I spend a fair amount of time聽teaching women聽to kick men in the balls, and I鈥檝e learned that this activity tends to generate controversy. Here, according to actual adults who have actually said these things to me, are some reasons you should聽not聽kick a guy in the balls:
1. It will make him angry.
I should hope so. I鈥檓 not sending him a friend request. If I kick him hard enough, there鈥檚 a good chance I鈥檒l render him unable to act upon his anger.聽That鈥檚聽my goal. His feelings are his problem.
2. It will make him hurt you worse.
Statistics say聽otherwise. And anyway, he鈥檚 already demonstrated his desire to hurt me. Why should I give him carte blanche to decide聽how much聽he鈥檚 going to hurt me? I鈥檇 rather be an active participant in that decision-making process.
3. Groin kicks aren鈥檛 really that devastating; I鈥檝e seen lots of guys get hit in the balls and it hardly fazed them.
This response (almost universally from men) is so common I鈥檝e come to think of it as 鈥済roinsplaining"鈥攜ou can see it many of the YouTube comments in the videos linked above. These people rarely volunteer to demonstrate their own iron balls in a real kicking situation, but they confidently assert that men in general can shrug off all kinds of damage to the groin. All I can say is, I鈥檝e seen two-year-olds take down grown men聽via the groin, and toddlers don鈥檛 even have any training. I do. I like my odds.
4. We shouldn鈥檛 be teaching people how to kick men in the balls; we should be teaching men not to do anything that would make us have to kick them in the balls.
Hey, that鈥檚 a great idea! Do you have a detailed, research-based plan for teaching all men everywhere to behave themselves all the time? And do you have funding for your efforts, and buy-in from politicians and community leaders, and a network of trained, experienced instructors who can effect this change? If not, better get started on your grant proposal. In the meantime, I鈥檒l just be over here teaching people how to kick guys in the balls.聽That鈥檚 what I do.
5. Telling people they should kick an assailant in the balls is the same as telling victims who didn鈥檛 kick their assailant in the balls that they did something wrong.
No, it isn鈥檛. It鈥檚 a practical way to聽reduce聽the number of future victims by giving them more viable options to disrupt and survive an assault.
Fact: We have the power to damage the bodies of men who try to hurt us. You鈥檙e saying we shouldn鈥檛 let people use that power. I鈥檓 offering people more choices; you鈥檙e trying to take them away.
6. Kicking a guy in the balls just makes the world a more violent place.
Maybe, in the short term. But if it stops him from killing someone, or putting them in the hospital, isn鈥檛 that a net win for non-violence? The Dalai Lama聽thinks so.
One in four women will have good reason to kick a guy in the balls聽at some point in her life. Luckily, it鈥檚 not rocket science. Anyone can do it! And ball-kicking鈥檚 efficacy is beyond dispute, as the men of MMA so nobly helped us illustrate here. Gentlemen, if any of you are reading this, and conscious: Cheers, and get well soon (the non-wife-beaters among you, anyway).

i really do not like that there are communities of men that dress up as hypersexualized, bimbo-ified caricatures of women and are celebrated for it. i do not like drag.
i do not think that drag is an innocent outlet to explore gender nonconformity. it goes beyond that -- it is a misogynistic performance of men's idea of womanhood, and it disgusts me. the fact that drag performers adopt "female" personas with feminine names and use she/her pronouns solidifies my opinion on this.

Will never see eye-to-eye with anyone less than the people who treat their pets like wandering ronin instead of valued family members. Like oh there goes Bronson our uncollared, chipless chocolate lab out of the permanently open back door again. If he comes home in three days after subsisting on garbage we'll be mildly thrilled to see him again but if he succumbs to his natural predator, the 2006 Toyota Camry, that's just the circle of life

it is a bit sad and worrying seeing a lot of women who get cosmetic mastectomies apparently to resolve a severe body anxiety, who after the surgery seem to become only more focused on that part of their body, and become symbolised by the scars and made into someone who鈥檚 had something removed. There is having pride and comfort in how you look, but there鈥檚 also presumably being able to move on from being fixed on your body when you鈥檝e had the thing that鈥檚 apparently supposed to fix the problem, and becoming more focused in on exactly that area does not seem like moving into a healthier mindset. It likely does not help that so many get stuck with surgeons who shouldn鈥檛 be allowed anywhere near a scalpel, who鈥檝e done genuinely terrible work that wouldn鈥檛 fly in a field that wasn鈥檛 so female specific (saying that, are you even allowed to stitch up a cesarean that badly?)

That chai guy reblogged a post yesterday about how radblr women aren't able to live ordinary and happy lives because we're too busy fearing half the population and projecting abuse we got from our fathers on the world.

it's so funny when people try to act like porn has always been a natural and healthy part of human sexuality and the evidence they give is like. a renaissance painting or statue of a naked woman. as if that's equivalent to a constant stream of "tiny teen slut forced incest gangbang bbc bukkake 4000hd" easily accessable to every child with a computer or phone.
