws have already passed. Some are going to.

we need to kill it. again.

if you’re not familiar with the EARN IT act, it’s intended to remove all online encryption services, making it easy to have all your communications spied on on a whim. for what reason? the same guise they always use. “think of the children!”

this is going to put sex workers in danger. this is going to put political activists in danger. it’s going to put god knows who else in danger. this is going to ramp up censorship beyond compare. do NOT let this bill pass.

the ideal fantasyland these shit-idiot lawmakers want is an internet where every message you send is scanned for objectionable material. unless you feel like having an audience for all your private communications, or feel like being censored, i HIGHLY encourage you to oppose this bill.

URGENT: 🚨🚨EARN IT ACT IS BACK IN THE SENATE 🚨🚨 tumblr's nsfw ban hitting the entire internet this spring 2022

I’m so so sorry for the long post but please please please pay attention and spread this

WHAT IS THE EARN IT ACT?

The EARN IT Act has been roundly condemned by nearly every major LGBTQ+ advocacy and human rights organization in the country. This is a bill that will make children less safe, undermine online safety and security, and trample free expression, because it carves out another exception to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA 230), which the ACLU describes as “foundational to modern online communications.” This has been the law that has let the internet grow into what it is today, we’ve had this law since the 90s. (For context, Trump wanted to get rid of this law because he knew it would lead to mass govt surveillance and censorship of minorities online.)

The EARN IT Act will lead to online censorship. Platforms will be incentivized to scan their users’ communications and censor all sex-related content, including sex education, literally anything lgbt, transgender or non-binary education and support systems, and sex worker communication according to the ACLU. All this in the name of “protecting kids” and “fighting CSEM”, both of which the bill does nothing of the sort. In fact it makes fighting CSEM even harder.

If this bill passes, we're going to see most, if not all, adult content and accounts removed from mainstream platforms, for fear of the liability that could come with ever accidentally hosting CSAM, as well as the erasure of end-to-end encryption on messaging platforms.

This is really not a drill. Anyone who makes or consume anything “adult” online has to be prepared to fight Sen. Blumenthal's EARN IT Act, brought back from the grave by a bipartisan consensus to destroy Section 230.

EARN IT will open the way for politicians to define the category of “pornography" as they — or the lobbies that fund them — please, (Right now, right wing organizers are catgorizing books about racism as ‘porn’ to ban them from schools) which is a cherished goal of organizations that seek to reintroduce obscenity prosecutions for content now protected by Free Speech jurisprudence. This will 1000000% be used to eradicate anything LGBT online.

What this bill says it does on the surface is make platforms liable for their users’ activity if that activity involves sex and minors. However, because of 230, platforms are not liable at all about their users' activity. This has allowed platforms to grow and thrive and many niches online to as well. The bill also creates an unelected commission to create “best practices” to combat online child sexual exploitation. While these recommendations are nominally voluntary (so Americans have no decision on who gets to be on it), platforms that refuse to comply will be liable for criminal prosecutions and lawsuits should the government decide any of their users is engaging in online child sexual exploitation.

This is already a nightmare enough. But the bill also DESTROYS ENCRYPTION, you know, the thing protecting literally anyone or any govt entity from going into your private messages and emails and anything on your devices and spying on you.

This bill is going to finish what FOSTA/SESTA started. And that should terrify you.

Senator Blumenthal (Same guy who said ‘Facebook should ban finsta’) pushed this bill all of 2020, literally every activist (There were more than half a million signatures on this site opposing this act!) pushed hard to stop this bill. Now he brings it back, doesn’t show the text of the bill until hours later, and it’s WORSE. Instead of fixing literally anything in the bill that might actually protect kids online, Bluemnthal is hoping to fast track this and shove it through, hoping to get little media attention other than propaganda of "protecting kids" to support this shitty legislation that will harm kids.

The entire EARN IT act is based on *multiple* misunderstandings of the law and reality. It's a really really really bad policy that will do serious harm. But because Senator Blumenthal wants headlines, he'll pretend that it "helps protect the children." It won't. It'll do real damage. It will make CSEM much much worse.

