A visit to the abbey (first built in the 8th century) on the island of Mont St. Michel is well worth the walk up the winding cobblestone lane of the surrounding village and abbey complex. This important @UNESCO site, about 73 miles from our last stop in Bayeux, was our final attraction in Normandy. We spent about 3.5 hours there, including lunch.
