New research by Just Like Us has found that [UK] lesbians are the most likely of the whole LGBTQ+ community to be supportive of trans people. Lesbians are the most likely to say they know a trans person (92%), and also the most likely to say they are “supportive” or “very supportive” of trans people (96%). That’s compared to 89% of LGBTQ+ people overall, and just 69% of non-LGBTQ+ people.
… as a lesbian, I see so much overlap with the experiences we and trans communities encounter in the heterosexist world we live in. Particularly, as a butch lesbian, I know that we are both used to living in the margins, to not having our identities respected or understood. Lesbians and trans people stand side by side – we always have done and always will. And this isn’t just my opinion, the research shows this is the case too.
So when you hear or read a nasty, false stereotype about lesbians being anti-trans, I hope you’ll be able to see it for what it is: a lesbopobic trope.
… Transphobia is rising at an alarming rate in our society. I find it surreal when people fail to see the parallels between the tactics of promoting homophobia and the fear of the unknown used against us in the past, and the ways that trans people are being talked about today.
This article doesn’t name who is spreading this lesbophobic trope: TERFs. Claiming to speak for lesbians is just one more way is which TERFs pretend to be a bigger group than they actually are, and one more way in which they try to falsely claim marginalization, obscuring that they are largely just the usual white middle&upper class straight conservatives, misappropriating the word ‘feminist’ to peddle their usual bigotry.
The next time you see a British TERF claiming to speak for lesbians, please remind them that 96% of lesbians disagree.

I’m not mad about being “excluded” btw if I really want to vote on a poll I can make a stealth acc with nothing on it and just quietly vote on polls that really isn’t a big deal. nor do I care about someone just blocking me or criticising me.
I was mad because I’m dealing with constant floods of ableism recently from the same type of people who reblog posts about how we need to support mentally ill people and survivors even if they’re “weird”
you guys just show your asses when a survivor/queer person/mentally ill person actually challenges your worldview or your sensibilities and it frustrates me
I have a million people blocked idc if you have me blocked but maybe consider why you have the reactions you do and why you think it’s okay to use the language you use, just because you dislike a blog
maybe if your kneejerk response to disliking a mentally ill person is to treat them like they’re dangerous or weird, that’s not a good reaction

would be great if coolest-dragon-bracket would stop lying
You called a trans person "a fucking weirdo" for reclaiming slurs they are allowed to reclaim. (you're not even trans lol?)
You immediately vagued them to your followers.
When someone challenged you on not calling queer people "fucking weirdos" for reclaiming slurs, you changed it to be about syscourse while also talking about them like they were a mass shooter. (The usage of "manifesto")
No one cares that you blocked someone or are annoyed by them. They care because you're acting ableist and queerphobic and yes, you did blast them to your followers. It was very easy to tell by going through your blog who you meant because you literally described the very first things someone would notice about the blog. They received hate mail because of you but they don't acknowledge those things and left it unposted.
You don't even have a DNI so there was no way for them to know you didn't want them interacting. Even after this happening you STILL don't have a DNI.

If it’s any consolation, I’m also a cult survivor (different experiences, tho, and I wasn’t raised in it, but I still have an alter who struggles with the programming they internalized.) and I’m sorry that you’re being treated like this. The whole endo thing is a fucking mess to begin with and you deserve to at least be treated respectfully even if they disagree about the cult part (which is another thing entirely).
Thank you anon. I legitimately don't care if people disagree with me that's obviously their right. And I'm actually happy to engage people on those disagreements if they approach me as an equal and try to have a normal conversation. Especially if they are a fellow cult survivor, I think we should be able to have an adult freaking conversation on why as survivors we can reach totally different conclusions, and none of us are Wrong for that.
The fact people's kneejerk response to not liking what I say is to do shit like discredit me with half-truths, and try to make me seem crazy and violent and etc, says a lot about the people doing it.
Unfortunately in my experience no one will call them out on their blatant ableism and they'll just hide their heads in the sand and pretend I don't exist lol.
You can tell people know they're treating me unfairly by how averse they are to even acknowledge my responses lol. There's no excuse for the way they behave towards me and they know this. The only response you can really give is "fuck you're right, I'm being an ableist dipshit. I don't actually have the right to treat mentally ill people bad just because I judge them as strange or weird or even as stupid or irrational. that's literally the basis of ableism and I allowed my emotions to cloud my judgement and regress into those behaviours."
Which no one is gonna do lmao.

dichotomy of “nothing in the digital age is permanent, we are losing physicality and thus part of ourselves” vs. “everything in the digital age is permanent, everything you do is recorded and stored for later use against you or to exploit you”

it does genuinely annoy me tbh that everytime someone wants to vague nonsense about me to discredit me or make me seem bad, they have to leave out and make up random stuff which always reveals their ableism and queerphobia
eg. this person just doesn’t like what I have to say about syscourse on my blog, so they blocked me and made a big self-righteous post about how having reclaimed slurs on my blog makes me a “fucking weirdo”
then when they receive pushback for this they switch it up to “omg he has a MANIFESTO on his pinned about a topic I disagree with”, revealing what the actual problem was to begin with. the slurs were literally not the problem and were used as an excuse to paint me as scary and violent.
but presenting it as “this mentally ill cult survivor has a syscourse post as their pinned so they don’t have to keep talking about it, and is also a trans man who reclaims slurs for himself” would be a lot different from “this FUCKING WEIRDO wrote A MANIFESTO about SYSCOURSE. WHY would they even care omg they must be a violent scary person!”
but as a person with DID who is a cult survivor it’s very obvious why I would “care that much about it.”, especially if you bothered to read the posts and not just see that a person with DID is talking about something you disagree with, so now you have to turn the ableism up on them
you can obviously disagree with me but this isn’t how you go about it lol. you could have blocked me and just put “people who use slurs dni” without any explanation or statement made about it instead of trying to make me seem like a violent crazy person for not living up to your standard of survivor/queer.
also to make things clear: literally all I did was reblog a post on my dash about a cool dragon competition, from an OP who had no dni and still doesn’t, and they vagued me by calling me a “fucking weirdo” and likening my actions to that of a school shooters. (”manifesto” is a very loaded term to be using against a trans person right now but ok.)
