Shane, when did you start drinking alcohol? What's your favorite thing about it? Ex the taste, texture, ect. And is there any reason in particular you drink it?

it’s embarrassing to admit, but i started drinking alone. yep. not even with a crowd, not even with friends— just me alone in a room with a beer.

i was too young in the first place, but i was also curious and depressed. i remember being desperate to know if alcohol would fix the pain.

… i can confidently say it didn’t.

i drink it because it’s what i know will suppress my thoughts. beyond the taste, it’s a coping mechanism… i mean, there are still some parts i can appreciate. i like the smoothness. i like the variety. yeah, it’s fun. but i’m struggling with alcoholism, so i can’t find much joy in anything at this point in my life.
