I THINK I WAS JUST GIVEN THIS FREIGHTER??
I--I didn't understand most of what the captain said! I don't know those words! I just got the idea that they were thankful for the help, and--and they sent me to the navigator! And now they're calling me CAPTAIN-FRIEND! I thought they were just going to say thank you and send me back out! Is this real??
What do I even do with a fleet?? All I've had is my ship and my home, and home only has two people! And now there's... an entire crew. Calling me captain. This is fine. This is okay. Oh stars, I need to learn so much more Gek, and look around everywhere and build what Gameinsig needs and--and--and--
I think I need to lay down.

Stars, this place is... massive. I usually see frighters from far away, I had no idea they were this big inside. It feels even bigger than the crashed one near my base.
My headset just says.. Speak to Captain Osfj. But how do I get up there?
Uh... Hello?
...Alright, looks like I'm doing some exploring. I'll be back.

I couldn't even get HOME! I warped back to my home system, and there were pirates attacking a freighter! I mean--I couldn't just sit there!
I should have stopped complaining about the six ships. I think this was at least eight. At least I had help, though! There was another pilot going after them, too, but I think they flew off already.
[There is a beep as an incoming transmission requests to connect to Archer's ship.]
Oh--hello there. Maybe that's them..
[As Archer connects to the frequency, a jumble of words in Gek can be heard. 'Friend' in particular is repeated several times. The other side ends the connection before Archer can respond.]
Uh...
I did not understand most of that, but it sounded like they were thankful. What is--oh? They're asking me to... come aboard? What??
I... don't think I've ever docked at a freighter, actually. I hope they're not mad or anything. Hopefully I didn't hit them while fighting off those pirates.

Hello hello, testing one two three on all local frequencies! Major astroid shower coming hot to a planetary body near you~! Time to get out your mining lasers and hope your dodging is up to par because there's riches to be made and pirates to be slain when they inevitably come to get their share. Are you ready?
....*crackle*...
Are you ready?
AM I
WHAT??
I-
I have so many questions. Where. Why. How. How major are we talking here? Asteroids falling into a planet?? Are Ohta and Oturakh going to be fine??
I... definitely need nanites, though. Um.
...Maybe I'm ready???

I should have known it wasn't going to be easy--they're having me... do something. I'm going to do that. Then I'll be back.
I've never had a station core talk to me directly before. It feels weird.

I can understand people here! Everyone! That's a first! Aside from the Anomaly, at least.
I asked.. well, just about everyone I could find about the voice of freedom. I feel like I understand it a little more now. Not much, but a little.
Some of them have called me strong, actually. Apparently they don't let just anyone get here.. I don't know if I'd agree, but I thanked them anyway. To be here is... I guess to fight against the Atlas and the Sentinels. I assume that's what all the crimson menace mentions are talking about. There doesn't seem to be any sort of authority in this system, presumably because of... all of this. I don't know how I feel about that.
Someone took me to the bounty officer. I... very nicely said no thank you. Half of what they wanted was for me to attack traders--I've been attacked so many times, and I almost died once! Why would I want to do that to someone else who isn't doing anything wrong?
I think I'm gonna head out now. Maybe explore some of the planets here, maybe head home.

The station core is definitely broken. It spoke in that voice I've been chasing, and then just started talking about.. glass. Is it--is it okay? Why glass? Like the glass sentinels have? ....Like the glass Artemis was afraid of?
I have never seen so many Vy'keen in one place before. I'm going to talk to someone.

Wow, this place is red! It's weird coming into a station that's so... dark. And smoky. And not blue. I really like the red, but it feels a little uncomfortable. ...Is the station core broken? It's just looking to the side, kind of.. pulsing between red and blue. And it's sparking.
I don't... really know if I belong here. But I'm gonna hop out and explore.

I'm here! This is... wow. There's two stars in this system! And that planet right there is so blue. Maybe I should- ..."High Sentinel activity."
Y'know, maybe I'll... leave that one be for a little bit. Um. Especially because this place is marked as an Outlaw System. Maybe I'll hold these broadcasts back a little while I'm here. I've already gotten enough trouble from pirates... I'm still pissed about those six ships at once. After a month of no fighting!
Uh. My navigator marked a station over past that blue planet, so I guess I'm heading over there. I'll tell you how it goes.

The terminal inside spoke more in that voice--and this time it gave me a "ticket to freedom." It's... navigation data. To another system, supposedly one that's free. I guess I'm going there next.