One of the many reasons this bill is so dangerous: It totally misunderstands how Section 230 works, and in doing so (as with FOSTA) it is likely to make the very real problem of CSAM worse, not better. Section 230 gives companies the flexibility to try different approaches to dealing with various content moderation challenges. It allows for greater and greater experimentation and adjustments as they learn what works -- without fear of liability for any "failure." Removing Section 230 protections does the opposite. It says if you do anything, you may face crippling legal liability. This actually makes companies less willing to do anything that involves trying to seek out, take down, and report CSAM because of the greatly increased liability that comes with admitting that there is CSAM on your platform to search for and deal with. This liability would allow anyone for any reason to sue any platform they want, suing smaller ones out of existence. Look at what is happening right now with book bans across the nation with far right groups. This is going to happen to the internet if this bill passes.

(Remember, the state department released a report in December 2021 recommending that the government crack down on "obscenity" as hard the Reagan Administration did. If this bill passes, it could easily go way beyond shit red states are currently trying. It is a goldmine for the fascist right that is currently in the middle of banning every book that talks about race and sexuality across the US.)

NCOSE, the far right anti-LGBT hate group behind the global anti-sex legislations, is pushing the idea that any form of sexual expression, including talking about HEALTH, leads to sex trafficking. Their goal is to eliminate all sex, anything gay, and everything that goes against their idea of ‘God’ from the internet and hyper disney-fy and sanitize it. This is a highly coordinated attack on multiple fronts.

The reason these bills keep showing up is because there is this false lie spread by organizations like NCOSE that platforms do nothing about CSEM online. However, platforms are already liable for child sexual exploitation under federal law. Tech companies sent more than 45 million+ instances of CSAM to the DOJ in 2019 alone, most of which they declined to investigate. This shows that platforms are actually doing everything in their power already to stop CSEM by following already existing laws. The Earn It Act includes zero resources for proven investigation or prevention programs. If Senator Bluementhal actually cared about protecting youth, why wouldn’t he include anything to actually protect them in his shitty horrible bill?

The Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) along with a coalition of 26 civil society organizations urged the United States Senate to reject the EARN IT Act. Groups on the left and right, including the ACLU, Fight for the Future, EFF, and Hacking // Hustling oppose it. Because it threatens free expression online and will threaten marginalized people’s safety while being totally unnecessary and failing to fix the problem it claims to address. The EARN IT Act empowers states to give law enforcement access to users’ private conversations and force companies to create encryption backdoors for law enforcement. This is totally unnecessary. Platforms are already handing over CSAM to the federal government. It’s actually likely to make prosecuting child molesters more difficult since evidence collected this way likely violates the Fourth Amendment and would be inadmissible in court.

I don't know why so many Senators are eager to cosponsor the "make child pornography worse" bill, but here we are.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

EARN IT Act was introduced yesterday! And it’s already scheduled to get marked up, which is the first step post-introduction. Most bills never go to markup, so this means they are putting pressure to move this through. IF YOU LIVE IN THESE STATES (IL, VT, CA, RI, MN, DE, CT, HI, NJ, and GA), CONTACT YOUR SENATOR AND HOUSE MEMBERS NOW. THIS IS URGENT. This is who gets first crack, and folks in all have Senators who are on the Judiciary committee.

I'm guessing this month or March is when the bill would be passed if there is no opposition 😭 The bill was re-introduced yesterday, already set for markup this Thursday. This feels like an attempt to fast track it this month. Additionally the current makeup of Congress favors those who want it passed. Back in 2020 it was mostly Senate republicans and democrats who are basically republicans (just like now, check the sponsors) pushing it with Ron Wyden using the filibuster to stop their efforts. The house dems didn't want to give Trump a win and needed to appear as pro-privacy/free speech for the 2020 election. Now the dems have the presidency, both chambers of Congress and if you've noticed have spent a few years repeatedly demanding social media censorship and desperately want to give Biden victories. biden isn't like obama who opposed sopa/pipa to appeal to younger voters. This is similar to how FOSTA passed with the group who made it happen last time back again. Far as I'm aware Wyden hasn't spoken about new earn it yet but even if he does oppose it, it's very possible there will be enough Senate democrats to join the republicans in passing it beating a filibuster. Then pelosi's band of house idiots pass it and we have to choose between breaking the law because they can't stop us from using encryption or being obedient sheep to a group who consider themselves above laws.

It already has a fifth of the Senate cosponsoring it. There is a very very very real chance this bill becomes law. This is an uphill battle that's going to happen fast and quick. PLEASE, FIGHT NOW.
