I started thinking about how much influence Mr. Keating had on the boys. The poets take his every word to heart, and truly live by his teachings and values.
Then, I was thinking about how Welton's other teachers conditioned the boys and molded them into what they saw fit. For YEARS the boys were told how to act, and that individuality is wrong.
The boys had to unlearn over a decades worth of lessons. If they ever showed any deviation from their rules, consequences would follow.
The amount of power an adult, or person of authority, has on a teenager is frightening. It could be wonderful, or catastrophic.