I went to talk to them! This place is a Korvax observatory--it's actually just like the one Oturakh sent me to, except this one is occupied. I helped one of them out, too. It looked like their datapad was broken, but I couldn't understand enough of what they were saying, so... I showed them what I've got in my backpack to see if anything would be useful. Apparently it just needed a new processor, so I gave it to them and apparently that helped fix the problem.
...I feel better now. But that transmission was sending me somewhere specific, so I'm going to see what I can find inside.

I'm here. It sent me to a... building of some sort. There's a bunch of smaller pods around a main one with a big spherical roof, and I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at even though I feel like I've seen one of these before. And--I forgot just how hot it is here. My hazard protection isn't very pleased about....
Wait. That's a person!

[Archer is heavily breathing as the transmission turns on.]
I... stars.. actually, give me a minute-
[They spend a few moments catching their breath before starting to speak again.]
That was.. too much. Six ships came at me at once. SIX SHIPS! Why were there so many?? I mean, of course I took care of them all, but- ...Maybe that's why there were so many. But why?? I don't know why they attacked me in the first place! I mean, clearly it's connected to the rendezvous point, but I still don't know what that was for at all! What side am I playing here?
[There is a short pause as faint beeping can be heard over the transmission.]
...The navigator beacon is beeping. Maybe I should...
[Another, larger beep is heard.]
Okay, that looked like it pinged the general area. And... wow, that was fast. Hold on.
[Static buzzes as Archer picks up on an incoming transmission. It is filled with static, but still easily understandable.]
Hello?
-You wish to -kzkt- follow us, to seize your freedom, to reject the grand lies of the -kzktktkt- Atlas? We shall see if you are worthy of -kzzzzkt- the Voice of Freedom.-
Wait--who is this? I don't know if I'm ready to commit to that!
[The transmission responds with only with staticky laughter before it cuts out.]
Well. That was... not very illuminating. Oh--they sent me coordinates to go to. They're sending me to.... Ambas. That's where I found Artemis's ship.
[Archer is silent for a few moments before ending the transmission.]

I'm nearing the rendezvous point; I don't really know what to expect here. For all I know, this could have been for days, weeks, months, even years ago. There's a good chance there won't be anything at all, even if it wasn't for an absurd amount of time ago. But I gotta keep going.
....
I know I wasn't making any logs while I was... down. But I was still doing a lot of thinking, even if I was only sharing it with Ohta and Oturakh.
I still don't really know why I'm doing any of this--why I listened to the beacons when I woke up, why I went after Artemis in the first place, why I'm doing this right now. I finally got in my ship after being depressed for a month and the first thing I did was chase after the first mystery I saw.
Maybe I'm just like this, I don't know. Sorry for not really having a conclusion here--I just needed to put some things out to space for a minute. Maybe someone will have insight. You guys are always really, really smart.
Oh. Huh. That's a freighter wreck.
[An alarm blares out, and Archer lets out a heavy sigh.]
And my pulse engine just got disabled.
I'll be back in a minute.

Sentinels can be PURPLE?? And they were covered in crystals! It's like--the stuff inside them came out and covered them! Why??
I'm.. thankful, at least, that they didn't call in reinforcements. I'm so far away from my ship, I don't think I'd make it if I ran. And that would have been horrible to tunnel to. And they dropped that purple stuff, too--it's called, um... Atlantideum. 'Spills from the bodies of corrupted sentinels.. seeking out their next host... will of its own..'
I'm gonna... put this safely in my ship and never touch it again.

I found the ship's beacon! Let's... take a look.
[The next few minutes of the broadcast consist of mostly typing and beeping, as well as minor commentary from Archer like an occasional "Stars" or hiss of pain.]
This was... stars.
They were attacked. Of course they were attacked--and the records here are terrible. I can't tell how many ships they had on them because there's just so many! I can't even... imagine.
[There's a particularly loud beep.]
...There's a recording.
[A garbled voice can be faintly heard, though over Archer's microphone it doesn't come across well enough to be understood. That is, until the recording switched to another voice, yelling: "-we shall cut out its crimson eye!" Archer is quiet for another little while after it finishes.]
Oh my stars. I can't even... stars. Just. I hope it was quick, at least.
It gave me coordinates. They're labeled.. rendezvous. Rendezvous for what? And for who? This poor person or the people that killed them??
[Beeping from Archer's suit can be somewhat heard over the signal.]
Uh--what is--Distress beacon tampering detected, Dispatching sentinels?? Oh no- WHY ARE THEY PURPL-
